Lectures are on the boring side, but taking notes is very helpful. Nice professor, knows his stuff.

Cool teacher and knows his subject matter. Class tends to be boring butis like Action Park compared to Chetta's class. I know he reads these so I don't want to be to hard one him. You are doing a good job professor, keep it up!!!!:)

Very very nice guy. Knows what hes talking about. The class itself is a lil boring but a great teacher. Its all that lecturing, it gets to you after a while. But hes an aewsome teacher. Keep up the good job professor!

He is a great teacher. I learned a lot in his class. His knowledge of religion is extensive and he makes it extremely understandable. He's awesome!

Long and drawn out, but really not that bad. A nice person and an OK teacher. Religion is a boring topic and its hard to make it interesting but hey, I got in some good naps in his class.

Awesome teacher, knows so much, makes it very easy to understand. He tells you what you need to know and is really funny. If you are not interested in religion, he is probably the best teacher to take, because he tries to make it enjoyable. Take him!!!

Great teacher...so helpful, the work is laid out for you clearly, nothing is a surprise...so if you want to work, you will do well. HES SO GOODLOOKING! TAKE PAFFENROTH!

He is a great guy, he will grade decently on papers but his tests are kinda hard. He only gave 2 exams for the OLD TEST course I took and his multiple choise questions are tricky but the rest is ok. Really nice!!

Amazing teacher!! He's really funny and morbid. Very sarcastic sense of humor which is greatly appreciated in a course that could have been really boring. Let's students e-mail him the papers on the day they're due. 3 papers and no homework (except reading texts) thorough knowledge of his subject

very interesting class where u get a good sense and overlook at different relgions from a very positive matter. always taught us to look at all the religions positevely. when it comes to the final exam, however, it can be very tricky.

Great guy. Easy quizzes. But he throws a curve ball on midterm and final. Tough tests, but people still get A's. Knows a lot about his subject, and makes the class interesting. I definately recommend him.

This professor is great! He's funny, the quizzes are easy, and you will learn a lot about different religions. Highly Reccomended.

Very very nice guy but he has a very relaxing voice so people tend to doze off. The papers weren't bad but the tests were a challenge. But overall, his class was enjoyable.

I took his class over a year ago and I still miss it. This guy is great, classes are very interesting. Take him you will learn a lot.

Very easy class, his tests are super easy, as long as you study and know the dates he gives you, you don't even have to read the book, his notes are all you need. Makes the subject interesting for you, and really nice and helpful guy, makes a lot of jokes. Knows his stuff.

Definately want to take this teacher!! Easiest at Iona! Don't need to pay attention in class but he does take attendence. Quizzes are just definitions and dates but he gives you everything you need to know! No papers or outside assignements just quizzes, midterm and final. So easy practically hands you a good grade if you study what he gives you!

A very cool professor. Humanities can be boring but you can't blame Paffenroth for that. He is a fairly easy grader and is a cool guy to talk with. He sure loves zombies.

Boring subject matter, but as a teacher he is very knowledgeable and helpful. No work other than readings he assigns, midterm/final and 4 easy quizzes which he tells you exactly what they are going to be on. Would recommend this teacher to others.

The people saying he's boring and too hard are typical Iona idiots. If you can't pass this guy's class, then you don't stand a chance in any other class either. Trust me, this class is an easy one. There's no homework, no paper, and no mandatory reading. What more could you ask for?

AMAZING PROFESSOR! very clear, all notes are given to you in the beginning of the semester. vocab quizzes are a joke and an easy 100 as long as you look over words. midterm and final are a little challenging but as long as you put in effort to study, easy A. don't just rely on his notes for midterm/final, take your own! OVERALL GREAT!! TAKE HIM!!!!

What an amazing teacher. Everyone should take him. He is very boring but knows his material. He gives note packets and review sheets and the tests and quizzes are impossible to not get 100 if you study them.

His views on literature are extremely enlightening. Pretty hard essay grader, but he wants quality work. Really seems to know what he's talking about. Also he writes zombie novels which makes him a boss, and has a good sense of humor, but uses it without losing focus on the class.

I love when professors treat you like adults instead of children, and that is exactly what Dr. Paffenroth does. He is very passionate about the material, which I find makes me more interested. He is genuine, funny, nice, and I enjoyed his teaching style very much. Some of the above comments are so mean and completely undeserved. :(

Although the subjects he teaches are probably unappealing to 90% of students, professor Paffenroth was one of my favorite personalities at school. He's an awesome guy.

Loved this class! If you have and interest in Christian Scriptures i recommend taking Paffy. It isn't a cake walk, but if you put decent effot into the homeworks and the study guides he provides you will do well! I do recommend taking the full class rather than the hybrid though. I did not enjoy the online professors!

He treats his students like real people with valuable opinions and is willing to talk out your ideas with you. If you are unclear on anything he is very willing to explain things, and anyone who is complaining is failing to put in effort on their own.

Honors 101 with Paf was an enjoyable class. The books are important and make sure to really prepare for your MOPs. Participate a lot and make an effort to ask questions outside of class. Get your voice heard early on and remain involved for an A. Don't leave the papers to the last minute, there are only 3. Paf was great, funny, and sarcastic.

Paff really cares about how you do and breaks things down to understand. He listens to what you have to say and values your opinion as well as counters it to make you think. He really helped make difficult material less difficult.

Paff really want to get to know students as individuals, and cares about them as individuals as well. As long as you care and you partcipate, he will take notice. He is very willing to help with MOPs and papers. He likes to hear students' opinions and will guide discussions. He is a very caring, down to earth, and easygoing professor.

Professor Paffenroth presents the material in a way that really draws you into the class. He is understanding, funny, and treats his students with respect. The material is not challenging as long as you do the assigned readings! His grading criteria is very clear and the quizzes are more than fair. Overall I would take this professor again!

He's a nice man who cares about his students. Had him and Stackhouse this semester. You have to put in work. It's extremely hard to get an A. Most people average a B or B+

Dr. Paffenroth, or as we all refer to him, Paf, is by far one of the most influential professor I ever had. He was my professor freshman year for HON101 and to this day I am very close to him. He wrote my recommendation letters for law school, supported me in all of my academic adventures and is an excellent mentor.

Good Teacher, I really enjoy his lectures he is kind to students who participate!

While this course is more student-led, taking it with Dr. Paffenroth was a delight. There are no exams, there is a student led discussion and presentation alongside the final paper. From my experience, he was extremely knowledgeable about the books we read and understanding when needed.

Had to do a lot of readings and 2-page essays for each reading. Abt 8 in total, they weren't completely difficult, definitely challenged you to think about the prompt. Nice guy over email, and he gave good feedback on each assignment.

Kim Paffenroth is one of the greatest professors I've EVER HAD! It's sad that some students are just trying to get an easy grade and don't understand how much knowledge and wisdom they could be getting from Dr. Paffenroth's courses.
