Shes crazy and needs to calm down. Good teacher, nonetheless.

One of the best teachers I've had at NOVA. She does her job very well and operates on what I think is a fair grading system.

This teacher is one of the best science teachers I've ever had. She's concise and to the point. She gives outlines before she lectures, which are extremely helpful with the exams. The grading policy is flexible; I missed two classes (one exam and two homework assignments) and I'm getting an A! :-)

wow..one of my favorite professors..if your major is biology take her..if it smoething else and you just have to take Bio dont..!!!not a very easy A but you would love Bio after taking her...

her lab is hard. make sure u have time to come to the open labs on fridays, otherwise it's impossible to get an A on ur praticles. It'll be best if u dont have a job. cuz u ought to spend great amount of time for this class.

Very hard, can go on her "tangants", says "this is an aside" & "can I ask you a question" you will hear ALL THE TIME!!.She will keep you for the whole duration of class. She does give excellent notes and follows them on her exams. Don't expect an easy class and be prepared to study your butt off!

A very demanding class but fun. Excellent notes and covers all the material concisely. A great teacher.

Excellent Professor,However she is a hard educator

Her lectures are extremely clear and to the point. Her exams are very difficult, however if you listen to her you will get an A or B. Take her class. You learn alot and she is the best.I absolutely enjoyed and loved her class.

Very chalenging class but she is a wonderful teacher and would gladly take a class with her again.

Go to office hours, read the book, study the notes, and here's the key do the extra credit and study out of the study guide. She's not unreasonable and is understanding. Her lab is not that bad has E.C. and she tells you what to expect, study old labs. The only downside is that she goes too quickly.

Loves w/she does/take good notes/very methodical, gets excited @ times/strong passion for her work and it comes out/not an easy class, you gotta work/study/challenges students to think outside the box wants students to better informed/including as a consumer/she is a walking hard drive/good clas

She is an easy teacher. She tells u what u need 2 know 4 each exam, and she gives out a lot of bonuses. She gives out activity sheets that are easy and help u towards your exam because she puts those questions right back in the exam. She is very helpful, and very clear in lecture. Any one who is having trouble in Bio needs 2 take her.

One of the "Best" teachers at Nova. She is very nice. Her notes are very helpful. Much can be written about her being one of the nicest. However, one word describes her i.e. "EXCELLENT"

she was great. class handouts covered every chapter, and were concise, clear, and to the point. her lab was the same. she tests you on what she teaches, and what is in the book, if you study hard, go to class, and keep up, you should do fine.

Enthusiastic. Sort of crazed look made me uncomfortable at first. But she is very helpful, clear and well organized, and will make difficult stuff doable. Good teacher. Highly recommended.

She is a teacher of passion and compassion. Genuine biologist and humanitarian. Course materials & her exams are VERY TOUGH, but very fair. She offers as many extra credits as possible to boost up your grade. She'd stand by you and support your study as long as you try. The more you ask, the more she provides.

I loved Professor Rutledge. She kept me awake and knew what she was talking about. Her exams are easy if you study and pay attention in class. She is very helpful with a kind demeanor. She loves Biology and she shows it.

Awesome teacher! Best teacher I've ever had. She's very detail oriented. She expects a lot but if you give it your all, you'll do well. She's funny, passionate, helpful, enthusiastic, wonderful...I could go on. You will learn so much and have a fun time too!

This teacher is great. I hate Biology and I thought I was going to do bad in it. She's the most helpful teacher I've met, will always answer questions. She hands out notes, which is amazing and makes your studying life a whole lot easier. She's the reason i got an A in her class. I suggest 100 % you take her class. You won't regret it.

I was not looking forward to this class, but Ms. Rutledge has been very helpful. She makes sure you understand before she moves on to the next topic. Her tests are a bit on the difficult side, but if you pay attention in class you'll be fine. She is passionate about the subject and that helps.

Bio 231-232- Detail oriented (misspelling, etc) and THOROUGH. Attend class, use the notes she GIVES you to study. Ask questions. She's very nice and helpful if you just ask. Tests aren't difficult if you actually study. Will take the time to clarify/ inform/ help students.

She is awesome I took Bio 101 and 102 with her. Got an A in 101 and still awaiting my grade on 102. She is a VERY good teacher. I had a great time in her lectures and lab. I would not take Bio with anyone else. She's awesome.

Prof Rutledge was the best ptofessor I've ever had. She gives you class notes, reviews before exams and helps you with any questions you have. Class is fun and interesting. She knows her stuff. Activity total can replace one of your exams. Easy A if you do all your work and study for exams.

Anyone who complains about Prof. Rutledge is lazy and they don't want to study, her lab is NOT harder than lecture.. I've taken 231 and 232, I didn't earn anything below a 90% on any of her lab exams. She is weird with grading, but I think she just wants to give you as much credit as possible. She's great and I'm sad to see her leave NOVA.

She loves it when students are invested in learning and working with the teacher. She encouraged independent research which helped prepare the class for the real world. Challenging yet clear For those who are having difficulty all they need to do is go to her right when the problem begins. She is one of the many great profs thats NOVA has to offer

Prof Rutledge was the best teacher i have ever had in my life. she is very energetic and she really cares about each student. she definately has a passion for biology. honestly i can write an essay about Prof. R. After I took her class, i knew for sure i wanted to be in the medical field. If ur in the med field all i can say is you gotta have her.

Amazing teacher! Def try to get her, you will be glad you did. Very nice lady, very helpful, smart, and understanding. I liked the her lecture more than the lab! Please take her, you will def have fun and the class isn't too difficult, just study hard for the final. Assignments are easy, and theres extra credit!

OMG i have never seen an interesting class like this. She is the most wonderful teacher In NVCC. We are so lucky to have her. She is wondrful. Also, she is always willing to help anyone. Anyone who's majoring in bio or actually any major should take her calss. She makes any subject intersting...i loved her.(No homo) lol but she is the best!!!

She is a great professor, but I hate her three decimal point grade. Her grading is worse. She gives much extra credit work for just one point or may be two. Over all she is great. To pass her class you should work real hard.

Take her class! For 161 and 162! She is the best teacher I have had. She explains everything so well, and if you have a question she has no problem answering annd explaining. She offers open labs. Professor Rutledge is a very enthusiastic professor. She has difficult exams, but if you study her power points thoroughly you will do fine. She has open labs and will answer any questions and go over material with you. She is one of the best professors I have ever had!!

OMG, LOVE HER! Saw her reviews and took her class, SOO WORTH IT!! You have to make it to her lectures, they are VERY INTERESTING!! The notes are provided for you (FYI' I didn't even buy the textbooks) she basically tells you what to except on her exams, she'll say "NEED TO KNOW" Also, try to make it to all the labs if your aiming to get an A.

She Knows her stuff and seems to genuinely love biology which reflects on the way she teaches!very patient and helpful.If u put in the the time and effort needed youu will definitely pass the class!

Professor Rutledge is awesome. But her class is not easy only because you have to put in a certain amount of work to pass. Not at all an unreasonable amount either. She is fun, and her lectures are really top notch. Her classes and learning objectives are well organized. Fantastic learning value, there should be more like her.

She is a hard teacher but if you will study hard you will get an A. If you wanna learn a lot and get what you've paid for then take her class. Her exams is very hard but you will learn a lot.

I took 161 and 162 nas with her, I dont even have a word to to tell u what kind of teacher she is, the best in Nova, hard but very helpful. love her!! take her if you can, you will be glad u did. all you have to do to pass her class is study, if you don't pass it, it is not her it is you to blame, becaues she gives you everything you need to know!!

I can't even begin to describe how awesome she is. I took NAS 161 and 162 with her. She is an amazing teacher. She is funny, charismatic, sweet, patient, and just down right awesome. The tests are reasonably hard but just study and you will do well. She also offers a lot of extra credit too. So take her if you can, you wont' regret it!

Love,love,love professor Rutledge. They need more teachers like her at Nova. She explains everything until you get it. Very organized and helpful. Whatever she put on her outlines, you can expect the same on the exams. She wants everybody to succeed. I enjoy coming to her class, she makes laugh every class. I look forward to taking her 142 class.

Amazing teacher! You will earn your grade in this course - do any and all extra credit.

If you want to learn A&P, take this class. She is organized and a fantastic teacher. You must be willing to do the work, it is time consuming but necessary. If you read the chapter and outline BEFORE class and bring powerpoint slides to class to make notes you will do well. If you are serious about going into nursing, she is fantastic.

Is she "hard"? Sure. Should you have to work for an A? In my opinion, yes. She is a great teacher and if you put the time in, you will get in A.

Professor Rutledge is amazing! She breaks down A+P so you will understand it. She is a dedicated teacher and she wants you to suceed in her class. This class is not easy but her notes and outline make the course easier to study and understand.

Easy A if you go to every class and pay attention in lecture. She gives TONS of extra credit but its TONS of work for said extra credit. She flat out tells you what you need to study for the exams you just have to put the work in to know it come exam day. Do some hard work and guaranteed an A

Professor Rutledge is the best professor I have EVER had. She is very clear and concise, provides detailed lecture outlines. If you know every word on her outline, you will receive an A on every test. Offers lots of Extra Credit, however its a LOT of work. I took and 8 week class, which is not for the faint of heart. Be prepared to work very hard.

Professor Rutledge is easily the best professor I have ever had the privilege of learning from. She is very easy to understand, and answers and any all questions to clarify confusion. She provides thorough lecture outlines, and as long as you study them vigorously, you will get an A. Many extra credit opportunities are offered.

Professor Rutledge is a great teacher. All we had to do was take time to study the outlines. Overall the course requires tons of memorization and she did a great job of providing us nothing more nor nothing less than what would be on the exams. I def. recommend her!

She is really a very good teacher. She teaches everything that you needed to do and you'll learn a lot from her. But, She is a hard teacher. I got an A but I worked so hard. I study most of the time. In other words, her exams are hard but you'll learn a lot from her.

Phenomenal professor. If you think her course will be an easy A, think again. She truly tests your knowledge--not just your ability to memorize a few details. I highly recommend her if you are interested in understanding the subject.

She provided outlines which covered test material ok. the tests were multi choice/short answer. short answer was horrible at times, but multi choice was easy. She provides activities week prior to test and many multi choice questions come word for word from test. google = best friend for activities. minor book use. easy A for me

Prof Rutledge gives you all the tools you need to do well in this course. What a gifted teacher! She works very hard to make the material accessible. In the end it is up to you; show up, study and focus, if you have questions ask, she is willing to help. If A&P or Micro are in your future take Prof R's Class

Professor Rutledge is a great teacher! I sincerely recommend her to everybody. However, do not think you can receive good grades without you hard work. You have to do all her assignments and extra credit if you want to succeed. She gives everything and very emotionally and lively tells about A&P. I would like to take all Professor Rutledge classes.

Ms. Rutledge is an amazing, gifted science teacher. Tests are hard but she tells you what is on them. The hw assignments and extra credit help a lot towards your tests and overall grade. You will learn a lot but you will have to work hard. I would take any of her classes.

Professor Rutledge is awesome! If you are lucky enough to take one of her classes you'll be thankful. She is very passionate about the material and explains it in an easy to understand manner. The homework assignments will have you well prepared for the exams. The type of teacher that I would adjust my schedule just to have her teach again.

Professor Rutledge is an amazing professor. She is super sweet and always there for you when you need help. She has an amazing lecture voice, very clear and precise. She never gets frustrated when you need her to go back over something. I would highly recommend her.

This is the only review I have ever written on a professor, which means a lot. This is hands down the best professor I've ever had at a university or community college. She provides you with all the knowledge that you need to do well and is very approachable. This course will demand a good amount of your time, but you will leave knowledgeable!

Exceptional teacher, keeps lectures like a story line which facilitates easy recall. But beware of your spelling mistakes. She provides clarity when confused or in doubt and gives extra credit. But be ready to do your part, she is a guide. Very informative.

SHE IS AWSOME

Gives you everything you need to get an A. Read along with her notes during class and study what she highlights, especially short answer info. For her lab, only study what she highlights in the handouts. She gives ample extra credit. I only used her study guides and lab guides and got an A. Opened the book one time to look up an extra credit term.

Professor Rutledge is one of the best science teachers I have ever had. Her lectures are clear and fun and she clearly loves microbiology. She gives lots of pointers and helpful study guides. But make sure you get your spellings right for bacteria and other scientific terms. With all her help and hard work on your part you could easily get an A!

Took Bio 142 with her and I can say that she is a an amazing, passionate professor. Exams are a bit hard and she does tend to take off points for small things but I would definitely have her as my professor again!!!

Really amazing professor for A&P. The material is difficult, but Professor Rutledge is always willing to help you understand. Super patient, always available for help, and truly wants her students to succeed.

She is very straightforward. As long as you complete the study guides and take notes in class you should get an A. The lab practicals require lots of memorization because it is anatomy heavy but you will pass. She offers lots of extra credit on every exam.

I was lucky enough to have Prof. Rutledge for a short time. She was our professor and then had to leave mid-semester. I was terrified of taking Bio 141, but she made it so doable. She is brilliant, kind, clear, concise, & so helpful. She makes you want to work hard for the A. Since she left synergy in the class is pretty horrible. We all miss her!

SHE'S NOW AT CCBC ESSEX! Prof Rutledge is by far the BEST professor I've ever had. She's so caring & wants all the students to pass. She makes teaching very personal no matter how big the class size! I am so grateful to have taken her class, you'll love A&P bc of her. She gives A TON of extra credit & it's almost impossible to fail her class! 10/10
