Dr. Shiffren is HILARIOUS. You learn a lot and she makes you laugh. There was a paper ... 7-10 pages based on research and volunteer work/interviews... 3 tests...THEY WERE KINDA HARD.. just study... gave 20 bonus points to everyone!

Very nice, funny, and knowledgeable. Even though the class was primarily lecture, it was interesting. The paper is a lot of work but not unreasonable for a college honors student. The tests are easy. I learned a lot in the class and enjoyed it, too.

Very nice, and VERY funny. 3 Tests, one group project, one 7-10 page paper (it was easy). Tests are easy, she gives you a study guide and will give credit for questions that most of the class gets wrong. One of the best teachers at Towson. DEF. TAKE HER!

Yet another joke of a class brought to us by the Towson Psychology Dept. Step1-Dont show up to class (waste of time). Step 2-get review sheet and notes from classmate before exam. Step3-study that for like 2 hours, then ace test. Step4-make up the research for paper & write it. (dont try too hard, she gives lots of A's on it anyway)

She is by far the only professor at towson that actually really cares about you.If ur sick, thanks u for not coming in and spreading germs. ne1 could Ace class all u have to do is the LITTLE work that is assigned.Take her 4 remthod she splits the paper up in sections and u dont have to do ne real re methods for the paper like collecting real data.

Dr. Shifren is awesome...she really cares about her students and wants them all to do well. She knows a lot about the subject and gives great study guides for tests, she tries to tell you exactly what you need to know for it. I would definitly recommend her!!!

Dr. Shifren made this class very easy. The class is pretty boring (which can't be helped) but she made it as interesting as possible. She was incredibly helpful and made sure we understood the material. The research paper is broken down into sections during the semester and each section has an independent grade. Gives a study guide for tests.

Dr. Shiffren is nice. The class is pretty easy, she gives you a study sheet and you basically teach yourself the stuff on it (I searched for the page the topic was on and read it briefly) and you do fine on the tests.

Dr. Shifrin is a great teacher. Her style is concise, clear and informative. The tests are easy, but only if you've taken it upon yourself to read and understand the material. My only complaint is that she let the loud half of the room go almost unchecked. Just tell'em to shut up!

Awesome, awesome, awesome. Makes everything understood and gives you a study guide with almost all the answers as long as you review it. SOmetimes you have to dig through book to find answers, but overall efficient. And she also almost always lets you out early. TAKE HER!

Great teacher. best psych teacher i've had yet. Great personality, teaches human development and tells stories about her family and friends to relate to the topic and keep interested. Attendance not mandatory, but will help grade. Read text book for test to make them easier, i learnt that after the 1st test (the hard way). but overall great teacher

So easy i almost feel bad that i got an A. Class isn't mandatory and not really necessary to do well on the exams. She gives study guides that tell you exactly what to study. 4 exams, that's it. If you're like me and you don't adore children then the beginning will kind of suck when she is going on and on about her kids

Great professor. Uses powerpoints to take notes from and gives study guides for every test... use the text very little, if you go to class not much studying is needed, if you dont then just read the text. she is very helpful, i would definitly take her again!

She was funny&made the class interesting.The class was extremely easy.We had 4exams that were easy as long as you used her study guide(which was specific of whats on the test.)We had to do 1reflection paper which was easy&everyone did well.Attendence is "required" but she never recorded it&everything is on Blackboard.I never went&still got an A :)

Professor Shiffren is a fine teacher. The class is pretty basic, as is the material. Attendance isn't mandatory and the slides are available on blackboard. I would suggest going to class though. I didn't, and ended up with a D. Inexcusable really. Good class otherwise.

Attendance isn't mandatory. Great professor!! Such a big class that participation couldn't be emphasized, although it seems like she likes participation. The exams have detailed study guides that make it impossible to get less than a 95. Seriously. So easy. Would/will take again.

This professor was great! She really knows what she is talking about. Has powerpoints online before class so it's easy to follow along. Four tests and only one 8 page max media paper. I only used the text to study for the tests, which are hard if you do not study. I spent hours studying for each one, but got an A. Take her for human development!!

She is nice, funny, and a good teacher. The class is fairly easy- it basically verbalizes common sense. She posts study guides for every test. You could probably never go to class and still get an A but then you would miss out on all of her funny comments! TAKE HER!

I LOVE HER. I honestly would take any class she teaches. The class is fairly easy if you study the study guide she posts-they are so helpful. She makes the class so fun and she is hilarious. She gives e.c. opportunities..4 tests including a final (non cumulative) and a paper. TAKE HER you won't regret it!!!!

She is a great professor, overall. Her lectures are interesting and she is a fair grader. She does ask some tricky questions on her tests that you will NEED to read the book for. She wants to know that you are studying so she will ask very detailed questions. But she offers some extra credit. Take her!

Her lectures include a large number of personal interjections, but she makes the class pretty interesting. If you don't have the book, this class will be very tough to pass. She gives out great study guides and makes obvious what will be on the tests. She gives out many chances for extra credit, so take advantage when possible.

While the actual lectures can be and usually are a bit boring, shes a very good teacher and has a lot of knowledge on what she's teaching. She's more then willing to give any sort of assistance or guidance and acts like a mother towards everyone.

She is an amazing professor and you can tell she's passionate about the topic. She adds in personal stories and talks directly to students and makes the class so much fun. I actually look forward to going to her class.

I really REALLY liked Dr. Shifren. I thought she was so nice, helpful, and quirky. Her tests, however, were a lot harder than you would expect. She would add random facts from the book, that she knew nobody read. However, she gives up to 8 points extra credit, and will add points to the tests if enough people get a question wrong.

Take 203 with Shiffren. Sit on the waiting list and do whatever it takes. Easy A. Four exams, the final isn't cumulative and one paper that's about your life so it's easy. She gives 8 points of extra credit and adds points to exams.

Shes an amazing instructor She truly wants you to do your best and wants you to make good grades. attendance is taken. She Gives 8pts extra credit , reviews exams & gives pts if majority got the same question wrong. Her finals are not accumulative, i would suggest skimming the book, she puts short answer questions on the exam, bullet pts accepted.

If you have taken PSYC 101 this class is pretty much a repeat. The lectures are kinda boring if you already know the information. She posts the power points on black board, if you use those and the exam review you'll pass the tests no problem.

Shiffren is great. This class was so easy. She puts all the PowerPoints on Blackboard and laptops are allowed so I rarely took notes but I have an A in the class. The class consist of 4 exams including the final (non-cumulative) and one paper. She does take attendance though. Show up , review the PowerPoints, do the study guides for exams and pass.

Amazing professor! Gives real life experiences with lectures which makes students stay engaged and participate more. Powerpoints are uploaded to blackboard. Give 8pts extra credit. You need to read as well as pull info from powerpoint to pass her tests. Also need to go to class, short answer questions come from videos on slides.

Lectures are BORING,and very vague never came to class and i managed a B-. 3 exams, a final and an interview paper. she also gives X-tra credit randomly in class. Study the book and you'll pass exams, they are very material specific 30-40 Mc, 10 Short answer. her study guide is very helpful

Shifren is a very nice professor, she is willing to help and has available office hours. Attendance is "not required", but she takes attendance sometimes and gives extra credit. For the exams, you have to study. Don't just show up to class, read the book also, her exams are not easy, but they are reasonable. Overall, would take her again.

Dr. S is so sweet. Her lectures aren't the most engaging, but she does keep everything relevant which is nice if you're a gerontology major or in the field. She brings treats a lot and really cares about her students. 1 easy paper and 4 tests with very specific study guides. I barely paid attention in class and still got A's on every test.

She was excellent! Gave clear grading criteria, welcomed questions, and explained topics thoroughly. There were 4 non-cumulative exams (including final) and two papers to write. She provides in class and outside of class extra credit opportunities. Her grading turn around was pretty quick. We got exam grades back usually the next class.
