Very well, and its a fun class with here never boring

I think this teacher is very helpful especially when you have questions about labs or homework problems.

Very cool woman. She obviously loves chemistry and teaching.

I highly recommend Mrs. Loomis. She provides great study guides, and study sessions. Made class really interesting! I felt smart when it was over :)

Mrs. Loomis was pretty helpful when I wasn’t understanding the material the 1st few weeks, I would come in early to her office and she would go through the material and explain it again. The class was not easy, but she is a good teacher. If you are having difficulties let her know and she will try and help you.

Great teacher. Incredibly organized & makes good use of D2L. Expectations clear, study guides helpful. Wants her students to succeed. Very enthusiastic about subject matter (in a good way). I definitely feel prepared for the next course level.

Wonderful. If you feel you are not good at Math, she'll make you understand math better than math teachers. If you want to continue in chemistry take her for 1020 and you'll come out feeling better than ever.

You don't know something, ask her and she'll clarify it for you.Do the work and study hard.She does mark points off with your work.Make sure you put units.She won't make it easy all the time.If you ask her a question she doesn't know in lecture, ask her to google it, she likes learning as much as anyone else. She's a great professor!

Although she is good teacher, you have to be prepared to take her tests. The quizes you do online are easy but when it comes to her tests, be prepared to study for stuff that was not assigned. You are given more things you didn't study for. Her review guides are no help and she doesn't give you a final exam review guide. It totally sucked!!!!!!!!!

She is a good teacher. I wish she would of taught 1041 and 1042. She is a much better teacher than Joann Pfeiffer. Just cause Joann pfeiffer has Phd doesnt mean anything. Loomis explainds lecture well and also helps in lab. She used to teach organic chemistry lab. I don't know why they got that blackburn dork to teach it now.

She was a great teacher! she related things to the real world and had a lot of in class examples that were fun and made everything easier to understand

Very cool lady, laid back and likable. She's great at relating the coursework to every day examples, she makes a hard class enjoyable. A great deal of material is covered, no time is wasted. Don't miss lectures and study for all tests because what you learn in chapter 1 is used later on the final.

Mrs. Loomis in one word is an OUTSTANDING teacher! She loves doing what she does and she does a GREAT job at teaching Chemistry! She uses real world examples in her lectures and will stand on tables to teach. Helping you succeed is one of her biggest priorities, so ask for help! Read from the book and do homework and you shall succeed :) Have Fun !

WHAT AN "OUTSTANDING" PROFESSOR! She makes any of her students to develope more interest in learning chemistry to even a higher level. She is a wonderful teacher and gives you a real hands on learning experience in both her leacture and Lab. She demonstrates every thing she teaches and strives for her students' success. I loved Loomis!! She was very helpful in and out of class!! This was Not an easy class, but if you work hard you can do well. I had to study a lot for her tests, but she was always willing to help if you had any questions!

Mrs. Loomis is a fantastic teacher. I have never taken a chemistry class prior to this, so I was very intemidated before I came to class. But after the first week of lecture, I understood full well what we were learning, and she was very helpful. I would recommend taking her in any of her classes because she is just an amazing teacher.

She's a great prof, really cares about the success of her students. Tests are easy as long as you understand the materials being taught, no tricks it's all straight forward. Plenty of x-credit opportunities. Very approachable, doesn't make you feel dumb, she really wants you to understand what's being taught and succeed. I really recommend her!!!

Loomis is an AWESOME teacher. She is considerate of students, and shes very caring! Shes passionate about her teaching, and makes sure that everybody understands. Very approchable and a bit goofy, but awesome. she actually makes you want to learn. overall, take her class! If youre starting Chem for the first, take her! Shes thorough and clear.

Mrs. Loomis was a wonderful teacher and definitely sparked my interest in the world of chemistry! I appreciate her teaching style, but above all else, she corrects exams and posts either that day or the next! Unheard of! Just for that she will always be one of my top teachers ever...

Knows what she is teaching. VERY helpful and approachable. Keep up with online hw. Posts old exams to help study, also has a peer tutor. Attendance not mandatory, but if you miss, you fall behind! Makes the formulas relate to everyday life, keeps it interesting everyday. Take advantage of all the helpful resources, you'll need them if you're new!

Great teacher! tests were hard but she provides old exams and does a study review the class time before the big test. Very helpful and always encouraging to seek help or feel free to drop in her office. I hardly ever needed to touch my book!

Awesome teacher. I have never taken a Chemisty course before so I was a little nervous but she is a great teacher and is super helpful. Read the chapters, take good lecture notes and study hard..You'll get an A! Tests are not hard if you put the time in to studying. Best teacher I have had at Century so far!

Nice lady, super helpful, wants you to learn and succeed. Unfortunately, 50 minute class periods aren't enough to cover such a broad topic like acids in one day, then be drilled on it in the exam. Plus OWL (online homework) sucks and is not help.

I walked into this class oblivious to chemistry and left feeling like a rocket scientist. If I had Mrs. Loomis earlier in life - I would have gone to Medical School. She was all over wonderful!

She was an awesome teacher. She is willing to help you and make sure that you understand the material. She helps with the online homework, and is always going over the hard questions in the homework & sometimes even doing it together. She is funny and kind. I would have her again anytime!

I was very nervous about taking chemistry. I did very bad in it in high school, But she made it much more easier for me. She was helpful in all aspects of the class. She made sure you knew how to do everything & did reviews after each section which helped a lot. I would recommended her for anyone who is not good at chemistry! She was also very nice

Professor Loomis is a great professor! I never understood chemistry until I had her. It is NOT an easy class by any means but she makes it a lot easier to understand and is very helpful with amy questions you have. I took it in the summer so it was very fast pace but she made it manageable. Very kind and wants you to understand, and truly cares.

Seriously amazing professor! I took her in the summer and thought it was going to kick my rear, but she made it so understandable. She helps with homework and makes sure you understand. I wish I could have her for every class! She's awesome! Take her :) oh and I hated chemistry...now I'm not nearly as intimidated by it!

She is Very passionate about her teaching and it shows. She is willing to help if you do not understand. the material is a lot to cover but if you take notes or if you have had a recent chemistry class you should do okay.

Loomis is challenging but not tricky. She's also pretty freakin' hilarious! With all chemistry, it requires a good algebra base to be successful. There's a lot of tutoring help and opportunities for extra credit. Keep up with reading and assignments and you'll get a good grade in this class.

Tests are tough but if you stick with the class long enough, scoring B's and even C's on exams doesn't mean you can't still get an A in the class. lots of extra credit Loomis really wants you to succeed. makes herself available to students way beyond expectation. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

She makes herself very available to you. Always willing to help. Loves her job. If you take advantage of her willingness to help there's no reason you wouldn't get an A.

Best teacher I have encountered. Good mood, and a good sense of humor. She usually has office hours every day, and on Mondays she will have an optional study period in the lab room (if it is open). Would recommend.

Loomis is great but her class is hard. I have never worked so hard for a good grade. She has loads of office hours if you get stuck. There is a lot of math and if you have never taken a chem class before it is tough. Do the online homework and quizzes, read the book, take notes in class and study for exams, they are a big part of grade.

Professor Loomis is fantastic. She really cares about her students and making sure they get the most out of her class. Make sure you go to lectures and ask questions and you will do just fine. Cannot praise her enough!!

Good teacher, goes through material really fast so your better off reading the textbook for a better understanding. Very picky grader lots of opportunities to pass if you do all the homework, quizzes, worksheet, easy extra credit and go to lab you'll pass. Tests are tough but you can get c's or D's and still pass class with a B

great job teaching CHEM. she is quirky but very smart. willing to help all students succeed. At the beginning of semester she asks if its too easy for you to go up a level; making it seem super easy and it may be easy on first day but gets harder as semester goes on so don't be fooled. Tests are challenging but doable. Listen and take notes!!!!

She is an amazing teacher. She always makes sure that you understand the material before you leave or if you don't she will always make time to explain it to you. Exams are easy if you do the online homework. Gets harder towards the end but just stick through it or go to tutoring. I never took any chemistry classes but she made this seem easy.

There were times I was scared out of my mind that I was going to do terrible but got help outside of class, did all my assignments on time, made flashcards to study, and did all the extra credit opportunities. This is an effort class. I truly believe anyone can be successful in her class if you are willing to put in the time and effort.

Chemistry is a very difficult course however, Kim Loomis is a very thorough Instructor. You will learn a lot of content in one class setting at a fast pace! So attendance is very mandatory. There is plenty of homework so prepare yourself! Overall, Mrs. Loomis is very understanding, she is willing to help her students succeed! Take her!

Professor Loomis was a wonderful professor and made, what can be a very challenging subject, interesting and approachable. She is incredibly knowledgable and very much so wants for her students to understand and thrive within her class. I have deep respect for Prof Loomis and highly recommend!

She made chemistry so easy. Very informative about the subject and genuinely cares about her students. Not much for homework, but if you find chemistry to be more challenging, you need to attend lectures and labs. She is always willing to help and is usually available when you need her.

Ms. Loomis is an awesome teacher! She does not teach the lecture portion of CHEM 1041, but she does the lab portion. She always gives a clear demonstration at the beginning of lab of what the experiment is and is always willing to help and answer questions. She responds to emails quickly and is very kind. Tough grader but worth it.

Well. The class average was around a 66-70% on exams. Very tough lecture and goes very fast. Spending time outside class with flash cards is a must to understand. Homework is online- lots of it. She is easy to talk to and has office hours right next to lecture room. Great teacher that cares about students

I loved having her as a professor. Really funny and offered a lot of extra credit. Went fast through lectures and you didn't have that much time to take notes, but the slides were online. Approachable and encouraged you to come see her in her office to get help. Tough grader but it was well worth it. Super flexible with lab make ups. Fast grader.

Mrs Loomis is a great chemistry teacher. I took chemistry in high school (6yrs ago) and she made it a lot easier to understand even though this class was more in depth. Fairly tough grader and tests are pretty hard too but she's happy to help with any questions if you ask.

WHOLE CLASS average ON EXAMS Exam 1: 72.97 %, Exam 2: 68.97 %, Exam 3: 62.13 %, and Exam 4: 54.11 %. That should sum up your semester. Very thorough lectures so I give Mrs Loomis credit for that, therefore she makes you work for your grade! She changed the exam questions in ways you cant cheat which is understandable, but harder exams crunched!

She was helpful when I had questions, had insightful answers to thoughts not relating to the class, but chemistry in general. She Is very old school, but fair. Not an easy A, but I know I earned it because I worked for it. Her class makes you proud when you do well, and lets you know where you messed up when you don't do so well.
