I thought this professor was very interesting and knowledgeable in regards to the material. I may have known most of the material from other classes but this professor taught it in a fresh, new and real way. Her midterm and finals were challenging.

Professor Quinney is very concise (take notes) in her lectures. If you show up to every class and take good notes, your outside the class readings can be very light as you read just enough so you have quotes for your papers. She is very cute and has a great classroom demeanor!

Quinney is one of the most enthusiastic history professors at Cal State, and she's always willing to go the extra mile for you if you show that you're dedicated and hard-working. As long as you're trying to understand the big picture, she'll try to make it more clear for you. Plus, she's not too bad on the eyes either!

Take her whenever you can... Once you take her first test, the rest are ALL the same style. Kinda ditsy when it comes to prep for class, but for that she's leanient for us.

Very easy class. Be prepared to take a lot of notes. Class discussion can be very interesting, as she entertains almost all opinions and interjections. A bit "ditsy" at times, but very caring, very polite and very nice. I can't think of any reasons why a person wouldn't like her- she's very chill and laidback and yet passionate at the same time.

This class is not easy, but it's not super hard either. If you read the book, and take notes during lecture you should be fine for the most part. You only write 3 papers the entire course which is nice, and you have at least 3-4 weeks to do each paper. I'm glad I got Quinney for History.

Love her! Midterm and final were multiple choice. She pulls all of her midterm and final questions from an online study space that she gives the URL to. So if you study there you know all of the questions and answers. 2 essays- she's an easy grader. Have to submit a document analysis every week- 1 pg, credit no credit, doesn't mark you if its late.

She is amazing! This year was kind of odd because she didn't require a textbook for the course, which made it a bit more difficult. The online textbook was too brief and hard to work with. However, her lectures cover everything you need to know! She really cares and does anything she can to help her students succeed. I would recommend her any day!

Take her GBST 300 online summer course, you will not be disappointed! Weekly one page essays and discussion board posts. Two essays and a more detailed final discussion post on how globalization relates to you. Very interesting class and focuses on real life application - take it!

She was great! Class was easy, and not much was graded. She was super sweet, and it was easy to ask questions in her class. Just 2 online exams, and 2 essays all semester.

Dr. Quinney was an amazing professor. The class was completely online during the winter intersession period, so it was only four weeks. However, the textbook was online--easy to navigate through. It was ust four discussion posts, two essays, two exams, and a project at the end (could change but this is what it was like for my class). Very caring!

She is a real gem. A great teacher. I highly recommend taking her.

She is an amazing teacher and truly cares about every student. We only had to do 3 assignments for her class and they were super easy. She canceled the final I think because of COVID-19 so that was a plus too. Just try to keep up with the readings and you should get an easy A.

Mrs. Quinney is really nice. Good teacher, and helped me a lot. Cares about non-school stuff, so you can focus on school, and learn more about academic success. Try, and you'll be fine.

Very caring and has a great personality. Class is super easy, all you need to do is follow the prompts and put in effort for the discussion posts. There are two essays, standard university requirement, super easy and with plenty of time to do them. She gives you every opportunity to get an A, so there is honestly no excuse to get anything less.

Absolutely wonderful teacher. I have had a couple of classes with her and each has been such a delight. She is very knowledgeable and respectful. She really cares about teaching and your success. Highly recommend!

Had Prof Quinney for HIST 131 & 347 asynchronously over the summer. It was a 5 week accelerated course, but she made it as best as she could. Very organized, and very clear from the start about what you need to do to get an A. Super accommodating, responds quicky, and truly wants her students to succeed. Rounds up grades. I would take her again.

Dr. Kimber Quinney is easily one of the best professors I have taken at any college. Her lectures encourage participation, and they are very interesting. She also shows you respect. She is very kind, caring, and passionate about her work. As she is passionate, her lessons are thoughtfully planned out. Take her if you have the chance!

Professor Quinney is one of the best History professors at CSUSM, I have taken three different courses from her and every time she remains kind, helpful, and extremely passionate. Both in the classroom and online, she was always accessible for whatever questions or concerns were had. She's the reason I changed my major to history!

Super sweet, kind professor. Genuinely cares about history and is so understanding when it comes to assignments and tests. Attendance isn't mandatory but there are certain assignments that you have to do in class to get credit. Two papers, two exams. Skip a paper if we volunteered on Chavez day. Pay attention to syllabus, do your work & you pass.

Professor Quinney is amazing. She cares about her students. 2 exams during the semester and 2 historical thinking essays. Exam is pretty much from the textbook reading. Highly recommend to take her class.

Professor Kimber really cares about a student learning the material. She uses a textbook called YAWP, and I actually enjoyed reading it! It was very informational, and the homework was very closely related to the text. The text is available online so you don't have to purchase it. Only 2 exams, 1 digital history project, and weekly posts.

Prof. Quinney is incredibly kind and passionate. Her lectures feel like casual conversations, yet you learn so much. Assignments are manageable, and unstuck ai was a great study aid. Highly recommend this class!

Professor Quinney is very kind, but she lectures quite a bit; however, note-taking isn't required. You get a one-page single-sided cheat sheet for the midterm and the final. Although her lectures aren't mandatory, she sometimes reviews for tests, so I recommend going. She is understanding about late items or makeups as long as you communicate.
