The class is really tough but she is a good teacher and really is interested in helping her students succeed.
I suck at any sort of math- seriously its ridiculous. However, this prof was extremely helpful and I ended up with an A. She's does a great job at explaining why you are doing what you are- which a big plus for me. I have difficulties remembering what to do if I don't know why. Cannot recommend highly enough.
She is an excellent teacher for a very hard subject. She made me even understand how to do it.
I've never been a fan of math, but Prof. Hadfield made everything crystal clear. She's engaging in class, which is quite a feat considering its size. If you're taking Stats, it's Prof. Hadfield or no one else.
Easy to understand. Tests and quizzes are always relevant and easy. If you can't make it to class, it's completely possible to teach yourself! She is GREAT
I enjoyed this class a lot! She is an awesome teacher. If you want to know who to take 1050 from, look no further- she is awesome!
Hadfield was an awesome teacher. She was really clear and always willing to help answer questions. If you have any concerns, she will do everything to help you.
Professor Hadfield is about the only good math professor in the USU math department. She is very good at explaining the subjects, always willing to answer questions, and is interesting to listen to even for someone who dislikes math like myself. Tests are straightforward in relation to what she teaches in lecture. She is an outstanding professor!
SUPER good. At everything. she was always fair, sometimes more than fair on quizzes, such as taking questions off that a lot of people missed. she was always clear about test material, and while I wouldn't say the tests were easy, I always knew she wasn't going to throw curve-ball questions. Highly recommend.
Before this class I was terrible at math. I was so nervous, but professor Hadfield made it so understandable and made sure everyone knew what was going on!! I can't imagine taking math 1050 with any other teacher--probably would not have passed. I absolutely loved attending her lectures. Who knew a professor could make math fun?
I've never really been into math, and I've taken Math 1050 at another location before and did not do so great at it. I was a little skeptical at the beginning of the semester, but Professor Hadfield made lectures interesting, enjoyable, and she really made sure that everyone in the class understood it. I also had a great recitation instructor.:)
This was my second time taking math 1050 but professor had field made t bearable! Her lectures are clear and she's very willing to help you understand
Amazing teacher I took 1050 before and didn't do very well this time around I did great she makes the most out of a boring subject matter even with questions from people you just know haven't a clue about math. Shes very clear and helps out a ton her help is very limited (huge class) but you have recitation and what not that helps a ton.
This professor really helped me get through Math 1050 and prepare me for Calculus. She does an EXCELLENT job explaining subjects and understands how you learn. She communicates very well and I wish I could take all of my math classes from her.
Go to class and you should be fine!
BEST TEACHER @ USU! HANDS DOWN
Professor Hadfield is amazing! I stink at math, but she explained things crystal clear. She's a super good teacher and personal tutor. I used her a lot during her office hours. I got an A, which I haven't gotten in math for a long time, and I learned a ton.
Relatively easy for a math 1050 professor. Avg score on the last test was 85%. She teaches principles well and tries to keep the class entertaining. She has open office hours and really wants to help you and for you to learn. grade is based purely on test and quiz scores. No required homework. You can miss some classes as long as you do homework.
Hadfield is an awesome teacher. She'll reinforce things that you'll be tested on, and tests are a breeze. I'm lazy so I never studied and I breezed through with a B just by coming to class and doing the bare minimum on the homework.
Well she made me develop a loathing for math and all things related. If you enjoy boring lectures that will just be covered in recitation the next day you'll do great! Mostly just a horrible subject.
BEST PROFFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD!! would take this class again just to have her as my teacher if you're gonna take stats she is a must! If you struggle with math she makes it easy to understand and provides lots of ways to help you! you can get an A in her class if you want it. she's makes lectures entertaining I overall really enjoyed this class!
I have always struggled with math, but not with Kimberleigh! She is such a good professor and knows how to teach math for sure. If you learn best by learning each step in a problem take this class with her. There is a quiz every Friday.. that kind of sucked but it helps for studying!
The lectures are good for such a large class. A lot depends on who your recitation leader is though. Quiz once a week, and if you do well on those it helps balance out a bad test score. 3 exams. Uses Canvas in case you miss class. Tests weren't too bad, pretty standard difficulty. You'll do a billion times better if you do the optional homework.
I enjoyed taking Math 1050. You can tell she's taught for several years and she enjoys what she does. I've take math 1050 several times, her's is hands down my favorite and the one I learned the very most in. She's not out to get ya, she's willing to work with student's and does what she can to help you get a good grade.
This class was very hard and has a lot of homework associated with it if you want to pass. Kimberleigh Hadfield is very nice and not boring. The class is just hard.
Ms. Hadfield is a great professor and teaches the material so it is actually understandable. With it being a stats class the material is a little more difficult, but she is a great teacher and actually cares about you doing well.
BEST MATH TEACHER. If you do your homework, you will do great on exams. She expects a lot from you but is an amazing teacher. Loved loved loved her.
She has to teach a huge group of students which is hard, but she does well with it. She teaches clearly, but sometimes she takes forever on problems that don't need that much time. She is also really funny and entertaining. She makes stats not so boring.
There is lots of reading from the book, but those are just to get you to prepare for the lecture. Very willing to help you outside of class. There is a recitation, which is a repeat of the lecture. It is a hit and miss with how good the TA is.
Professor Hadfield is the best. The class itself is pretty hard and lots of work, but she wants you to do well and wants you to go to her for help! Just stay on top of all the assignments. Don't get behind or it'll be really hard to catch up! She is hilarious though and I LOVE her.
CAREFUL. Somehow this professor has her negative comments removed. I didn't like her class, wrote a review. It was there for a few days, then it was removed. (And no I didn't use profanity, name-calling, or derogatory terms).
I got mono and then pneumonia at the end of the semester and she understood and helped me out so much. I would honestly be best friends with her if it weren't weird. I've heard other STATS 1040 classes are easier than hers, but you will learn the most in this one. It's easy material, just a LOT of material.
This class was fun! Professor Hadfield is funny and always has something to make the lectures interesting and applicable. Very good teaching skills, lessons were easy to follow.
Awesome teacher. Really cared about her students and you can tell she wanted everyone to do well. Approachable and helpful, if you put in the work you can get the grade you want.
She is a great teacher, who really explains things.
I'm really bad at math. Like, can-barely-do-multiplication-without-a-calculator bad at math, no-math-class-senior-year-of-high-school bad at math, but I LOVED her class. She's hilarious and teaches the concepts very well. She's very thorough. 1045 is a five credit class so you do have to put in about 10 hours of work a week but she's so worth it.
She is really good at walking you through everything. Lots of practice problems in class, along with recorded lectures. She's pretty clear, and will explain again if there's confusion. She's also really funny! There is a lot of homework, but it's doable.
She explains things clearly. Goes at good pace but if you dont read you will be lost. It is a hard subject but I wish i could have her for all my future classes. She does require you to work for it.
Professor Hadfield did her best to make such a painful class a little less painful. She knows what she's talking about and you can tell she loves it. Hard class. Fair grader.
She is enthusiastic every day! Go to class and she will teach you what you need to learn to be successful. If you choose to skip class, you have to learn everything out of the textbook on your own. Tests and homework are very reasonable.
Yes this class is super hard but Professor Hadfield is INCREDIBLE. She is so caring, and teaches so well. I was nervous for the class but she made the material easy to understand. 1045 requires a recitation class which is super helpful to get extra help. Get ready to work hard, and with her help, you'll definitely pass the class because she cares!
I learned to appreciate it math this semester. Kimberleigh is one of the best professors on USU's campus and I promise, if you reach out to her and ask for help - she will provide it. Be prepared to actually READ the textbook, mine is literally falling apart from how much I've used it. Put in the work and you will get the grade you deserve.
I was dreading having to take this class but Prof Hadfield ended up being one of my favorite professors. I took AP stats in high school, didn't take the exam though, and Prof. Hadfield taught so well that I actually understood what I was doing for once. There is a lot expected of you but she is more than fair with grading and extra credit
This class was really difficult for me, but Prof. Hadfield was seriously so awesome. Attendence isn't super mandatory but you'll be lost if you don't go to lectures. She's homework heavy but it's actually really helpful. Be prepared to put in about 10 hours outside of class every week. The class is tough but she was hilarious and very helpful.
Explains clearly and records her lessons so you can go back and watch later, there's homework almost every night but it's not overwhelming, and by doing it you really learn. there is a lot of out of class help offered and the textbook is a must. skipping class won't affect you too badly but there is credit received for going.
Kimberleigh is a phenomenal teacher. She has a very clear and specific grading system planned which allows the best success in passing the class. She's funny, smart, genuinely passionate and caring... I would've taken her for all my math classes if I could!
Stats can be difficult, but with this professor it was a lot more manageable. She provides lots of opportunity to ask questions and receive help.
Prof. Hadfield is amazing. This is the second time I've taken this class and I feel like I can actually do it. Stats by itself is the worst, but she makes it feel very easy and possible. I expected to give up and be lost a lot time ago but the final is next week and I feel great about what I've learned. She's amazing!!
I hate math. However, Professor Hadfield has a great way of teaching so that those that do enjoy it and those who don't have a way to it least understand the material. She is really good at explaining things so ask her questions. Would recommend her to anyone who needs their math credit and wants a good teacher for it.
Professor Hadfield is amazing! If you have to take statistics, she's the one you want to take it from. She gives you every chance to succeed in her class and really explains material well. You have to work for it, but she made taking statistics bearable. Highly recommended. Would definitely take another course from her.
Professor Hadfield is amazing! As a teacher, her lectures were great and she has good techniques to help understand the material. She also posts all of her lectures online so you can rewatch them. I had a really hard thing happen in my family this semester and she helped me so much and was so understanding! I highly recommend taking stats from her.
I was never good at math but Hadfield made me feel like I could pass. She sets the course up for success. Go to class, do the homework quizzes, use the math lab and you'll pass.
She is an excellent professor. First time I've taken a math class and felt smart. There is reading and homework required every week but it is not too much to handle and if you do them you will succeed. I truly believe this class is set up to help students succeed. Don't skip your lab classes they really help!!
Great lectures, really takes time to make sure that you understand the material. Very good at meeting with you for concerns you may have about the class and she has many TA's that help a lot in recitation.
Easily one of the best professors out there. Her class is set up for success, aka you have to try to fail this course. It is lots of learning at a quick pace, but recitation sessions help tons. Many resources available for help and she genuinely cares about each student individually. Highly recommend!
Most effective teacher I've had in entire school career (16 years). She LIVES to see you have "ah ha" moments... sign of a TRUE teacher... and she is super enthusiastic about it, too, with a great sense of humor. Gives you every chance to succeed. She ALWAYS answers emails. She is the STANDARD by which I measure ALL other teachers now. The BEST!!!
This teacher is amazing, and I had her 4 days a week, for Stats 1045 (in-depth 1040). She cares so much for students and wants people to succeed. She has a lot of homework in the class, but it is only to help you with the tests and finals. Going to class matters and so does participation. Take the class seriously and put in the work.
Class can be hard but Professor makes it so much better! Recitations aren't necessarily mandatory but you should go because you get hep on homework, questions answered and they're are recitations packets which are graded and can only gotten from the class. Professor is really funny and nice and relates course material to life & also answers Q's.
She's a great teacher
Trust me, you want to take from her! I honestly don't think I could've survived Stats if it wasn't for Prof. Hadfield! She seriously knows her stuff and makes it so clear. If you do the homework and do what she says to prep for the tests & quizzes, it's seriously so easy to pass! She is so fair & is so willing to help. Definitely take from her!!
Professor Hadfield is amazing! The class is set up to help students succeed and even though I'm not a huge math/statistics guy, this has been one of my favorite classes this semester! She is also very caring and approachable if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out! Definitely take from Prof. Hadfield if you can, you won't regret it!
The class is made to be very dense. That being said, Hadfield does a good job making the class as fun as possible with many resources to use. You will not get higher than a D if you don't attend class everyday. Attendance is measured harshly through an app. All tests and quizzes are also graded harshly. Don't take more than 2 other classes!
This is a tough class, but Professor Hadfield really wants success for all her students. She's very positive and was a great professor to have during covid because of her flexible nature. Highly recommend.
I hate math and was not excited to take a stats class. Professor Hadfield made my experience with stats so fun and easy to understand. This class was a huge confidence boost because of how Professor Hadfield treats her students. She is a star! I would recommend her class to anyone!
Kimberleigh is a fantastic professor. She really wants her students to succeed and the way she sets up her class reflects that. There is a lot of assignments, but it helps to have other things contributing to your grade outside of tests. She gives tests and homework retakes. If you attend lectures and do your homework, you will succeed.
Never done well in math, was bummed when I saw I had to take stats, and was scared to take it during covid while also taking 18 credits. I went into the class thinking I'd be lucky to get a C but got an A. Because of her I felt more than capable to succeed. She did everything possible for success. Retakes on tests, quizzes, and homework- an angel.
She is literally the best professor I've had yet. She cares about her students and you can tell she actually wants each of us to succeed in the class. Her lectures are so helpful and she explains everything so well. I wish she could teach all my classes. She provides everything that anyone will need to do well in the class.
Professor Hadfield is an amazing stats teacher. Take her class if you can!! I would 100% take her class again. She has so many opportunities for improvement and she really cares about making sure her students succeed.
Pro. Hadfield is an amazing professor who truly cares about her students. The class is hard, be prepared to read, attend lectures, and study hard. Pro. Hadfield provides many opportunities to improve your grade, such as dropping the lowest quiz and test scores and curving the test. Highly would recommend her if you want or need to take stats!
Prof Hadfield is the best professor at USU. She offers one retake on each test except for the final, which she prepares you REALLY well for. There is a bit of reading, one chapter + a quiz before every class, but it doesn't take long and it's really helpful to have read before class. She is personable and always made me laugh! I LOVED her class.
This is an outstanding teacher and probably my favorite teacher at Utah State. She makes sure that her lectures are planned and well explained. She takes the time to make sure you understand what's going on. The class isn't hard, it's just time-consuming. Homework and a few reading quizzes are due each week, but other than that great class.
Professor Hadfield is an amazing professor! She knows her stuff and can teach it clearly. She is really good at answering questions and making sure that students understand what's going on. Participating in class and paying attention in recitation make this class a breeze. I highly recommend Professor Hadfield, she is the best!
This class was good and super easy to get the hang of. You need to study for sure but I love how well the class is designed and the professor makes it really easy to succeed and do well. Highly recommend
Professor Hadfield is an awesome teacher. She really cares about the students and about them learning and understanding the material. She is kind, patient, and also hilarious. I would definitely take a class from her again! The textbook is just needed for the chapter readings, otherwise she explains how to do everything in class!
Kimberleigh is an amazing professor and teaches the curriculum very well. I was scared of this class before, but after taking it I realize that statistics is actually very fun! She gives you formulas and calculators for the tests. Not only that, but she also allows you 1 retake per test except for the final. Amazing professor.
I don't love math, but this class was amazing. I've never felt so heavily supported in a math course. She lays out the expectations clearly. The way it's set up makes it 100% possible to do well if you do the work. Attend/participate in lectures, do the reading/hw, and go to recitation and you'll do great. I have nothing but good things to say
The content is pretty easy and she explains things super well, it's not hard to pass the class. Definitely one of the few teachers in my life that made me enjoy doing math. She also has a great sense of humor and lectures are pretty easy to stay attentive in
Professor Hadfield is the best math teacher I've had. She is very sweet, caring, and explains things thoroughly. She makes math applicable and tries to make it fun. This class is still really hard, but she allows 2 attempts per test which was incredibly helpful.
Professor Hadfield is the BEST professor I have ever had. She wants you to succeed. There is weekly homework and quizzes, but it is very manageable and helpful. She prepares you so well for the final and provides a ton of resources to help you understand the material if you are struggling. I am not a math person, but I really enjoyed this class.
Professor Hadfield is an amazing professor! She gives great explanations and teaches thoroughly. I have always struggled with Stats because I overthink the basic concepts--which reflected on my grade. Make sure you follow a long during her lectures, if you get even a little behind--it is easy to get lost.
Super easy class if you pay attention in recitation.
Kimberleigh was very passionate about her job and cared for the students. Although this class was difficult, there were plenty of resources she provided for the students to succeed.
Professor Hadfield is the best math teacher I have ever had. She is caring and wants everyone to do well. If you go to class and recitation there is no doubt that you wont pass her class with a high grade.
if you're going to take stats 1045 take it from Kimberleigh!!! She explains things so well and is really there to help. Her lectures are posted but don't fall behind. She gives you so many resources if you don't understand what is going on. You have 2 attempts at each test excluding the final, which was incredibly helpful. She is amazing!!
She was a great professor. She was good at teaching, go a bit opinionated about data at times, but overall really good at teaching you what you need to know. She also was pretty consistently there when you need extra help. She offers one retake per test, which is a game changer.
Professor is so good at explaining hard topics and is very willing to help if you just give her a heads up. Lectures are recorded so you can go back and review which was so helpful before tests and you get retakes on tests, quizzes, and homeworks. She built this class to help everybody succeed. Stats was not easy for me before taking her class
TAKE STATS FROM KIMBERLEIGH! Her tests are fair, her lectures are interesting, and she's just all-around incredible... I honestly have no complaints. The final is worth 30% of your total grade, but she gives you so many resources to prepare for it. As long as you stay on top of assignments and pay attention, you'll have no problems in this course.
You have to understand what's going on or you'll fail tbh. Attend class or at least watch the recorded lectures, read the textbook thoroughly or go to the help sessions through your TA, and study for exams. The final was kind of difficult, so work hard on studying for that as well. Loved Prof. Hadfield, she taught the difficult material very well!
It is a harder class, but she is super good at helping you and making it easier
I was extremely nervous about statistics, but the professor was extremely easy to understand. It's a heavy workload, but it's completely doable. Just stay on top of your work and turn in stuff on time and you'll be fine!
I loved her class. There was a bit of homework but it was not hard to stay ahead. Her lectures were amazing and she explained the material very well. Tests were on 2-3 sections, and you got 2 attempts. There was plenty of time to study and prepare for a retest. Highly recommend and if you put in the work, this class is an easy A.
King, caring, passionate about her subject, sometimes lectures and slides were hard to follow but she takes time to help you understand, all the work throughout the week was easy and she and her TAs are super helpful!
Dr. Hadfield is a great professor! Not many people went to recitations but I found them to be very helpful. You also get participation points for going. This was definitely my most homework-heavy class, but if you stay on top of your work it's not bad. Tests have 1 retake, and she will give feedback on questions you missed which I liked.
She has about 5 exams, but lets you have one retake. However, the final exam is cumulative and worth 30% of your final grade. She doesn't really give extra credit and says the retakes inflate your grade so there's no need for extra credit. Your grade will plummet if you don't practically get a perfect score on the final.
Dr. Hadfield is really funny, she's honestly such a diva. There is a lot of homework but it's really not that hard. She gives you so many resources to help you which is really nice. She seems to really care about your success and wants you to do well. You are allowed retakes on the quizzes which is really nice.
AMAZING PROFESSOR! I would recommend Dr. Hadfield to everyone. I am not a math lover, but she taught the material very well. Clear that she is passionate about this subject and is willingly to help every student succeed. There is a ton of homework but it is worth it. While attendance is not required, GO TO CLASS! Also rewatch her lectures!
There is a ton of homework, like basically every day of the week. Despite that she is really helpful and will always offer support if you need it. Tests are kind of difficult, but you can retake your quizzes if you do bad. Honestly, I am not a math person and so I was kinda worried for this class, but Professor Hadfield made this class easy enough.
For this class, it is required to take a zero-credit 3-day recitation for an hour each day. Honestly, the lectures did not help, and I learned more in the recitations. In the lectures, I didn't learn much, but the recitations and explorations really helped. Homework every day takes a good amount of time. I don't recommend this class for freshmen.
Dr. Hadfield is really nice, very funny, and a great professor. She teachers very well, but the lectures are incredibly long, and I had a hard time showing up every time.
This class is hard, but Dr.Hadfield does a wonderful job teaching. STAT 1045, is a 5 credit class so expect 6 hours a week of in-class time. Some people show up and study 10+ hours outside of class and struggle through the class. Expect around 4 hours of homework a week. Showing up is detrimental to being successful, after that its manageable.
I took STAT 1045 with Hadfield and she was an amazing professor. I went in to the class nervous and hesitant because it is such a heavy course load but she is an excellent teacher. She created so many resources that made it easier for us to succeed.
