Lectures are pretty dry, she kinda teaches like a substitute teacher who reads off the slides and rewords things a little. Upside is her exams are fair and pretty easy with a couple questions from the textbook. Very minimal paper writing and participation doesn't matter. Also uploads the lecture slides before class so skipping shouldn't hurt.
You can tell shes a new teacher but shes great at getting the point across with easy to remember examples and real-world connections. She posts slides before class and the eclass is very organized. Very friendly and able to answer questions quickly but throughly after class. I really enjoyed her class and her passion.
Kim is a nice lady but can be a bit unclear at times. When asked a question, she often has to refer back to notes to answer. Midterms and final were all multiple choice questions. Questions were a bit tough and more often than not, had two possible answers. When asked why there was a better answer, she provides an unclear justification.
I loved the course material. Kim was definitely a newer prof (she even said she was about to graduate with her PhD). I had her in spring 2019 and loved her class. Her lectures can get a little boring when she gets to a topic she isnt too enthusiastic about. If you study from the textbook and her slides, that is an easy C+ at least.
She tells you exactly what you need to know for each exam, especially the final, and exam questions relate to her notes well. No textbook needed! She explains things in class well so if you're confused, go to class. The one paper she assigns is a breeze and she straight up tells you she marks easy. Highly Recommend.
I really liked her class. A friend recommended her and I'm glad I listened. She is a good teacher and takes the time to explain things that she plans on testing. She doesn't do dates. If you go to class and pay attention, you can pass easy. If you don't come to class and just read her slides you can also pass easy. Good class. Corona cut it short.
Kim is a fairly solid choice for 372 as she is quite knowledgeable in the subject matter but she often gets confused when asked questions about content and during lecture in general. Found that sometimes the simple things were over-explained but the complicated stuff was brushed over. Super approachable and extremely nice. Overall, not bad.
everything that we were tested on was straight from her lecture notes. the slides she gives in class so just condensing them yourself will ensure you do well!! also in comparison to other 104 classes we had a lot less writing assignments which i liked.
Can be really boring, sometimes I have no idea what she is saying. But she is friendly and accessible outside of class. 1st midterm was easy, high class avg. For the 2nd midterm I had to read the text to make sense of material. Notes can be sparse so you will need to take your own. Sometimes it's hard to pay attention bc I found lectures so boring!
Her midterms and finals are very straightforward. She tells you what's gonna be on the test and what's not. Super sweet! Definitely recommend. I used the online quizzes from the textbook, and some of the test questions were from there (not a lot).
Considering the material isn't very hard, she does a good job of relaying it to the class and makes it even easier to understand.
Overall for being an online class, she did a good job! Her lectures were straight forward and she supplies extra videos and content to help with your understanding. Super easy to get ahold of and accommodating if you need something.
Dr. Campbell was so good for online classes. Her lectures are always concise with great examples that are interesting. She will respond to emails quickly. For online, her test format was open book (but at a short time limit) but all the questions are very straightforward and class average VERY high (around 80!) Definitely recommend.
Dr. Campbell is fantastic! She's super passionate about what she does, and it shows. Her lectures are super detailed, and she is very fair in that she usually won't test on what she doesn't cover in lectures. Textbook was extremely long, but luckily skimming in combination with her lectures was enough to understand everything. Highly recommend!
Overall a Meh prof. There was no teaching at all, a zoom call just to ask questions. She isn't awful but just can't make up her mind what she wants to test you on. You have to read the whole textbook and all her notes cause questions on her tests can come from anywhere. GET READY FOR TESTS! Quiz every Friday, midterm wasn't the worst.
Dr. Campbell was a wonderful professor! Her lectures are easy to follow and she does not simply just read of the slides. She always explains everything and gives awesome examples which helped me really learn the information. She is passionate and knowledgeable in her field. I found her tests to be totally fair if you put the effort into study.
Kimberley had very informative lectures but you also need to read the textbook, quizzes are based off of both! Weekly quizzes, research participation (easy marks), one written assignment (EASY), 2 midterms, 1 final. The midterms/final were difficult due to the amount of questions and limited time. You gotta study hard for a good mark.
The class consisted of 2 midterms (20% each), research participation, quizzes (15%), a written assignment (5%), and the final exam (30%). The exams were multiple choice with a few short answer questions. Study both the textbook and her notes and you will do well. She is very nice and accessible outside of class!
Dr. Campbell's video lectures were a bit long but totally valuable. She provided examples for every topic and made the information easily attainable. Her tests were very fair, and you can tell that she genuinely cares for the wellbeing and success of her students. She also was very accessible. Recommend.
Dr. Campbell is really nice, all her lectures asynchronous. The videos were a bit long but informative and she always sounded excited about the material. You do need to buy a textbook and connect for 15% of your mark weekly quizzes though! She is excellent at responding to emails and really cares about her students and wants you to be successful
This course is an easy A if you do your readings in the textbook and dont procrastinate. Her prerecorded lectures are really long and boring but theyre not necessary to watch. If you stay on schedule, the chapter quizzes, midterms, and final are all fair and easy. Shes also very accessible and sends frequent reminder emails with important info.
Her class was low stress, low effort, open-book tests that were pretty reasonable. You don't need to watch her vids if you read the textbook, which she made us pay $100 in order to do quizzes that could've easily been on eClass. My other profs made things free to help students struggling financially. Mandatory textbook in a pandemic? Read the room!
She recorded all the lectures in advance so you don't need to go to the class, only go when you have questions to ask. All quizzes and exams are open-book. The quizzes are tricky which need you to read the textbook. For the exams, just read her slides and you shall be fine.
Great professor and definitely made the course more interesting and easy to follow.
Amazing prof! Made course content very interesting and understandable. She gives examples and further explains topics which was such a big help. Midterms were open-book and very straightforward. Quizzes were a bit tough but easy to pass if you use the textbook. Would take again.
Nice prof, typically explains things pretty thoroughly with real life applications. Generally a very organized asynchronous class. Really my only issue was the quizzes, which was provided by a website that accompanied the textbook rather than herself.
Campbell was sweet with online but was hard to get a hold of. This was my first year of university. Textbook was a must. We did quizzes every Friday. Her videos went OVERBOARD!!! it was so long to sit through her YouTube videos of the lecture. she went way over the time limit then normal for having class during the week.
Her class is pretty easy and low stress. The textbook is very important as her weekly quizzes are solely based on the textbook, however the textbook is very helpful and the quizzes are fair. open book tests with very straight forward questions. Read the textbooks and take notes and this class is an easy A
Slides are great and have pretty much all the info you need, enjoyed only having to do the midterm and final for marks.
She mentioned that she makes her slides accessible for those who are colourblind, which made me respect her much more (I'm not colourblind, but she is considerate of those who are). Speaks very clearly in lecture videos, and her exams and assignments were fair. Overall, she is an amazing professor and is enthusiastic about what she teaches.
The textbook is a must for this class. She will take out the main ideas from the textbook, expand on them during class, and provide more examples. Classes were asynchronous, you can speed up the videos on YouTube and she talks clearly even at 2x speed. Assignments were graded harder than expected but the exams and quizzes make up for those grades.
She is such a gem! Her exams are open book and the questions are VERY straightforward. Studying her notes and skimming the textbook examples should be more than enough. Her lecture videos explain concepts really well. Definitely recommend!
Good prof, explains concepts clearly. Lectures drew a lot from the textbook, and honestly you could get away with just reading the text. Tests were easy as long as you knew the material i.e. no trick questions or questions about super specific stuff.
Campbell was a new prof but she was amazing! I truly loved her class and would take any other class with her whenever possible. She makes sure she hears students opinions and takes them into account. Very easy to understand
This is the best class I have taken by far. She is accessible outside class, always gives great feedback and is always willing to help with comprehension and understanding. She wants you to do well and designs the quizzes so that you will be able to adjust your studying before midterms and finals. I felt super prepared for the final.
A very kind professor.
Dr. Campbell's class format was greatly appreciated. There were no dreadful group projects and everything was laid out in advance so you could work through the material at your own pace. She even moved the final exam for me when it conflicted with work! Very approachable and helpful!
My favorite type of prof clear grading criteria, soft tests that follow lectures, simple lectures and not too info heavy. Weekly eClass quizzes that were due before midterms, no mandatory textbook, and she genuinely made things easier for students and I love her for that. Open book tests, no surprises or hard time limits. 10/10 would recommend!
Honestly, she's the best professor anyone could ask for. She's very clear with instructions. She treats students with respect. Her lectures are super interesting. Best explaining with the usage of examples that literally stick in your mind. I didn't have to email her once because of how smooth the class was. Absolute gem!
Nice, caring prof. 3 assignments (10% each), chapter quizzes all open book (15%), midterm (20%)/final(35%) were a breeze. No proctoring and replied to emails/concerns fast. Put in the work (read the text) and you'll do really good in this class. One of my fav profs during my degree.
Can't really ask for more from an instructor like Kimberley. She puts effort into her teaching, creates rubrics that evaluate students fairly and reasonably, and also test extremely fairly. In Sp21, exams were open-book and not proctored. Exams came from a variety of exam banks. The Psychology Department needs more instructors like Kimberley.
One of the best profs out there! Minimal effort class. She really cares about her students and is passionate about psychology! I have taken two psychology classes with her now and she has been amazing for both of them!
Straightforward and approachable. The workload was interesting and fully open-book!
Her lectures were only slightly boring, but she is really passionate about her work. She responds to emails/forum posts pretty quickly and provides good feedback. The textbook is relatively cheap ($60), and it's interactive which helps with memory. Homework is 50% participation, midterms and final were open book, it's pretty hard to fail.
Dr. Campbell really cared about her students. Her lectures were very easy to follow, and she explained things very well. She does test out of the textbook as well, but as long as you read over some major definitions that are not discussed in lecture you should be good to go.
Easy class if you watch all her lectures and take notes since exams are open book! Shes very passionate about what she teaches! Reading the textbook and doing the textbook questions were sometimes tedious though. Shes very nice and respectful towards her students!
Overall a pretty easy course, however, the textbook readings were quite long and a lot of the information was not tested on. Quizzes and exams were open-book which was super helpful. Lecture videos were also pretty interesting and are good for clarifying what you have read from the textbook.
Surprised her rating isnt higher. She was super accommodating and her asynchronous lectures were crystal clear. Tests were open book and though she did test on the textbook, thats very common for psych courses. Take her class you wont be disappointed
Dr. Campbell was nice and responded to emails quickly. this course is very textbook heavy. I never went to class and did it all on my own. as long as you have self discipline u should do fine. procrastinating is probably the worst thing u could do since the textbook chapters + lecture videos were so long. overall an okay prof and class.
Took Psych 104 as a GPA booster thinking I wouldn't have to put that much effort, which was a big mistake. However, Dr. Campbell's lectures saved me from reading the textbook- just make sure you take down notes! She made this boring subject actually fun and interesting! 10/10 would recommend.
I will say the course load was very heavy and condensed for an intro course, requiring you to learn many terms of Psychology. However, Dr. Campbell is aware of this and really implements good teaching strategies to help you succeed. All exams are open book, but in exchange have many questions in a short time frame. You can tell she cares.
She's super caring and understanding, she'll help you out in any way she can. If you watch the lectures you'll do fine on the midterms and finals, the textbook isn't necessary. She may gives the quizzes on top hat, then you have to pay which is really annoying. But other than that, she's a pretty good prof who responds to emails really quickly.
She explains stuff easily and her exams were fair. But there were a lot of textbook readings that weren't really tested on even though the textbook was mandatory. But you need the textbook for quizzes.
I enjoyed this class. It wasn't too much work. The quizzes are very easy as long as you listen to the lectures and same with the midterms, they weren't too hard. One written assignment worth 10% which wasn't too long a page max. Honestly this class was a GPA BOOSTER! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
This class was so easy; one chapter of lectures per week, one quiz per chapter, 1 (v. short) written assignment and 2 open book online midterms. Her lectures are sometimes a bit boring but she keeps you engaged by explaining concepts and not just reading off a script. Quizzes are super easy and midterms are not much harder.
Chapter quiz each week, 2 midterms, cumulative final, and a super easy paper. The course is pretty hands off, with pre recorded videos each week, which you can do at your own pace, along with the quizzes. Amazing prof with detailed/entertaining lectures, always explaining topics in detail. She genuinely cares about topics and her students success.
Definitely one of the easiest courses here at the university! More material to learn compared to Psyco 104 but does not require tons of effort. An easy paper, chapter quizzes, two midterms and a final! Dr. Campbell is very caring and respectful towards her students. I recommend this class!
I had a pretty heavy course load which affected my experience, but this class requires more diligence than others. You are graded on class participation, an oral presentation, a course paper, and 3 exams. Also note that there are student presentations almost every class. If you need to take this course, make sure that you can prioritize it!
Ms Campbell is a very sweet caring prof. Very accessible via email. I found her grading VERY fair and exams very reasonable. Only complaint is the assigned articles that we had to read were far too much and took up a LOT of time. I HIGHLY recommend you make notes on each article as you will def be tested on it. Overall a decent 400 level course.
Technically in-person but she posted vids super quickly after so 10/10 accessibility. Great prof but make sure you attend the lecture in some way since her slides are super bare bones and she explains most of the topics out loud. Assignments took some thinking but were really quick, and exams were a good mix of basic and conceptual questions.
Pretty simple class. No hard assignments. If you want to lessen your load or just get a boost, its a good class for that.
She is an awesome professor who is super understanding an accommodating! Her exams were open book but don't go in without studying as there is strict time constraints so you have to know your stuff. She is always available after class to answer questions and she provides you with examples that are easy to understand when she lectures. Great class!
i love this prof!! so funny and easy to listen too, very knowledgable and acessible for questions i would say if u have questions to go to office hours and avoid email as she is a busy prof and will answer faster in person. 100% recommend
Psy 275 Take her. She is so fantastic, very clear lectures, very educated, knows what shes talking about, and is super flexible and helpful. workload is light, with one low-stakes written assignment and exams. Course is heavy but she makes it so much better
I took 105 online. Her recorded lectures were inclusive to all students with or without disabilities which I really appreciated. The way she talked through the lectures was calm, clear, and enthusiastic! She truly knows the content and explains it so well that it draws you in! The homework is light and she is flexible if you need accommodations.
Really great introductory psychology class that I took online. Very organized professor, proficient in uploading recorded lectures that were very detailed and engaging. You could pass the class off of the lectures alone. Textbook was required to access online quizzes worth a small percentage of the overall course mark.
She is probably the best prof I have had since I started uni this semester. She is so passionate about her work and makes you so intrigued with the course you are doing. It was online so I never met her face to face but u got nothing to worry about. Her teaching skills are elite!!!!
Amazing professor! Explains content super clearly.
Amazing. The way her lectures flow and the way her course is organized gives you an amazing grasp of each concepts and somehow they just stick in your head. Her tests are very fair. All her lectures are recorded as well.
Slightly disorganized at times, but overall a caring and knowledgeable instructor. Took the three hour evening class so lectures were long, but everything was recorded meaning I could watch later and didn't have to attend in-person. Both midterms and the final were open book, with the option of writing either in-person or online.
Online asynchronous class so there was no interaction with the professor but she responds to emails. Her exams were open-book and included information from the lecture notes and a little from the textbook. Need to watch the lecture videos because she includes information that is not on the slides.
The course was graded by 2 midterms, a final, and chapter quizzes, all open book with the option of writing online. Attending the lectures is optional, as they are all recorded and the slideshows are posted. Very nice and understanding professor, who responds to emails. The 3 hour lectures are hard to sit through so try and avoid that timeslot.
Lectures were thorough and explained concepts well. Course was very flexible, 2 online/open-book midterms and open-book final, along with chapter quizzes. Easy to do well as long as you keep up with the lectures and textbook chapters. Some concepts weren't discussed in lecture but were tested on so having the textbook was a great help.
Excellent prof! She explains concepts well, her notes are thorough, and she posts them. She also posts all lectures so you can watch them whenever you want instead of going to class. The textbook was not used, so only buy it if you learn by reading. All tests, including the final, were open book with the choice to write in person or online!
Dr Campbell was a great prof. The way she spoke was very clear. She records her lectures so it gives you the flexibility to look over it again in the future. The topics were boring (to me) but overall, it was a decent class. Would take classes with her again.
very easy class and very good prof, she really cares about her students and the course structure reflects it (she records and uploads her lectures, allows you to complete chapter quizzes anytime you want up until midterm/final, etc.). The material is easy and the course is doable through just slides and textbook, but 2x speed lectures is best.
Dr. Campbell is so amazing! 100% recommend her for PSYCH 105 online and asynchronous! Easy if you watch her prerecorded lectures and quick to respond if you email her!
Campbell records and posts all lectures, all quizzes and exams are open book and can be done online! She is super enthusiastic about her work!
Really not my favorite. The material sucks and the exams are awful. Low averages and too much memorization. Also hard to follow during lectures. Really hands off so don't expect any help.
Notes are extremely dry and boring but she teaches and explains everything very well. Her exams (including the final) were online and very straightforward.
Super nice!!! her quizzes are easy too and they're open book
Easy A class exams are all open book and lecture content is easy to follow and you can do it at your own pace. Online homework assignments are also easy to complete.
Dr. Campbell is very nice and clearly enjoys what she teaches. Lectures can be a bit dry at times and long but as long as you pay attention and take notes you'll do well. Lectures were also sometimes posted late. Exam questions tended to be more about applying concepts rather than straight memorization.
great prof. lots of ways to improve your grades through participating in experiments and doing online quizzes with unlimited attempts. records her lectures and uploads on youtube. responds to emails. sometimes, goes off topic but that helps students understand concepts better. overall great prof and great way of teaching.
Very fair tester. All the lectures are posted online, she doesn't reuse old videos or old test questions that don't apply. Just walked out of the final and can say that none of the questions were out to get me, it was all content-based and fair.
Dr. Campbell is a great prof! The course is fully asynchronous which is great for those who need a "lighter" course load. She tends to go on tangents often during video lectures but some may find it entertaining, as I did. Course work is not as heavy and all that is included is online assignments/quizzes, 2 midterms, rp credit, and a final.
Was in her online section and exams are very straightforward, open book, and online. Quizzes are very specific - from the textbook. Fell behind our lecture schedule so posted a lecture or 2 on a weekend that were over 50 minutes long to compensate.
She is everything I think a psychology prof should be. I found her to be accommodating, engaged with the material, and made learning this course really enjoyable for me. I feel like her exams were set up for you to succeed, and she really does want you to do well in her course.
This class is pretty simple. Just watch the lectures and take good notes. I found that she did not test from the textbook but more from her own lectures. She did have a few questions on the second midterm and final that I don't think she covered but this course was still pretty easy. Make sure to do the Achieve and RP because those are easy marks
the class is fairly easy, and i like that the textbook assignments and midterms make the final less make-or-break (only worth 30% while the midterms are worth 25% each), and the exams tended to focus more heavily on new content, so you don't have to stress about relearning small details from the first chapter. flashcards are recommended
Straightforward recorded lectures (online class) that were complimented well with textbook reading. Exams were open book and fairly straightforward application style questions. The written assignment (10%) was a bit strange and didn't have super clear marking criteria, but it's not worth a ton so it shouldn't affect your grade too much.
This is one of my favourite professors. She records all the lectures and leaves them up on eclass so that we can use them to study, also nice because attendance isn't mandatory. She explains things so clearly through a variety of examples, that she makes the course as easy as possible to understand. Also very well spoken.
Her lectures have very complex wording, her exams are in-person and they're "supposedly" similar to the chapter quizzes, but I found this to be false. Assignments take a bit of effort but are only worth 2.5% each. Exams are difficult and many people do not get over an A- in this class.
As a person Professor Campbell is lovely, I just personally found her lectures not very engaging. She also makes the online textbook mandatory as some assignments are through the publisher's website (not cheap). Reading the textbook wasn't even very helpful as her test questions are specific to her lectures and are application heavy.
Kind but for teaching, found that she often went on long tangents and was very monotone, making it boring + hard to absorb the material. She made the textbook mandatory but her tests did not have material relating to the textbook. Overall, felt that teaching was monotonous + hated the additional expensive 3rd party program required for her class.
If you're going to be a professor be clear on what we're being tested on. There is no guide or document that details the learning objectives of the course. Furthermore, if you're going to test application of concepts, give students materials to practice with and no the achieve isn't practice since she doesn't cover most of the textbook material.
Lectures felt like she was being forced to stand there and talk. Have to pay $107 just to do your assignments.... what? I'm already paying to be here. Will never understand why she just doesn't make them regular e-class quizzes. Def money-motivated... attendance isn't mandatory but the recorded lectures have an ad every 5-10 minutes. Never again.
Tests are concept based, but she fails to explain the concepts in lectures, focusing more on examples, which don't support learning as the concept was not explained clearly. Test questions are intentionally tricky, testing reading comprehension over understanding. Be prepared to wait weeks for an email response and over a month for grades.
Exams are brutal & she doesn't prepare you for them! Majority of the questions are application based but she never goes over the important stuff & rather gives a ton of examples & goes on tangents that don't help. Also takes forever to reply to emails/questions or doesn't reply at all. Assignments & exams take forever to be marked with 0 feedback.
The best way I can put it is that I like her as a person but not as a teacher. Our class was behind all term and then it was a big rush to finish at the end. Her midterms are not the best and she tests on things not talked about in class. Definitely talks about a lot of unrelated examples so it becomes hard to tell what is important and what isn't.
Don't blame the prof if you got a bad grade; everything tested on her exams reflected the lectures, and she told us many times that she enjoys application-based questions. The class average on MT #2 was 75% (on par with other 200-PSYCH classes), so please don't let ratemyprof reviews scare you away from her due to a few students' bad experiences.
Person below me did not take psych 381! Please do not take Psych 381 in person with Kim Campbell. The averages were in the low 60s/high 50s and the class is not curved. Meaning that class average was a C- for a 3rd year psychology course. Stay Away!
I am typically an A student and I am performing worse in this class than history and biology courses. I feel that no matter how much I study, I get many questions wrong on the exams. It seems that the test questions come from an external source and are very confusing and do not always match what we learned in class.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH CAMPBELL, I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE IT WITH HER YOU WILL REGRET IT SHE DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY SENSE OF WHAT TO STUDY FOR SO YOU WILL HAVE TO STUDY EVERYTHING.
She is a nice professor but I found her lectures really boring and monotone, she would over-explain some concepts that wouldn't be tested on. I feel as though she never replies to the question forum and does not provide sufficient practice material for the midterms.
Extremely nice & approachable, but tough exams! Said we didn't need the textbook but online quizzes & exams included stuff never mentioned in class. Exams are very application based & there are no practice questions to help us prepare. I knew the content, but exams made it hard to apply the knowledge. Very low avgs on exams but high grade cutoffs.
Class average was 2.5, which was surprising. I think she had to restructure her previously open-books style to bring down grades. Frustrating that graded homework and practice tests were based on textbook material and only worth 5% but very time-consuming, then exams were 100% lecture. Nice woman, not my favclass(was her first time teaching it tho)
I genuinely enjoyed Dr. Campbells' class. Tests were fair, no surprises. Midterms had MC and written, final only had MC. Lots of practice quizzes worth 15%, but they're easy and a great grade booster. She was always willing to answer any questions that you have, and you can tell she's very passionate about her field. Would take again!
Prof super nice+caring. Class itself tough but manageable. Felt good going into exams then felt like random things never spoken of came up(even went back to check my notes). Exams itself tough-final exam was wicked. Don't stress the Short answer tho theyre simple. recommended text but don't need it. Don't take this class as an easy grade booster
I've had Kimberley for PSYCH 275, 281, and 212 with an A in all classes. Although her lectures get a bit boring sometimes, she makes them easily accessible on youtube. If you actually listen to her lectures she gives hints on what she would put on exams (don't listen to the bad reviews below!) As long as you study u should be good tbh.
too hard on purpose
I took psych as an elective, expecting it to be easy because everyone said it would be easy and exams would be open book but not for this professor. She used bubble sheets and it has to be IN PERSON. The other professors have their exams online and open-book which was so unfair to us, that had this professor. The recordings are helpful tho.
She's the best teacher I've ever had—very clear and an amazing explainer. She also records all her lectures!
Lectures were long and boring but they were recorded. Assignments were good grade boosters but sometimes expectations were unclear. I appreciated the quizzes as it helped to understand each topic. The lowest assignment and quiz is dropped which is nice. She is really good when it comes to answering questions, better in person then email
Dr. Campbell gives great lectures, she's great at explaining concepts and providing relevant examples. She also drops exam hints during review sessions. Her exams are fair and reflective of lecture material.
I took this class online asynchronous and Kimberly was amazing. This course was easy, interesting, and stuck with me. She gives amazing examples. But there is a textbook with weekly assignments, not too bad, but do them!!
Amazing professor for psych 105! I loved her. All lectures were posted online and were easy to watch and understand. We were graded by 2 midterms, achieve quizzes and learning curves, modules, and a final. Great class all I needed to study was flashcards.
She's a great prof! Explains concepts in a simple way with clear and organised slides, plus helpful diagrams. Her exams are fair. Midterms are mostly MCQs with 2 written questions, and the final is all MCQs. The questions are application-based, so understanding the concepts is key. Overall, a great prof and an easy course!
Found this course to be repetitive and slightly dry. That said, Dr. Campbell is a good instructor. All lectures are recorded, so you can watch later at 1.5x speed. Assignments, quizzes, and exams were pretty easy. Took her a while to grade written work, but she teaches multiple courses per semester so it's understandable.
I took this class during the spring term, and I found it to be very easy, as well as very practical. I would highly recommend it!
Excellent prof! Makes it very clear that her exam questions are mostly application-based, so understanding the concepts is critical to succeeding. She sets clear expectations and is very knowledgable. Highly recommend this course and prof if you are interested in science.
The class was hit-or-miss. Lectures were sometimes dry, but the professor was willing to help. The textbook was mandatory but not fully covered. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for practice and exam prep.
Dr. Campbell is fabulous. I had her for the first time in 104 & am now taking another class with her because I enjoyed her methods as a professor so much. So much of her course design appeals to people with short attention spans, she is a dream for neurodivergent students. She is also very understanding, personable and helpful if you take the time.
She explains things really well and doesn't just read from the slides. She goes over things multiple times to make sure we understand, and she clearly outlines what will and won't be on the midterm.
She's a great prof! The content can be repetitive and dry at times but not hard to comprehend. She also records all lectures and uploads them which is great if you missed a class or for review! She answers all questions asked, email can take some time since she teaches many classes. A review said it's hard to get an A but it's not, just study haha.
Professor Campbell is an amazing teacher who actually cares about her students. Instead of just focusing on grades, she really wants you to understand the material, like she's one of the few professors who prioritize genuine understanding of the concept over tests and grades. Definitely recommend her!
All she talks about is her birds. Her lectures are so boring, but she does seem to care about her students and is willing to help during office hours. She gained points by recording her lectures so I could listen to her in 2x speed and review content I did not understand. She's not the best, but she is not the worst either.
I didn't often go to lectures because she posts them online but it's very clear she cares a lot about her students through her extensive responses to questions in class, after class, and over email. My only critique is that she spends too much time on very simple concepts and occasionally gets sidetracked so the last couple chapters were rushed
She is an awesome prof, she really seems to care about the students' learning. The lectures can sometimes be a bit monotonous and repetitive but she makes sure you properly understand the material and posts all the lectures and notes online. 3 midterms (MCQs and SAQs), 2 written assignments, chapter quizzes (MCQs) 1 final (MCQs). Loved the class :)
overall really great. the content of the course is dry but easy, she also does not require a textbook which is rare in psych courses. the graded material was also very fair.
Relatively easy class by putting in minimal effort. She really cared about our learning and genuinely wanted everyone to succeed. However, her lectures can be a bit repetitive so I'd recommend watching the recorded videos on YouTube at 2x speed. Best 15/16 quizzes (15%), best 3/4 assignments (15%), midterm 1 (20%), midterm 2 (20%), final (30%).
I have taken her classes twice, both being different ones and this one being my second one and I would rather not take a class with her again. All she does is go on and on about the same topic for so long that it just becomes boring, exams are too hard with such little time given and she does not seem cooperative. Would not recommend her to anyone.
Long lectures but easy to follow notes. She records her lectures so thats useful. Assignments and exams were straight forward, she'd constantly hint at what would be tested during lecture. People complain that her lectures are boring, but you can just watch her lecture recordings at 2x speed.
I got a B in this class, but the semester I took it, a lot of external factors caused me to not do too well at uni. However, Dr. Campbell records her lectures and posts them all on Canvas, so missing class is no issue. Her midterms are typically around 40 questions with 3-4 written responses, but straightforward and doable! Tends to ramble…
Her exams were difficult, and you need to pay attention to her in lectures and do practice problems so much to get a good grade. Do not recommend for people who want an easy credit!!! take it online!!!!!!!
she's an easy prof, exam questions are straight up, I barely show up to class, I just read the textbook and go over the slideshows and I manage to get a good grade, everything on the test is based from the lecture slides, and she also posts videos of the lecture, in order for you to get a bad grade in this class you have to try to
Great professor. Tests are only lecture based and her lectures are recorded!
Dr. Campbell was a fantastic and caring prof! her lectures were engaging and the midterms and final were fair (60 application-based questions 3 written). She records her lectures which is helpful when you need to refresh on concepts. She rambles a bit, however it usually was on topic and helped my understanding! Also very accessible outside class!
Very nice and obviously cares for your success! Records lectures and has straightforward exams
She makes you sign up for this third party app that records quizzes and like most of her class content is on there. It's kinda expensive too, but free through one of the libraries. Very nice lady, and her lectures are recorded.
very nice prof, would take again. Exam questions are very straightforward.
A very caring and passionate figure, highly recommend. Her workload is nothing crazy. Like any other class, just do your small quizzes, read your notes and you'll be perfectly fine. Reach out to her if you have any questions and she will help you in a timely manner.
Lectures are straight forward and are always recorded!
She was great! She explains concepts extremely well so you are able to understand them, she uses real life examples and gives you many hints to what would be on the test especially for short answer questions. She records lectures, nice if you can't make class. Her test questions are super straightforward and easy to answer if you use her notes.
Her lectures aren't super engaging, but she occasionally drops hints about what's on the tests. There is an easy 10% in participation marks from completing Achieve assignments, and she drops the lowest marks. TAs are hard markers on the written part of midterms though, and they're looking for specific terms.
Very nice and easy to understand, even though the material is pretty dry. She does try her best to keep lectures engaging and drop hints about material/concepts she tests heavily on. Overall a pretty good prof, and she even records all the lectures so attendance isn't always required, and is very gracious with Achieve assignments/practice tests.
Dr. Kimberly Campell is a very kind professor who genuinely wants all her students to succeed. Her tests are very fair, and based off of lecture material (so make sure to actively listen.) There is a textbook used for achieve quizzes however, students aren't actually tested on textbook material. Not a hard class if you keep up with lecture content!
She posted the lecture recordings online which was nice. However, she was incredibly slow at grading, and we didn't have almost any of our assignment grades back until after the final exam. Also does not respond to emails quickly (or in my case, at all apparently). It takes her 1-2 weeks for a regular email to receive a response.
