Fun, energetic, always something new. I love this class!!
BEST math teacher ever!! love her! so cute and funny. makes math enjoyable... easy A
One of the best math teachers I have ever had. Her charm and enthusiasm makes class go by quick. Highly recommend for Trig.
Great professor! Very available and helpful. Tests are fair- no suprises, no tricks. I took this class online and Professor Kelton went out of her way to make herself available if you had questions. Waiting to take the next required math course so I can take it with her.
So far she's been the best math teacher at ACC. She is so funny and cute, I love her. Take her if you want a good understanding of math.
Absolutely the nicest professor I've ever had. I wish I could take her for all of my math class. If I could I would change my major to math. Her class was an easy A for me, and I really didn't study that much. She makes math very approachable, and easy to understand.
She is a GREAT teacher. She explains really well the material and answers any questions students have as clear as possible. There are 3 projects but there are easy. I should have taken her class the 1st time I would have passed. I was able to understand all the material when I took the class with her. She is also very funny.
Phenomenal Teacher! Never makes you feel stupid. Obviously loves teaching math and is very enthusiastic. I would recommend her to ANYONE.
Great teacher! Love how she wrote down exactly what to take notes on and what to know. Great example problems, homework is necessary, but a cheerful attitude and clear explanation made math more enjoyable
By far the best math teacher I have ever had. She explains every concept in step by step detail. Example probelms that are done in class are pretty much what are going to be on the exams so try to show up to every class. With her great personality you will want to come to class everyday anyway. Highly recommend for any math class.
I took her class distance learning style. She was quick to answer emails and provided perfect study guides for the exams. I recommend!!
Literally one of the best math teaachers I've ever had!!! As long as you come to class and do the homework you will get an easy A! Quizzes are given once every chapter and are 1 or 2 questions...very easy! She wants to get to know her students and knew everyones name by the second or third week! I wish she taught Math for Business and Economics II!
Very friendly, upbeat professor who genuinely enjoys math and teaching. She is very receptive to questions during and after class, so don't be afraid to ask. The test questions are always straightforward--she won't try to trick or challenge you, so if you can complete the homework you can do well on the tests.
She follows the book. The tests are quite hard, especially the final. If you have a heavy course load or work throughout the year, then it will be quite difficult to keep up with the homework course load. You can turn it in late though, no points off. Tests HAVE to be taken in testing center, it's really annoying. She's nice though.
BY FAR THIS IS THE BEST MATH TEACHERS IN ACC. HER LECTURES WERE REALLY CLEAR AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND. HER TEST WERE BASED FROM THE LECTURES AND THE HOMEWORK, SO ALL YOU GOT TO DO IS MAKE SURE YOU COME TO CLASS. THERE ARE NO SURPRISES ON TESTS WITH NO IMPOSSIBLE QUESTIONS ON TEST.
she is great easy and helpful teacher . love her, tests were easy if you do the homework and the examples she gives in the class. it was an easy A for me.
If you're looking to take a math class, you have to take Mrs. Kelton. She is the best. Really cares about her students. It's a pretty easy class even if you're not a math person.
Awesome teacher!
She makes math so easy! Her teaching style is so welcoming and is willing to help in whatever she can. She replies quickly to emails and is flexible. Homework can be long and tedious but it prepares you well for the tests. Tests are very easy and quizzes are straight from the lecture that day. Excellent professor!
Professor Kelton is a pepper! She is fun, loves to interact, and is a really great math teacher. I didn't do well since I never used any tutoring sessions or opened the book to practice. But, if I did I would have passed with a decent grade. I would take her again if I can. She will keep you interested!
Mrs. Kelton is amazing! Very enthusiastic & upbeat, which makes lectures interesting. No long, monotone nonsense. You can tell she really loves math & teaching. Took both trig & precalc with her. Because of her, I changed my major to math. This is coming from someone who used to hide their math HW in elementary school. I hated math before her!
I had her for trig and precalc. Best professor I've ever had for any class. She's great at teaching the material in an understandable way and breaks it down so you understand concepts. Tests can be tricky and make or break your grade. She's not an eye sore, either. Highly recommended. I wish she taught calculus.
Who knew someone could be so enthusiastic about teaching math? She was very clear in lectures and kept it interesting. My only issue with homework was that not all the types of the problems assigned would be on the test. However, all professors do that. I would've gotten an A if I improved my work ethic and got better sleep. Fantastic professor!
Took Trig and Pre-calc with Kim Kelton. She was amazing and I always looked forward to going to her classes. She's never in a bad mood and always brings up random jokes and stories during class. I'm dreading my upcoming calculus class because I know it's going to be hard to find someone as good as her.
Great teacher! Very relaxed with due dates. Answers emails within the week. Would take again.
Wonderful teacher. I took her for Trigonometry and PreCal back in 20132014. I was able to make A's in her class becasue her lectures were fantastic. She's also very hillarious and always says math problems are 'cute' and called tangent lines 'sneaky snakes' and she just has a lot of fun teaching. You can tell!
This teacher is fantastic- the math that you are learning in this class in the most useful math you could possibly every learn and apply to the real world- she is converses with you more than she lectures you, and if you write what she writes on the board, you'll pass her tests easily.
Amazing professor! I took her for precal and wish she was my professor for all of my math courses. Truly cares about her students and mathematics as well. Her class makes sure you know the material and covers the logic behind the math. I loved her class. Would highly recommend! (p.s. won't be an easy A)
She is amazing to say the least! She helped me transition back into class after 15 years. Always very helpful, responds promptly to questions or emails, and very understanding! I would most certainly take any of her classes!
Kelton is a delight to be around. She is a normal person who just loves math. Very easy-going. I recommend not missing classes, as she sometimes gives for-credit assignments to be turned in before class ends. A tough class, but passable. If you don't understand something, ask for help. Resist the urge to procrastinate, stay on top of studying.
Great professor! Very helpful and accessible; gives quick responses to emails. MATD0332 is an extremely remedial class but as long as you do the work, you should have no problem getting a 100. Would definitely take a class taught by Kelton again.
I took this class last semester & I absolutely loved it, which is rare since math is usually my worst subject. Kelton was beyond sweet & so helpful. She knows how to teach a class to students who aren't the greatest at this subject. She gives clear instructions & very helpful assignments/homework. Pay attention, do the work & you'll do great!
Takes the time to send out emails every week to her students to remind of upcoming due dates. Also, reply's quickly to emails.
super amazing teacher!! she really cares about her students doing well and will stay after class to work through problems with you, there is quite a bit of homework but it ends up being really helpful. tests are only over a couple chapters at a time so they aren't too overwhelming.
Good professor. Rushed the first couple chapters, which are important for the later chapters. No extra credit, lots of hw. I spent almost everyday in the learning lab, with half of the other people in my class.
Do not take her. She is a good professor, but she grades way too hard. I received an A only because I worked EXTREMELY hard, and out of roughly thirty students I don't think anyone else received an A.
She's a super sweet teacher. All her lectures are wonderfully organized and not a drag. This class is difficult however, so buy the answer book for the homework and go to the learning lab whenever you can. No test reviews. Quizzes are take home. If you can, use MyMathLab (I kept using free trials) to use the quizzes as test reviews. Very similar!
Mrs. Kelton is awesome! She is extremely organized and makes lectures more bearable by interacting with students and acts like shes learning the material with us. Lots of homework due at the beginning of every week. Do not miss class, she moves fast. Quizzes are take home, and only given before exams as a "review". Exams are frequent and doable.
My only complaint: it took a long time to get test grades back; so long that I would often times forget about the test until I was looking for another grade. The material was very basic remedial math so it wasn't hard, but in my experience, there was very little interaction between the professor and us online learners.
Professor Kelton is great! The material is hard but she explains it very well that is easy to follow. If you don't do your homework or participate in class you won't pass. She does tend to go pretty fast but use your class notes for references. DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND QUIZZES and you will pass.
All of the coursework is laid out in the beginning, so you can either get ahead on work or go at the recommended pace. There is a lot of homework, but it's an online class so I didn't expect anything less! Tests make up a large portion of your grade (70%), but if you study they aren't too difficult. She was very responsive to emails and friendly!!
Professor Kelton is amazing. There is a reason for the rating she has on here. Calculus was a big fear of mine, but I made it through with the guidance of prof Kelton. She explains the concepts clearly and instinctively knows when to reiterate problems the class is having issues with, even when they won't speak up. We are truly lucky to have her
I took this course online so I don't know much about her actual ability to teach. It was a lot of HW/quizzes all on MML, 5 tests but she will drop your lowest one, and lots of written homework! If you do all the homework and understand the material you will do fine on the tests and pass the class.
She is overall just an amazing professor. I absolutely love the way she explains the subject and makes everything very understandable. She is not intimidating whatsoever, the door is open to ask any questions. She is hilarious as well. Although her exams a little intense, if you do the homework and problem sets, you will be golden.
Wow. This woman is an angel sent from God himself. To anyone coming to get this class the second time around or the first time around , take her. She has managed to make Calculus a concept I can grasp. Make no mistake you have to study but she really tries. Excellent teacher. My only regret is I cant take her for Calculus2. Thanks Mrs. K!
This class was an easy A, but included a lot of homework. Professor Kelton gives out a schedule at the beginning of the semester that really helps you stay on track. I put in many hours each week for the MyMathLab HW, quizzes, and written HW, but I guess that is to be expected in a math class. Overall easy A if you do all of the work.
Professor Kelton is definitely the best calculus professor I've ever had. She is so kind and will help if you ask or even make a face. It's still calculus so you'll have to stay on top of everything and study. There is also homework due every class.
Lots of homework, but thats expected with a college level math course. If you are confused or don't understand a topic/section, she will help you. I took her for Intermediate & College Algebra. I am NOT strong at math, but she is awesome and makes you WANT to learn & do the work. Better than most ACC Math professors (& I have had a few). TAKE HER!
Shes very engaging with the class and is always happy to answer any questions you may have during or after class. Explains every problem in a clear manner and has a good personality for a professor making the class interesting enough to stay tuned-in.
Professor Kelton is an amazing professor! She's very caring and doesn't make you feel dumb if you aren't grasping the subject. I would highly recommend taking her for any future math classes!
IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO TAKE HER, DO IT! I missed out on taking her for anything but Calc 2. She is amazing, may seem like a tough grader, but do all the assignments and you'll be fine. Doesnt give practice tests, but will help you make your own study guide which is actually way more helpful. Amazing professor, you won't regret being in her class
This course was 100% on MyMathLab, and there was no lecture from her. It's a self-taught course during COVID for Math 1324. She offers no reviews, and Exams are proctored with a camera. Homework problems are the best way to study, and her exams are heavily based on questions involving word problems, so focus on those word problem Hw problems. I
Very helpful. Lectures are fun and oriented toward the average student, not the AP crowd. The homework is challenging, but the tests (mostly) aren't. Lenient test grading with partial credit-per-problem. Spam refresh on reg day for this prof.
There are no retakes in this class but the final will replace your lowest test score if you manage to get higher than your original lowest. She loves to help out. Her summer class has been 75% my math lab assignments but all hw can be retaken for 100%, except for quizzes and tests. This class was challenging but put in the work and you'll get an A.
I have taken college algebra twice and failed each time. This was my last hope to get a passing grade. Professor Kelton gives really good, clear lectures, very funny and finally made algebra click for me. She was responsive to questions and answered right away. Lots of assignments to build up points for a good grade on tests. I highly recommend!
I took her 10wk self-paced summer course. if you aren't good at math, then don't take the self-paced class. The videos we watched to learn the info wasn't very helpful, but I am good at math so i was able to teach myself. i do think she would be a very good teacher if you signed up for her class that has a meeting. a lot of hw, quizzes, & 5 tests
Professor Kelton is the first and best Calculus teacher I had, she gives amazing lectures and notes. The homework is meant to push you a lot but it is a completion grade. There are problem sets every week which are meant to give you questions likely on the exams. If you ever need help, she is happy to see your faces in her office. Tests are easy.
Professor Kelton is amazing, she is always available for office hours and gives clear & concise instructions on homework assignments. She is a tough grader (she does not curve) but she gives an amazing amount of partial credit for attempting a problem on tests.
Prof Kelton is an amazing teacher. She is a tough grader and her class is by no means easy but she makes learning hard concepts enjoyable and thats a true skill.
if you're taking the online class, it's completely self taught (using mymathlab). the final grade is 80% tests. make sure you focus on the word problems. i really didn't talk to prof kelton at all, but she's available if you need extra help
She would be nice but while grading she is very strict make one mistake and that's It for you. you will not raise your GPA in her class
Professor Kelton is a wonderful teacher. She makes the material easy to understand and is exceptionally good about breaking topics down into digestible bits. I would highly recommend her to anyone, but especially those who struggle with or are intimidated by math courses. She makes it possible to do well, even when you aren't sure of yourself.
This teacher is kinda bad, She DOES NOT GIVE TEST REVIEWS BEFORE TESTS, She expects you to know 9 topics that will be on the test off of your head. She told our class that nothing on the test would be extremely hard and when we took the test everything was kinda hard and most of the class were failing the tests. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!
I took her online business math class and I struggle with math, but she made it so easy. She gives you a week grace period to turn everything in (i turned in like 3/4 of the assignments after the due date and still got a high A in the class). I absolutely recommend you take her course. She is one of the best professors I've had at ACC
Calculus is hard no matter what, but if you really want to learn the material in an organized and fun way, take professor Kelton. She is super understanding about late homework and she really understands how hard the subject matter is. She will not make you feel stupid for not understanding. There is a ton of homework but it's so so necessary!
Take the time to watch Prof Kelton's lectures as they help a lot with the homework. The practice quizzes and tests did NOT help with the exams. Instead, do the homework problems from the textbook. Many of the questions on the exams are from or similar to the written homework and lectures.
Professor Kelton was a great professor! There are lectures available for every chapter, which were very helpful and it's clear that she knows what she's talking about. My only complaint was that this class was very homework heavy and the tests count so much higher than the homework (tests were 80% and homework only 20% of the total grade).
Great professor, very flexible! I took this class over the summer semester and I had to hustle. I was easily doing 20-40 hours of reading, online homework, and written homework every week but I learned a lot. Tests are relevant and the questions are not hard if you've done the work. She wants to know what you know, she doesn't want to stump you!
I'll start this by saying I 'm not a math person and struggle with it. I was still able to do this class and pass. There is a lot of work to do each week and very time consuming, but her lectures are amazing and her tests are much easier than the homework and she is is not a tough grader. It's mostly basic algebra with some finance applications.
In person (online textbook), homework was completion grade. Tests were hard and a mix of lecture notes & homework notes... She is a very brilliant (and goofy :) teacher but her delivery can be a little too fast/not easy to understand right away. She will explain every detail to you, but ask for help in office hours; overall: 8/10 would recommend.
I had to take this class 3 times and had I found Professor Kelton the first time that would not have been the case. She is an amazing teacher and so patient and is so fair with grading. Math is not my strong suit at all but she made it make sense. The lectures connect to the HW and to the tests! I am sad she doesn't teach my next class needed.
Professor Kelton is a great professor. Every lecture has notes you can follow along with her. Lots and lots of HW but it definitely does help get you prepared for the exams which is where most of your grade lands. She is very funny in her lectures and breaks down the content clearly. Put in the work and you'll be fine.
Professor Kelton is the bomb. She made Calculus a lot less intimidating than I originally expected and she is committed to your success as long as you show up and try.
Mostly self-paced, you have online assignments, written assignments, and tests. Its really a doable course load, and the teacher gives partial credit on tests too. I really liked how understanding she was, and how communicative. Overall I would take her again if I needed.
Professor Kelton is very engaging and is fantastic at explaining concepts, and also funny and lighthearted. Calculus is difficult, but if you attend all classes and put in the work you'll be fine. Her tests aren't easy but they're straightforward, they don't contain any surprises. One of the best professors at ACC, you won't regret taking her.
Take this class!! Prof Kelton is the best and wants you to succeed. This class was very doable and not an overload. If you watch her lecture videos and fill out her notes then you will get an A. That is the best way to succeed on the HW and tests. I strongly recommend Prof Kelton to anyone needing this course. If I needed to I would take her again!
Professor Kelton is an amazing math teacher. She can explain a math problem 3 different ways and she makes sure her students understand the content. She makes math fun, not just understandable. She is very accessible and willing to help anyone and everyone.
Prof. Kelton is one of the best professors I've ever had, she is not an easy professor but she is a good one!
She's truly one of the BEST professors I've experienced. If you work to learn the material, you will get the grade you want. A lot of HW, which may seem like an obstacle, but it truly helps you learn the stuff. Attend lectures, manage your time, go to office hours (if needed) and you should be set. TBH, Calc 1 was a lot easier than Precalc lol. GL!
Very well organized, very enthusiastic. Really enjoyed taking this class from her!
This class is such a waste of time. You learn high school algebra, but with 65+ written problems a week. You also have multiple MLM homeworks (10-20 problems each) and a quiz due each week. She over does it big time, and for what? Idk.
The class was pretty easy to understand. For an asynchronous class, she makes it known when things are due and where to find materials.
Great Professor!! If you have the opportunity to take her for CAL 2. DO IT!! She provides very neat notes/good feedback and gives a good amount of HW so be prepare to turn in assignments on time. Study for exams!!
Genuinely one of the best professors ever!
Professor Kelton genuinely made math enjoyable. There is a lot of homework, but it helps you understand the material which is helpful because the class is test heavy. The course is organized, lectures and notes are clear, and Professor Kelton makes herself available for office hours. Do yourself a favor and take this course. Highly recommend!
Took her 10-wk online course and I highly recommend her. Her class has a lot of homework assignments, but they allow you to get the practice you need for the tests. Her lecture videos are optional, but I highly recommend them, as they serve as a sort of "template" for the exams, which were proctored. Put in the effort, and it's an easy A!
Great prof!!!!!!!! I do not recommend 10 weeks if you have other responsibilities it is a lot of work and information condensed but not too bad if you lock in. you DO NOT need to READ textbook, but need it for hw. hw is harder than the tests. No study guide so practice LECTURE EXAMPLES only and you'll pass with an A trust me bro. proctored tests.
Best Calc professor, I took her for precal and calc 2, and she helped me love math. If I could take her again, I would.
Professor Kelton is an absolute joy! The best math professor I've ever had! So funny, so understanding, and so sweet. I understood math more than ever before. 4 proctored tests worth 20% of your grade each. A LOT OF HOMEWORK set aside a couple days a week to do all of the weekly material. Use the study sheets!!!
