Great teacher. Explains well. Tests are challenging but possible. I highly recommend her for whichever course she is currently teaching.

Mrs. Bennekin is a good teacher. Even if you are not a good math student, she can help.
This teacher is a must if you want a good grade for all of your hard work. Mrs. Bennekin is not too hard on grading. Does not try to confuse you and she is very patient and helpful. Quizzes are not bad, tests cover quiz material! But do your homework!

Seems indifferent at first, but really does want you to do well. Do extra credit! It made all the difference in my grade. Very nice lady who provides good instruction. Thought the book was awful though.

She is ok, but I had a hard time in her class. If you are good in math then you will be fine. If your not, take Hardy or someone else.
She is an on-line teacher. Therefore sometimes it is hard to get the help you need. The questions that I e-mailed where answered about two days later. She is a very nice person however. If a bit unhelpful.

this teacher is good and knows her stuff, however she does fly thru the lessons so if your not good with math she may lose you. Extra credit is wonderful though. Do not take her if you are not good at math.
*sigh* failed with flying colors. certainly wasnt her fault but cant say she helped much either. dont even think about taking her class unless you know your algebra already.
Professor Bennekin is a great teacher. I took her online Precalculus course and passed with an A. I did not ask her many questions because of the new system she is using called course compass. It breaks down the problems and helps you work through them, it even gives you practice tests. Online profe
Awesome teacher and wonderful lady. As long as you take the practice tests, which you recieve 5 bonus points on the tests for, you'll for sure get A's on the tests. Aced all the tests and the Final! She explains very clearly and simpily, I wish she taught more math classes!
She is an online teacher so for math it is going to be somewhat difficult. but i thought she was pretty easy. i mean she gives you extra credit that can be up to 5 pts added to your final grade. just do the HW online and the quizes should be easy. the HW prgrm explains it step by step. Easy A!!!!

I did her online class for the summer I think she is an o.k. teacher but not very forgiving. I had an A up to the final and my job did not accommodate me doing my exam and she gave me an F. I asked her to give me the finals another time but she did not. Other than that her online class was O.K She gives extra credits.
Great teacher! She wants you to do well in the class and is open to extra credit assignment for your final grade. Her notes are very organized and makes sure that no one has questions before she move on. Always is happy and has a great attitude.
She was the best math teacher I ever had. I had failed ever math class I had ever taken until I had her. She really wants to help you and she really wants you to pass the class! She's a great teacher.

always make sure you do the online quizses before doing the exam its the same thing, using the textbook as well really helps she explains problems very well read her notes before the exam too and you will do fine. awesome teacher the online qiuzes can be alot but they are really easy if you get the concept plus you can always view an example or go

She is the best. Trust me, you should take her as your precalculus class, you dont need your book at all but it not harm to have one. In her class, you better do the math lab, all the homework is in there... test are not hard at all, and quizzes are mostly online... just do all your homework ... and quizzes you will do just find on the test

VERY HELPFUL! EASY CLASS. ALL OF THE HWK IS DONE ON THE MATH COMPASS. SHE GIVES GREAT NOTES! THE ONLY THING IS THE TESTS ARE NOTHING LIKE THE NOTES ITS MORE LIKE THE MATH COMPASS. MAKE SURE U DO THE PRATICE TEST MOST OF THE TEST QUESTIONS COME FROM THAT.
Read a lot of positive ratings about this professor before taking her class,BUT she was NOT very helpful, nor very clear in explaining. She makes mistakes, jump all over you and when she realizes she is wrong,never apologizes! Took her class online. I would hate to be in a classroom with her. Didn't like her & she made it clear she didn't like me.
I took College Algebra with her in a hybrid course in '05. This was the third time I took Col Alg because I needed a C or higher. She was by far the best of all 3 teachers at GPC. I actually learned and understood the coursework. It wasn't easy by any means but managible! Thanks for your help!
she is great. she explains things very well and uses mymathlab for all homework. book is online so I didn't have to buy a book. class notes and quizzes are online too, super easy if you pay attention. she's also a nice person too so if you need help she is totally there for you.
Math 97 online. It is clear this professor has been at her job for while because the routine is apparent. I found her comments helpful when I was able to develop and pose questions in a clear fashion. When ever my questions or comments were unclear - watch out!!! Do not cross this one.
She is awesome! I am not good in math but she makes the class very easy. I take her hybrid class and I'm doin great! Homeork is all in MyMathLab. Tests aren't hard at all. She explains things over and over until u get it. I would take her again! TAKE HER CLASS!!
Took this class online- Pretty fair-very helpful and qick to respond to any questions or problem you may have. A few discussion post. Midterm and final at Dunwoody campus. Would take again
Very nice professor and responds quickly to emails. She is very fair and the test and quizzes are not hard if you spend time with the material. Only thing was that her videos were confusing at times. Best to use several sources to learn material.
I took this class online and she is very helpful. There are plenty of tools to use for assistance and she is very accesable. Answered questions quickly and is very involved with discussions etc. Great teacher, she made a difficult class easy to learn/understand.
Professor Bennekin is great! She is very helpful and tactful. Give all that is required of you, and she will give 120% in return. If you email her, expect her to respond asap. I really liked this class.
Knows subject well, helpful but grades hard. Cold in responses. Instructs not to type in all caps, ?appears as if you?re yelling? but often responds in ALL CAPS. Do not take class in summer, doesn?t tailor lesson to accommodate 1/2 semesters. Class moves fast, no time to master material. Do not correct her, never lets you live it down.
Took her class in the summer and it moved very quickly. Didn't use the $161 book at all and she seemed to have the attitude that she knew more than you. She never gave examples of anything. This was a tough online class to take from her. Glad that it is over.
I took this class online and she developed a teamwork spirit among the students. Discussion board set up to help and explain daily/weekly lessons. Gave one on one time on BB when you needed it. Great instructor.
Took this class online. It is very hard. She gives many assignments during the week, like it's the only class or life you have besides her class. She seems to have an attitude in her responses. The class is basically self-taught. She suggests ways to get help but that is it. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. Find another professor.
Where do I start with this teacher????She is the worse ever and I don't ever say teachers are bad because I just focus on getting the work done and pass. However if anyone is considering please please listen to me and reconsider before you waste yor money and energy. I wish I wouldv'e read this website before I took this class.
If you have no life take this class! I took it online and I had to drop a different class because the load was so much. Gives so much hw to do it's ridiculous! She can be helpful when she wants to be but, seems to have an attitude problem. Provides a lot of tools to teach everything to yourself though!
This professor was a true nightmare! I took an online class for many reasons, one of them was flexibility, this teacher will have drown in assignments and very much unhelpful with an attitude! DO NOT CHOOSE HER!
Continued from previous message... Took online - Hmwk is an easy 100% can try until you make an "A". Quizzes get two tries. Key is to write problems down as you go. It only shows you which problems you got wrong. When you take 2nd quiz - same concept/diff question. Easy to make A's. Discussions require 3 times a week. Easy A for that. Overall easy.
WHERE DO I BEGIN? This professor is HORRIBLE. She has an awful attitude, very cold, and is the HARSHEST grader known to man. Too much work! She makes learning miserable. She is exactly the teacher I aspire NOT to be. I know this comment is harsh and no harm is meant, I am just being honest and trying to help students out.
Overall, great professor. You need to work extra hard in this course to receive an A. the workload is a lot. she grades hard but if you put in the effort and thought, you will receive an A. Always keeps the students informed. Discussions every week. learned a lot in this course. Final is pretty easy, some questions are different from HW/CW.
Take this class during the summer or when you only have 1 other class, it IS a LOT of work. I spent between 2-7 hours on each HW assign, there's 3 per week. Teacher DEF has an attitude problem, it's obvious. Can be helpful if you keep pestering her. Final is easy, don't buy the text book, it's not helpful at all.
The course material was very easy for me luckily. This teacher wasn't helpful at all. Dont by the book youll never use it.
Dr.Bennekin is AWESOME! I was VERY hesitant to take her due to previous negative feedback read but my experience with her was opposite! She is helpful, dedicated, forgiving grade-wise, flexible, and she is a wonderful example of an excellent math teacher. I am totally glad I took this class and would recommend it to anyone who needs it.
She helped when I asked, had clear instructions. HOWEVER, too much homework and difficult time frames to get the work done. Class could be structured better.
AVOID AVOID AVOID! She does not help you learn. She doesn't explain her comments. She is rude. I wish I had looked at her ratings before I took her class as she seems to have a terrible reputation. WORST PROFESSOR EVER.
No book needed just the mml code.2 chances to do the quizzes. about 5 homework assignments you have 2 weeks to do them no more than 13-20 questions mml is alot of help. Must post 3 times a week in discussion boards. Very easy just dont procrastinate once the deadline is up you CANNOT redo them. My grade is a 90something (final next week) Easy A
The class was okay and I made a B, however if she was there to offer more help I would've made an A. I basically had to go out to the school for help all the time. Make sure you get to the homework on time because it can be pretty lengthy, complete all discussions and quizzes.
Proceed with caution. The teacher treats this class as if it is the only class students take; the grading is unmerciful, the workload is outrageous, and there is definitely a severe lack of compassion. I have taken my fair share of difficult classes, but this one is by far the worst. I'm currently considering changing my major.
This professor is by far the worst I have had at GPC. She assigns an unrealistic amount of homework, gives impossible deadlines, and shows no mercy in grading. She expects all students are math majors and offers NO help; her help includes remarks such as "This is an elementary school problem, it isn't that hard." Avoid at all costs.
This teacher is horrible; she offers no assistance and bombards students with mounds of homework. Be prepared to put your life on hold if you take this class, because assignments will take up all of your time. She leaves "smart" comments when approached for help and makes all assignments much harder than needed. She made learning miserable.
This professor I don't recommend at all!! She has an aggressive work load for a support class used to HELP students with their MATH 1111. When asked for assistance, she gives sarcastic and rude responses. She uses a one size fits all approach to teaching the subjects and asks students not to send emails with questions they have about the lessons.
Worst teacher I've ever had including teachers I had from elementary school through college. Awful teacher. Only "professor" for the course. She's anal about every little thing. Can't email her unless it concerns your grade only. TOUGH GRADER. It's an online class. Makes you post on discussion board on 3 different days a week to get credit.
Dr. Bennekin was great this semester. She was very nice and replied quick to emails. There is a lot homework, Quizzes, discussion, and assignments that you have to get done. If you miss any assignments, quizzes, etc you will get zero. She did helps students when needed and keep them inform when things are due. In my experience she was great.
I would not choose this professor if you can help it. She was slow to respond to emails and rude when she finally responded. Not helpful at all. The class is do-able, but be prepared to pretty much learn on your own.
This professor is tough. Not the worst but also not the best. Very tough grader. I took this class because there were no other options. Class is only offered online and it's this one teacher. The math is manageable. Discussion board is VERY important. Don't miss that. I would not take this professor again. It is possible to pass the class.

This professor is terrible. I am taking this course online and she is the HARDES grader on assignments. If someone posts a question in the discussion board (like she requires), she tears them apart and tells them to read the book before asking ?s. Its like she doesn't want to help & makes people feel inadequate if you don't understand. DO NOT TAKE!

This class was only offered online, and she is little to no help. She once graded a homework assignment of mine wrong and when I told her about it we were emailing back and forth and when she finally realized she was wrong she only gave me partial credit for a question I got correct. Theres soooo much homework its ridiculous. I would not recommend.
She is completely awful and makes you feel stupid. NEVER TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! she isn't worth the headache.
Worst online professor I have ever had and she's the only one available to teach this class. She is a tough grader, unhelpful, rude, & makes you feel stupid. The "notes" are useless, textbook is useless, and the homework is nearly impossible to do. Find someone else if possible bc she's not worth dealing with and screwing your GPA up for.
This is the worse Professor I have dealt with. She will make you feel stupid for asking a question. She does not teach you, she uses a program called Tophat that you teach yourself from, via YouTube videos in tophat. If I could give her a zero I would. I asked for extra credit to try and save my grade, her response was try harder next time.
She is a really really bad professor. She is lazy, rude, and crass. She does not help at all and makes you feel stupid for asking questions. She is very rude in emails and does not care about anyone doing well in the class. She doesn't tell you how to even improve your grade and basically is no help at all. If you can, DO NOT TAKE HER
Class is easy if you know math, if not than hard. There is no Communication with the teacher. She will reply, but if she feels what you're asking is "dumb" she will direct you to the homeowork, or to post it in the discussion. It's practically teach yourself. Great feedback, and did open up missing assignments and quizzes. 3/5 not awful just tough
She was one of the worst professors I had at Ga State. I am excellent at math, and she makes you feel stupid for even asking for help. She just gave assignments through Pearson and added a YouTube video on icollege. She never taught anything and was very rude when you asked for help. So, I had to teach myself. DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU CAN HELP IT!!!!
Class is very self-taught, which works for me. The professor wasn't the most welcoming but wasn't horrible. Discussion per week, homework on Pearson weekly, and a quiz with 3 attempts. All I have to say is use the resource she gives you. If you study what she has on Pearson and icollege, you will pass. Coming from a person that's bad at math.
I'm taking her for this fall semester. She leaves a lot of homework on TOPHAT and grades according to your participation in the homework and your tests for each unit. When I needed help, she held Webex meetings and helped me out. Not too bad but, I wish she helped out more instead of being MIA
Taught myself everything
Overall good professor. The only reason I gave her a 4 was because she can be very rude in her emails. If you are struggling, I highly suggest that you drop into her office hours, she helps a lot. 6 tests total plus the final (lockdown browser required). Homework via Top Hat is worth 25% of your grade (up to 80 q) so make sure to get every point.
Took her class; got an A. She hosts office hours if you need them. While there is quite a bit of TopHat Homework, she also gives about a week to complete them so as long as you commit to 10-12 problems/day (often less though, this is at most), you'll be fine. 6 tests, drops the lowest grade test and they're cumulative. If you study, you're good :)
She was great. A lot of homework, but the homework helped me do well on the tests, so if you keep up with homework you will do well.
Professor Bennekin was ok. Better for self-motivated learners. All teaching is done via YouTube videos from TopHat and material inside TH. All questions must be asked in the discussion boards, which is tedious when trying to finish homework. I probably wouldn't take her again.
This class was okay. The work was pretty straight forward, but the professor is a little snarky at times. Sometimes compassion and humility can go a long way. She has 3 main assignments, myLab work, and a final exam. She also has weekly discussions. I wouldn't take this class again if I could help it.
Class was not very hard. The professor gave weekly assignments through TopHat which was maybe 1 or 2 chapters a week & after a couple of chapters you would be given a test. Some discussion posts were also required. Overall, she didn't really teach so you just have to be self-motivated to learn from the videos linked in TopHat or through Youtube.
Terrible professor. if you can, email state and ASK for a different professor. 7+ homework assignments with 50 questions due EACH every week. Does not teach, no resources. I am miserable in this class. If you're not a math wiz...man Goodluck to you!!! This professor should be examined and talked to IMMEDIATELY. Impossible to pass!!!
Took Dr. Bennekin's MATH 1111 course online in Fall 2021. Pretty much all assignments are in Top Hat. The course is pretty easy by design - it's essentially high school algebra, so just use outside resources like Khan Academy is you don't understand the Top Hat videos. It's easy to get an A - just do the work and study.
worst professor ever! so rude in emails and discussion posts. i definitely would not take her again. there is way too much homework, and the lecture slides barely make sense. taught myself everything and understood nothing.
She was ok. She did not teach any of the material so you had to learn it on your own or have classmates explain it to you. Only 2 written assignments were easy. The homework was long and tiring though. There were 50 problems for each assignment most of the time. Quizzes were simple and could cheat. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on this class
All those degrees and you're still a poor educator, Dr. Bennekin. She lacks human decency. This class is a required course for the education pathway and she's the only person that offers it.Two weeks of work will consist of 250 homework questions (some have five parts), two quizzes, a written assignment, and two different weekly discussions. Shame
The best advice I can give anybody is if you're able to do all the extra credit do it. Stay on top of your weekly assignments (she gives A LOT OF HOMEWORK).She's a tough grader and not at all helpful. This isn't an easy class, but it's not a difficult one either, this is a class you HAVE to take breaks in between each assignment to not burn out
