I found her class fun and interesting. If you plan to major in psychology, i suggest to take her. She is the department head. I don't think she plays favorites at all.

She is a good teacher, and explains things well. I never got a sense that she favored whites. (I am not white either). She had light homework and made the class fun with interactive demonstrations.

This is the most amazing professor I had. Her methods of teaching are crisp and to the point. I wish all teachers made learning this easy.

Research Methods was not an easy class, it requires a lot of work, projects, and tons of paper writting. I would not recommend that you take Dr. Duff, unless you are willing to spend a lot of time on this class, I do mean a lot of time!

Duff's classes are never boring, she always has new activities and lets you create your own test questions. She really tries to help u out. It is soo obvious she really enjoys her subject, and enjoys teaching others on it. The best psych teacher out of 3 I have taken in the past.

I transfered to UCI and thanks to Dr. Duff she had made the transition that much easier. Not an easy "A" course at cerritos but she will prepare you. She will keep you busy throughout the semester. Other community colleges offer this class but the course at cerritos are one of the few psych classes that are transferable to the UC system.

Her text can be hard, unless you study. Besides that her class if fun. She tries do make us more active,**** I rather get candy all day than sit and stare at a boring teacher.

The cerritos population is predominantly hispanic so if race was the issue, she wouldn*t be teaching here. These types of ratings make me not trust this site. I had an A in this class, but overall it was one of the hardest earned A's i've had in recent memory. I found myself studying and/or reading for 3-4 hours a day minimum. It seems no matter what you do you'll never get 100% on an assingment. At the same time it's almost impossible to get anything below a C if you are a serious student.

Great instructor, always there for help whenever needed especially in tutorial [which is a must]. Dont take this course if you think it's easy because it isnt, you do lots of time consuming work, projects and disscussions.. i highly advise taking this course before transfering. This class is no walk in the park...

Dr Duff is about the best instructor I have ever come across. I can't even begin to describe the class of professor she is. I can see why some young kids would think she is too tough and possibly even mean or cold, but if you do your work and are serious about psychology, she gives you nothing but her best.

I took the online class. It's based on a lot of reading, so be prepared to read most of the textbook, seriously! 4 quizzes, 3 exams, 2 discussions, 1 research, & 1 extra credit option. She grades fair, responds to emails promptly, not strict & a helpful instructor. Exams are 100 points out of a 400 point grading scale. A good experience overall. :]

Her exams are different because the questions are based on the scenarios. She does demonstrations with the class, so it's easier to remember and it's important to attend because she'll ask questions about the demonstration on her exams. She makes the class fun and interesting. The class is pretty easy overall, but you need to attend.

Dr. Duff is the best college professor i have ever had, she is extremely helpful and Always available to talk or help a student. she actually encourages her students to email and visit her in office hours. You do need to keep up and study for her tests, they are not easy. One action learning project instead of a final which is so much fun! TAKEHER.

Dr. Duff is one of the best psychology professors here at Cerritos College. She is very passionate about her job and she is always available to help her students. Her class is fairly easy as long as you show up to the lecture and listen. The workload is decent, but if you procrastinate, you will be suffering the consequences later on!

I took an online class with her. She is very tech savvy and loves Podcasts which I thought was cool. She is very knowledgeable and responds to your questions, posts and papers so you know she actually reads your work. Took time to get grades back sometimes, but not horrible. Her tests are hard and the study guides didn't really help me.

Very easy online summer course. Professor replies to all questions & helps with everything you may need. She's extremely clear with what she expects from her students.

If you read your textbook and understand the concepts you'll do fine. I took her class online. Not hard. She drops lowest exam. You don't even have to take the final, if you are satisfied with your grade after the third exam. The exams are "open book" but don't rely on that. The tests are timed and you'll just be going back and forth, so read.

I took the class online which was not overwhelming even though it was a nine week. I thought the class was interesting but if you want to learn about psychology for real, I would not take it online. I took this class over the summer and it was fairly easy. You need to read chapter and in between sections there are quizzes. As long as you read, you can easily pass the quizzes. You do basically teach yourself but again, the material is very easy. Would recommend to anybody thinking about taking this class online! Easy A + offers extra credit.

you do have to read the book to pass the exams, as the class im currently taking is an online class. The exams are from revel online pearson texbook, so you have to buy the code, $150. If you read the book at home and do the in between test, youll be fine, 3 essay answer 450 words discussion post, 3 replies to a student that answered the post

each chapter has about 3 quizes, and one major test, there are discussion forums depending what type of class you signed up for, other than that if your lazy and dont do reading expect to fail. If you learn at your own pace, than this is the class for you.

every chapter that she covers has section review quizes, which u must take about 4 quizes and end chapter exam on the revel pearson purchase link through canvas. It will be hard if your a skimmer, but if you do the reading the answers pop in your head like a memory you had yesterday... there are discussions and those are part of your grade 20pts

Dr. Duff really cares about her students and shows great passion for psychology. She is extremely nice and presents herself as very approachable which is great. Her lectures are very engaging and she tries her best to help understand concepts. Exams are average, but just study study study. If you participate and do the work you will pass with an A.

This class is honestly a fun and interesting . Only 2 exams and 1 group project. All lectures are engaging and her examples are easy to understand if you are someone who loves examples applied to outside scenarios. You have 2 easy fun assignments to complete on your own, other than that, I recommend this class! You do not have to buy a book.

Dr. D is an amazing professor. As long as you do the reading assignments you should pass. Everything is open - book. The discussions are very easy to understand and relatable. Dr. D is very inspirational. I would totally recommend her for PSYC 101. She is test heavy though. There are 5 quizzes and a chapter test each chapter. So, work ahead.

Professor Duff is such a caring person and is always accessible during office hours. Read and annotate the textbook, and you will pass the class, so do not slack off until the last minute. I took this course during Spring of 2020 while covid-19 first began. The professor has some jokes, she teaches from slides but also gives real life examples, great feedback on assignments, there is a final exam which is more of a project/paper which was 3-5 pages long. I would take her class again.

Professor Duff is a very caring women she genuinely sets her students up for success. She grades off assignments (not a heavy amount) and quizzes. Her lectures are interesting and the notes that are provided are essential. With this being said study, go through the notes & attend her zooms & you will have no problem pass the course.

She gives notes which are essential for the quizzes. We have a chapter quiz each week, discussion, and a "practice quiz" from achieve. For practice quizzes you have 5 chances to get 100%, if you get lower than 100 on each week, it adds up so don't get lazy to repeat them. As for the chapter quizzes, those are timed and cannot be repeated.

Easy class, easy teacher. She will not give you full credit on work but there is extra credit and no final exam.

Took her 9-week course and she was great. Very straightforward all her quizzes and exams come from lectures and the book. Make sure to do the Discussion Board and take advantage of the Extra Credit offered if you really need it. She cares greatly for her student and is always checking in and is always available and super accommodating.

What an amazing Professor, I took her nine week course this spring semester and let me tell you I am sad that it was only nine weeks. Very well organized from lectures deadlines, grading and communication. You need to READ ALL MATERIALS, WATCH ALL THE VIDEOS and do ALL the PRACTICE QUIZZES in order to be successful in this class.
