professor de is the reason i became a psych major too, shes THAT amazing. the class is so interesting and its never dull, you'll actually want to go. the quizzes are very easy, the tests are too, and theres never homework. shes probably one of the best professors at jmu - i couldnt recommend her class more!

Great Professor, she cares about her students and really makes it possible to get an A. 4 exams, quizzes online which she drops the lowest 2 and particpant pool or read articles and take quizzes. I wish she taught more psychology classes because I would def. take them!! Take her for this class!!!!

Professor DE is absolutely one of the nicest and most fun professors I have ever had. She makes class a joy to come to, and the class itself is very easy, though you should not take the tests lightly - reading the book helps a lot on the tests, not just studying the notes.

Great class. The on-line quizzes really help you prepare for the exams – take them. Also, come to class (even though attendance is not required) – it really helps you do well on exams. . . and it is interesting and inspiring. Prof DE is really easy, and really likeable. The only complaint I have about this class is that the first 30 minutes is spent on her babbling about things not related to psychology at all. It gets a little annoying. I got 100 on all 8 quizzes and a 90 and 91 on the the tests without studying at all. Really easy and fun class.

I have attended everyone of her classes and she uses the first few minutes giving announcements about assignments, etc. This is the time where she "shows us how much she cares so that care how much she knows." Great prof. I cannot say enough great stuff about her. She makes a class of 125 feel like 25! Take her!

If you can get into this class, take it! Her lectures are rally engaging and I would have gone to class even if it were everyday. The grade consists of four non-cumulative tests, one project, participation in three psychology department studies, and ten online quizzes.

I took PSYC160 with her over the summer, and let me start off by saying that I might be the worst student that I know, but even I got a high A in this class. She's really engaging, so if you literally just show up, it's really easy to absorb the information. Would highly recommend taking her class.

Professor D is super funny and it's a pretty chill environment. She provides skeleton versions of her powerpoints to take notes and provides study guides for all the tests. With that said, you cannot pass the tests without both reading the textbook and showing up to class, though attendance is not mandatory.

She is a very kind lady, and you can tell her love of the topic. If you read the textbook, you don't need to take many notes in class. Genuinely interesting, Dr. D teaches you things you will remember and that are useful for your whole life. I wish I could take more psychology classes with her! No attendance policy, but you want to go, even at 9am.

Prof. Duvall oversaw this class, however I wouldnt say she taught anything. The class was 100% on mindtap. There are no lectures, you strictly read the textbook and do assignments. The information is interesting, though. I do not recommend taking this for a maymester class if you also plan to work, because it is a lot.

I loved everything about this class including Prof D! I have never learned so much from one course and feel so knowledgable about the psychology major and all the resources JMU has to offer now! Prof D has information on every part of the psychology major and is so willing to help you! There is no better class to take than this one w/ Prof D!

Prof D is my advisor as well as my 105 professor and I cannot say enough good things about her. She cares so much about her students. If you take 105, there's a weekly quiz, but all of the questions and answers are straight out of the lecture and you're allowed to use the materials she provides on the quiz. Amazing professor.

Seriously the best professor I have ever had, she genuinely cares about her students and their well-being and will check in to make sure you're doing okay. She knows what she is talking about and makes this as stress-free as possible. Take her if you are able to!

Literally my favorite teacher ever!!! Yes, she doesn't give exams because of COVID, but even if she did give them, I would still love her! She is so amazing and seriously cares for all of her students. The class wasn't always the easiest, but she made it worthwhile. I actually wanted to come to class. Love her so much!

Professor D was great, you can tell she really cares about her students. The class was graded based on mostly a weekly quiz based off what we learn in class that week, and also a draft plan and a final plan to graduate. The class is very helpful and she makes it so it doesn't add any stress to your schedule. Easy A if you do all the assignments

Best professor I've ever encountered. She genuinely cares about each and every single one of her students and is so compassionate and kind to all. She positively impacted my mental health and I felt so safe with her even though class was completly online. Take her if you can. She is truly amazing.

If you are a Psychology major then you need to take DuVall's 105 class. It opens you up to so many resources and prepares you for the major. No questions asked. TAKE THIS CLASS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!

If you're a psych major this class will help so much. Even if you think you know what you're doing, you will learn SOMETHING new. She gives you so many new resources to use and shows you opportunities you probably weren't aware of. Such a great professor

Professor D is simply amazing! She truly cares about the success of each student & it shows. I took this class over one week & it was very well organized with clear expectations. PSYC 105 will provide you with the tools you need to succeed in the psych major & help you carefully plan your future at JMU. Take this easy 1 credit psych elective!

Very laid back and helpful. I had her as an advisor while I was transferring and for my Intro to the Major class. She's very involved and interested in students' goals, as well as providing information for them to achieve them. Also she saved lab rats which is an automatic five stars.

This class was completely online for the summer, so I did not get a chance to interact with Prof DuVall at all, except through email. All of the information and assignments were completely on MindTap, so as long as you do the work it should be a very easy A.

Nicest person ever and cares about her students well being. As long as you do the work you'll get an A. Cannot recommend her enough!!

I love Professor Duvall, but she talks fast during lecture (recorded) and all of her assignments have "hard" and "soft" deadlines, the textbook work is kind of annoying though, I took several hours reading the book for her book quizzes (MindTap/Cengage). The lecture quiz is easy, stuff due about once a month with a small project. But she cares.

Professor Duvall is hands down the sweetest professor ever. She really cares about students and their mental health. There's no final or midterm just a lot of quizzes. The lecture quizzes are easy but the textbook quizzes on the website can be difficult because a lot of the answers can only be found in the textbook. Overall, take her she's the best

Prof D is awesome. I took this online and there was never any tests only quizzes for the online textbook and lectures. She is super thoughtful and easy going. There is no final just a final project that isn't hard at all. I recommend her for psych 160 because from what I've heard from other people they get a lot more work than I do.

Take this class with Prof D for an easy A. Everything is super straighforward so you are actually able to learn and not just be stressed about graded. If you apply yourself and turn things in on time, you should have no problem in this class. she reads these so Prof D YOU ROCK!!!

Literally best class ever. You have to read the textbook to do good on the quizzes, but other than that its so easy. You can tell she cares about her students and she doesn't make you turn your camera on for class. Easy A

Prof D is amazing! Such a lovely woman. Her class was my comfy class. She really cares about her students. Work is mostly through the textbook & not difficult. She has some lecture quizzes but those & the textbook quizzes have multiple attempts. There was a final project instead of an exam which i did in 1 day. She is the sweetest ever, take her!!

Very easy class, 3 mindtap quizzes and 3 lecture roughly every 3 weeks (about 4 total groups of quizzes). You can take the quizzes twice. The only grading she does is the project which acts as the final so put some effort in but it's easy.

Professor Duvall is literally the sweetest teacher I have ever had. She cares so much about her students and prioritizes the mental health of her class. There's no midterm and a final project instead of a test. There are about nine quizzes due once a month and you can take them twice.

a majority of ur grade is based on the textbook which sucks because most questions are not on Quizlet so you actually have to read. the quizzes that are based on her lectures were easy though. She's very sweet and answers emails quickly. the class has timed lectures but i did it asynchronously because she posted lectures.

She is a very caring and sweet professor and genuinely wants her students to succeed. She gave many extra credit opportunities throughout the year and was helpful when people asked her questions in class. I would recommend

Take her! The best and most caring professor I've ever had. Gives so much extra credit and the lectures are posted beforehand but are really intresting and fun. Theres a final project that is also fun and not stressful at all. She cares about students mental health and will check up on you during the semester. Cannot recommend her enough.

She is AMAZING!!!!! Took PSYC160 Online and it was easy. Consists of lecture quizzes, quizzes in MindTap, Exams in MindTap, and a final project. Not a lot of work or overbearing. There are opportunities for extra credit too! She is so caring, helpful, and sweet. If you need anything she will help. HIGHLY recommend!!!

I loved this class. It was interesting to learn about and she was funny. The class itself was easy, I got an A on every exam. She gives extra credit, and the project is actually really fun. Answers emails quickly and cares about students' well-being. Definitely take her and take this class!

Fully asynchronous, so no basis to judge many of the above. The class is nice and easy but you do need to read the material to get an A, you could easily get over a B- with chat. I've had her before for non-asynchronous PSYC160, and she was awesome. So she is an amazing choice in general.

Super nice and accommodating. Class was pretty easy. Just online exams, quizzes, and one project that took like an hour. Some extra credit opportunities too. She was always super nice in emails since it was all asynchronous. No lockdown browser.

Genuinely one of my favorite classes ever at JMU. Professor Duvall is the sweetest ever. Her videoed lectures are incredibly entertaining and she is readily available via email. There is a lot of reading in mindtap but very enjoyable. Take her if you can!

This was asynchronous; I finished the whole course within a month because you can work ahead. All the assignments are through the textbook website, plus some discussion board. I am very glad I took this class.

Take this class! She is great and is such a kind professor!! Completely asynchronous so you can get ahead if you want, 4 exams, a couple of quizzes and assignments due every other week!
