Very nice personality. Tests can be difficult because she will cover a lot of material and ask very specific questions about it. Be sure and do all the assigned readings and print out her lecture slides and you should be fine. The extra credit really will help...so take advantage of it.
Dr. Grantham is a very sweet teacher. She was very helpful.. the one time I had a question about a test question she went out of her way after class to research it for me, and she didn't even know me personally (this was a huge class). Also, she made the material interesting. Take advantage of extra credit!
Very uptight
The class is not extremely hard. But you do have to read the book and the notes. There is a lot of reading. There are questions from the book that are not in the notes and vice versa. But she tells you that at the beginning. I took the class during may-mester and made an A. The quizzes are for extra credit and really make a difference!
Easy class but a decent amount of work involved. Attend class because the extra credit can really make the difference. Tests are pretty easy but read the book because she takes a lot of questions from the vocabulary in there. Pay attention she tells you what you really need to know...
Be careful. The department told her she was too easy so this semester she made the class so hard. The tests were extremley difficult. She's still a nice person though.

She does test on pretty obscure stuff. Studying for a test basically consists of you memorizing a bunch of lists (e.g. - Marketing Mix, Advertising process etc.)..pretty boring stuff. Though, old tests will help a decent amount. About 7 old questions give or take a few will be on each test. Final was ALL new questions.

She is a good professor, but if she could write Ph.D. on her forehead I think she would do it. Her Ph.D. is her world. Overall, good instructor.
Easy class, but ohhhh so boring
Not near as easy as everyone says she is. Her tests are very conceptual and she gives pop quizes atleast once a week so you have to go to her boring class. You get to drop one test. I wouldn't take her class again.
She sounds like Eddy Murphy from Shrek. This lady would not bump my grade up .12 points to an A. She is so annoying, yet she makes you come to class to listen to her read a powerpoint. Take Someone Else...
Tricky quizzes everyday. So Boring. Really difficult essay questions. Pointless class.
You have to keep up w/ the reading for each class and know it pretty well for her subjective questions on pop quizzes that she has often. Also had silly busy work assignments several times. Her powerpoint presentations are boring too. Beware of her deviating from the reading schedule and not telling you. If you study a decent amount you'll be fine
This class is a ton of work,especially considering it is not a mandatory class for MARK majors. There is stuff due almost everyday in class. You must participate everyday in class. There are a ton of case studies. She doesn't really go over much material in class, it's mostly class discussion. She's very nice, but this class takes up all of my time
SO BORING. I hated coming to class everyday. This class has very easy material but she makes the tests hard. So many pop quizes, so keep up with readings.
One of the best teachers I ever had. Great at explaining. the only thing i didnt like was that all the work except the test was group work which means your grades depends on how good a group you get. I got a B+ and probably could have gotten an A if I had a better group but she was very helpful and extremely nice
She is a bad teacher, kind of annoying voice when she lectures.Has weekly out of class assignments that are extra credit. TESTS are very unfair! She tests on the most discrete information, and the essays are not fair because there are dif ones within a class. Dont take her if you can avoid it, I have a A- and regret taking her. only 5 students get
I felt that Dr. Grantham was a good professor. Her tests are a bit hard, but you can attend class for extra credit. Her explanations are crystal clear, but there is not much incentive to attend class besides the occasional extra credit point.
Dr. Grantham is a good teacher. She was pregnant while I had her, yet she was super-energetic and tried to interest everyone. I am not interested in Marketing, but I did not mind taking her class. The online quizzes are golden for test prep, as several of the questions are the same.
Dr. Grantham is a really good teacher! She's very concerned with her students success and is very helpful with any concerns. She also makes the content of the class considerably more interesting with examples that actually relate to the real world. The tests came directly from the notes and textbook, no surprises. Take her!
She talks extremely fast. Probably drinks 5 cups of leaded coffee before class. But, she does know her stuff really well. Very smart and willing to help if you ask for it.
This class was easy to get a B in but requires some effort to get an A. Test have enough tricky questions to make getting A's hard. Attendance isn't mandatory but she gives out random extra credit. Very nice professor and tries to make class interesting.
She is very energetic and tries to explain a lot. However, although the course material itself is easy, she does not want students to succeed. She purposefully makes tests tricky (so very few get A's) and if you don't think with her logic, you'll get it wrong. If there is another, take that instead.
Her exams are very tricky, despite the simple material. The perfect place for your grade to suffer for no good reason. I highly recommend Not taking her.
Little tricky on the exam
Ridiculously easy material combined with a professor that doesn't believe in giving out good grades equates to incredibly hard tests. The test questions themselves are overly complicated and then she goes out of her way to try to trick you even more within the already overly complicated question. I recommend taking another professor that isn't bad.

This class was very easy. No quiz or test, but mainly participation. If you take her for multi-cultural marketing it will be the easiest class you take, however for MARK 3000, it's best to take the class else-where, because Grantham isn't easy and neither is emmelhainz.
This class was quite simple if you go to class, pay attention, and take notes. You do need to read the book, but I didn't study it much. Most questions come straight from notes but there are some application questions. Multiple choice and T/F.Bonus points for going to class. Interesting teacher, and I would take her again if I had the chance.
She's the definition of a professor who makes tests harder than they need to be. The course material that she goes over in class doesn't align very well with her test questions, and I'm left with the impression that she doesn't add much value to the class. Yes, she's nice, but overall she makes the class a frustrating mess.
Theh material is not hard, but she makes up for it by giving tricky tests that are impossible to get an A on, no matter how hard or long you study. You'll be surprised after the easy material when you make a c on her tests. I can't stand the fact that she likes to trip you up repeatedly on tests.
Grantham makes her tests a lot harder than they need to be. I studied more for this class than any other class I had before and was struggling to pass tests. I went to her for help and she just told me to study harder. Not helpful at all. Also, she puts so many long questions on the test that it's hard to finish in time. I do NOT recommend her.
This class was ridiculous. Grantham made straightforward material unreasonably hard/tricky on her tests. I was excited for this class at first because she is enthusiastic in class and seems reasonable, but the tests were so tricky, and this is coming from an honors student who put in the time necessary to come out with an A. Ended up with a B...
Dr. Grantham used a lot of video examples that made the time fly by during lectures. There were some things on tests that weren't in the lecture, so you need to textbook. To me, tests seemed way too tricky given the material. It was a very straight-forward subject with abnormally hard tests. She was lenient on project grades, though. (MARK3000H)
This lady was a horrible teacher. I feel she had something to prove so she made her tests have vague questions with best-answer answers. Friends in other marketing classes were free sailing. It was impossible to get an A no matter how hard you tried. Only cool thing was the guest speakers, questions for them were impossible. DON'T TAKE HER.
Terrible class.... She is not that bad as a person but her Tests are impossible! The questions are extremely tricky and there are 50 with with only 50 minutes to take it. No exceptions... I studied so much for this class and got horrible test grades. Tests make up 98% of the grade. So got screwed...
Tests are very very difficult. You have to go to class to get extra credit, and it is very boring. Concepts are fairly easy, but tests are nearly impossible. The tests consist of 98% of your grade so it is very hard to get a good grade in this class. I would recommend a different professor.
A very nice person but she is honestly the proverbial bean counter. She attempts to make a simple topic ridiculously difficult to justify her employment, when in reality, this level of difficulty is completely unnecessary.. I feel horrible saying it because I genuinely like her but she is a horrible educator. Do Not Take This Class With Her!
As said by many students before me, Grantham takes an easy to understand topic and turn it into Accounting level hard on her exams. What makes it so tough is that she will ask a question and then have two answers that are very similar and truthfully could be either/both but you have to figure out which one she THINKS is better.
She does offer a few points of extra credit in 50% of the lectures. In this case, all of the extra credit added up if you went every day would be maybe 4-5 points on the exam. In all, as everyone else has said, she makes an intro class into an unnecessary stress by making students pick the "least wrong" answer on exams. Take the other teacher
Don't do it. And if you don't have a choice while registering and have to take her, get ready for a few months of frustration. You've probably read it all. She's a nice enough lady, passionate, etc. etc. But the Tests. Over-the-top challenging. You can go to class every day, take notes, and read, yet still maybe scrape by with a B.
This is marketing, a pretty simple subject. Grantham makes marketing 10x harder than it should be. It doesn't matter if you read the textbook or not, the tests are still too complex for a marketing class. It always seems as if there are multiple right answers. Her extra credit is pointless. Take McManus.
Do not take this class with Grantham! She is extremely nice and her lectures are interesting, but the tests are impossible. Only 3 tests and a final.
The reviews on Grantham are ridiculous - she really isn't bad at all. People just don't expect to have to study at ALL for marketing I guess. But if you outline the chapters, and the notes that go with them, taking note of the little differences between similar terms, you will be 100% FINE. Almost no specifics ever asked from lectures. Very fair.
This class is just annoying because the material is straightforward and tests are unnecessarily difficult. You can get away with never going to class (attendance counts as extra credit) if you study the book. If you can take with another professor, you should. But don't be scared, you'll be fine, just might end up with a B instead of that A.
Grantham is a pretty good lecturer. She gives out extra credit points for going to class. Her tests are a little bit tricky and are harder than McManus' but overall she is decent. Only have one HW assignment due throughout the semester.
She definitely makes a terry first core class way harder than it needs to be. Her test questions tricky and the only extra credit opportunities are randomly done in class so if you miss it, too bad. Avoid her at all cost.
She gives out bunch of examples and videos in class to illustrate the concepts. It is fun but they are not really helpful on the tests. Tests are tricky and broad. Memorizing all ppt slides and reading all the chapter can get you a 85ish but barely a 90. I would avoid her because she makes the class harder than it should be.

Marketing is absolutely worthless and difficult. Grantham is a talent-less lecturer, who is constantly confusing. Her slides are useless for studying with undefined terms. The class is filled with jargon and hundreds of vocabulary words that you are expected to learn. The exams are extremely tricky and cover around 4-5 chapters of material.
She is the sweetest lady and her lectures are very interesting and engaging. However, her tests are ridiculously hard for no reason. Its possible to do well if you study for hours on end though. Extra credit for class attendance. But, take a different professor if you are expecting an easy A.

Grantham is by far one of the best teachers I have ever taken here at UGA and I am a senior. Her lectures while long are interesting and she tries to provide many examples to help you understand and to make it more fun. As long as you read the text before the test attendance isn't necessary. Put in the effort (not even much) and you will do fine.
Dr. Grantham was an interesting lecturer with great examples. However, if you don't review her slides AND the textbook, you won't do well on the tests which seem too difficult for the material. She is very knowledgable and helpful in her office hours, but don't expect an A. Go to class to get extra credit on the tests.
Grantham loves marketing with a passion. She helps lectures by adding lots of examples, however they are lengthy and sometimes hard to pay attention to. The tests are very specific and you have to read the textbook in order to pass. She does offer extra credit multiple days for people who attend class, however it is not mandatory.

I personally loved Professor Grantham. She was enthusiastic about marketing and even though her classes were lecture heavy, she had a great attitude and made the material interesting. Reading the textbook is essential, but it's an easy and interesting read. However, there's a lot of information so tests were not an easy A.
Dr. Grantham is a great professor. Her tests are tough, but study the book and you should be fine. There is an individual presentation and a group presentation, but she grades very leniently on these as long as you put in the work. Attendance is mandatory but she's super nice and loves class participation. There is no extra credit.
She makes a class that should be relatively easy.. so hard! Her tests are impossible, even when you study like crazy. I wouldn't recommend especially when the other marketing professors at UGA have MUCH easier tests.
Lectures are not too boring but tests are horribly confusing. I would not recommend taking her. Class is too difficult for a marketing intro class. If you are stuck with here like I was, I recommend taking good notes during class and study that+the book.
Quite possibly the worst professor Ive ever had. She cancelled class once and said that we could go to an OPTIONAL presentation outside of class for EXTRA CREDIT if we wanted to, then proceeeded to put multiple questions about that extra credit speaker on a test, ruining my grade. I wouldnt take her again if UGA offered to pay off my loans.
Dr. Grantham is really not bad. If you go to class, pay attention, and read the book & your notes to study you will be just fine on the tests. Exams can be kind of vague but the class material itself can be fairly vague so no mark against her there. She also offers up to 5 extra credit points per test for completing easy in class assignments.
Professor Grantham is by far the worst teacher I've ever had. I never even failed a test until I took her class. The lectures are pretty much just straight forward from the PowerPoints, and she puts vocab from the readings on the test. ALL of her tests are comprised of awkward scenarios as well. This class isn't too bad if you read the textbook, go to class, and memorize the key terms. If you go to class, she sometimes gives extra credit for easy group assignments that you do in class. The points go toward your next test. People complain a lot about her, but she isn't as hard as everyone says she is.
It was a decent class. The only issue I had was the weight of the tests. You could do amazing with the papers and homework but you would also need to ace the tests in order to keep those grades high. So it felt like all your hard work was for nothing.
She's a very caring and interesting teacher in her lectures but when it comes to tests, it's awful. The tests are soooo hard and involve multiple options that could be true but one of them is the "best". 10000% take the other teacher if you can because apparently everyone loves her and her class is much more doable.
Dr. Grantham is an EXCELLENT teacher, the reviews for her course are surprising. If you listen to the lectures and read the textbook as she instructs you will do perfectly fine on the tests . I attended nearly every class and made a 100 on one of her tests. Most people skip her class since attendance isn't mandatory -- a recipe for failure.
Dr. Grantham is a very nice lady, but that's it. DON'T take this professor if there are other options. She says that tests come from lectures, powerpoint and the book but honestly, there is no solid way to study for this class as I've gone to her office hours and studied the class google doc. It's so confusing so save yourself the hassle from HER.
Great professor but the tests were pretty difficult, I was always stuck between 2 answers. Most of the questions are from her lectures and the videos she shows in class but she pulls random questions from the textbook so make sure to go to class and get the textbook. I enjoyed her as a teacher but her exams weren't the best
Grantham is an amazing marketing professor. She is knowledgeable about the subject and cares a lot about her students and their success. The tests are hard but if you study the book and know the information you will be fine. Take her class! It is really interesting and she gives extra credit to people who attend class.
she's a great speaker and very interested in the class, but her tests are extremely difficult. I would recommend taking the other professor (mcmanus) if you want to do well. As someone who isn't good with difficult conceptual topics, there was no way i could succeed, even after going in to get help. Theres extra credit if you attend class.
The ONLY grades in this class come from the tests, so if you don't do well on them there are pretty much no other opportunities to be successful in the class. The tests were EXTREMELY difficult. You HAVE to read the textbook because the majority of the important info on the tests is not even touched on in class. Take the other teacher if possible
Super passionate about teaching marketing, and I loved her for it! I personally thought she made the class more interesting. Recommended to attend all lectures because she points out a lot of information that will be exam material, and she does a lot of extra credit after her lectures for points on your exams.

Grantham is a fantastic professor. She does a great job of explaining the harder concepts in class, and her tests are not that hard, you just need to read the book for some of the concepts that she leaves out of her notes. She also regularly offers extra credit in class that can get you an extra 5-6 points on each test.

Professor Grantham is the best lecturer I have had to date. Her class is engaging and her public speaking skills are phenomenal. Her tests can be hard, but if you study what she gives you, and A is definitely attainable. (I do not know why her rating is not above a 4)
Make sure to come to class if you want to get the extra credit; she will also show videos and have guest speakers which will show up on exams as test questions. Her tests are based on her slides and textbook vocab. Course includes 3 exams and a final; material is manageable, an A is achievable!
Really don't know why her rating is so low. Her class is engaging and interesting, and she gives extra credit just for coming to class and participating. Studying outside the class is required, but if you come to class and take notes it really is an easy A/B. She shows really good real world examples too.
You are graded by 4 exams. Each exam has the opportunity of getting 5/6 extra credit points that are given for attending class. Not a hard class to make a B, but you may need to work for the A. Some questions for the tests come from the book, but it is mainly lectures. Dr. Grantham isn't rude, and she teaches with enthusiasm.

Grantham is brilliant and her lectures were always intriguing. Though if you don't do well on a test, your grade will suffer because it is test heavy!!! MUST READ THE BOOK. Her lectures are very fast paced and if you don't keep up you will not do well. She is very kind and a fantastic professor. SO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT IF YOU GO TO CLASS!!!
Great online class. The structure of the class allows you to learn without being stressed out by confusing word problems and difficult test. The summer online section is great. You have the ability to do assignments weeks in advance and tests are fair
Professor Grantham is a great professor who is truly passionate about Marketing. If you read the book, take notes from the lecture, and show up to class to get the extra credit, there's no reason why you can't make an A. Tests are easy and straight forward if you prepare for them as she advises you to. I would definitely take her again!
THE best class I have EVER taken. We learn about relevant topics, marketing bloopers, things that went well, even a shy introvert like me was able to open up and discuss. Everything was interesting, we often wished we could stay past class time bc of how great our conversations were. Take her class!!!!! No tests, just presentations.
Professor Grantham has been my favorite professor at UGA. Her lectures are always entertaining and she uses lots of examples. She offers extra credit opportunities in class for points on the exams (around 5-6 points) so GO TO CLASS (I promise its not boring). Her reviews on here are lower than McManus, but I definitely recommend taking Grantham
I loved Grantham. Easy A if you study the night before the test. Honestly a great class, and it made me want to change my major to Marketing. She offers 5 bonus points for attendance on every test. 10/10 would recommend.

Dr. Grantham is awesome. Her way of teaching is very easy to understand as long as you pay attention, which really isn't hard in her class. She clearly loves her job and gives students a bunch of extra credit opportunities in order to get higher grades on tests (up to 5 points!). If you have the chance to take her, take her!
The class is very plain and simple. Teacher is pretty interesting. Understand the basic terminology and you'll do fine. Do NOT take this class alongside a ADPR 3100 because some of the terminology is the same but their definitions contradict each other and you have many tests on the same week/day.
I don't know how she has a 3.5, honestly. Dr. Grantham is great! Her lectures are very organized and easy to follow, though she does move pretty fast sometimes. She doesn't take attendance for a grade but will give extra credit for showing up. Tests are easy pretty easy. Do some quizlets for terms and you'll do great!

There are only 4 exams that make up your entire grade. If you mess up your first exam then you might not pass with a A. Only reason I got a solid B was because I had 2 high A's on the exams and a B on another. Definitely study her power-points and think of examples.
Good professor. Makes the material manageable. She gives a lot of examples. There are four tests. If you show up everyday you can earn up to 5% extra credit in the class. I probably wouldnt have gotten an A- if it didnt move to online though.
Lady takes her introductory Marketing class wayyyy too seriously. I got a 75% on an assignment in which I introduced myself to the class... Class is a joke and the professor intentionally makes it harder to make herself feel better.
This is an introductory class for Marketing and this professor will make you not want to major in MARK. She is not very accommodating and makes the class necessarily tough for the students. If you mess up on one assignment or test it is tough to come back from it because she and her TA's are not accommodating at all to their students. Good luck.

Stay away from her! She is diffcult for no reason! She does not help with grades or give any extra credit. Her tests are so hard and any info you learn in class most likely wont be on the test. The test consists of problems you will never learn. Good luck!
Grantham is amazing! She is very knowledgeable and brings in a ton of examples and information to ensure we can grasp the concepts. Her tests can be tricky, but just by going to class and doing the easy random in-class assignments, you can get up to 5 extra credit points per test. I seriously do not know why she has bad ratings! She is great!
Grantham is nice, and I'm sure she would be fine in an in-person setting. However, her online class is very lackluster and we must teach ourselves using the textbook. The only lecture videos she has are 5 years old and only go over the most general of topics very quickly and do not cover the material at all. Do not take if online. Testsvague
She completely failed her class transition to online. Dont even bother watching her recorded videos. Tests are hard for absolutely no reason. Only way to study is to the master the material in the textbook. She tries so hard to make an online intro marketing class challenging. My best advise: do not take her online class. Wait until f2f.
Literally have never been so frustrated. All she does is outline material from the chapter in her lectures that is so broad and virtually useless. She does not care about being in a pandemic, so don't even try to use that excuse for anything. You only get 3 grades, all tests. I have taught myself everything. I will never take another class with her
Didn't think a professor could get away with putting zero effort into a class, but here we are. My dog probably put more effort into putting this class together than she did, and I don't even have a dog. Half-decade old videos that are absolutely useless for the test are the only thing she provides us with. Have to teach yourself from the book.
Take this professor if you want to pay thousands of dollars to watch Youtube videos from 2007 that are not at all relevant to exam material. Professor Grantham put barely any effort into the class, only having three actual Zoom calls for review sessions throughout the entire semester. Book and lecture don't help at all for exams.
The most "check the box" class that UGA offers. Literally cannot believe that I'm wasting money and time taking this. Were watching vague lectures from 2012 about topics, well, from 2012. She has made zero effort to modernize the course and continually gives us exams that are so unbelievably tricky. Hope she curves.
I am on my last week in the class and have learned absolutely nothing about Marketing. I'm an Honors student and hovering over a C in the class because the tests are literal bs. I've watched these vague lectures and taken notes, but it's like the tests are pulled out of thin air. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE unless you want to ruin your gpa.
This class was moved to all online due to Covid and man it was awful. She made zero effort to actually teach us and the tests had questions that would make you sit there and scratch your head. All she did was send an announcement on eLC once in a while, and that was all the communication you'll get from her. Pathetic, horrible professor. Stay away.
Tests were a little tricky, but if you took good notes and read the textbook, they weren't bad. She's super responsive to emails and answered every question I had and gave study tips when asked. Really don't understand all the bad reviews. She's not the best professor I've had but also nowhere near the worst.
Had this class fall semester with COVID so it was pretty much all online. Flipped classroom. If you don't do well when it comes to teaching yourself/reading textbooks, be prepared to fail. She doesn't teach. Lectures are not specific at all. Would not take this professor again. An intro marketing class should not have been this difficult.
The lectures are useless. Read the textbook a billion times before the exam, and Maybe you'll do well. There's no guidance in this class-no study guide, no "here's what'll be on the test"-nothing. Also doesn't help that the answers are all vague. Just do yourself a favor, and take another professor!
Do not recommend. Exams are extremely difficult to do well on no matter how thoroughly you read the textbooks/watch the lecture videos. The majority of her test questions were so vague and just incredibly random. Never managed to get an A on her tests even if I took excellent notes and studied.

I always thought I would do well because I would look over the chapters in the textbook, take notes, and watch the lectures, yet I still ended up with a B because some of the questions from the tests came out of nowhere. She would forget to switch screens during lectures etc. and left us behind. Her tests are TOO VAGUE and she worked 3 weeks ahead of her OWN syllabus. 3 tests and NO EXTRA CREDIT.
Overall, Grantham is professional, and the course is laid out simply with the due-dates clear and available; however, Grantham will not work with you. You will be one of the many, and your grade is on you. Exam questions are weirdly worded and have multiple right answers sometimes. Read the textbook and study ALL chapter vocab over-and-over.
Grantham is a respectable and competent professor. She knows her stuff. Her lectures follow the textbook with some deviations, so read the textbook very closely. The tests are very textbook heavy. Some say her tests aren't fair, but if you know the content you'll be fine. I can actually say I learned a lot from this class and enjoyed it.

During a Covid year she didn't even bother to have her chat box open OR allow students to ask any questions since they're muted. Grantham's is nice and has interesting lectures. However, if you never listened to a single word of lecture and only read the textbook you will do very well. No lecture exclusive material is on exams. Read the book. The reactionary raters telling you she is awful don't follow instructions and read the textbook. Class was easy. Literally just read.
I was so excited to take marketing, but this class was kind of a let down. Grantham is a great speaker but majority of class time was spent watching YouTube. Read textbook a million times. Pure memorization and no attempt to help get deeper understanding of content. Did not engage students. Only test grades and an accounting-based assignment.
I absolutely adore Dr. Grantham. This class is ONLY presentations. There were no quizzes or tests. All you do is show up and participate as your classmates present their work. There is 1 individual presentation & 2 group presentations. Take this class if you're looking for an easy A!!!
Prof. Grantham is definitely one of the frustrating professors I've ever taken. Her lectures/slides do not help in the slightest and all exam content is based solely on the textbook. You have to read that textbook front to back and have god-like memory/note-taking skills to ace these exams. Optional final also has the chance to HURT your grade.
She structures the class very differently than what is normal. She doesn't lecture--just student presentations and discussions. No tests. The class is very interesting and discusses real world marketing issues. Not a difficult class, but there is only a few grades.

So when her lectures are maybe 10 minutes long and barely cover anything useful, makes you wonder why you need her at all.

Not hard content at all, but a lot to memorize if you cram. Just read the textbook. The quizzes are similar to test questions. Just know the vocab and you'll ace the class. Depending on the person, you may not need to go to class at all to get the material.
This was my favorite class at UGA. It takes the pressure off with no homework or exams and you learn from your peers with individual and group presentations on issues in multicultural marketing. If you dont like participating in class or working in groups, dont take. But otherwise, this class and Grantham are great.
A maximum of 8 people went to class after the first exam. That should be the quality tell. Textbook is your friend, lectures are barely a supplement. Quizzes are potential exam questions. Exams are memorization of terms and her subjective answering technique. Exams are purposefully trying to trick you so beware.

Professor Grantham is extremely focused on race. This is supposed to be just a marketing class, but the entire class is focused on nothing but racial topics. Aside from this, she is very engaging and posts her lectures which helps.
Grantham is just OK- she doesn't seem to care too much about teaching this class, I felt like her lectures were barely a supplement to the weekly textbook readings, I didn't bother going to class. Exams are fairly difficult & over 30% each, so if you do well on the first 2 and just ok on the final you will most likely move an entire letter grade.
She is the worst prof. in Terry Core. She doesn't explain concepts well and her PowerPoints are extremely outdated. Lectures are boring and have little to do with what we are learning in class. Grantham teaches her intro MARK 3000 class exactly like MARK 4550. It's so hard to do good on her exams because the material she teaches is basically for her other class. I read the txtbk chapters, looked over all the slides posted on ELC, and studied quizlets specifically for HER course. And yet I'm still getting a C in this class. Don't take her.
Grantham provides so many ways to allow people to succeed in the course. If you are not interested in group project-heavy courses, this is not the class to take, since two of the three presentations you need to do are on a group effort. Attendance and participation is graded here, but she gives very clear feedback on topics in the class.
3 Tests = 96% of grade. Grantham is VERY SMART so if you want to learn beyond the basic concepts, take her and go to lectures. I skipped after Test 1 and studied quizlet vocab instead. Tests were not hard but often had ambiguous or new questions not covered in the textbook. So your success on her tests may come down to being a good test taker.

Professor Grantham is a great teacher that cares about her students. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and really wants her students to succeed. I highly recommend taking her class. Her lectures were good and she gave a lot of examples. By far my favorite teacher at The University of Georgia.

But you really need to read the book to do well on her exams. Go to class for any extra information and for extra credit.

Grantham's class was not hard. Says the text book is required but in all reality you do not need to read it at all. Go to lectures if you need extra credit, but for the most part you do not need to participate in lectures at all. It is very test heavy so do not mess one up.

Dr. Grantham is a great lecturer and a very nice lady. If you study before hand, read the textbook, and use examples to help with terms and definitions, you should pass every test. Show up to class and take the quizzes and sign up for stretch room to get extra points on your test. Because its so test heavy, take any extra points you can get.
This class is mostly led by student discussion and student presentations, but Dr. Grantham provides good feedback on all projects and you get the feedback really quickly after turning in the project. This is such an interesting class and the professor is so nice throughout the whole thing. Attendance is mandatory because it's discussion based.
Honestly really enjoyed her class. Was pretty lecture-heavy, but I mostly enjoyed and she gave a lot of opportunities for extra credit. She really is passionate about the material and is a great teacher if you actually listen.
What you put in is what you get out of the class, and when the professor hasn't updated their videos in FIVE years it just goes to show the effort level you have to put up with in this class
If you want to learn don't take this class. The lectures were recorded in January 2015. The tests are built off of watching 1-2 hours of videos per week and reading 2-3 textbook chapters per week. Not a very enjoyable class.
Amazing professor who is passionate about the subject, makes class interesting, and focuses on topics that will actually help you in your career. She is great and the tests are very straightforwrad and I would even say 'easy' if you study.

Professor Grantham is a wonderful lecturer and truly has a passion and understanding for marketing. McGraw Hill is the HW and it's a completion grade and 10% of your overall grade. There are 3, 50 question exams, which are in total worth 90% of your grade. The tests aren't hard but very material heavy and she doesn't offer any extra credit.
Grantham was a good professor. I thought her lectures were very interesting especially with all of her examples she provides. The tests were personally difficult at times because some of the stuff on there I felt we did not cover. The assignments due before class are super easy, just a little time consuming.

I made a C in this class when I did everything according to syllabus. The only other C, C+ I have received at UGA has been in Calc 2, for reference. Class is easy but her grading is actually ridiculous, she takes off points with no context. I would avoid if you care about your GPA.
easy class. got 100 on each test (3 in total 30% each). read textbook and pretty much every bolded term can be on test. dont sweat it lot of it is application. about 40 application questions per test and 10 definitional. so understand instead of memorize.
She is a pretty good lecturer, often the class was really interesting. However, the exams often had a few questions that seemed tricky, like there could be more than one right answer. I studied a lot for the exams and I have only made a couple of A-'s in college and this is one of them. She doesn't round final letter grade regardless of how close.
This is 100% the easiest Terry core 3000 class. Posts all her slides which is the vast majority of test content and HWs are completion and easy. She is very nice and obviously passionate about what she teaches. The most effort I had to put into the course was reading the textbook to prepare for exams. Take her!!!

Her teaching (or lack thereof) is like she has a personal vendetta against every student. Dated video lectures, eLC messages that are copy-pasted, cumulative final that CAN HURT your grade, busy textbook work with McGraw-Hill Smartbook Assessments. She doesn't even provide test make-ups! The effort she puts in is laughable.
90% of the final grade are the exams and if you want to get an A you need to put lots of effort understanding every page of the textbook. Lecture videos are pretty old and need to be updated. Not too bad of a course.

Grantham is great. The connect assignments are good for studying. Her lack of reviews is probably because her class does not raise any big opinions. Not super life changing but not difficult by any means. I would recommend. Her lectures actually keep you interested and awake but no one really goes to class :(

Dr. Grantham is a very passionate lecturer. The lectures were pretty interesting and overall the class was very easy. Everyone should take this class; The professor is kind. The class facilitates great discussion and the topics are often engaging and interesting. Three projects make up your grade but as long as you do the reading, follow her directions, and ask her for clarification in office hours, it should be relatively easy to achieve a great grade.

I really liked her until I emailed her about one of my grades not transferring and she was so rude in her response. She also made us go to the chapel for a speech thing, told us we would not get the recording, and didn't even come herself. She also later posted the recording… inconsiderate
You don't have to go to class. All you need to do for an A is read the slides and do the recharges for the smartbooks. The exams are a huge chunk of your grade, but they are free. Put in a good amount of studying the night before and you'll be fine. She is a kind professor and respectable. She is interesting to listen to and uses cool examples.

She mainly used class times to provide examples which were helpful to understand concepts but most of the exam questions come from the textbook. 90% grade=Exams
Professor Grantham is a great professor. Class time is full of examples to really drive home the points she is trying to make. The questions on the test cover the material that the homework quizzes you on, so if you understand the homework, the tests should be fine. My only gripe is that sometimes she would use class time a little inefficiently.

The class is very test heavy with three test making 90% of the grade, however, if you read the book the test are really straightforward questions. Just quite a bit of reading the textbook and it's really unavoidable, but if you actually do the readings the tests are easy.
Grantham is excellent. She's passionate about the course and truly values participation. There are 3 projects (1 individual, 2 group) plus daily self-evaluated participation. The projects are interesting, and putting in effort leads to strong grades. Highly recommend as a lighter, engaging elective.
Dr. Grantham is a great lecturer and is passionate about what she teaches. However, I don't think her exams reflect the material well. There were always about 7 questions that were on the exam that seemed completely unfair. She would stress certain topics in class, then not put them on the exam, but others she said not to worry about would appear.

Her class was not difficult to pay attention in, and she also brings in cool guest speakers.That being said, the exams were surprisingly difficult and did require a decent amount of studying. The class is doable, but a lot of my friends did end the class with an A- or a B+.
I really liked Dr. Grantham, her enthusiasm is the only reason I kept coming to class. While attendance isn't mandatory, it doesn't hurt since she is a passionate lecturer and often does reviews in class that she doesn't post to eLC and that are almost exactly the same as the questions on the exams.
She's passionate about her subject, but tests feel unfairly hard. They are very conceptual and hard to study for. The three tests make up 90% of your grade and she stresses not to take the final because it can and will drop your average. The homework is McGraw Hill Connect and takes a very disproportionate amount of time to do to the 10% it counts.
TAKE HER!! All you do is present 3 times over the whole semester, and sit in class and "listen" to other people present. Attendance is mandatory, but no class on Fridays for "group project work". TAKE IT!
She is an amazing lecturer and gives constant reminders about upcoming dates. Her expectations for the class is clear and she is caring. The tests are harder than seem necessary with the way that she teaches and the material we are learning, so just make sure to study a decent amount before each test. Reading the textbook helps in my experience.
3 exams which are hard. im not a good test taker so i barely passed because of how heavily the exams were weighed. shes very helpful when you need it so if youre struggling REACH OUT! she wants you to and will help you as much as you need. theres random pop quizzes about once a week but theyre not hard and dont count towards your final grade
Not a bad person, and energetic during class, but the type of professor to make take their class to seriously and make it harder intentionally.
