Kim is a great teacher, very nice and approachable. The class is easy enough. There are online quizzes for every chapter, four tests and either experiments or a paper. The only problem I had with her was at the end, she entered the wrong quiz grade and penalized my paper for being late, when I had proof that it wasn't. I still ended up with an A.

cool/interesting class. online quizzes can be taken multiple times, so easy 100%. tests could match lecture a bit better, but follow her study guides and you'll be fine. the many online quizzes cushioned me from any bad test grades. one pg final paper so easy! do the experiments EARLY though!!!!

You definately earn your grade with this prof. She is extermely helpful and does her best to be useful for the students. Does get off topic easily but her lectures are always worth going to to.

I took 101 as an online class and Prof. Henderson was fantastic! She shows a genuine interest in how her students are doing in the class and if you miss an assignment she follows up with you to find out why. I ended up missing three journal assignments which cost me my A, but that was entirely on me. She's an EXCELLENT professor!

I was kind of surprised to read the comments about how hard the tests and quizzes are... both are open book and open note and I haven't found any very hard at all. If you come to class and remember to keep on top of the quizzes, tests, and class engagements, you should be fine. She's entertaining to listen to, but just manage your time well.

She is fun, engaging, and really makes it a point to listen to and help her students. low class work, a weekly quiz, and biweekly tests. all you have to do to pass this class is attend lecture and study lightly. She was one of the greater professors i've had here at boise state! The class isn't easy, but if you study and read the book you'll be fine. tests are open book/note. she makes class fun and interesting, while still maintaining a professional atmosphere. I definitely recommend taking this class from her!

Unforunately, she did not have open book/open notes in my class, which made the tests pretty hard for multiple choice. As a lecturer she does a great job of keeping your attention and getting her point across. You earn your A in this class with the tests, but anyone complaining about it has no business in a 300 level class!

If you take from Henderson, don't let things get away from you, do your research hours as soon as you can, she gives out a lot of busy work, almost to the point it is annoying. She is entertaining, but at times can be over the top. She was very clever to give out course evaluations before you know exactly what your grade is. Go to class.

This class is not hard, it just requires effort. I received an A in this class. This is my first semester of college after being out of school for 16 yrs. I have a husband and two kids to take care. If I can get an A in this class, anyone can. You just have to do the work. I also had 18 credits this semester. Dr Henderson is GREAT

Abnormal Psychology is finally a psych class filled with what you really want to know about psychology, and Dr. Henderson makes it very interesting and relevant. She is a great instructor, and demands respect without always giving it in return. Be prepared to be turning in a paper/assignment or taking a test or quiz weekly. Not easy, but do-able

Henderson shows her worst the first 2 weeks. She follows the syllabus to the T. Very interesting. Connects content to your own life. Do the work and give them thoughts and the content will stick. Doesn't take attendance yet you need to go to class. 50-60% of test questions come from lecture. Sit behind the TAs (they write lecture questions).

Great professor. She relates the subject to your life and has a great sense of humor. She is respectful of opinions but has a tendancy to be rude if she disagrees. She will not budge on her grading and she has no sympathy for slackers.

She is hard, but she is such a dork, and super funny, She loves sex, and loves to talk about it. She likes twilight, and she will tell you about it. But she is a great teacher and really helps you understand the subject. Ask questions!

Lecture is never boring. You learn more than what's presented in the textbook which is always a plus. You have to put forth effort so if you're looking for an easy A, don't take this class. Half the tests are based off lecture so you have to go.

Interesting lecturer and gives easy assignments for easy points instead of just a bunch of tests. All tests are online except midterm and final. Going to class sometimes was pointless except to get the scarce notes down. If you read and know the book, you'll do fine. There are a few questions on tests you'll only get if you go to lecture.

She is AWESOME!! I loved going to her class. Lecture is always interesting and she has so much love for psychology that you will love it too! Her tests and quizzes are not easy but not extremely difficult. Take the time and study and you will be fine! Do the work and you WILL get a good grade!! They are easy enough, but the points really add up, so DO THEM. Tests can be tricky, pay attention to statistics and facts about the disorders she talks about. Take good notes on the movies as well.

I was a TA for Henderson's 101 class and it was really great. She just asked that you attend class and take notes to write the quiz questions. One meeting a week and then grading of assignments.

Henderson is great. Her lectures are more than entertaining. Stay on top of Blackboard and all the assignments she assigns and you will do fine. Her exams are a little tough, but she is helpful. I would def recommend her.

This class requires a lot of work. Go to class to get participation points. At the end of the semester, she picks 4 participation days (25 pts. each) and there's your participation grade. If you miss one day, you won't get the points. READ THE TEXTBOOK. She has reading checks every week for the chapter(s) read.

I loved this class!! I was somewhat interested in psychology before, but now love it and even changed my major. Dr. Henderson does make you work for your grade, but you can earn an A if you really try. It is a hard class and you learn a lot. Don't take it though as a bird course cause it's not, but it is entertaining and she's a great professor.

Excellent professor. Very helpful and understanding when I fell behind due to my wife's emergency surgery. Dr. Henderson worked with me to help me get back on track after missing two weeks of class, although she was the only one to require a doctor's note. Textbook not used in class, but lot's of reading assignments. Highly recommend her class.

She is an overall good professor: she's funny, knows the material, etc. Her test are tough, and I honestly don't think they correspond very well with the material that she covers in class. The class is curved though, so just make sure you COMPLETE all assignments and you will be fine. Don't bomb the tests either.

Her class was good. The tests aren't the easiest, but very possible to get an A. Just keep on track with the work she assigns. She explains concepts very well, and I am able to grasp everything clearly during lectures. She allows mobile phones and laptops, but we have to be segregated in order to use them. Psych 101 with Henderson is easy to pass if you just do the work. She makes everything very clear in her syllabus. If you need help, she is very willing to help during her office hours. There is no B.S. with Dr. Henderson. If you are looking for an easy A, don't take her. You WILL learn a lot from her. I hated the textbook but it's essential to the class. Her lectures are absolutely engaging and entertaining. She is quite humorous but very blunt. You must be a great note taker. Tests are based on NOTES and TEXT. Final was tough.

Make sure you call her Doctor or Professor. Great lecturer, makes things relevant but do not expect to engage in a discussion of psychology beyond a 101 level. No real world application or controversial ideas. There are tons of assignments, read your book and use it on those assignments, if you do really well on assignments tests barely matter.

She is an overall nice teacher and I enjoyed her lectures, but you MUST respect the syllabus in this class. She screwed me over with an assignment over a technicality resulting in a much lower grade even though I had done all of the work. Besides that, I would recommend her. She will also try to scare you away on the first day, don't she's EASY.

I am a non-traditional student who took Dr. Henderson's class. As an older student I can tell you she is the best I have encountered in all my years of schooling, professional life and continuing education. Her lectures were the reason I am a Psychology Major.

My first college class was her Psych 101 class. It was by far my favorite class as the material was very interesting to me and her lectures were fun to sit through as she made you laugh throughout class. The test were challenging to me but if you do the readings and pay attention in class then you should do better than I did.

Professor Henderson is so great! Her lectures are super entertaining and I feel like I have honestly learned a ton this year. The class is very test heavy with little to no homework (besides a weekly quiz) so you really have to make sure you actually read the textbook.

As a TA and a student of Henderson I can say that is an amazing professor. While she seems intimidating and like a lot of work everything she makes you do is worthwhile and is in an effort to help you as a student.

She comes across as very intimidating, but if you put in the work there is no reason you shouldn't pass. The tests are challenging, but all the other assignments were fairly easy. The answers for all the reading checks are online, and she offered weekly extra credit assignments that can really help your grade.

She laid out everything that would happen in the beginning of the semester. The exams are the only thing that are hard but if you show up to every lecture you will be fine. Every week you have a lab and reading guide due. She's a really tough grader. There is lecture specific questions on tests, so you have to go. She doesn't allow students to record her lectures. But overall she is hilarious!

If you do your work and put in effort into understanding the subject, you will do well. She's a really funny professor and you can tell that she really cares about what she teaches. She has some strict rules and demands respect but it honestly makes the class a lot better that way. If you have the opportunity, take her class -- you'll learn a lot.

Dr. Henderson is very knowledgeable and does a great job teaching this class. She makes lectures very enjoyable and shes hilarious. You do have to work for your grade but that way you will actually learn. 100% recommend for psych majors or anyone who is interested in psychology.

Prof Henderson is an extremely tough grader, but an overall really great professor. In both classes I have taken with her I have truly understood the material and enjoyed the entire process of learning it. The only things I don't love about her have to do with grading expectations. Assignments are often unclear, and she grades very tough.

Professor Henderson is by far my favorite professor at BSU. She makes you work for your grade but also makes the class fun and enjoyable. I genuinely looked forward to going to this class and her high energy was a large reason for that. If you get the opportunity to take this class, do it, but expect to work for a good grade.

However, there was a ton of extra credit offered and she was always willing to meet up over zoom outside of class to talk about your grades and how to improve. Dr. Henderson was one of my first professors at Boise State. She is absolutely amazing and is very caring towards everyone she encounters. For a Psych 101 class, she is tough, but isn't too hard, where you will be drowning in her class. She is funny during lecture and helps the class understand concepts, by relating them to her life or social media

Fair, motivated, engaging, and kind professor. Yes, the class is hard, but you will be forced to learn. Lots of homework, and you need to put in extra work to get a good grade. Would definitely recommend to first years.

Dr. Henderson was an outstanding prof, I always enjoyed going to her class. Dont expect to skip class and slack, but still pass. There is more work than some other profs, but it helps to solidify the content. She was very engaged and provided great feedback. Psych 101 is very fun with Dr. Henderson! You earn the grade you get. Lots of extra credit!

I loved professor Henderson's class. She does an amazing job keeping you actively engaged and I guarantee that you will laugh at least once per class. She gives lots of homework but the TA's grade MOST of it and they give great feedback on what should be done differently going forward. She also offers lots of extra credit, take advantage of it.

By far the best class I've ever taken and definitely my favorite professor ever! Assignments aren't super hard, but you learn a lot. Her lectures are very engaging and I looked forward to going to them. I would definitely recommend showing up to class, if you don't want to then you won't get as much. She also provides extra credit. Amazing person!!

Dr. Henderson was great. She made lectures fun and entertaining while also keeping you engaged in the information. She doesn't grade work, her TA's do, but they leave helpful comments on all assignments so that you can get the full credit in the future. My best advice would be to do the work on time, attend lectures, and do the E/C when offered.

Professor Henderson has a great teaching style that keeps the class engaged. Also she does a great job making sure the class has a understanding of what is going on in the class.

She was a great teacher for lectures and is very engaging. She does assign a good amount of homework but it is all pretty easy. As long as you turn your stuff in youll be fine. Her grading system is a little weird and she rarely gives feedback on why you got the grade you did. Overall, good teacher and I would take her again.

I loved prof Henderson. I am convinced the bad reviews were those of students who were too soft to understand her humor. Her lectures were always engaging and she always found a way to make the day fun. I had horrible attendance, got a B for simply doing my homework and getting C's on both the midterm and final. Such an easy class, minimal effort.

The lectures were super fun and engaging. Her tests are really hard though. If you do your homework you will do completely fine in this class. She is also always available to help you succeed!

Henderson scared me the first week. That quickly morphed into enjoying her class. She's engaging and goes through material quick (7 week course). With some extra time, I was easily able to stay on top of assignments and content. She does have a unique sense of humor, and has many stories centered on herself - she isn't for everyone.

Professor Henderson was a very 50/50 professor for me. She is extremely political and yes, the rumors are true and she does talk a lot about her personal life and children's sexualities. However, looking at her as a teacher she is fantastic. Her lectures are long but well structured and she cares about what she teaches.

Dr. Henderson is amazing. She can be pretty intense sometimes but if you have a good sense of humor, then it's worth it. She is always willing to help you succeed. I met with her over zoom to go over a midterm and it was so helpful. There is a lot of busywork assignments, but it's good because it helps boost your grade if you don't test well.

I was say she was a very welcoming person as soon as you walked into her room, and can also make you laugh within the 5 seconds of meeting her. She's very chill, outgoing, and very honest I'll say, which I don't say most about teachers. She also seems very understanding of things which I like. Other than that I'd say she's super awesome.

Henderson can be intense, but her class is engaging if you have a sense of humor. The material moves quickly, but with some extra effort and tools like unstuckstudy ai, you can stay on top of it. Overall, an enjoyable experience.

I loved this class! There is quite a bit of homework assigned but it is honestly pretty easy. She does not have study guides for the big tests, but the assignment ARGs are very useful to study if you put effort into them. Definitely take notes during the lectures because most of the things she talks about in class will be discussed on the tests.

I had her for PSYC 111 and LOVED her! It was only a 5 week course so the fact that attendance mattered was not a huge deal. We almost never had HW and if we did it was pretty easy. Very engaging professor!!

Such a caring and respectful person! Offers and encourages different perspectives and pathways, and always blunt about her expectations. This class wasn't homework heavy by any means, and even then, it's very easy and mindful work.
