Very easy class considering it's biology. She's very organized and tests straight from notes.
Class is based on powerpoints and some lectures. Professor is nice and helpful if you ask questions. Gives extra credit points to help improve your midterm exams and lets you take an extra final to replace one low test score.
great teacher, easy, clear lectures. She gives quizzes which helps keep the info in d head. she offers xc and a lot of it when I was in her class. On tests, usu gives xc on bogus questions she messed up on.I got about 6% more ea quiz.tests were all from lec
As a anatomy teacher = BORING will put you to sleep and you will never want to come to class. Majority of the class does poorly on exams because her questions are vague, DON'T TAKE HER
She's a good lecturer. Doesn't mind slow learners. Encourages questions. Says funny stuff. Looks tired and dissatisfied with life and science, but has totally different attitude when u get to know her. Practical exams are challenging. Know your stuff. Makes u do flow charts and keep a notebook. Take
i think she is boring
Jesu is an awful teacher, she does not help the students in class at all. when you ask for help, she does not want to come over and help in lab. she also discriminates people if she does not like them . she is also a tuff grader. she is borrrrring to listen to in lecture.
anatomy is anatomy. i learned mostly from book, lab, and other science classes and got A. lectures are boring because its anatomy, there is nothing to teach, its just memorization. tests are all multiple choice.
She's very laid back, but lind of scattered. You HAVE to go to class because her tests are straight from her lectures. As long as you write down what she is saying and study it, you'll pass. Her tests are m.c. She can be funny also. I thought she was cool- GO TO CLASS
A fun teacher to have. She's very helpful and her tests are easy. I rarely went to class and I'm getting an A in the class. Take down her notes and study off of it. It's biology so there's obviously going to be studying involved. If you ask her questions, she'll answer.
I thought she was fantastic! Her lectures were very clear and I loved the fact that we got Study Guides with everything that will be on the test before hand, making studying much easier and more efficient.I would love to take her again. She also was funny and very nice. Her 'laid-back' approach made class comfortable and relaxed while we learned.
Great class. The professor is very passionate about the subject she teaches. The study guides are very helpful, and I encourage you to go to her study sessions before the exams. Although people say you don't have to buy the books, I suggest you do because its helpful in doing the study guide. I would take another of her classes if given the chance.
She is a great teacher. Very organized, study guides are great. She gives many opportunities for extra credit. Her lectures are funny and analogies really help to explain the concepts. She clearly loves what she teaches.
The class was better than i thought. I wasnt looking forward to taking bio but the class isnt hard at all. a lot of extra credit and the study guides help alot. She is a good teacher and the class is a piece of cake!!!!

Good professor, class isnt too hard just pay attention to lecture and do the study guides. Really nice lady and willing to compromise.
This is lab but she lectures more than the lecture professor. Be prepared to write a LOT. It isn't a hard lab but it gets annoying with all the information she guves and uses a little bit of it on the exams. Make sure to learn the slides of chicks, pigs, etc.
The lecture for Bio 100 was boring. However she offered a lot of extra credit work to make up your grade. Just 4 tests. Thats all!
lectures are boring, but a lot of extra credit.. easy class
Eh, it's a Bio class, so bleh. But she makes it semi-interesting, and it takes minimal effort to get by. She offers study guides, fairly straight-forward exams, and lots of extra credit! Definitely a good choice.
Professor Jesu was very nice, she is willing to help and repeat things over for those who don't get the information. Personally I hate Biology and I am not good at it. She gave us alot of extra credit and I am so thankfull for that. So for those who aren't good at Biology I recommend taking her.
Nice professor..STUDY TESTS..as you continue tests get harder..you have to go to class to get lectures..gives out extra credit.. if you do all extra credit you will pass with at least a C-..can be really boring at times but she tries to make it understandable as much as possible..
Really cool teacher, gives a lot of extra credit, half of notes are used on the tests the other half from the book. Is available for help. Very clear on what she expects. If you find yourself confused you obviously are not paying attention. All the info is on the syllabus.
simply put...I never went to class except for the first day and the test days. I missed one of her 5 tests & got C's on the other 4...never took notes never opened the book...I did the 2 extra credits she gave and also turned in the extra credit ?s she puts up everyday and she offers a make up final to make up for missed tests...I passed with a C
Everyone that says she's good is out of their mind. You HAVE to go to lec, you HAVE to write every word. She is the WORST person i've known, and will not look twice at your answers. dont even think about it.
she doesn't use our text book for her lectures!! she uses some other books. she grades the exam strictly. she doesn't offer any extra credit at all. she doesn't curve the grades so basically half of our class are getting "D" and failing the class.
Jesu knows her stuff. At times, her lectures go too quickly. She doesn't post/pass out the PowerPoints, so you have to take good notes. The class contains lots of info and you must study if you want to pass. 5 exams including final, 1 interview assignment, and an optional exam (to replace the score of a lower exam). Tough, but informatice class.
it's really hard to keep track of her lectures. she talks really fast and moves the slide on power point really fast you really need to super fast to write down every single word that she says or has on her power point. usually her lectures dont match with what there's in the book so basically u need to study from several books.
I can't say I recommend her. It's very difficult to get a good grade in her class. Not curve, no extra credit. Just straight points. And her tests are pretty difficult. Write down everything she says and only study that. Even when she contradicts the textbook, go by her lecture. She showed up 15 minutes late on exam day TWICE!
Prof. Jesu's class is a give-&-take-kind of class. You have to work hard if you want to get an A. However, you will learn a lot from her. She can be quite difficult for those who are lazy when it comes to studying. Take advantage of the extra credit points and study guides because it is very beneficial. She gives four exams & a final in the end.
THE WORST TEACHER EVER!!!!
Got an A - had to really work in this easy class. Tests are mostly based on class notes. Some Q's are vague/pulled out of a hat. Too lazy to spend time putting together exams/there are constantly errors. Showed up hours late to meet a classmate. Most of the class gets F/Ds. Biased - likes if you ask dumb Qs, unkind if you point out her mistakes.
this is the worst professor i ever had. the class material is not hard, but she makes it really for the student. she assume all student know everything. the test is very very hard she makes the test like 500 level class. therefore, 60% of the students are fail is her class. if you take her class, you better have a strong background in biology.
Jesu knows her stuff and is very helpful. She also makes her lectures easy to understand. The only problem I have with this teacher is her exams. Considering this is what your grades count on, its a big problem. They seem thrown together and half of it is on mundane details. About 60% of the class consistently scores D's or lower on the exams.
Ok if your looking for an easy A forget her. I mean you really got to learn the material. Biology's 107 is not a difficult class, she blows it wayy out of proportion. The essay part of the tests totally screw you over. she covers stuff in so much detail you wouldn't even find it in the book.
Nice professor, must go to lecture though, or else you won't do good on the tests.
I really really enjoyed this class, she is so knowledgable about the human body, which is great for Nursing students! She gives study guides you complete while she is teaching the subject. She offers EC too! I'm taking her again for ANAT!
im definitely not her biggest fan. she goes through lecture extremely fast and you pretty much have to know and understand every word she says to perform well on exams. your hand will hurt by the time class is over..her voice shows no emotion and she made bio boring. i love biology but this class was hell. i dont know, i personally didnt think she
Her mono-tone voice will put you to sleep. Her class is very very boring and she shows no enthusiasm for anything. Tests come straight from the online quizes out of the book. Bring your laptop or you will be extremely bored.
Her voice may put you to sleep but if you get enough sleep and your ready to learn she has alot of valuable information to teach. get the book to ensure an A, good notes = B. allows students to turn any work at the final.
Monotonous but definately knows her stuff. Jokes, too. Use the online quizzes from the textbook because she takes questions from there. She'll take questions from her notes as well. 5 tests not commulative(50 pts each) and 1 assignment (25 pts). She'll give you an optional commulative test on the day of the last test to replace your lowest score.
She is a fair teacher. Everyone kept failing the tests, so she gave us a ton of xtra credit options. Tests are straight from lecture... But you HAVE to study to get that A. She isn't the easiest, but if you try, its not THAT hard. Most of my class did horribly because they didn't study. I liked her though. FUnny jokes
She was terrible. Put the whole class to sleep, boring lectures. Very unclear, very hard.
Nice Lady! its bio so you have to study a bit! She makes it as clear as can be during class and her exams are extremely easy if u pay attention in class. Lectures do get boring but if you pay attention you wont have to study as much. Good professor! gives some extra credit and you have to go to the zoo for an assignment.
She's a terrible instructor. She's not too happy to help outside of class. Condescending when responding to e-mails. BORING lectures. You might as well read the book solely bc her lectures are straight from the book. 4 MC midterms 1 final. No Curve.
This is for Embryo Lab with Jesu. The class is interesting, boring ass lectures, she literally lectures for 2 of the 3 hours! her exams are easy if you study her power point slides and she even gives 25 pts e/c for tutoring bio greenhorns. A presentation at the end of the semester that's easy. Microscope use on the exams is very minimal.
fair teacher. easy A just read your txt book and you'll do fine on the exams. She is kinda boring but she goes over and over the topic so it sticks in your head!
SUPER MONOTONE BUT GOES OVER TOPICS VERY CLEARLY. 100 MC EXAMS. SOME QUESTIONS COME FROM ONLINE QUIZZES AND TO GET AN A IN THE CLASS READ THE CHAPTERS. I DIDNT READ AND GOT A B
Very nice, funny, and easygoing. Exams are challenging, but she's very helpful. Class assignments are fun, different, and simple. Do the work, pass the exams, and you'll do fine.
Currently still taking the class, but Jesu is seriously hands down one of the best! Anatomy was HORRIBLE with Nishiyama, and thanks to her had to retake again. Anat is doable with Jesu, I studied the night before and have been getting B+. She's funny, and helpful. RECOMMENDED!
Professor Jesu is a great Biology teacher. She is very fair and knows what she is talking about. Lectures may be monotone, but she lays out everything you should know for the test. There are no surprise questions, so if you take notes and use her practice online quizzes you'll do fine. Has a good sense of humor and is very generous with points.
Lectures are very lengthy, but they're up on Moodle. Grade is based on four online assignments, a "field trip" Q&A assignment, three tests and a final. She offers an optional exam during the final.
Do not take her if the course isn't in your field of study. Only Bio, Health Studies, Kinesiology, etc. will get a B or above (I'm a bio major). Very monotone. She seems uninterested in students that are struggling and focuses on those doing well. Lectures are posted online. However, test topics are on her spoken lecture, not her powerpoint.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH KIM JESU! She's tardy! Her lecture slides do not match the ones she posts (if and when she posts them). Her quizzes online do not have the right answers and there are a lot of misspellings. Her exams are very random. She has no interest in the subject she's teaching and does not care to help her students.
She makes topics interesting, notes are online, 1 make up exam, very little hw, 1 easy field trip, students make up 20 questions to be on exams. I got a B without the book. Just do what your suppose to and you will be fine, I should have gotten an A but i bombed an exam cause i came to class forgetting there was an exam today. Opps!!
Her class was very easy to pass. I didn't buy the book and didn't really pay attention and i passed with a B. All her lecture notes are online. There is one easy group assignment to do. She is a great prof and it's easy to pass her class. Her lectures are very boring and can put you to sleep.
Jesu is an excellent teacher. Her lectures are straight forward and all the test questions are based off of the lectures. The book wasn't really needed but it was handy for review and extra examples and diagrams. Fun field trip like project and homework assignments were a breeze!
She is an excellent professor... She lecture well keeping students interested in the material by cracking up jokes about the material and giving interesting real life examples.
this teacher is legit... i wish there were more teachers like her, she made everything so easy and even gave extra credit for making a appointment to go to her office hours to help you with anything you didnt understand and talking about your career goals
She is awesome. Anatomy isn't easy and it's a lot to remember but she makes it interesting and fun. Don't even look at the book study all her slides to do well on her tests. Recording her lectures is good as well. Take her she's great!
Jesu knows a lot about what she's teaching, answers questions with a sufficient answer. Write down everything she says or use a recorder. And study her pps, your lectures notes, and only the images from the book and you'll do very well. BUT be warned, she tends to talk a lot and falls behind, and expects you to read rest for the exam the next week
Incredible professor. 10 extra credit points for just visiting her office. Allows 3 attempts to complete online quizzes. If you know the quizzes, you will ace the exams. Explains concepts and posts helpful videos on Moodle.
She is a great professor and shows concern for her students. She gives great advice. There are online quizzes that give us 3 chances to complete them and the highest score is taken. There are 4 hard exams and one optional exam that replaces your lowest grade. She assigned us an interview with a person in our career of interest but its really wonderful
Professor Jesu was great! She introduced the concepts clearly and effectively. She really understands and appreciates biology and that is conveyed in her lectures. I always looked forward to attending class. Her tests were hard but doable if you studied the material very throughly. absolutely recommend her!
Her class was very boring but in comparison to the other professors that teach BIO107, she's the best one as she has practice quizzes which make up about half of the exams (the other half from .ppt). No book is required to pass this class--just take notes on the .ppt, GO TO PLF (this is important), and do all of the quizzes.
Very good instructor, knows what she is talking about and loves it. Very few assignments, 4 exams, final is not cumulative, very funny in class, and very approachable. She did fall behind a lot as far as covering material but what we did cover we learned well.
If you want a real lecture don't take this class!! She posts powerpoints on Moodle and talks over them in class (pretty boring) she tries to make it interesting but didnt really motivate alot of people. 5 hw assignments, 4 exams (final is not cumulative. Fell behind in class when covering material.
Dr Kimberly is really good prof, she is very kind and helpful. she helped me a lot when I struggled in the beginning of the class. just talk to her and she is more happy to help. I hope other pros are like her. She give extra assignment and one extra optional test. would recommend her but you have to take notes and because it's important for test
Fair professor. Lectures are long but clear! Best way to study for course: record and take detailed notes after. Tests are fair and straight from lectures. I found reading the book a waste of time.Online quizzes: open book. noncumulative tests every third week.Cumulative final, but it wasn't too bad. Not an easy A,but not bad. Very glad i took her!
Basically this class is no where near easy, this is my second time taking it but first time with this professor. She made me go crazy, we had to study the power points she gave us, about 80-100 slides full of info. PLUS we had to read the text book. All that studying and still the tests were hard. She does not help at all when we ask for it!
HORRIBLE PROFESSOR. She can careless about her own students. You fail an exam cause she messed up? She doesn't care. She's horrible, her tests are super hard. Despite you studying your butt off, doesn't work. Incredibly unorganized. WOULD NOT TAKE HER. IF you need this credit go to a community college and take it.
Awful professor. Attending lecture seems almost pointless because she just reads off of her slides. If I wanted to read a powerpoint I would stay home. She is very unorganized, and will do things like only cover 3 out of 5 chapters for an exam and expect students to do the rest themselves. Even with 53% averages on exams she won't curve them.
DO NOT TAKE PROFESSOR JESU. Studied my butt off for every test yet didn't do very well & I'm a good student. Didn't help in office hours. Basically called me stupid. Tests are hard. No chance of there being a curve. Take at a community college.
3 tests, optional cumulative makeup final. Lots of online hw and 5 pt. lecture quizzes to boost grades. She is clear in lectures, tests directly from notes, but you need to work hard to keep up not procrastinate. She gave tons of extra credit at the end. Got a B, A, and C on exams and because of hw, quizzes: A total and would take her again!! :)
To be fair, bio 281 is a tough class. That being said, this was the craziest bio class I have ever taken. You can try recording lecture and listen to it again later but it's still dull. You have to learn EVERYTHING to do well on the test. 4 multiple choice test , 1 cumulative. Do the online hw & quizzes to boost your grade. You'll need it.
I didn't like her "I'm always right and if you do bad it's your fault" attitude. I got an A in the class but I don't think that she's a good professor. She does not curve and the amount of material covered on each test is unreasonable. Study hard and be prepared to dread your Saturdays. An A is possible if you work hard for it.
I would take another class with her. But some feedback I'd give her if she was reading any of these reviews is ditch the daily lecture quizzes, they take too long on average cut 15 minutes of lecture time. We had to cram a lot and self-teach because we lost out on lecture time. More office hours for just questions during extra credit appointments.
She really wants her students to do well and get to know us. Her exams are from lecture notes, there is lots of extra credit, quizzeshw help boost grades. I found her exams ok, but exam 3 had barely any dna chapters which was confusing since we spent so much time doing them, and adding questions from the last chapter we never got to was harsh
SO jesu.. I had no Idea i mean NO idea what my grade was at any point in this class and Im one of those students that always has to know. I got Bs on the tests did all the homework basically failed all the in class pop quizzes and got an A. The only thing I can say is you need to study her slides, its more based on those than the actual text.
Professor Jesu is an amazing person she really knows her stuff and is very fair with grading. I'm not the best test taker and I still managed an A in her class. Do all of the classwork and homework it can really save your grade. Also make sure you do her career project (if its still offered).
good and very fair professor, would definitely take this class again gives extra credit and lots of chances to do well
AVOID if eager to learn, especially if you're a pre-health major. I thought I would be really into physiology until I took her. I'm and A student and fell asleep in her class. Reads off all of her slides. Monotone. Only covers 35 chapters that will be on the test. You should just stay home and read the book if you want to learn human physiology.
When you ask questions during the lecture she will help you as clearly as she can. She is a good teacher during the lecture. The only thing that she lacks are the lectures are too long which make everyone be behind more then what they are suppose to. Other then that she is a good teacher. Good luck taking her class.
She is sooo rude and mean!!!!!
Horrible professor! Reads of her slides so class is boring. She always starts off with "i expect you to already know this" so barley anything is explained. Emailed her on better studying tactics and she didn't respond, emailed her again about a grade and she was very rude and defensive. If you can, AVOID this teacher!!!
Lectures are very long and dull. Tests are also long and difficult, She gives us powerpoints to study but they are overloaded with information and becomes overwhelming. On top of that, there are some questions in her tests that are not covered in either her slides or textbook.
Do not take this professor for bio 281. Her tests are very hard as she does not provide study guides. Chapters are long and dense and her lectures/slides do not prepare you for the exam. More than half of your class will fail the first two exams.
AVOID!! - DO NOT TAKE BIOL.281 WITH THIS PROFESSOR.
AVOID CLASS AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!! I had to take this class for my major and I have never regretted something so much in my life. Her lectures are dry and boring and her tests are ridiculously difficult. She is not lenient whatsoever in regards to her grading or explaining. Do yourself a favor and take this class anywhere else with anybody else.
I'm a straight A student, and received my very first D. I studied for the first two exams like crazy, and received a D both times. Her lectures ave about 80 slides a chapter, and are so full of info that it's impossible to understand everything. She "lectures" by sitting in front of her computer and sounds like she's talking to herself. Avoid!
Professor literally just stands in front of class & reads off her power point slides. There is so much info in the slides it is almost impossible to memorize it all. On top of that the book is MORE info. she doesn't give study guides, so you basically have to try & remember everything She has other stuff on test so hope what you studied was enough
This "professor" seriously needs to be evaluated. Everything is self taught, exams are extremely hard, nd her lectures are dull nd not very engaging at all. You're paying a lot of money for an extremely poor teacher who doesn't seem to care about her students. Avoid her at all cost.
Lectures are very dull, but the main problem with this class is the exams and how she doesn't really help her students prepare for them. She gives powerpoints with 70+ slides/chapter, and each exam is about 3-4 chapters w/no study guide. Although you have an online textbook w/practice problems, it wont really help for the test. AVOID this class
Don't take this class with this professor.. Doesn't help, long lectures where she just reads her slides... No point of even showing up to class.. Doesn't respond to emails !!! Horrible
I wish I would've known what I was getting myself into before taking this class. Im an A student and this class derailed my streak. I studied hours and hours but her tests dont seem to cover what she lectures about.
If you are considering taking BIOL.281 with this professor.... DON'T. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH JESU. DO NOT. DO NOT!!!!!!!! Even if it means you have to take it next semester with a different professor, do it. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER.
This was potentially the worst class I've ever taken. You could study for days and the exams are still impossible to pass. For her lectures she reads off her extremely long slides that she also posts online. The only material I've learned and understood from this class was the material that I covered from the book on my own. DO NOT TAKE THIS!
The worst class and the worst professor I've ever had. I studied for days and days and it just didn't cut it. You literally have to memorize and understand the entire book and her ridiculously long powerpoints to pass this class. It's a PHYSIOLOGY class and she just sits there and reads the slide, and doesn't care if you understand. DO NOT TAKE!
AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. This class gave me nightmares. Seriously, she is a horrible professor. Her lectures have absolutely NOTHING to do with her exams, Its ridiculous. Seriously, avoid. I don't understand how she still has a job.
Horrible. Just avoid this professor at all costs. There are no study guides for a 75 question test on 5 chapters. Ridiculous how she expects you to understand what she is testing students on in such a short amount of time.
Professor Jesu was actually a pretty good choice for microbiology. She went over everything that needed to be reviewed for exams during lecture. Just be sure to watch the lecture captures and do the tutorial quizzes and you'll be good.
hands down the worst professor i have every taken in my life. She comes in to class with a monotone voice stares at the wall across the class and just yaps. She doesn't finish covering everything for the test and says you can look at the lecture capture from the Saturday class. Well i would have taken the Saturday class if i wanted to do that.
Jesu seems to not be a fan favorite and its no coincidence, im taking her for 281 and out of the 30 people ive talked to in this class only one is receiving a passing grade. Avoid at all costs but know if you do take her, that her lectures are completely useless to study from. Her tests are entirely based on the book. dont take
Just a really poor teacher. After a while I went to class and just ended up leaving half way through to save my sanity, she was just mind numbing in just reading her slides. Not sure what else to say, really did study, but tests were very wordy and confusing.
Jesu's class is soo boring! Lectures were boring. She doesn't help you at all. Not to mention the tests were HARD! She gave extra credit but it wasn't enough. The only great part about this class was the people I met.
ATTENTION! Please avoid this professor at all costs. She may seem cool at first: Cracking jokes and going off tangents to talk about her past but when it comes to you, as a student, she'll give you a big fat, Tough Luck. Whenever there's an issue with Respondus, she would't care. Lectures were also a drag and felt forever to end. Take quiz and dip!
This class requires a lot of effort, you have to truly understand every little detail and study the opposite topics that she lectures about. Just read the book and learn everything to pass. Don't expect to take this class lightly, type detailed notes from the ebook and ace the reports. Be prepared by reading before class and studying a month ahead.
4 exams, 1 cumulative, 1 optional exam (also taken on the day of the final!), 3 reports, & some online hw/quizzes. If you care about your gpa, don't take her. Excruciatingly long lectures. Powerpoints are dense, overwhelming, and useless. The reports and online work will boost your grade so do them. She doesn't care about you. This class ruined me.
Avoid at all costs. The reason why half of the students passed was because of the curve. Not helpful. Pick a different professor for Bio 281.
