She explains everything very clearly, and takes a lot from the book, so it's easy to keep up in class. She goes over tests and papers in class, and if you have any questions after she'll stay and answer them. Awesome class! I definitely recommend it. Just be sure to do your work and hand it in on time.
She is very nice. Her class is not hard at all. Prepare one political question before class and read the book, and you'll be fine. Good luck she is cool. :)
Great teacher, the first day of class she makes you feel welcome. Very understanding, and explains everything clearly. I highly reconmmend her.
She is a very good tecaher. Clear explanations, punctual, and stimulating. Attend classes, read the book, ask questions, and you will be fine.
This class is easy. Come everyday with a written question and you'll be fine. Her tests are ok. Didn't really study for them, but managed to pass. Her lectures are kind of boring unless you're into political science. Take her if you're ok with a B or a C without effort.
She is such a good lecturer. I'm not interested in politics but she makes the material easy to understand and remember. Compared to many other instructors at CCSF, I really think she should be teaching at a university.
She is a great instructor, very clear, and well-educated. I had no idea or interest about politics but now I am and you learn so much in during her lectures. You should definitely take her class. Great Teacher!!!
Very good teacher. The best I have had a city so far. Political Sciences can be a pain but she makes it interesting.
Keenan always starts off class with the last thing she talked about from the previous class.. she base her class a lot on current events.. her midterm and final are both very easy, everything on the exams were from the lecture.. Take Her!!
If you know or care about politics, I advise you skip this teacher and find someone else. Someone with more knowledge and passion of the subject. Easy course. Want an A with little effort? This is your teacher!
EASY? NO, I Do NOT think she is easy. She is tough yet she's being very helpful! This perhaps makes one feel easy.
Keenan is very nice but grades a bit too hard. She's helpful but tests are very difficult. I had to work so hard to get my A-. But she's fair, my efforts paid off.
She spends the entire class time lecturing. She writes outline notes on the board that make it easy to follow her lectures. If you show up, take notes and actually listen to the class, you'll do just fine. Tests are based specifically on her lectures and she even tells you exactly what will be covered.
She knows American Government like the back of her hand. Super nice, but teaches straight out of the book. Like theoretical mechanics of our government.
One of the best teachers at City College! She's very dedicated to teaching and makes sure that everyone understands the materials. It's true that she teaches mostly out of the book, but this is good--in fact, it is extremely helpful because it strengthens my understanding. In fact, she incorporates real life cases in the class! Excellent teacher!!
She is super smart and very interesting. This is an EASY class. However, I often find myself frustrated because she can get a little hostile with students sometimes and is very, very disorganized. Good luck getting any papers or tests back from her!
Interesting class and Ms. Keenan lectures clearly. Her tests are based on lectures and the book. However, getting papers and TESTS back is very frustrating. Our class is still waiting on our test back after 3 1/2 weeks. We have heard many promises and excuses BUT STILL NO TEST. Ms. Keenan is organized in lectures but AWFUL in giving back work!
Ms. Keenan is just a great teacher! No problem with hw & late return of test. Her students' understanding of the American government and political system would be better than other professors'. Other teachers overly focus on specific issues or current evetns; while Ms. Keenan's lectures balance both! She treats everyone, ESL etc w/ respect & equall
I loved this teacher. Her lectures were amazing. She kept my attention the entire time. She's brilliant and she makes the class interesting. Because of her I learned so much.
Ms Keenan is the best teacher I took from at CC so far. She treats everyone equally with respect. She doesn't not practise favoritism. Very fair and helpful to us. Bill of Rights and Checks/Balances, I have a good understanding of them now. You need to attend class regularly, do your homework-easy, prepare for the exam. That is all. Great class!
Great lecturer, but as others have said, very disorganized. Attend her class, do the work, moderately easy A.
Ms Keenan is a good teachers that gives interesting lectures and keeps u updated on current political events. The class is not easy and u have to work for your grade, but if u're hardworking enough, u can do it. The only negative is that it takes her months to grade our papers or tests.
Easy. Show up, listen to the lectures, study the chapters she assigns for tests - get an A. The teaching style is a little too high school/rudimentary for me, but, I'm already fairly knowledgeable on the material. Everything is over-explained, but that's good for anyone looking to learn American politics from the ground up. Highly recommended!
I think she is a good teacher and I got a C in her class, and I have no idea I got a C, maybe I suck.....anyway, discuss a lot in class and read her note and write some professional questions which are due beginning of the class, you will do fine....
Her class is not hard.Attendence is mandatory, cz you need to turn in a question everyday to gain your grades. 3 written assignment overall, longest one is 3 pages. No trick question on test, all in your notes. Provide 10+ Xtra credit(test is 100). Read book only if you don't understand.I only review keyterms in the text book.
Okay, so...I like her. I think it's a really good basic American Government course. Tests are super-easy...I just studied notes and key terms in text and scored over a 100. She is pretty scattered though and is as bad at returning things as other people said, but all in all this class was good and she knows what she's talking about.
After doing what you're told, thinking you can average out the class she teaches. You still end up with a D. I'm not the only student who fell in her booby trap. Not recommended.
The extra credit on all the tests made this class one of the easiest I've ever taken. The questions she made us write and turn in at the beginning of each class were really annoying, though. (25 decent questions by the end of the semester for full credit.)
Dr. Keenan is great. There are no surprises. Read the book. Attend class. Pay attention. Easy A. She's smart (she IS an attorney, after all), has a good sense of humor, and is about the friendliest professor I've ever had. I highly recommend her.
Great Teacher, read the books and come to every section of the class, because that's what in your test.10-15 extra credit points for each test. Fair grader.Highly recommended!Take her.
she is excellent.Ms Keenan discuss the current event and book's topic all the time. She speaks very fast but clearly. For the foreign student,u may hv to read the book hard in order to understand the topic. The test is based on the notes/bk.If u read book/note, u can get high scores n the extra credit is strict forward. She is the best teacher in ccsf
I learned a lot in the class but we had to turn in a question of the day in the beginning of the class which I thought was annoying. And everytime I was REALLY sick, she refused to take my current event even though I called early in the morning to let her know. Overall, the class wasn't bad. 2-3 hw assignments, 3 exams and the current events.
She's is one of my favorite teachers EVER. If you don't understand the reading, it's okay because she goes over it in class. She has easy and clear notes on the board and explains them. Turn in your daily questions/homework, take good notes and you'll get an A! For test, relook at the vocab in book. She likes to put those on exams!
She's a very sweet person, and she's smart too. The class is usually full of idiots so she lessens the workload to suit their needs.
Easy A! She usually adds between 10-15% credit per midterm. I never thought that I would be interested in politics. I like how she starts the class with all these announcements. I wasn't even aware of all these events in campus before I took her class. Overall, great teacher!!
She is kind and willing to help students if they ask for help. Her lectures make the material very easy to understand. The reading in the textbook is very interesting. I gained an interest in PoliSci from this class. She is great at explaining current events in the field. Tests are easy if you study- scan tron and short written answers.
she is a easy teacher. also, it is super easy to get an A in her class. she is a nice teacher. there are also extra credits in exams. also, homework is super easy, and you just need to prepare one question every day. I love her teaching. it is clear. and write down all the terms on the board, and you should be fine
great and nice teacher!! this class is relatively easy to get an A. we have extra credit page on every single exam (2 mids 1 final) and each page worth at least 10 points. that means, u gotta try pretty hard not to pass the course. write a questions everyday and 3 hw assignments total throughout the course. This teacher is highly recommended.
not always so nice, plays favorites
She makes learning about American Government exciting because she uses current events to explain our system. Her lectures are clear, but if you don't understand the book or lecture, she'll spend time with you to help you understand it. She makes errors on exams and had been hostile when students told her that a test question is unclear.
good teacher... gives plenty of examples
if u need to take poli sci 1 get her as your professor super easy i got a 105 out of 100 on the second midterm
she is a good teacher, very easy to understand. She is a little boring but she knows her stuff.
I must say that Ms. Keenan gives the clearest, most succinct explanation of the American political system I've heard. She gives copious notes on the board, and makes her expectations very clear. As long as you pay attention, and turn in the assignments, you should have no trouble getting an A. Grades are 75% test scores, 25% homework.
ihave anyone notice that she's always in class? she hasn't taken a single day off from class throughout the semester.lol. i can never skip her class b/c of that.
She is definitely very knowledgable about p.s., however she has not mastered the art of teaching. She is very clear with her explanations of the american govt. however she is not clear with assignment expectation and test ?s are not clear either.
I was very excited to take this class and left disappointed. It was too easy. I feel that I learned very little from lectures as most of them were an overview of the texts main points. If you actually care about Political Science... Take Schubert.
I don't know what class some of these people took - she was awesome, through, clear and kept me very interested in class and in showing up for class
she might be just one of the best professors in city college. she is Very smart and keen! 2hour class time with ZERO off topics or any distractions. Straight forward teaching style with clear explanations and responsible for students. I really enjoyed taking her class and actually learned quite a bit. highly recommended!
Ms. Keenan is just awesome. I enjoyed her class the most so far! It's been very interesting and she ow teach and keep students on it. I like her personally and professionally. Easy A if you listen to her, which isn't hard!
LATE LATE LATE. AGAIN. What if I waltzed in half an hour late day after day? Why is this OK for teachers only?
I have to give her the benefit of the doubt, because she had the student from hell sitting right in front of class. Typical rude, arrogant 18 yr old know it all, constantly interrupting her. she didn't discipline him very well, & when her own phone started ringing, I lost all hope. she showed up sick, almost threw up in class. still, easy class
Not a great class, not a bad class. Just a class. Your grade is based on 25 political questions and 3 exams, one after every four chapters. If you fail, it's because you're not trying.
Took the same class as the reviewer that had the student from hell. Couldn't stand the kid since he was so full of himself and ran his mouth nonstop. The class wasn't anything too special. Not hard and not easy, just do well on tests and submit questions everyday.
her exams are straight foward
She makes everything so simple. 2 midterms and a final, all based on notes she gives in class.
I got a F on my midterm, but I got a B on my final. Her exams are straightforward from the notes and lecture. And also just submit your question!
This professor is very knowledgeable. She gives students much needed breaks like DO political questions, but be through when answering the Written PArt.I earned a B in the class, but I read the whole book too or annotated it and asked questions in class.Don't take her too early during the day.Great Style and enthusiastic lectures.Stay Awake and LEARN!
you need to study very hard to get an A. I got an A because i had knowledge about current issuess and the history of the U.S. of course, her exams are based on textbook and lectures. Read the textbook for the multiple-choise. Ture or false are arduous
Can we talk about how she made us write down a "political question" every day for 25% of your "written grade" but she never answers any of the questions? I suffered through her class, and got an A. Her lectures are average, her tests are hard, or easy if you actually read the textbook. She's cluttered, didn't give back 2nd exam till the LAST DAY!
Monotonous = Boring lectures and no exciting class discussions. She's disorganized and is not punctual. Two midterms and a final. Exams are straightforward being that it is 95% based off her notes except she's a picky grader every now and then. If you like boring classes, go for it. Just get the notes and turn in your questions.
Kimberly is very clear and concise with her lectures. She often over-emphasizes her lecture material, which is not bad, but sometimes ad nauseum (ok, we get it already?!). Her lectures are dry, she most likely will not remember your name due to overly large class sizes. 99% is pure lecture, 0.1% is group activity. Takes role everyday.
Her lectures are interesting. She simplifies the subject as much as possible, so any one can understand it without prior knowledge of U.S. government. Her tests are from the lectures and 1 or 2 questions from the book. She gives extra credit. She made mistakes when grading exams, so always double check what she marks wrong.
I like that she uses real court cases to help us learn about our government and how laws are passed. She goes over the textbook. She simplifies the material as she knows that everyone is not familiar with our government system and laws. I highly recommend her. She's irritatable if she is annoyed with unexpected office visits, so call in advance
personally I think she is on o THE BEST teachers at city. reason being? she explain everything with detail AND gives legit examples. She talks about relevant topics in class. The fact that she doesn't base the txtbook as much in her class lectures is a PLUS for me!
She is very helpful lectures are crystal clear. If you take good notes in class and read the chapter you will be fine. 25% of your grade is a political science question you turn in every class. That can really help bring up your grade by a whole letter.Highly recommend you will learn alot and because she makes it interesting you will likely do well
Awesome class. Ms. Keenan is passionate about politics and goes over each chapte extremely well. There isn't any homework, and the in-class notes more than help out for test prep, but reading the book is advised. All in all, great class.
PROS: 1) Interesting lectures [NOTE: Her class was so interesting that I chose to become a paralegal.] 2) lectures on current U.S. history 3) She tries to make time for students outside of her office. 4) She simplifies her lectures. CONS: 1) She sometimes gets irritated when she is asked to clarify things. 2)she can be vague.
she is not helpful she is just careless! how many days she forgot to return our exam on time? she also doesn't care she like to trick students. she never try to help and simplify things. the worst professor ever!
Great teacher who thoroughly goes over the reading material.Explains very clearly any questions you have related to politics. The political questions were a pain but definitely boosts up your grade so make sure to do it! Tests were tricky at times so make sure to go over notes! Talked about current events and real life cases which is awesome!
She's hard on grading. Other than that, she's a good teacher.
She is a good teacher, but her tests are very hard. You have to give lots of explanations and examples.
Her lectures were very interesting and I learned a lot of things though her tests were difficult.
I think she is good at teacher. She writes on the board, and you just copy the notes. When the tests come, just study the notes and learn the vocab in the textbook. There is homework every class meeting, but it's easy: just think of questions to ask her.
She is a wonderful teacher and if you pay attention and take notes on her lectures the class is fairly straightforward. I enjoyed her class and she truly spoiled our class with her wealth of information on the various subjects.
No homework and your grade is based on your tests. Her tests are not hard but not easy. So study whatever she writes on the board and lectures because that's everything on the test! She can be a bit boring at times but ask questions during her office hours.
Her tests cover an enormous amount of material in 45 minutes. Two of the chapters she did not teach, but are on the test. If one of her classes is ahead of another, instead of continuing the curriculum. she will review. More often than not because of this one of the classes falls behind. HENCE YOU HAVE 2 CHAPTERS ON THE TEST DEVOID OF GUIDANCE.
Its just the basic american government class, easy homework, easy grading, relaxed. Take notes and study them you will do great.
I think it was her first time teaching the online class, so perhaps it will get better. Semester has ended & still haven't received feedbackgrades for 13 of the weekly assignments - I think I got an A? Every possible excuse as to why the grades weren't done. Also, assignments were not consistent - contradictions abounded.
The teacher is a little bit slow in grading, but she generously grades to pull the total grades up if necessary to get A.
Possibly the easiest A ever, but you have to go to class because of how she sets it up. She takes forever to do everything, but the material is easy and the workload is light -- having to turn in political questions (i.e., to show up) was the only thing that made it work for me. Two days or less to prepare for each of the two midterms and final.
She is a good and nice teacher. She give extra credit in her test. The only problem is Don't! Take! Her early moring class. She always, always came in late. She was late on our midterm, and she only gave us 35 minutes to finished the test. Take her 9:00 Am class if you can. You have to study by yourself, because she teach slowly.
I screwed my first exam, then I tried really hard for the second midterm and I can get a full score. She offers extra-credits. She teaches everything that you need for the examination. What you need to do is to jot good notes, and you will be fine.
Professor Keenan really knows what she is talking about when it comes to politics. The class is easy as long as you takes notes and simply review the book before the tests. She wants you to learn. Usually late to class, moves kinda slow w/ material, but the best thing about her is she is not bias in her view whatsoever which made me appreciative
She isn't very helpful with her students. Ive taken the course with several friends and she's not very responsive. She doesn't grade papers on time, and is not fair with the grading essay papers. Just don't take her. One of the worst teachers i've ever had.
She has not graded any of my assignments. Sure there is SOMETHING there only because it is graded automatically by the system. The other part that needs to be graded manually by her is blank. Hope my grade doesn't get messed up because of this. She takes a while to respond to students, too. Total procrastination on her part.
Please do not take her. She is very irresponsible and do not manage her time well. She never respond to emails, never explains the lectures thoroughly and she is very incompetent. She's kind of a B too, so here's a review for your attitude.
She's extremely knowledge and experienced in her field. She makes political science very clear and easy to understand. Classes are 99% lectures but she uses many examples and is always willing to go back and clarify. Attendance isnt mandatory but you probably won't pass if you skip class. Some of her homework is due right at the start so be on time
Professor Keenan's teaching method is really easy and clear. She has a lot of knowledge and she tells political stories in the history or brings specific examples which make the subject very clear. Her exams sound hard, but are not usually out of what she talked about. I still have the political knowledge that she taught us and I enjoy it.
One of the worst teachers I have ever had, class never starts on time. She's not helpful with her students. Care more about the faculty, than her students. Could care less if you pass the class. Lastly, when you hear the word essentially run as fast as you can.
Takes time grading the tests. Had two midterms and a final. Make sure to study definitions and charts in the book. I didn't really read it - only studied these things. She is nice, very straightforward, makes sure you have her lectures in your notes. You'll have to study both, the book and the notes for the tests as well as the current events. G.L.
Do not take this class if you want an A. Her lectures are good but Her circulum set up and feedback is terrible! no homework, so ur grade is based on 3 tests. Shes often late. Do not be fooled by easy test questions! She wants full length essays with detail. She deducts points easily. Anyone who got an A in this class has photographic memory.
I don't like her at all! I would not recommend taking her at all! She does not even like you as a student. She degrades you
Mrs Keenan is not just a professor she was a great person. I m an international student , I took her class in 2016. I am not good at memorizing stuffs but the way this professor teach is very interesting and let you get all the material in class. To review for tests you just have to pass over the notes taken in class and you will get your A. THANKS
So many lectures.
I do not recommend her at all. Let me save you your time and money, and GPA.
If you want someone that's engaging, she isn't the one; literally might fall asleep a few times just because she falls asleep.
Ms. Keenan is an amazing professor who is passionate about teaching. She has an easy to understand teaching style, and is concise. No pop quizzes, no busy work. Reading the text outside of class is important, so you will have to do more than just show up. But you are sure to learn a lot. Highly recommended.
She seemed to have a clear outline for the class and reasonable grading criteria except she didn't grade any of the assignments until the semester was finished and then gave me a "B" on everything without any feedback. Had I known what to do differently at the beginning of the semester, I could have made corrections. Really disappointed in her.
Attendance is important as she goes over what will be on the test and teaches you on all the chapters. She has notes for her lectures. You must read the chapters, notes, and current events. She grades on two midterms, the final, and several writing assignments.
Professor Kimberly Keenan is very knowledgeable and makes it easy for you to follow along. However, 25% of your grade is midterm #1, 25% midterm #2, 25% your final, and the last 25% is daily questions. If you take good notes on her lectures and study I am sure you will do great! She made me love political science
She gives so many assignments -weekly reading, weekly discussions due halfway through the week for full credit (not the full week if this matters for your time management) with two replies, 1-2 articles with 1-2 page response, videos, plus quiz, and assignment. Never grades ANYTHING. I have no idea if I need to improve on what I'm doing or not.
She gave heavy lectures and you need to learn everything to pass the class!
There are other options out there. Keep looking.
I regret to take her class! Im banging my head against the wall! when u see regret in a students eyes it is absolutely painful! only her class is failing me!
I took this class online and the workload isn't bad, the average week is one discussion, 2 replies, article response, and quiz. However, I think this professor is UNORGANIZED, we were into week 8-10 when she just started grading assignments from the beginning of the semester! It's finals week now and I have no idea what my final grade will be.
Workload throughout the semester is decent, but our final exam is ridiculous!! We have 5 essays due on a one week notice (not exaggerating). This was not mentioned at all previously, now I'm stressing out for my other classes! She also isn't very clear on grading, there is no rubric & doesn't explain what she's taking points off assignments for.
Material she goes over in class is usually never on her tests, and the material is rushed. Does not care about you or your grade and does not give any opportunities to help your grade. Will never take another class of hers again.
Online Class: Does not grade on time (finally got some grades back HALFWAY through the sem) nor does she give feedback for what's wrong. Does not engage with students AT ALL! We don't hear from her for weeks. Will assign a HEAVY workload without warning or an announcement, I'm talking MULTIPLE PAPERS! I've never had a worse professor. Disappointed.
Instructions were so unclear that a couple of times I've got quiz-questions from chapters that weren't assigned. Your assignments are graded only twice during the semester. You get zero feedback and have no chance to know why you received partial credit. Be ready to wait for days to get your emails answered. Homework always the same type nd boring
Don't make my mistake! Well, this is the final week of the semester. My last graded assignment is dated 2 months ago from now. But here comes a last-week-surprise: 3 chapters to read (25 pages each), 2 quizzes, outside research, 6 forum posts, and 3 article responses. This is something you don't expect from a 3-unit class.
Im so glad that this class is almost over! DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS or you regret it! She grade all the school works so late that you cannot track of your grade, she dont provide feedback, she assigned so many reading and response articles, shes very unorganized AT ALL TIMES! Lastly, she doesnt give a perfect score even you give out your best!
Don't expect to get ANY sort of feedback on ANY of your assignments. I have assignments from 2 months ago that haven't been graded yet so no updated grade in Canvas. If you email her, don't expect to hear back for a week (despite what syllabus says). The work is uninspired (LOTS of discussions & response papers). ONE late assignment accepted.
Very difficult grader no feedback to simple questions assigned way too much homework during virtual learning for first level political science class
she assigns a bunch of homework and papers on a weekly basis. expect to do a discussion, a quiz, followed up by a three page paper that she grades as if it is an English assignment, The Final was two separate 3 page papers and a multiple choice. so much work to do for a 3 credit class to the introduction of political science.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT TAKE HER EVEN IF IT'S THE ONLY CLASS AVAILABLE!!!!!!!! YOU'RE SELF TEACHING YOURSELF AN ENTIRE LAW CLASS WITH NO HELP FROM HER AT ALL. TO MAKE THINGS WORSE, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW YOUR GRADE UNTIL THE END OF THE SEMESTER. PER WEEK WE HAD 2-5 PAPERS + 2/3 DISCUSSION POSTS YOU HAVE BETTER OPTIONS, KEEP LOOKING!!!!!
The hypocrisy! Expects you to respect the deadlines, doesn't post a single grade 3 months into the semester, takes down points for minor grammatical errors, posts lessons with a ton of typos and mistakes. Speaking of teaching by example. I would give her a negative rating.
her class was a 3 unit class and she gave me more reading, and more work than my English 1B class! honestly, I hope she reads this and slows down a little. I struggle a lot with her class and it was supposed to be "an easy" class for being just 3 unit.
Do not take Professor Keenans class. She is NEVER available. She does not get back to emails for at least a week. Makes excuses every week for not being available in the announcements. Doesnt grade anything till the end of the semester. Gives ZERO feedback. Has a question on a quiz, begging students to give her motivation to run for office.
she didn't put up any grades until the semester was almost over. that means students were dropping from As to Ds in an instant with not enough time to try to salvage their grade and no feedback to try to prevent it from dipping that low. if you take her classes, spam her with emails about grades. she needs to slow down the workload for her sake
There was lots of reading and many papers to write. Usually one paper per week. But then came the finals... this pushed me over the edge and I wanted to give up. While other finals I had were a simple multiple choice tests. Her's was that, PLUS 3 essays. Each requiring double the content of the previous weekly paper's. It felt like malice...
Picks on students because of their political views. Forces students to share political views. Puts students in unsafe positions and laughs about it. Way too much work for a 3 unit class. Gives horrible grades without explanation. Doesnt grade ANYTHING until last week of class. Wont respond to emails unless you cc her chair. AWFUL!
weekly discussions and papers that were relatively straight forward. she actually explains topics very well, and helped me gain a better understanding of the american government. also offers xc essays. occasional quiz but very easy. clear expectations and rubric. would take again if needed. show up to zoom and put effort into work good time.
She makes everything difficult for no reason. Does not give chances to submit any late assignments even if you explain or prove a family problem to her, she won't care. I do not recommend taking her class! She should be a little supportive when it comes to cheer up students going through difficult times, specially with this pandemic going on.
I regret not looking on here before taking her class. She is one of the teachers at CCSF that you should avoid. She never grades anything even if her syllabus mention will grade with 7-10 days. Her quizzes which is through canvas MC always needs her grading so good luck waiting on that
Do not waste your time!!! I read the reviews and still took the class because I needed it. Don't do it to yourself. I took her late start class and It really is just so much work for no reason. Looking at 3 discussion boards with an initial post and 2 responses to two people in the class each, one to two page paper and a quiz all due in one week.
DO. NOT. TAKE. HER. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. AMERICAN GOVERNMENT ISNT FUN TO BEGIN WITH BUT SHE MAKES IT WORSE. NO GRADES TILL THE END OF THE SEMESTER, NO FEEDBACK ON ANY OF YOUR DISCUSSIONS. SHE IS NON-EXISTENT. WAY TOO MUCH WORK FOR A 3 UNIT CLASS EVEN IF IT WAS A LATE START. SAVE YOUR MENTAL HEALTH. 10POINT QUIZZES MUTED THE WHOLE SEMESTER!
Where do I start? It's the multiple papers, It's the lack of correct grammar in her own writing when she expects you to have perfect grammar, It's the lack of any involvement with class, It's the not grading assignments until half of the semester is over for me. Even If you like government and politics, you'll hate it after taking her class.
Very good teacher. I had hard assignments at times but Professor Keenan was very fair and gave me feedback to let me know what I did wrong.
For a 3-credit class, there is a ridiculous amount of homework required to be done. Every module includes a quiz, a discussion which requires 3 posts total to possibly get full credit, and 1-2 response papers. Professor Keenan also does not grade assignments until last minute which gives does not allow students any academic feedback.
AVOID IF YOU CAN! The teacher doesn't grade 75% of the assignments until the end of the semester so you never really know your grade in the class. Also, the amount of work associated with this class is a lot for a 3 unit class.
Oh man if I knew what I know now I probably would opt for another teacher. Dont expect to get grades for weeks like 5 or 6 weeks. I told her I was worried of failing but because she had only graded a few items I had an A and she just told me not to worry because some people had D's so I didn't get any help. outside of teaching she is nice though.
I learnd a lot from Professor Keenans class. However, I feel she could have made video lectures instead of just posting written lectures, especially considering the heavy load of reading and essays each week. Nevertheless, I enjoyed her class, learned a lot and am forever grateful.
Professor Keenan runs a challenging but rewarding class. Lots of weekly assignments, but she explains topics well. I found unstuck ai and ChatGPT helpful for prepping. Attend class, do the work, and you'll gain a solid understanding of American government.
She gives out a ton of work and hasn't graded over half of the semester's assignments so I don't know what my grade will be. The final is one multiple choice test, one 4-5 paragraph response, and one 2-3 page essay. I don't recommend her. She gives out way too much work and doesn't grade. It's unfair to students.
This professor is horrible. She didn't finish grades until like 3 weeks after the semester was over. Midterm grades weren't even done being graded when they were due. She wasn't very interactive with the online class and left terrible feedback on the many papers she assigned. I don't recommend her at all.
I was nervous to take POLS 43 with Professor Keenan based on reviews. Yes, she assigns work—two discussions and a paper weekly—but that's school. She hasn't graded anything halfway through, so I gave her a 4/5. After visiting her during office hours, I found her to be very understanding. Y'all need to quit being crybabies…it's school!
