she expects a lot from you but will help you if actually care enough to learn. this is the second class i took with this instructor & knowing i'm going to get my moneys worth of out of it is why.

I'm a dual enrollment student so I was bent I had to shell out money for the lab manual that is required. Overall we had fun, the more questions we asked the more interesting the applications were & the easier it was to remember! Loads of work though

Ms. Lewis is great, she has stories to help you remember things. Okay her jokes are geeky...some are funny. I loved this class & the material others hated micro. It was easier for me because I am actually interested, not trying to memorize things & going cross eyed. And the more interested we are the more cool stories she told.

Prof Lewis is good, the class is hard & takes TIME. I really really worked for this class & had to find out how I learn- she will help you figure this out & she has funny stories that help you remember read the hmwk & ask questions!!!!

Ms. Lewis gives lots of credit for those that are not doing good on the class. Not an easy class, but she definetely helps the students. Perhaps, there were students who didn't take the opportunity of doing the credits.

Class was kinda interesting, she can seem angry when she is teaching but shes not most of the time. Plus its alot easier to pay attention when the teacher is easy on the eyes lol. Id take her again

she has great stories to help you get things & remember i thought bio was a cake walk but not in college! she was far better than the ucf prof i had the first time. lots of students wined about the work, but i did the work & got the grade i earned! ask questions she seems unfriendly at first but the more you ask the better you are for the test!

idk y others think shes unfriendly, shes awesome. makes it fun for those of us who came to class. bio was hard. suck it up & do the hmwk pakets.

Prof Lewis is one of the best professors i've had at Valencia. She is straight up the first class letting you know what is expected & if you do the work AND know the material, you'll prepared for the rest of the sciences you need for nursing. Ask questions when you don't get the material, she will explain it & gives examples!

She was a very good teacher. MCB is an extremely hard course and she knows that and tries to help you in any way possible. She makes her expectations clear from day one and if you do not want to follow them, then you should drop. I have never worked this hard for an A. Lots of HW but do it, it helps. Actually do the work and try and it will pay off

Professor Lewis is an excellent teacher. I took her Fundamentals of Bio class this summer and got a B+. Don't take this class if you are lazy, there is a lot of work. However, if you stay focused and on top of all your assignments and study HARD, you should have no problem passing. I definitely recommend taking her class, she's awesome!

Professor Lewis is a great teacher, she's funny & sweet. The course itself is very hard, only the strong survive it. But if you want to, you will! And Professor Lewis will help you to get there. But in no way is this class an easy A. Come to class, do the work, and communicate with her and you'll get the grade you deserve.

This prof actually asks quiz questions from material in the book so you HAVE to buy or rent it to pass! It is not an easy A, so look elsewhere if you are lazy. If you want to learn then this is the prof that will help you learn, plus the subject is SEX! who doesnt want to learn about that?!

Great teacher, you must attend class, pay attention, take notes!!!! Tests from the notes & class. If she writes it in the board it's fair game for the test. Lab quizzes are 8-12 ?s use REVIEW!!! If you want to learn, this is the prof for you. You don't study, you won't pass!! Teacher will help you if you ask & want to succeed. Group study & tutor!!

BRUTAL! Work breakdown for an 8 week online class: 300 Pages of book reading, 608 PowerPoint Slides, 8 Quizzes, 1 Mid-Term, 1 Final, 2 Weekly Postings, 4 Weekly responses to other postings. All tests/quizzes must be done on a locked down web browser. You'll need another computer or tablet for electronic notes. Tough grader as well. Never again.

2nd time i took micro, 1st w this prof. She's fiery & EXPECTS A LOT! If YOU WORK & study & ASK questions she'll help you understand, BUT if you are lazy forget it! Her jokes are geeky & she runs the class & lab tight, if u r a slackr stay away!! if u want to learn this is the prof for you. But b ready for hard tests & lots of hw. Quizzs EVERY LAB!

Excellent prof! She goes fast, then slow to explains everything & gives examples. Tests are def worded weird but IF you STUDY you will do fine. Quizzes r a easy if u use the REV. lab practical was hard but JUST STUDY. She is more than willing to help you out with anything. She will sit with you and help you learn. I would def. recommend Ms. Lewis!

Prof Lewis's micro it is tough but its my last pre-req & she makes time to help, unlike other prof. She is one of the best I've had at Valencia- ever & i'm about to graduate!! Do your part & she will do hers, don't think its easy, if you want to learn this is prof for you, if you are lazy find another prof. She helps prep for T's test MCAT PCAT!!!

Prof Lewis is hardcore & awesome all in 1. The examples r great, read clinical studies, READ AHEAD & ask ??s expecially about LABS!! Lab quizzes are hard-ask ???s. She answers email ??s & stayed after lab & office time to help us! Bring your best bc u'll need it! Prof Lewis even came in when my sched didn't make her hours! Who else does that?!

Not an easy class. It requires lots of time and lots of studying!! Quizzes every lab, 4 lecture test ( she drops your lowest)2 midterms,2 Finals. She grades on a point system. Gives extra credit. Attendance counts, and if you miss more than two classes or are late twice she will take a point off your total grade avg. Helpful when needed.

Idk y she's "rude" but she was uber respectful & u r making up losing points for talkin bc that wasnt in th grade scale! i took prof lewis for human sexuality-NOT a humanities course btw its bio! Ms Lewis is beyond patient! she answers all questions no matter how simple. The course is HARD don't blame failing on prof, u have to READ & DO WORK. what kind of nurse doesnt?! u want a good grade then do the work! class book lab book & MM are a must to pass. YES u have to know how to spell, i made flashcards to earned all the points!

If you can't pass with Ms. Lewis then you should change your major. I ask questions continuously & she will explain things with examples AND multiple times. The real life examples are a huge help!

I took Prof Lewis for biology of human sexuality AND bio 1. Great classes! I look forward to taking her again for Microbiology after A&P!! Listen & read, ask questions when the book doesnt' make sense!

Prof. Lewis is an awesome teacher with sarcastic humor! She's strict, but fair and balanced. She doesn't use the book itself, but she gives you PowerPoint slides and uses "Mastering Microbiology" extensively. DO THE ONLINE HOMEWORK! Her tests are more clinical related, and the material from the online homework will get you your good test grades!

I love Prof Lewis. Easy to talk to and you can ask her ANYTHING. The class taught me a lot. I took a hybrid which consisted of online discussions and quizzes, a in-class midterm and final, and two small papers. She offers a decent amount of extra credit. Prof Lewis seems ferocious the 1st day, but she truly cares about our learning. The book is important & so is going to class, but MORE important is asking questions and making time for microbio. The class is NOT easy but she will help IF you listen to her and actually STUDY! It is college science, with her at least is it FUN!

Yes Prof Lewis is strict but its bc of lab! She's also LOADS of fun & super patient w questions! She won't make you feel stupid = ask questions! The dynamic study tool on MASTERING is HUGE help! BONUS: go get help= she has great office hours. she IS friendly, just loud. i found doing homework its worth so many points AND helps for the tests!

Prof. Lewis is awesome! Seems tough at first but once she gets to know you she has such a great sarcastic sense of humor and will help you and is always there during office hours. She goes off powerpoints for the whole class time and does go very fast so you must do your online hw first to follow! 4 tests with 6 chpts each.hw is untimed & a must!

She does NOT go too fast if you've looked @ your book & homework she actually goes slow w all the examples she gives. If you dont take her you're "2 stoopid 4 calledge", if you think micro is easy THINK again. I'd take her over ANY other prof & I took 1 who NEVER helped. Mrs. Lewis is really sarcastic, very detailed in her explanations, and definitely a great resource for additional questions. There are 5 in-class tests, all of which she reviews for beforehand. The lab practicals are somewhat difficult, but so long as you keep good lab notes you will be fine. The best teacher I have had so far in college.

OMG do the Mastering ESPECIALLY the dynamic study modules before the online homeworks, quizes & the TESTS!! Prof Lewis is sarcastic but funny & LOVES microbiology!

Professor Lewis is AWESOME!! She is very understanding, energetic, and knowledgeable. She makes science fun and interesting. I would recommend anyone to take her class. She is an amazing professor! There are 4 lecture tests, two lab practical's, lab quizzes(which are easy) and online hw/quizzes. If you try in this class you will and can earn at least a B. Take her!

She is super helpful and will do whatever it takes to get the grade you deserve in the class. Labs are tedious and require a lot of work but she will clarify and walk you through anything that you need. DO THE HOMEWORK AND MASTERINGMICRO QUIZZES. They are very helpful on the exams! Even if you're a bad test taker you can still get at least a C.

She is super awesome and makes learning microbiology easy. Do all homework and quizzed online. Use study guide for lab quizzes. Ask questions if you don't understand. She has really impacted my understanding of micro. Absolutely take her.!!!!!

I love this lady! She is sarcastic and funny. She makes a somewhat boring subject interesting! You wont fall asleep in class with her. The class is hard but it is your own fault if you get anything less than an A as she will do her best to help you if you are having trouble. I would recommend her class to ANYONE. TAKE HER!!! <3

If you are a working adult,please do not take this Hybrid course.Her Hybrid class is like an online course.She will tell you that you need 6-9 hours per day to pass her class, not counting three hours of in-class time.Her class is for kids and not for working adults.Plus long online discussion and long online quizzes.YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

A week before the class was over I was freaking out bc I was scared I was not going to pass; this class will def do this to u. U just have to push through& Prof Lewis helped me do so w just reminding me that I am very capable! I got a B & I def worked for it! It's a hard class & Prof. will help u but YOU HAVE TO WORK. It's worth it in the end.

In class can be boring, and she can get off topic. That aside she leaves lots of time to talk about questions. I would consider this hybrid like taking a class online and then just having a study group meeting once a week.

Professor Lewis is terrific shes remembers what it was like to be a student. I took her for summer B & didn't feel overwhelmed with the work on top of my full time job. Her syllabus scared me at first as her ratings on this website but they were wrong she gives you what you give her JUST TRY! Her lectures are interesting and funny. Take her !

I've had a rough time with this class, but it's not due to the Professor Vogel. She takes feedback well, gives out a week by week schedule, and is willing to discuss items that seem unclear. I think she's been very generous with her points. Tests are hard but the material itself is hard.

I am learning so much with this class/prof.! The class is not an easy A, but, if you are looking to learn to become a quality professional, then this is the prof. for you. The material is difficult, but Prof. L-V breaks it into digestible portions. Ask questions, she is glad to clarify. She's understanding and funny, but expects effort.

She gives pretty clear instructions on what she expects. There is a lot of work to be done so be prepared to study. You cannot afford to miss a class! This is not an easy class but she makes it bearable. She incorporates her humor into the teaching which helps with the learning. She's willing to help her students pass but you must put in the work!!

I cannot believe the people on here saying that she is a bad professor. She could not be more clear on what she expects from us. She reviews all exams every time we take one, and she will personally meet you if you are struggling. You just need to meet her halfway. She was great and I recommend her to anyone who is willing to put in the work.

Professor Lewis-Vogel is one of the best professors I've had by far! She cares for you and your grade and takes time out of her day to go over questions with you!

She is really interesting, especially at the lectures. Class was not boring, but because it was a hybrid course there was tons of reading to do. We had discussions on each chapter and quizzes. I was scare on taking this course, but this teacher made me feel good about myself.

She's a professor of adults and expects you to be one in her class. She's fun but gets it done. Professor gives VERY CLEAR expectation in the syllabus and holds you to it. Tests/Discussions are FROM THE BOOK(s). If you do the discussion/read the chapters/pay attention in class - you'll do just fine. I've taken her 2+ times now. I'd do it again too.

Professor Lewis is a GREAT PROFESSOR. At first when you see the syllabus you would think its a lot of work but its not. You do need your text book. Lectures are hilarious and Professor Lewis treats everyone with respect. Communication is key.. If you have any issues let her know and she will help as best as she can. I would take her class again.

Professor Vogel was a dream of a professor. Always responsive and if you put in the work, you will get a good grade. Jokes a ton and has a blast in class. I had her for a Hybrid Course which I found was wonderful. A good mix of online and in-class work.

Prof Lewis is amazing! I had a car accident and missed almost two weeks of online work- as soon as I got her the documentation she reopened the work for me! That being said she opens work early so you can do it early- thats great for those of us with crazy work schedules. I am already enrolled in her other online class for spring!

Professor Vogel really cares for her students. Micro is a difficult class to say the least but professor Vogel broke down the material well so we could all understand and learn effectively. I worked full time and took this class and let me tell you prepare to put in some serious studying in but in the end it was totally worth it and I recc Prof V.

Science has never been a strong subject for me and Biology was the worse of them all for me. I was skeptical about this course but I can truly say Overall, I really enjoyed this class and would recommend it to another student or anyone that doesn't really enjoy/ doesn't understand biology very well.

1 of the things I enjoyed most were discussions bc I saw how even though we took the same class we had different points of view. This class was my first online class, I really enjoyed it. At the beginning I was afraid to miss deadlines the syllabus was really clear the important deadlines were easy to understand. I want to take her for BSC 1026!

Taken her hybrid & online there's work but I learned more in her science classes than I ever thought I would. She cares just read the syllabus & do the work. She splits the work so homework is before discussions that helps a lot. Reading the book BEFORE doing online hw saved soooo much time. Wish I could take her for all my science classes!

her expectations up front are clear, if you want an easy online class A you can do it if you read, do the online homework, quizzes & tests. Her feedback is honest & helpful I've never had an online prof give individual feedback as detailed as her, and it helped!

If you want to earn an easy A go to high school. If you want to learn science online then take this prof! She opens things ahead of time BUT you still have to use the calendar for the due dates. I just put them in my phone a day ahead if i was busy. I am NOT a science major but deadlines were clear and she will clear things up if you are confused!

I took this call at Seminole, not at Valencia but there was no option for Seminole. She is such a great teacher, I took her as a night class and she always kept me awake with her hilarious ways of teaching. She is super straight forward with what she expects of you so just show up to class and listen to her talk, and do the homework!

This woman is an awesome teacher. I thought it impossible to sit through a nearly three hour lecture without being bored, but she engages us. Life happens and she knows this, she will allow you to make up tests and quizzes if you are determined. Lab is fun and she provides plenty of extra credit so there is no excuse not to pass this class.

Mrs. Lewis-Vogel is patient and kind. She posts a calendar online at the start of classes. I have had her for 3 classes now. If you don't like her it's bc you don't know how to read a schedule maybe or maybe you belong at a private college or maybe NOT in college. I'm going to be Nurse because I DO my work and work hard. Get it together people.

Day 1 PRINT THE SCHEDULE! I put all the dates in my calendar and blew through the work. She will open stuff up after the first few weeks so just wait or ask. Watch your spelling because it does count. Still got my A! Check under grades 24 hours after DUE date for feedback the 1st week. If you can read a schedule &amp; book this is an easy A!

Yeah so she cares about teaching and spelling. But it is a college level class. read the schedule do your work &amp; get the grade you want. I should have done more to get an A I took it with a friend who did get an A because she used spell check and turned stuff in better than i did. I'm taking this prof again for a diff class and I WILL get an A!

she's very organized &amp; clear for what needs to be done to pass. i'm not a science major but the online discussions pulled me it. it was pretty lit. yeah you gotta work but it's online so do it from home. i put reminders in my phone like she said. she gives a weekly schedule so you can set up reminders. if u get confused just asked she will answer!

Professor Vogel is funny and is willing to help you (as long as you put in the actual effort). I wouldn't take this class if you're just trying to slide by.

Best prof I've had so far at Valencia! Amazing &amp; helpful! Just try not to use female Pronouns, she'll forgive you but she's non-binary. Call her prof, boss, or by last name. If you forget remain calm she'll help you remember &amp; laugh at herself. Amazing prof.

I had a technical issue in the beginning of the semester, Professor Lewis-Vogel was so patient and helpful the problem got fixed in no time. She really wants everyone to pass, she grades pretty quickly and gives great feedback. The discussions a long but as long as you look at her videos, ppts, and the textbook there should be no worries.
