I hate history, but I loved professor mcclurg's class. She makes class fun while you learn which also helps you to remember it later on. 2 papers a project, and some in class activities. Never a dull moment and I looked forward to coming. She's the best professor I have had at vista. You have to take her but be quick cuz her classes fill up.

Professor McClurg is very specific with how she wants work to be completed. Therefore if you do the work you will get the grade you want. I liked that there were no surprises with her assignments and everything was posted on canvas and she was quick to answer questions. I highly recommend Professor McClurg.

Professor McClurg changed my view about history courses. I came in to her class not liking history. When I met her she was not only an amazing person, but was enthusiastic about being my professor. Was very helpful and available whenever needed. Tip: just stay on top of the assignments!

Weekly discussions and several analysis throughout the semester, I work full time and these assignment were manageable. Take her, she's great. Taking her again for HIST 1301 and 1302.

All of the assignments are in the modules. In class group work. Movies to introduce the subject. Three major essays, no biggie though she's very helpful. Mid term and final but it's only a self assessment, easy "A"just be honest. One project due at the end of the semester and it's not difficult at all. Extra credit like crazy!!!

Took Mrs. McClurg for Texas History online. I have taken many courses online, but this by far didn't feel like I was online. She is very present in the course and responds quickly to emails & was there to answer questions. Directions were easy to follow and she has a crazy sense of humor, which is funny, because its online. I highly recommend her.

Took Professor McClurg for Maymester and loved her. The class was online but I felt like we were in a classroom. Always available when I had a question and the activities were never boring. She gave clear instructions and was willing to help if you need clarification. She is amazing! I am definitely taking her again in the fall.

The class is not easy or hard, there's a good balance with difficulty. She provides a lot of extra credit so take advantage of it! She also lets students redo assignments, you just need to communicate with her. If you stay up to date and participate in discussions you will succeed! I highly recommend taking her class.

This is the second class that I have taken with Professor McClurg and there is nothing negative to say about her. She is such an awesome teacher both in the class and online. Really intresting class, I was soo dreading taking Texas History but this prof makes it fun, you have to really go out of your way not to pass her class.

Took class over the summer, was pretty fast paced. The assignments range from easy A small projects grades to 4 page papers. She was an easy grader if you follow the guidelines. And be prepared to leave plenty of time for the papers due. That was the only thing holding me back from a higher grade this summer. Other than that she is super nice.

Professor McClurg is an awesome professor. Even though it was an online course she took the time to get to know each student, assured us that we could ask for help on anything, and sent us daily announcements reminding us to smile at strangers. What a positive way to start your day. I look forward to taking her again at UTSA when I transfer.

I have never taken an online course before. Professor McClurg made me feel as though I was in a regular classroom setting. Always engaged with the class, quick response to questions I had, and was cheerful and fun in her morning announcements. Assignments were interactive and learning history was never dull. I will definitely take her again.

I took professor McClurg for History 2301 online course. I would definitely take her again. She is very clear on what she is looking for on a assignment and give a you feed back. She also always response to your emails right away which most teachers don't. I would recommend for anyone to take her. She is great!

What I like the most about this course was how helpful and kind she was. Anytime I needed help she was more than willing to guide me in the right direction, I could tell she cared. It wasn't like you she was just answering another dumb question/email from a student. Not a lot of professors do that.

Took summer school with her and it was very managable; only a few long papers and the rest was very fun material. Only used the book a few times for said papers. Plenty of extra credit opportunities given so there's no way to fail her class. She gives feedback on all assignments, which I thought was nice.

Awesome teacher. Passed the class with a 99, there is some papers you have to write but this is a WI class so it is expected. You do need to book for somethings. Professor is very accessible and replies right away, she gives extra credit so you'd have to try in order to fail this class. Would recommend taking it in a flex class.

Fun and down to Earth Prof. Has unique assignments in class that are easy 100's. No tests, only reading passages from the book and analyzing the text for themes ect. TONS OF EXTRA CREDIT! If you can't pass this class, you don't belong in college. The hardest thin about this class is using Chicago style citation instead of MLA or APA

This was my first experience with an online classroom. I wasn't sure what to expect but everything was easy to follow and understand. Clear directions and great feedback. The best professor I've ever had. She does not really care for quizzes/test but rather your growth as a student. That being said, we never had any quizzes/tests but completed a self- analysis in place of those tests. Attendance is part of your grade so keep that in mind, however, McClurg is super funny and sweet so going to class is never a pain.

I took Texas History 2301 online 16 wk course. I would recommend on taking her class. Gives a lot of extra credit and is really helpful. Also, gives out fun and unique assignments. no test just essays. so be prepared to write. Super easy A for me! Also one of the great things is you don't need an textbook!

Online Class This class is very easy as long as you do your homework and try. you will have discussion post every week as well as something else every now and then. The first half of the semester is a bit boring sine you learn about Texas history, but the second half of the semester is really fun. You dont need a book which is great!

I took this class to get started back into school,I took a long break. This teacher is friendly, always offering help or extra credit. She did a meet and greet for us since we are an online class and she organized a baseball game for use to attend with our families. Only thing i personally wasnt a fan of was the one group project.

Took her on-campus for 1302 and then again online the next semester for Texas History. I prefer taking her online to just get to the point and read her material for myself which is required for her assignments (No textbook was needed for 2301). Half her assignments are super easy while the other half require you to read and analyze, easy grader!

Always has chances for extra credit anything from a meet and greet to adding small little things to papers like a picture! I would take every class she teaches she's fantastic

Professor McClurg's Texas History Class was one of my funnest classes, but also was the class I had to work the longest on assignments. There is a lot of reading each week. But the assignments are fun and relatively easy. She loves teaching and loves her students. She goes above and beyond with helping students to increase their grades, if needed.

The class was not hard, but requires a lot of reading. The most of the writing assignments are simple enough, and the requirements and rubric are posted and easy to understand. The class is essentially self-paced, and the professor is accessible and very helpful. Plenty of opportunities for extra credit.

Her class content is pretty interesting as far as Texas history goes (not the boring same old same that gets drilled into you year after year in TX primary schools). As long as you have half a brain and put in a very reasonable amount of effort, there's absolutely no reason you can't pass. Def enjoyed her class.

Kimberly McClurg was hands down one of the easiest, nicest, online professors I have had in the past two years! Her online class was fun, and the work was easy! You don't need the textbook because she scans and puts it online for you! She is so genuinely nice! Highly recommend her!

This was my first online course and I loved it! It was very well organized. There is a module every week that includes your assignment, readings from the textbook, which you don't need to buy, and any other information that will help you on the assignment. You know exactly what you have to do and when you have to turn it in. Overall, great class.

I took Texas History Online with Professor McClurg. She is wonderful at her job and cares about her students. This class does require a bit of reading but that it. The assignments are simple and she give ample time to finish them. Do the assignments and you will pass. She is a fantastic teacher and i'd take her over and over again.

Prof Mc is hands down the Best Professor at Northwest Vista. I never wanted to take an online course, but Prof Mcs course syllabus is very detailed and easy to follow. I took online Texas History with her, and I would recommend it to anyone. Modules are set up with all the information you need for the weeks assignments, so no book necessary. There is a lot of reading, but nothing out of the ordinary. She also comes up with interesting assignments which require a bit of creativity, but they're fun.

I am taking Prof. McClurg for Texas history online and she is great! I hate history but the assignments are on interesting topics, so it isn't boring at all. We have several assignments a week but it really doesn't feel like a lot at all. If you have the chance to take her, do it!

I took McClurg's online HIST 2301 class at Northwest Vista College Spring 2019. She is one of the best professors I have ever taken. I had never taken an online course before, but she makes it very easy and fun. Things are due mondays makeing due dates easy to remember. Only one group project and lots of extra credit. Professor is very good at open communication. Extra credit is avialiable, along with being able to get to schedule appointments in you have any questions or concerns with your grades. As long as you do the work and keep consistent with the readings this class should be a breeze. There are assignments such as discussions along with essays.

The db's are mandatory and cannot be made up so do them! There's no textbook required as she gives the readings to you via pdf.

I absolutely loved Mrs. McClurg for Texas History, her projects and assignments are not like a typical lecture heavy teacher and I think I learned more like that than if I had pure lectures. Took this class along with a U.S. history course and you can see where Professor McClurg changes up the assignments in an attempt to make the assignments entertaining. Professor McClurg was such an amazing professor. Gives multiple extra credit opportunities and does not give difficult assignments. Be sure to read every announcement. Textbook wasnt required either which was nice. Be sure to get in quickly!!

I didn't realize how much information I didn't know about my own history. They don't teach this stuff in high school. Prof. Mc was so nice and allowed me to turn stuff in late. there is a lot of reading but she makes it so interesting. Take her if you can you won't regret it.

Well deserved review. I currently work and attend school full-time, so my only option is online classes. If I weren't such a procrastinator, I would have received an A. As long as you do the assigned work, you will pass!! Her class was fun and I learned a lot. I would take another one of her classes in a heartbeat!

Took Proffessor MC for an 8 week online course. Easy work, just be on top of it. She made History 2301 FUN:) Definitely recommend.

My favorite professor so far. SUPER easy assignments, SUPER easy grading rubric, SUPER easy A! Took this class as a Flex course and the workload was very easy to manage. I love professor McClurg, her assignments were so fun and makes you think outside the box. I finished 2381 and immediately signed up for Flex 2382. This professor is amazing! 10/10

Prof. McClurg makes history class fun and engaging. The assignments are creative, and she offers plenty of extra credit opportunities. Using unstuckstudy ai alongside the free textbook helped me stay on top of the material and earn a great grade.

I loved this class if you are looking for someone to take PLEASE take this class! She is amazing and I loved this class fr fr. Take it as a flex or anything but take HER CLASS! PICK HER to have her teach you Texas history! Trust me it will be so worth it!! No joke she was amazing and I loved the assignments she gave! She also gave extra credit!!

I f you want an inspirational professor please take this professor, Her assignments and project are so engaging and creative. This Professor will awaken your creativity and you will love the class. she will not overwhelm you. Also she has extra credit assignments so you can always catch on!! Best Professor ever!

The best professor I've had so far. I took her 8-week online course (tx hist), there were 2 intro assignments, 3 discussion boards, 2 source analyses, and 6 activities. The activities were creative fun assignments like writing a song, cooking a Texas meal, playing Texas bingo, etc. Her class is a breath of fresh air. Extra credit and exempt work.

History is not my strong suit, but this class was not so difficult, and it was also a Maymester course for me. 10/10 recommend.

I took both African American History 1 & 2, and really enjoyed both of these courses. Professor McClurg gives us a lot of time to complete assignments and is super lenient with grading. She made class enjoyable and easy to follow along. You can tell she genuinely wants her students to learn, and I appreciate that.
