she was ok.
Really nice professor, she really cares for students and wants you to do well, as far as i can tell. I rarely attended class maybe twice. she puts up review before exams they are very simple. during exam if your struggling on question she will help! Easy A class, attendance wasn't mandatory.
Halfway thru the winter session and love it. Encourages you to speak about experiences/give examples about topic. She reviews with you before exam so you are very well prepared.Super laid back, funny & easy to listen to. Engaging & does not put you to sleep. THANK GOD! She wants you to do well & is very helpful. I wish I had taken more of her classes
I know you read this!! She is the best. Really cares about her students, and wants the whole class to do well. She is very engaging and I sit through a 3-hour lecture and I do not get bored!! Highly recommend her!!!!!!
Professor Robinson is fantastic. Her lectures are never boring, and she's incredibly easy to get along with. Her tests were very fair - not so easy, but not terribly difficult either. I would definitely recommend her as a professor. I've only taken her for one course, but I would definitely take her again if I could!
She's a great professor who encourages discussion among her students. She's also willing to help students who have questions regarding their research paper. Overall, her tests are easy as long as you go through her review sheet.
Such a sweetheart! This was the best class I've ever had @Hunter. She will not let anyone fail. She is more than fair&is clear. Doesn't try2trick u. She wants u2 learn. I learned so much in this class&can apply it in daily life. Lectures are not mandatory but they R worth going 2 b/c she is interesting & u dont need 2 study hard 4 the exams if u go.
I can't agree with some of these comments. This prof is a bit disorganized & a bit scattered brain if you ask me. She has good intentions but there is an underlying issue with her. I find her a bit bias.
She's super nice and makes class fun and interesting. Attendance isn't mandatory to pass IMO (as long as you really study the slides and articles). There are 4-5 assignments that are pretty simple and mostly reflection on a social experiment. Honestly, pretty easy A if you do enough work.
I took professor R over the summer and I enjoyed her class. I found her to be helpful, VERY down to earth, friendly, and passionate about the material. I hope I get the chance to take another one of her courses. -T
She is truly a pleasure to take. The material is interesting and the review sheet is crystal clear, she even uses a lot of the example questions on exam. If you study there is no way you can fail plus the written assignment are easy. Hunter needs more teacher like her. Would love to have her again.
My favorite professor at Hunter so far. She is the sweetest & most understanding person. She really cares about her students and will do everything in her power to make sure you succeed.
Prof Robinson is one of the best professors at hunter. Her lectures are never boring and she is very considerate of her students. Exams are straight forward so if you read the review sheet and study the slides you should do well.
She is one of the best professors at Hunter. She makes all of her lectures interesting and she posts all the power points online. She is very understanding so if you're stressed and can't hand in your homework on time, she'll give you an extension. Also most of the problems are straight from her review sessions and lectures. Overall, she is amazing
She is really kind and generous with grading and deadlines. 3 in-class exams, 3 one-page papers, and an extra credit assignment. Her exams are very similar to the practice and socrative questions she posts. Final was optional, online and extremely easy. Easiest grade I've earned, and not to mention the material was intriguing.
She is one of the best professors I have encountered in hunter. I would recommend her for anyone. She creates interesting discussions in class and her test are overall not hard at all. She goes through various questions for the exam that we are going to be tested for. It usually appears just worded differently. Extra Credit assignments are offered
She's nice and very helpful when you have a problem. She uses powerpoint lectures then posting them later on BB. There were 4 exams lowest grade gets drop. Focus on the powerpoint. I would totally recommend her in this class and her other classes.
AMAZING PROFESSOR, MAKES YOU WANT TO LEARN JUST FOR THE HECK OF IT. She's very respectful to her students, and provides as much individual attention as possible. Makes the class that no matter how bad of a student you are, she'll make sure you pass with an A. She's very understanding and reaches out to you just in general even after the class
Dr. Robinson is very helpful and genuine. She is very very knowledgeable and gives fun, engaging examples of clas material in her lectures! Attendance was not mandatory but it is to one's advantage to get to know her because she is a very helpful recommender come grad school application time!
SHE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! SHE IS VERY UNDERSTANDING AND CARES FOR STUDENTS. EXAMS ARE NOT HARD AT ALL IF U STUD HER SLIDES. TAKE HER SERIOUSLY U WILL NOT REGRET IT. ITS AN EASY A
She's amazing. I wish I could have taken more than just one class with her. So intelligent and also very engaging. Lectures are great, she explains all concepts well and really captures your attention. Also a plus, she's extremely kind. Really a gem!
The most amazing professor I have ever taken, and will continue to take in Hunter. Inspired me to love psychology and does her best to help everyone learn the material. If you see her name pop up. Take her. Now.
She is the best teacher anyone could ask for. Cares about students. Helps a LOT. Exams are fair, HW can be extended, extra credit is given. One word an amazing professor for a hard class like 248.
One of the best professors I ever had! This is an easy A for an actually hard class. She helps a lot, answers all your questions, gives extra credits, due dates gets longer and some times even longer again. At the lab the professor will always help you . She will always do her best to explain hard material in an easy way. Do your HW!
LOVE HER! She was so sweet, caring, and willing to help! Lost count of how many questions I asked her during lab, and she was willing to answer each one, no problem! Take her! Don't even think twice! She nurtures her students and wants you to pass! Gave an extra credit lab, and even let me hand in a lab late for full credit!
The best professor in Hunter!!!!!!
Omg, I just read all of your reviews and they are all excellent!! And looks like I agree with all of them. Dr. Kimberly Robinson an ex ordinary human being. I would recommend her for the Nobel Prize Award... Professor is Certified Awesome!
THE BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD. SHE BLEW MY MIND. My life has forever been changed since taking this course.
I took her for statistics and health psychology. She is a saint :) She's so sweet & doesn't take herself too seriously as she knows when she's made a mistake and will do anything in her power to fix it. As a person who isn't really good in math, she honestly makes statistics so easy to understand. She gives HW and three exams with an optional final
Take her, you won't find a better professor for 248
Dr. Robinson very obviously cares for her students. She's incredibly approachable and willing to help anyway she can. Go out of your way to take her for any class!
The BEST Professor for 248! And AMAZING as a person!
Go to lectures even though they aren't mandatory they are extremely helpful. Easy grader, very understanding, sometimes she is a little disorganized but overall a good lecturer. I would take her again
Professor robinson is the hands down best professor for 248. I wanted to cry knowing i won't be taking her next semester. she's a easy greater, very understanding and cares a lot about her students. if you want to get an A in 248. YOU HAVE TO TAKE HER, YOU WONT FIND ANYONE BETTER THAN HER. SHES SIMPLY THE BESTTTTTT!!
Probably one of the sweetest people you will ever encounter. Go to her office hours and see. She gets that Psych majors don't normally do much math and as a result makes the lessons easy to understand. Attendance isn't mandatory but its WORTH IT to go to lecture; she does a good job explaining. Lots of hw, but gives opportunities for extra credit.
Psych 248 is one of the hardest classes psych majors at Hunter have to take. With that being said, if you have the chance to take Prof. Robinson take her! She is aware that it is a heavy subject and provides a lot of extra credit. 50% exams; with an optional final; 50% hws and lab. So do your Hws and go to lab and do your best on the exams
Took Stat Psych Spring 17. Lecture posted on blackboard, homework on each chapter plus aplia (quiz after each chapter). Can make up hw by each exam. 3 exams & final optional. Test are multiple choice. Lectures summarize textbook. Professor is nice and easy going. This class overall is alot of work but she makes it easy. Best Stat Prof trust me!!
I took professor Kimberly for Psychology 248 (psychology of statistic) and she is the most caring, understanding, and best professor that I have taken in Hunter so far. She really cares about her students. She does require that you do textbook and online homework but they are usually not that bad. Textbook is required for this class.
What a great professor: She's kind, caring, funny, anything u ask 4, she listens. She's super lenient on HW/Exam dates, grading, test content. Subject & material is a lot & tough but she makes it easy to do well. Lectures r basic summary tho, so read textbk at home. I didn't absorb evrythng about stats but do all ur work & u will b fine! (SS1 17)
Took Dr. Robinson in the first summer session. I was never a big fan of stats and didn't think I would get anything above a B, but Dr. Robinson gave so many opportunities and made it impossible to get anything lower than a B. She's amazing and tries to make it as interesting as possible, also gives a lot of extra credit!
Amazing professor. No need for text since her slides sum up everything. Great thing is she doesnt care about attendance and understands that students sometimes have other obligations. There are 4 exams with the lowest dropped and hw helps reinforce what you learned so basically just extra points as long as you do them. Offers extra credit!
She is such a nice professor. I would definitely recommend taking her for psych 248. She gives a lot of extra credit. She also tries her best to get to your emails as soon as possible.
Dr. Robinson is so nice and caring! She genuinely wants her students to do well. Psych 248 is a hard course but she makes it fun and somewhat easy. She is sometimes disorganized and lectures too fast. Her powerpoints are incredibly helpful! My favorite Professor in Hunter thus far!
Dr. Robinson is great. She is caring and laid-back. Her homework and online quizzes are not hard at all. She made the lectures as interesting as she could. We had to work in a group project and she was helpful throughout the whole process. I would recommend her.
Prof Robinson is one of the best Psych professors at Hunter. Her lectures are very important, she is very caring and kind. Not only is she an amazing professor but she is a well mannered person. She brings up very interesting ideas in lectures... Psych 248 is one of the hardest courses you will take but she makes it doable.
Easy and interesting class. Minimal work! Professor Robinson is very nice and wants her students to do well. Shes a bit forgetful and takes forever to reply to emails!
Trust me, she is an amazing professor and is SO understanding. She extended few of the assignments for the whole class, online quizzes are easy, and HW is answering Q's straight from textbook. Before giving exams she advises the students a week before if its a 'good time' for an exam and provides study sheets - so caring and understanding.
Dr. Robinson's class is the best option for 248 at Hunter! Be aware that you will have to be very responsable and do all the HW and labs, and basically studying on your own - But she's super flexible and if you do ALL the work you'll probably get an A. It's not a easy A because there's a lot of work and the material can be tough. (Take home exams)
She was awesome. She was funny, helpful. Explained material very well. Would take her again
Her AT this semester has been very cold and rude , Professor has been listening to her on how do exams and making the exams for us which the AT makes them very difficult. Our exam 3 was assignment seats with 175 students in the class & we had less time based on this. We need to complete online and textbook homework which are graded unfair.
Professor Robinson has been unorganized this semester, she also has been changing her mind based on how exams will be taken. She first told us the exams were going to be online then changed it to in class exams. She also made us have assign seats for the exam. The homework is a lot one is online the other is textbook problems.
Definite administrative disorganization in this class, BUT Prof. Robinson is a caring, genuine, and incredibly knowledgable teacher who wants her students to succeed. HW is manageable w/ patience and hard work. Tests straightforward if u read txtbook. EC offered. U hv to take initiative to do well, and it's not the prof's or TA's fault if u don't.
Be ready to self-study. The TA was something else this semester. Dr. Robinson is a sweet and caring person, she cares about teaching, but she's a bit disorganized and changes her mind frequently. Be ready for her to change how exams are given in the middle of the semester. HAND IN ALL HOMEWORK'S AND GO TO LAB! Otherwise, it was a fair class.
DISASTER! Stay away from her when she teaches a big class. Pick other smaller classes with other prof
Overall, as long as you attend every lecture and do your homework + Mindtaps + Lab assignments (also three take-home assignments), you will not do too bad on the exams. I asked a few others that are also taking Psych 248 but found out their professors do not offer extra credits and TAs don't even provide HW solutions. I am glad that I chose her.
Due to COVID19, she made class extremely manageable. There are many extra credit opportunities by attending recitation or completing extra problem sets. Textbook is provided through BB, so its free. HW is very easy because similar problems are given with steps to follow. Exams are straightforward.
Most disorganized and irresponsible professor. She doesnt respond to my emails about exams and other questions.
She's really great about answering questions and helping everyone understand the material. There is a lot of homework, but as long as you stay on top of it you'll be fine. Tests are very much like the homework and she gives great exam preparation.
She does not know what she is teaching. Her TA makes the exams. When this professor does not know how to answer a students question in class, she makes her TA answer it. You really have to read the textbook and teach yourself.
My lab class was horrendous, which greatly effected my experince in the class. I would say to be very cautious while picking a lab teacher. She is a really sweet teacher and she clearly cares. She is however, very disorganized and doesnt always answer emails. She gives extra credit and as long as you stick to a schedule you can get the work done.
Dr. Robinson is a solid choice for PSYCH248! The course itself can be very challenging; however, she makes sure that students have equal opportunities to pass the course. 2020's been a tough year for professors and students alike, and she has been nothing but compassionate and graceful. Curved exams, lots of extra credits + office hours. Take her!
Dr. Robinson is one of the best Psychology professors I have ever had at Hunter. Her PowerPoints are very straight forward and she tells you exactly what you need to study for the exams. She offers a lot of extra credit opportunities such as attending recitations and she curves exam grades. She was very understanding during this pandemic.
TAKE HER. But be warned - the class is chaos. she herself is a messy teacher and somehow it gets worse with the TA's. Just accept the chaos instead of stressing over it and you will be fine. I personally never showed up to class, if you know what you are doing you can do the same, she provides enough materials to self study in your own pace.
Dr. Robinson was one of the most amazing professors at Hunter College. She is so kind and understanding and explains every single concept so well. She also provides so many practice exams before the actual exam, which is really helpful. There are so many extra credit oppurtunities and she makes the class fun.
Dr. Robinson is a sweet heart, she always extended homework and extra credit. The homeworks are super easy as long as you take notes in class, and the tests are straightforward based off the homework and practice questions. She's super understanding and wants you to pass!
TAKE HER. She is one of the best profs I ever had. There are 4 exams and drop the lowest one. There are a lot of extra credit opportunities. She also does curves for exams although the exams are very easy.
Good luck with this class, so disorganized. If you need anything from Dr. Robinson, email her at least 3 business days before you want a reply. They also let the worst TAs grade for this class. There were way too many times where I got a homework question right and the grader took points off, making me have to reach out/argue to get my points back.
Professor Robinson is so so sweet and understanding. She provides so much help/is always reachable through email, and she has tutoring sessions and "recitations" for every chapter that you can attend for extra credit. As long as you go to class, you will definitely pass! She's amazing I definitely recommend her for 248.
She's a great lecturer... and thats where it ends. Frequently cancels office hours and in turn the TA's for the class do the same. Does not answer her email or phone as she says she will. Instructions are often unclear or vague and constant corrections to exam questions, homework questions and due dates. Stress out more about her than the material.
So like the previous person said, she knows her lectures and bases them on the exams. She gives extra credit and has office hours. However, I not pleased with the fact that she misses office hour and doesn't let us know in advance. Could you at least email the second you know you can't come? Email her heavily if you want her to respond back.
I LOVE PROFESSOR ROBINSON. She made me genuinely enjoy statistics. She is such a caring professor and will give you every possible opportunity to succeed. Please reach out to her if you are struggling. One of Hunter's absolute gems. 10/10.
She is amazing. I love her. You don't have to go class for attendance it is not mandatory but if you attend it will help you better understand wit knowledge.
3 exams300, online48 and textbook hw48, practice exams4, lab100. Lectures were incredibly clear and she did review sessions before exams which were so helpful. Shes understanding with due dates. Really cares for her students. Always reachable via email. I also got lucky with a good lab prof. Records all lectures. Has a cat too! RECOMMEND!
The hype is a lie!! Her exams were tough plus she made mistakes on the hw and exams. There is so many hw its insane. Textbook hw, online hw, practice exams hw and extra credit that's stressful either you do it or go to recitation instead for an hour there's 6 extra credit that's 6 HOURS on top of the 3 hours lecture and 3 hours labs.
Best professor for this class. Very chill, knows how to explain everything a little bit simpler and is usually open for extra credit.** Keep in mind** I too her over the summer. I don't know how she is over a 3 month semester, but from my time with her she was ok.
Professor Robinson is so sweet and teaches the material really well. Her exams are mostly conceptual and few problem solving. She also provides plenty of extra help and exam reviews.
Dr. Robinson is a good professor. The class is manageable but, I wouldnt recommend asking her to write you recommendation letters. It also takes her awhile to respond to emails as well.
Dr. Robinson is great. She is very kind and understanding, offers a lot of resources (exam practices, study guide, recitation, extra credit etc.) so you won't fall behind unless you slack off. There is a lot of HW so it may get hectic or stressful, especially with lab, but still very doable. Highly recommend taking her class.
She's a favorite among psych majors. She's caring, very soft spoken, and wants her students to succeed. She curves tests frequently, and by A LOT of points. She does not provide a lot of extra credit, but honestly you won't need it in her class. She does everything she can to make sure you get a good grade before sending you off to PSYCH 250!
Reviews dont lie, she is amazing. I was terrified coming to this class but she made it very enjoyable. She is non-judgmental, very caring, and accessible. She spends time on every student that has questions and admits when she is wrong. Lots of extra credit. Take her!
Highly recommend! She's a good teacher who wants you to do well. Unpretentious and easy to talk to. Preps you well for exams and curves. Attendance is not mandatory. Organized, PPTs posted, clear grading. Would def take her again. In my experience, the workload was easier than Stats 113. Tip: also pick a good lab prof, it'll make life easier.
Professor Robinson is one of the most understanding and caring professors, she really tries to help you understand the lectures and answers all the question you may have. It was a hard class but she makes it much more bearable and fun. he textbook was free and had three exams that were similar to the given practice tests with optional final.
If you can take her for any psych claSS, JUST DO IT. SHE IS AMAZING, THE CLASS IS HARD AND TONS OF MATERIAL. SHE DOES HER BEST AT EXPLAINING IT TO YOU. 1. ATTEND RECITATIONS 2. ATTEND EXAM REVIEW SESSIONS. 3. ASK QUESTIONS AND SHE WILL EXPLAIN IT thoroughLy,
Take her take her take her take her. You have to get a C or higher to pass, but I never expected myself to earn a B+ in stats, my weakest subject. Cares about her students, wants them to succeed, and it shows by the way she communicates with the class and offers so many (extra credit) recitations. She is awesome at what she does, a whole gem
This class was hard for me, but she makes sure that everyone is understanding. A very awesome professor makes her lectures easy to catch. Would take her again and again. She has such a kind soul though. One of the best professors I could have met in hunter.
SHE IS THE BEST AT HUNTER. SUPER UNDERSTANDING. CARES ABOUT HER STUDENTS AND LOVES TO TEACH. WISH HUNTER HAD MORE PROFESSORS LIKE HER.
She is inspiring , caring , the best professor someone can ask for !!!
she is definitely one of the best professors in Hunter. 248 is a lot of work but with Dr. Robinson, it is not bad at all, you still have to put in the work ofc. she is very understanding and caring. The only thing is that she is not very accessible outside of class but she is also super busy. overall, I'd take her again.
She is a really good professor, a little disorganized, but truly one of the bests! 248 is hard to begin with but she is able to teach the material well and gives extra credit. As long as you do the hw, and do well on the exams, and show up/pay attention you will do great in the class. She truly wants everyone to do well.
She's very caring, posts lecture slides. She was a little bit messy, and switched to online halfway through the semester. Exams were given through blackboard. Highly recommended for psych electives!
Professor Robinson was very sweet! Attendance was not mandatory & you can study off her slides for exams. If you miss an exam & give her a valid excuse, she allows you to make it up online. She also allows students to change the date of exams if necessary. The final was also optional.
Dr. Robinson is great! She's sweet and makes stats easy to digest. She curves and also offers lots of extra credit if you go to recitations and exam reviews, which is a great grade boost. This semester was a little whack at the end since she had some medical issues, but it was still pretty easy to follow. The final is optional, which is nice.
Exams were pretty straight forward for the most part if you review the study guides and review questions. Lectures were boring as she reads straight from the slides.
The kindest professor you would ever meet. Made everything so attainable, listened to my concerns, and provided me feedback even when I was late. Exams were select review questions, the textbook was mandatory but everything needed in the textbook was on the slides. My only regret was I wish I participated more Dr.Robinson is truly heaven-sent.
Professor Robinson is incredibly kind and understanding. Exams are straightforward if you review the study materials. Lectures can be dry, but she makes the course very manageable. Using unstuck AI alongside the free textbook helped me stay on top of the material.
She's amazing and very sweet
She is amazing! She only wants the best for you and wants you to succeed in life. There are 3 exams and an optional final. There is also homework and lab but if you put in the effort, you will do so amazing in her class.
Dr.Robinson is a very kind & understanding professor, yet she literally reads off the slides so the lecture is really boring. Attendance isn't mandatory which is nice. 3 written assignments, 4 exams (including the final) one of which gets dropped and she gives extra credit. If you know the slides well then it's an easy A
Such an amazing professor that cares and makes sure that you pass. She gives extra credit and also her tests are so much easier compared to other professors that teach this class. Her test are multiple choice compared to professors that give 19 huge word problems. TAKE HER you won't regret it
Very nice professor. Cares about students and gives great feedback. Exams are pretty easy as long as you review the study guides. Not a tough grader. Class can be a bit boring at times.
She's an absolute GEM! She posts and reviews practice exam questions that are so similar to what's on the actual exams. To pass, literally just complete the study guide she posts & review practice problems. She also curves a little which helps quite a lot. Also took her for 242 and I can say the same thing. Her study guides do help! Just take her!!
Dr. Robinson was very understanding and kind. She posted helpful study guides and test reviews, which made preparing for exams much easier. She also curved tests, which was a huge help. If I could, I would definitely take her class again!
very great class that I did independent research for. a great mentor that to have for this class as well. I learned so much from them and advice given from them as well.
