As long as you paid attention and came to class, it was one of the easiest classes ever! (It also helps if you like Chem). She is very easy to understand and is very helpful.
Possibly the most intelligent, pleasantly nerdy female I've ever met. Brilliant. In fact, the only problem with Kim is that she's so intelligent that what appears obvious to her is unintelligible to we ignorant college students. Very genuine and interested in her field--great personality-fair grader
Excellent professor. To find such a straight-forward professor for chemistry was a blessing for me. She gets straight to the point, no nonsense. She is very approachable and creates a positive atmosphere. She also tells you what you need to know basically for an upcoming exam.
She keeps you awake!
I'm terrible at Chemistry, but I got a B in her class because she was so awesome at teaching it. I highly recommend Kimberly Salt!

Very funny, very cool. She knows what she's talking about, and how to explain it perfectly.
She's got this attitude you don't find in any normal college. And yes, she does, literally, bounce off walls when she's talking about chemistry. The less enthusiastic we were about chem, the more she was. She is absolutely in love with chemistry and the explainations of how it works to our daily and future benefit. I'd recommend her to anyone who is interested in the field of science. She makes the content easy to understand, comprehend, and remember. Plus, she's really laid back about it. ---CAMI
Awesome teacher! One of the best teachers I have ever had and definitely the best chemistry teacher I have ever had. I give this teacher a 27 on scale from 14 to 25! If you have the chance, take Chemistry with a grain of Salt! David

She makes the lectures fun- she's got a likeable dorky-funny thing going on. But she's not very approachable-she thinks she is, but she isn't. I also found her chalkboard lab insturctions confusing and annoying. She'd do much better sticking to the manual. Also, you'll find studying the notes more useful than the book.
Dr. Salt is probably the only teacher I've ever had who actually has her stuff together. You learn so much in her class and have soooo much fun, I would recommend her to anyone!!!!! She's awesome, and pretty easy, she doesn't try to trick you, so just take her!
She is the best teacher. You can easily get an A in her class. She always gives you pretests and says what will be on the exam. Just pay attention to her lectures.
VERY VERY EASY! All you have to do is go to class and take notes. If you really don't feel like going to class , a couple days before the test she gives out the answers to what is on the test!! She is real cool! and there is No way anyone could FAIL it!! EASY A!!
Prof. Salt is a great teacher! She explains everything clearly and doesnt require you to memorized every little thing if you go to class take notes and study them before exmas you will definitely do well. She also gives you the questions and answers of exams before so you can pretty much pass the class becasue of that
She explains how easy she is, but grades labs/test very harshly, go to learning center she is unapproachable. She seems disgruntled if you ask a question.
Chem was a prereq. I had no prior interest & to be honest, I was a little worried! Dr. Salt is very approachable and takes a boring, difficult subject & makes it easy to understand. She gives extra credit & her lectures are easy to follow. She tells you exactly what you need to know & what to study! I got 97%. I definitely recommend taking her.
Very helfull. Learned a lot. Lectures are imformative. She tells you what you need to do to pass. I enjoyed the class.
Dr. Salt is an amazing chem teacher. I had never taken chem before and she explains everything cleary, gives you 10 to 15 points in test corrections and a few days before each exam she goes over each question one her exam telling you exactly what she will ask and tells you how to solve it!!
Wow? Have you ever met a professor who gives you all the exam questions and its setup prior to the exam??? SALT does! She is great, funny, and super SMART! Her class is so much fun (make friends, lab is fun). Her depth of knowledge is commendable, and her passion for chemistry oozes through her. **Sniff sniff** I smell an easy A!
Trys to make the class fun, simple and succinct explanations.
she's the greatest chem. professor ever.
Prof. Salt is THEE BEST teacher I have ever had! She made me feel confident I could pass! And I got a B which is great for me. She really knows how to teach and make a topic interesting and fun to learn! I wish all teachers were like her. Boebinger great too. Both VERY helpful. I had a great learning experience. Bravo for great teachers.
Dr. Salt is the best professor I have had at Crafton. She is to the point, funny, and actually makes chemistry interesting and points out that it is relevant to our everyday lives. I did not like chemistry in High School, but I sure do now! I got an A in her class, and I would recommend her to anyone intersted in taking chemistry.
Was freakin out the first week, almost dropped. Like learning a foreign language! Hang in there! She goes over EACH QUESTION on the tests incl. final! Labs are super easy. Practically guaranteed a passing grade- if you actually study you'll get an A, I did it so can you. USE THE TUTORS! THEY ARE SMART AND FREE!!!
I had an A going into the final (Due to the absurd amounts of extra credit she provides.) And felt like I did terrible, still got an A in the class. I tried to take the Gen Chem II at Riverside Community over the summer, but upon seeing Prof. Richardson's strange philosophy on grading, I decided to wait and stick with Dr. Salt. Highly recommended.
She is so smart, a gifted scientist that makes learning chemistry interesting and understandable. Awesome professor!
I'm just going to echo what everyone else has said- she's great instructor who makes the subject very interesting and teaches it very well. The class isn't a cakewalk but it's still rather easy to do well if you put the effort required into it.
She's pretty much an amazing instructor. I was dreading taking this course, but she made it fun, interesting and no intimidating. I really loved her class and I learned and retained far more than I thought I would.
Dr. Salt is an amazing chemistry instructor. She is well-qualified to be teaching this subject and uses language that any individual can comprehend. I highly recommend that you take Dr. Salt for all of your basic chemistry courses.
She makes chemistry interesting. In high school I found it boring but the way she explained the concepts made it easier to understand. I would definitely recommend her.
Dr. Salt is an amazing teacher. She is very helpful and helps you to understand the material. She also goes over each test question so you can know what to study for the test. I got an A in her class. It wasn't easy but not to hard if you just study. I will be taking her next semester for Chem 151.
Very good instructor, helpful and fair. The class seemed a little too short and we had to go over the material very fast. I highly recommend Dr. Salt.
Dr. Salt is an knowledgeable and well learned in chemistry, but this makes her a bit condescending if she expects you to know the material and you ask a question about it. 151 is definitely harder and trickier and the final is a bit iffy in my opinion. The labs are fun, and if you do everything she tells you then you will get an A.
Dr. Salt is knowledgeable and well learned in chemistry, but she can be a bit condescending if you ask her a question and she expects you to know it already. Nonetheless, she is a great professor and the work you put it into it will be reflected on your grade.
Good teacher, just very boring class. She is so in love with chemistry, so she teaches the class as if we all love it and understand it to the fullest. She goes by topics way too quick
SO BORING.. SHE TEACHES AS IF EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS. I DIDN'T LEARN A SINGLE THING, BUT GOT BY WITH A B CAUSE SHE IS SUCH AN EASY/NICE TEACHER
If you're looking for an easy A, you're not going to find one in any chemistry class. Although it's a challenging, fast-paced class, Prof. Salt will help make it easy to succeed. If you put in decent effort, you will definitely pull through. And showing up to every class and labs is a definite must!
Possibly the best chemistry teacher ever. She gives study guides for all her exams so that you know what to study. Attending class isn't mandatory but it is almost certainly necessary. Her knowledge of the subject is very high. Lectures are fast paced but in good order and she constantly works out sample problems in class to help students get it.
really good teacher.id take her again.if you dont get a 90 or better on a test you have to redo it and u get ten points added to your test grade.homework is just chapter questions and she puts even answers on blackboard.
Salt is such a good teacher. She is very helpful and pretty funny sometimes. She explains everything very clear. I went into the class not knowing anything about chem and am now thinking of majoring. Go to class, do the work, and you will do fine. awesome class and teacher!
Professor Salt was probably one of if not the best professor I have ever had in my 4 year + collegiate experience. She is extremely effective, reasonable, & passionate about Chemistry. Her lectures are engaging and pertinent. I would highly recommend her for anyone who would like to thoroughly learn general chemistry.
Possibly my favorite teacher ever. She makes sure the class can understand the material, goes over things multiple times, very entertaining and shows passion for what she does. Her tests are possibly the most straightforward ever. She basically hands you the test on the review day, so you know what to study. Such a great professor
She is an amazing teacher. Helpful and understanding. I missed one of the midterms once because my car broke down and she let me take another time. Best teacher ever!!
Absolutely fantastic professor. I wish she could teach all of my science classes. She makes great analogies and explains everything extremely well, but the pace is still brisk enough for faster learners.
Going to take for her chem 150..very enthusiastic teacher, so lectures are not boring. she tells you exactly what will be on the test so you study correctly. Offers corrections too...recommend her!!
best chemisty teacher in the world, u need to take her!
Dr. Salt is the best! She explains things really well and puts a lot of effort into creating fun and effective lectures.
Salt is a good teacher. She makes it easy to get an A in the class as long as you attend lab and come on test days of course. Main thing about her is that she tells you exactly what is going to be on the test, which helps a lot! Only bad thing is that lectures are extremely boring and her voice literally makes you want fall asleep or zone out!
Awesome teacher! She is so willing to help the students. There is no reason you cannot get an A in her class. Dr. Salt took the time to help me whenever I had questions. She provides everything you need to know with powerpoint. I wish all my teachers had the enthusiasm that she provides to the students. I stayed after class just to learn more!
Easy class if you do your work.
Salt is a wonderful professor. Because of this class, I love chemistry and decided on going into pharmacy. She goes out of her way to make sure you pass the class by providing exact test reviews and 10 points for redoing test questions you missed. The class is very interesting, and she keeps the class entertained. Can get an A if you do the work.
Amazing
I was referred to Salt and am very happy I took her course!! I defiantly recommend her class!! If you put the time and effort into this course you'll pass!!!
By no means bad but not great. She'll tell you what kind of problems will be on an exam, BUT she'll be vague, and there are things that were not mentioned in class on the exams. Also to note is that the class average on exam 1 was a 63, yet she outright said she did not care. Also teaches at a rate that is really too fast for this subject.
She'll help you if asked a question, but she doesn't seem to care whether or not you pass. The class average on the first two exams were just slightly above a 60%, yet this did not seem like a problem to her. It's a difficult subject, and she covers it waaay too fast, which could be the problem. If you have other options, I suggest taking those.
Had her for Chem 150 and 151 best teacher ever. Knows her stuff and explains it great. Test are somewhat hard but if labs and other assignments are completed, then you will fine.
Professor Salt is amazing. The best thing about her is that she is really passionate about what she does, which in turn makes you care. If you show up and take notes, you should be good. No tricks. She is extremely helpful and understanding.
I find it concerning that a teacher has an average of a D+, yet somehow she has over a 45 here! Honestly she does tell SOME of what will be on tests, but she gets her questions from AP tests, meaning that no matter how hard or how much you study, there will be something you cannot plan for. Also rather mean to anyone not a chem major.
If you get anything below a 90 you are an idiot. This is one of the easiest classes you could ever take. You learn alot its a really fun class but be careful on who your lab instructor is because some can be hard.
In class: 2+24 Homework: 734+555-432:6977 Test: With two sheep flying, one yellow, the other headed right, how much does a pound of asphalt cost, given that the cow is 10 years old? That pretty much sums up her class. Better chem teacher than most, but SUPER hard tests. Her tests make you feel like you know NOTHING. Labs are easy.
She's an AMAZING professor, you truly learn chemistry from her. I use to hate chemistry because it never made sense to me, but I am now in love with chemistry. Take this professor she makes you understand the language of chemistry. Chemistry is not easy but Professor Salt makes it doable. You have to put work in to get an A. I love her corky humor!
She really knows what she teaches. I love how loud and passionate she is about what she lectures on. She is willing to work with you. She gives you the exam review which is practically exam (worded differently). Take her lab. I LOVE HER!! One of my favorites on campus(:
Great professor, makes chemistry enjoyable! I'd recommend the other teacher for lab instead of having Salt for lab. Exams are doable, esp with her review. Final was a tiny bit tough. Easy to get a B, definitely more work for an A.
Best teacher on campus! She tells you exactly how to pass this class and even get a really good grade. she allows test corrections 10 pts, you can always go up a whole letter grade. Her notes are so good I wouldn't even need the book if it weren't for homework.
smirk remarks she gave out during talks. lots of information. very tough. RUDE at times, should know how to be more respectful to her students.
I had her for both Chem 150 and 151 and it was absolutely great. If you put in the work for studying the material, then the tests will not have any surprising material. Her lectures are engaging and she's willing to answer questions in her class. Best Chem professor ever!
This is a fast paced class. If you miss out on a class you may fall behind. As long as you participate during class you will pass with flying colors.
If you have to take chem at crafton. Deffinitely pick Salt! Grades fairly and has good lectures. Will need textbook for the homework and that's about it. Pretty much tells you what will be on the exams and offers test corrections that help slightly. I'd say the only thing she could improve on is offering powerpoints. You MUST go to class to pass.
Don't be an idiot! Just do your work and you're Gucci
I took both 150 and 151 with Dr. Salt. She is very thorough with her lectures, she makes her labs fun, and she provides you with everything you need to pass the class. Homework is very minimal, her lectures are great, and she allows you to do test corrections. As long as you work hard, an A is a definite possibility.
She is a very good teacher. Her lectures cover the most practical parts of chemistry, the parts that will be on your exams. She tells you exactly which types of problems will be on the test so you can practice. Homework is minimal and you get credit just for attempting it. Overall, not that difficult.
Great teacher. Explains things really well, and cares a lot. Literally goes over every question that will be on the tests and final, so don't skip out on lecture! Study hard, and you'll do just fine! Try to get high scores on the tests so that you don't have to do so well on the final, which was pretty hard.
I took all 3 chemistry classes with Dr. Salt at Crafton Hills College. She is a very patient, knowledgable professor who engages the students in a variety of ways. If the student is willing, she is there every step of the way! What an amazing instructor! A+
If Abraham Maslow were alive today, he'd include CHEMISTRY WITH DR. SALT in his theory on Hierarchy of Needs. 10/10 would take again
Inspiring!
Prof. Salt overall was a very good instructor. She goes through lecture pretty quickly but if you study and do your hw you will have no issues. She grades the homework based off effort and gives you the chance for extra credit on test corrections, which is great cause her tests are extremely hard. Put in the effort and youll be good.
Tools to succeed: Grades HW on effort, gives test hints as a review, and is available outside class to answer questions on both homework, lab, and lecture I learned a lot in this class. She sometimes teaches things her own way, so take good notes and don't skip class. Remember this is a five unit course, put the time in and you will succeed!
Her teaching is very easy to understand & I really enjoyed her as a professor, but I'm not the best test taker. After being confident in my final grade I thought I'd pass. So close, but NOPE. Speaking with the professor after, she was rude and made me feel like a complete idiot. I liked her throughout the course, but after this I was dumbfounded...
great teacher. labs are hands on and the write ups are short. not a lot of homework. generally likable. enjoy the light atmosphere of the lectures
Kim Salt is an amazing chemistry professor. She is funny, caring, and knowledgeable about her subject. She teaches you different ways to approach problems and always relates it to something understandable. She loves her dogs, and always has a smile on her face. Great teacher, and person to be around. I would definitely recommend her to anyone!
Really great professor. Just pay attention in class and show that you are putting effort into the class. And she will be willing to work with you. It is a difficult subject, so be ready to study.
Dr. Salt is by far the best professor I have ever had in any subject. This is not a class you can "sleep through" and get an A. As long as you are willing to put in the time and effort required for a chemistry course, she is willing to work with you on almost anything. Her class is 100% organized for your success, so if you fail, that is on you.
Professor Salt is an AMAZING professor. Her lectures are amazing and she loves to tell corny jokes that will get the whole class involved. Take the notes she gives and make sure to do the homework (not a lot of homework). Her tests are exactly like her study guides and there are not surprises with her. Be academically honest and youll do amazing!
Dr. Salt is an amazing professor. Her lectures are clear and works out lots of examples to better understand the material. She helps you prepare for every test and was always willing to help me with any questions I had. I'm actually sad I finished my gen chem sequence, I loved her class!
Dr. Salt this a great professor! Made the material easy to understand, best online professor I've had yet!
Dr. Salt is an amazing professor. She was my favorite professor in all of Crafton. She gives lectures that really help prepare you for the test. She gives study sessions that prepare you fully for the exams as well. I 10/10 recommend her.
at first I didnt like her but she really grew on me. Its very evident she cares about the subject, shes very cut and dry when it comes to whats expected, and she has a regular routine of lab and lecture with a daily quiz. Shes very accessible outside of class which was awesome and tries to make it fun by starting the lecture with a silly q&a.
I have taken Dr. Salt multiple times, she is tough, but she has a passion for what she teaches. I've learned to attend her office hours because she is willing to help and not make you feel dumb for asking questions. Exams are not long but study for them. Overall great professor!!
Class was amazing. Gave great lectures so you can easily understand. She is loud but don't feel intimidated. Just ask & she will help you out as much as possible during quizzes/exams. Don't be afraid to ask questions! She schedules assignments in a way that doesn't make the class overwhelming. Having multiple study partners in class helps a ton.
I took this class in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 for Chem 150 and 151 respectively. At the time, we had a quiz at the end of each lecture, but she asked us simple questions, nothing complicated. Additionally, the bulk of your grade relies on the labs (pre-labs, lab reports, etc), and the quizzes. Exams were chill (3 lecture one final).
I had Salt for both Chem 150 and 151. I think she is an amazing Chemistry professor. She made her expectations for her class very clear while making her lectures fun. We had a quiz every lecture, but that forces you to study a little bit every day which really helps in the end. Highly recommend her.
I had Dr Salt for both 150 and 151. Her grading criteria is very straightforward, and her lectures are fast paced but understandable. You'll get a good grade if you do well in lab. However, she does have a bit of an ego, so if you ask a silly question, she will treat you accordingly. Despite that, she's your best bet for a good chem professor.
Hands down best professor i've ever had, she made me love chemistry. She does daily quizzes at the end of lectures which go over what she taught the previous session, so never any surprises. She tells you exactly what will be on the exam so if you study you'll get an easy A. Labs usually take less than 90 minutes to complete if you're locked in.
The absolute best professor!!! I hope both sides of her pillow are cold when she sleeps, as she deserves.
