Before this class, the last speech i gave i actually fainted! so i was already terrified of this class, but turns out its a REALLY good class to take, its more onm a psychology level, it was one of my favorite classes cause it was so laid back and we had good times! plus, only 1 speech was mandatory! and it was short!

A handful of us from Human Services crawled on over and took this class as a sub for one that wasn't offered this year. It was great to meet and mingle with peeps outside our dept! Kim, you were great! The class was great! I really felt dept's collide and that we all really learned a lot from each other. That's what it's all about, right? C-ya

Kim is so much fun! Her lectures are witty & sharp. Extremely personable & helpful(she's not a curmudgeon and she's not Ben Stein.) You will do fine in her class!! Practice your speeches (she gives you plenty of time/help). Stick around/Do not drop. You'll love it by the end -- especially Impromptu speeches! Kim is a gem! You'll love her class!

she is really nice, great personality, kind of wacky. but, helpful. 4 speeches. the first and last are the easiest. Be sure to practice for the Inform. and Persuasive speeches. 2 take home tests, she drops the lowest one. Study for the final, a little hard. take the class, you will not regret it.

Professor Stankovich is very high energy and has lots of stories to tell. She is very helpful and her class is fun (even during the long summer session). I hate public speaking, but she definitely made me feel more comfortable. Do your research on subject matter and you will do well.

This class was the best. I hate speech and loved to go to this class. We didn't have any speeches. A couple of group things that you would stand in front of the class for like 2 min. Nothing too difficult guys. She is really cool and fairly funny with her gestures haha. Two take home tests, lowest is dropped andone ****final. Thats it!Easy Class!

I liked her. She showed off her personality and told us stories about herself which made us more comfortable disclosing about ourselves. Shes more of a mentor/teacher. 5 'mini assignments': 1-2 pg papers responding to her questions about subject matter, 2 tests-lower dropped, 1 share paper(3pg paper) & final.

She's ok. It seems easy but she is really strict when grading. One paper that also seems easy but she's really picky so try hard because you would be surprise with your grade. If you participate in class she'll like you.

I liked her class. She's a very popular teacher. Some say she's strict and some say she's not. I think she's in the middle. I think her classes are easy though. However, I think it depends on the subject. She's pretty and easygoing. People are not afraid to ask her questions. She's understanding and will work with you if you've got problems.

Kimberly is a great teacher! She is VERY FAIR with her grading, gives you plenty of opportunities to earn extra credit, and bases a large percentage of your grade on attendance and class participation. She will make you speak in front of the class and she does not give open note tests. She is a GOOD teacher.

She is very good at teaching, but she is very biased and doesn't even realize it. I wish I went on the verge of tears every time I gave a speech so I could get a pity B. Two take home tests, and one of them she drops. Rarely use book. Four speeches, two with typed outlines, one impromptu.

probably the most laid back class i have ever had...i guess it really depends on whose in your class, because in my class it was a group of cool people. she's nice, helpful, and i would call you a retard if you get anything lower than a c. just do the assignments and you'll be fine. i missed class a bit, and i'm still okay. she's cute and funny.

If you fail her class you are truly lazy. College doesn't get much easier than her class. Two take home exams and one in-class Final. She is funny and sweet. Speak up in class and others will follow your lead. Break the ice first and its like giving permission for everyone else to voice their opinions too. Learned that from experience. Take her!

Highly recommended if public speaking freaks you out. Very comfortable class environment, and she lets you know exactly what she expects from you, so her grading is completely FAIR. 4 speeches in all (intro,info,persuasive,improv). Wow what a teacher. Professor Stankovich makes class extremely fun. She's hilarious but she can still keep you focused on what you need to learn. TAKE HER, but do all the speeches! Plus just her being so damn cute makes you want to go to class everyday.

Mrs. Stankovich was by far the most fun and productive class I have taken in a long time. For most, public speaking is more terrifying than death, yet she will get you interested, informed and comfortable with giving a speech in no time. Finally, if you get to know your other classmates it will be much more fun.

It's been three or four years since I took her course. After Saddleback I went to CSUF. I'm a successful restaurateur and fledgling clinical therapist. This teacher, and her curriculum, were the very highlight of my collegiate experience. I couldn't recommend any class, or teacher, more highly than her(s). Simply stated, she is peerless.

Take this class during the summer!It is a lot of fun.She is a nice lady and gives you extra 10 points for attendance.Open stamp notes for midterm and final,so do the homework. You speak in front of class for at least 3 times,plus an intro about yourself on the first day. There are two essays,plus one practice on for ten points. Super easy class!

Prof. Stankovich makes her class fun to take and is very clear when she teaches her class. I took her SP5 class, and when I was told to take SP1 also, I knew I had to take her as my instructor again. Anybody out there who needs to take a SP1 or SP5 class, take this instructor; you cannot fail her class..good instructor!

Professor Stankovich is adorable and super nice! Loved her class! Some of the course content is common knowledge but very interesting and insightful anyways. If you don't miss a class then you get 10 extra credits, also If you miss one day then you still get 5 extra credits. She also drops the lowest exam, and if you play your cards right on all the exams then you don't have to take the final and still pass with an A!

Her brain is lightning fast and she is a wise lady with lots of experience in her field. She's been teaching awhile and has good stories, but could be a bit burned out on the material. Talks a lot about her own life. Being a communications major I wished for more challenge and learning, but for a general class it was okay.

Easy A if you simply do the bit of work. Teaches u to talk in front of people. So easy the football players were in my class(my 3 brothers had her). She's funny & to the point of what u need to know. Get the pocket book(u need for 3 tests) & packet(need for speeches and evaluations). 3 speeches persuasive is the ONLY kinda tuff 1 bc ppl r nervous.

There's only a few take home tests that are assigned and 4 speeches that you will get a good grade as long as you put some effort in and follow instructions. I will never forget this class! She makes the environment so fun. There is no public speaking (since it's interpersonal communication). You will laugh and learn a lot from this professor! However, there is one paper that is expected near the end of the semester (she reminds a lot), and if you don't do/miss it, you will not pass the class!

There's four speech projects and three take home tests. If you need help, she will be happy to help. You do not have to wait that long to get a response from an email, if you wanted to ask questions. She is very nice and caring. There's some extra credit opportunities. If you do all of the work, you should get an A or B. Take good notes!

Take her if you can. Tests are take home, but don't forget to do the tests. Out of the 3 take home tests, the lowest grade is dropped. Class is well structured and Prof Stankovich is super nice and approachable. Easy A if you put in a little effort.

Attendance isnt important except for days that you either are giving a speech, getting a take home test, or turning in a test Grade is basically 4 speeches and three take home tests follow exactly what she says and youll get an A

Stankovich is an easy A, all you have to do is show up and take notes. She is very passionate about what she lectures on, and she really cares about her students. All exams are take-home and open-note. Be sure to show up for the group assignment days (I forgot what they were called) or else you will miss out on easy points.

Stankovich is amazing! She is a funny & caring professor. You will need the textbook for her tests, but all of her tests are take-home. There's one essay at the end of the semester but it's based on class-learned skills so it's easy. Attend class so that you don't miss skill practices but either way she makes the class worth attending. I loved her!

I have learned so many life lessons about becoming a better communicator and how to overcome conflicts. There are 3 take home exams and one final paper. However, when it comes to grading of the speeches, shes a tough grader. A little ultra stingy. Dings points for littlest things and outlines are graded very tough. Still a good choice

Show up to class, and pass. 4 Speeches and nothing else. She has very useful lectures and group activities that will help you on the speeches. She is very honest and straightforward with lectures, which is fantastic. She makes great use of lectures and her experiences as examples, Do's and Don'ts, and what she expects on every speech. TEACHER OF THE YEAR! I was stoked that she let me take her class since it was already full, and I was number two or three on the waiting list. After continuing to show up to course, the persistence paid off. She is the most excellent teacher you can take. Helpful, beyond words. She takes the time to make sure you do well in her class. COMM 5 Amazing professor. With the transition to online classes she couldn't have made taking an online Comm class easier. There are discussion board posts every week, with the exception of having essays for 2 of the weeks instead of a discussion board post. Getting good grades in this class is easy all you need to do is follow the instructions!

I LOVED THIS CLASS & PROF STANKOVICH SO MUCH! She is so casual and taught me so much. I also took her comm 1 class and was lucky enough to get her in person for both these classes before covid. Im sure she is just as great online but if you get the chance to get her in person shes the best! I still use so much of what she taught me.

Very easy class! Barely any homework, one little easy paper and just a small final test at the end. Took the online class and it was the easiest class I have ever taken. 100% recommended. She also gives out extra credit. Just do your homework and youll pass, homework takes 5min.

Professor Stankovich's Communication 5 course: Interpersonal Communication is such an eyeopening course. I originally took the course to gain my Associate and I leave with a very clear and concise understanding of what it means to be Mindful, use Assertiveness effectively, and how to be a responsive listener.I highly recommend this professor.Enjoy!

if you are planning on taking comm5 take it with her she is funny,super laid back,. she doesn't accept late work because she gives you plenty of time to get assignments done. the final is the essay that she assigns early on so you have plenty of time to do it. Quizzes are online&open book/notes. super fast at responding to emails. fun lectures.

I genuinely liked taking her class, she has many assignments that are useful for the real world. She has videos for certain lectures. She gave 1 super easy extra credit assignment. Extremely light discussion boards, respond to 2 ppl. Tests can be taken in multiple sittings, it isn't timed. She gives you plenty of time to complete them.

If you want an easygoing online class, take this one, with this professor! Her lecture videos are amazing and give summaries of the chapter notes. There's one discussion per week and only three exams, but they're fairly easy if you read the material given. She has two extra credit opportunities, which are also really easy.

Took this as an online 6 week summer class & this class was very doable! She is one of the best professors and she gave very good lectures. Her discussion boards were also fun to do. She truly taught me how to be a better communicator and to understand the meaning of it. Please do yourself a favor and take her!

Took this class online over the summer, and is by far the easiest class I've ever had. One discussion post a week and a final. Spent not even an hour on this class a week and still retained a lot of the information I learned. Overall great experience. Highly recommend if you need communication credits.

No homework, assignments are in class practices of communication tactics. CANNOT MAKE UP MISSED PRACTICES. 3 exams, she drops lowest score (don't need to do final if you did good on first 2 exams). She's super funny, gets the class engaged. She's also easily distracted but still relevant. XC offered. Super fun class, very helpful info and skills!

Three exams (the lowest one will be dropped) and one essay constitute most grades. Open book and no time limit, however, you will not be able to find most of the answers online. Make sure you go through the online textbook and class notes/videos. And make sure you "communicate" with her when you struggle. It's a communication class after all.

Best teacher I have met in years!

She is very practical and considerate and assigns light and easy work that still connects to the class but incorporates interesting topics! She expects you to get your work in on time but that is no problem at all. Her exams are untimed and are reflective of the lectures to the point where its exactly what you need to know. You can also use notes.

Sweetest Professor I have had in a while. I really enjoy each assignment as i have been using it in my daily life. She is really communicative (as it is a communications class lol). Make sure to get your assignments done on time! Otherwise great class:)

TAKE THIS CLASS! She is the most funny, relatable and intellectual professor I've had so far in my college career. Her class is very straight-forward: lectures most days, ~6 skill practices (HAVE to attend for credit) and 3 easy exams based on her lectures and textbook on canvas. This course was very fascinating & will help w/ your social life.

Professor Stankovich's COMM5 course is a gem. The work is light yet engaging, and her exams are open-book and untimed - a perfect blend of rigor and flexibility. unstuck ai proved invaluable for exam prep, complementing the lecture materials.

Professor Stankovich is the best Communications teacher you can ask for. Public speaking is not my strong suit, but she made sure that her classroom was a welcoming environment for people of all comfort levels in public speaking. Grades come primarily from the 4 in-class speeches as well as 3 untimed quizzes that have a long window to complete.

Professor Stankovich has an amazing sense of humor and makes the class an utter joy to participate in. The exams are easy and open-book, and she even drops the lowest score. There is plenty of time for the single paper. Her lectures are hilarious, and genuinely helpful for life outside the classroom. She is always willing to chat with students!

Prof. Stankovich is an ANGEL . I love her and her class was such a breeze. I got an A just by simply completing the assignments. As long as you check Canvas 2x a week you will be absolutely just fine. She cares about you and wants you to pass!! She emails you to give you a heads up on due dates too! If you take COMM5, DEFINITELY choose Professor Stankovich. She's incredibly kind and truly wants students to succeed. The class is easy (light homework load), with plenty of extra credit, and very informative. I still use what I learned in my daily life! Thank you Professor Stankovich!!

Absolutely amazing class. I accidently missed the first two assignments and still ended with an A. Really kind and enthusiastic Professor. Good(and easy) extra credit opportunities! Most of the class are easy discussion assignments that are kind of fun.
