Took him for bio 212 and he is the best at explaining the ecosystems and bio in general. He is clear and if you need help he WILL help you! Class is not difficult,keep up with your reading and you will be ok. I used my book a lot but its a very fun and interesting class. We took trips as well!

Doctor Morris is awesome! In order to do well in his class, students must attend class as well as reading the textbook chapters to chapters. His exams cover mostly what he lectured during class. I love all of the field trips in this class. They are all meaningful and very exciting.

Dr. Kimo Morris is theee best biology professor ever!! He is extremely helpful, will take his time to explain if you have any questions, and will answer to the best of his ability. I found him to be quite humorous as well. Passionate about his job, as well he should be, its Bio! His class might be challenging but is well worth it.

Dr. Morris is an awesome structor. The class by no means is a easy class but taking it with him is the best choice you'll make. Hes funny, and inspires you to take an interest in Bio even become more involved. He truely lives and breaths this subject. HE IS TOO AWESOME AND SAC is lucky to have him. Gives a really great lecture and is crystal clear. Makes a horrible topic tolerable. Pay attention, take notes, read the book, you will get an A. Not the easiest teacher but certainly one of the best.

This professor is fun, intelligent, inspiring and you simply gain more knowledge. He does leave homework after homework, the tests include a lot of info so it's better if you take a recorder or your iPhone, the quizzes are easy, fieldtrips are fun but tiring..

If you are looking for a bio 212 professor, I highly recommend Dr. Morris. Has experience out in the field actually doing biology. He will test the crap out of you, give you tons of quizzes, and overwhelm you with labs and powerpoint presentations. But you are getting the same level of difficulty as his former UCLA class. Awesome class cool prof.

I took Doc M's bio 109 class and he is just as passionate about this subject.He really knows his stuff and his teaching method truly keeps you engaged. Dr. Morris will help you understand biology in it's totality from the simplest organisms to the most complex. You will learn to appreciate and love the ecology and you will become enthusiastic about wanting to change political decisions related to our planet. Not an easy class because of all the taxonomy, but definitely fun and interesting! Don't bother buying the textbook because he pulls from zoology textbooks, not Campbell. Practicums are pretty hard, but not too bad to study for. Lots of field trips. Got an A, but he is kind of disorganized and talks about himself a lot, but take 214 here, not SCC!

This is hands down the best class i have ever taken. The professor is extremely passionate about marine biology and it rubs off on you. Lectures are VERY interesting and lots of field work during lab, which is great! The text book is not needed, record lectures and re-listen to them! Study lab material after every class, helps for the practicum!

Professor Morris LOVES biology and he is an amazing professor-- the best bio teacher I have ever had. There are a bunch of fun & relevant field trips and you will learn a ton. Definitely take him if you can.

REALLY cool class. You have to try in the class but nevertheless it is fun! A lot of cool field trips and hands on activities that help you understand concepts in the class. I really enjoyed biology this semester. Doctor Morris really cares about his students. He's approachable and go to SI it helps :)

This class is a must take. By all means it is not easy but it is worth the effort! Morris is very helpful and cares a lot not only about the subject but about his students! His enthusiasm rubs off on you and you will find yourself being interested in the subject. The field trips are so hands-on and he prepares you for real bio world work!

1010: Best way to pass any Doc M classes; attend all, do the quizzes, and audio record lectures. You work, but if you're diligent, it's super easy. Marine Bio is his expertise and PhD: if you're not big on chem or physics, take this. Organisms are HUGE, and water characteristics. Doc M is SUPER enthusiastic tho, so its all worth.

He's the best teacher I ever took! I want to join more classes because of him! I learned so much and love that he's passionate about Marine life and what we can do to help! Best teacher!

Professor Morris is a very nice guy he takes the time to provide great examples to make Bio seem easy, his grading criteria is fair and his always there to help you. I really enjoyed his last 3 lectures about the ecosystem and what we as humans are causing the planet. I enjoyed learning Bio even though it's not my major i really enjoyed the class.

I took this professor because of rate my professor. I had previously taken biology in person and failed the class miserable with another professor at sac. His quizzes are great and he allows a retest on them. test are good if you use the study guide and turn in assignments are easy and informative. I actually enjoyed this class and learned a lot.

Good teacher. There are weekly quizzes. Stay on top of them because they can pile up. If you do not prep and study you will struggle and probably not pass the class. 2 documentary assignments which are relatively easy. Fair amount of extra credit offered.

Proly the best prof at sac. I think this dude really cares a lot about us students. Real glad I took his class - I feel like a better person. There is a lot of work but its not too hard as long as you keep up. Most def knows his field. Take Morris.

Dr. Morris was so passionate about everything from the topic to teaching his students. It really shows that he cares so much. I felt so inspired about everything in the class even though it seemed like there was so much material to study for. I would take all his classes because he's a really amazing teacher. I wasn't expecting to like this class cause it was online and bio is not my major. But it turned out to be one of my favorite classes ever. Dr. Morris knows his bio and is very passionate about it, which inspired me to want to learn more and study harder. He's really nice and cool and helpful. Exams were hard but quizzes allow 2 tries. Dr. Morris is amazing and simply one of the best professors. Don't worry if you are hard-working. You have to study and memorize A LOT to get all of the taxonomy into your head. So, DO work on your memorization skills beforehand. This is a good class for you if you plan to transfer to a 4-year uni in terms of challenges and abundance of info.

I recommend taking at least one of his Bio classes. You will walk away with a whole new outlook on life. He loves what he does at it shows!

He's passionate, and it shows. Lectures are fun and keep you engaged. There are weekly quizzes to test your knowledge. 4 tests, 1 is a cumulative final. Two documentary assignments which are fun and easy. Participation matters; you are required to post weekly on a discussion board. I would recommend this class; it's the perfect amount of work.

Not just a good teacher but really even a better person. He really cares about what he is teaching and his class is FUN and Interesting! Really is! Learned a lot about how we are destroying the planet and need to help preserve it. I had mon lab w/a diff proff she was cool too. But Kimo's class was the most interesting for sure! Dr. Morris is great and very inspirational. This is one of my top classes taken in college. Material is heavy so you need to spend a lot of your time studying. Start the project early because you will run out of time if your busy. The lectures were amazing and made you think deeply. Labs were fun especially field trips and we applied our knowledge.

I took Kimo for the online Bio 109 class and it was awesome. He posts videos of himself going over the lectures, so it is just like sitting in class. The Powerpoints are engaging and informational. Everything you need is basically on those, but definitely read to brush up on subjects. It was a really nice online class to take.

His Marine Biology class was very challenging. You definitely need to study a lot to ace his exams. Questions from the online quizzes are exactly the same on the exams and final, so study those quizzes well. No homework assigned from the textbook, just show up to class and don't leave early because he'll reveal future test question answers.

He really does care about his students. By far one of my favorite professors. He actually makes you love the Ecology and marine side of biology. He's inspirational, and very fair when it comes to grading. I recommend this class to Biology/science majors!

His class is actually interesting and he makes his lectures fun to listen to. He is super easy to talk to and nice. You can tell he cares about his students and loves what he does for a living. Everything you need to turn in is on Blackboard and he gives you so much time to complete it. I enjoyed this class and recommend it to others :)

I took the online class, Dr. Morris is extremely intellingent and yet approachable. He answers emails quickly. There is a lot of work, I had to drop another intensive class in order to keep up. He makes biology fun and it is very interesting but a lot of memoralization. He is a fair grader, I would definetely take him again, he is a gem!

Online class, but a great one. Took the time to make comprehensive lecture videos, complete with power points, direct links to the FREE online textbook he uses, and optional material for those who are interested. Loads of aquarium visits for EC, easiest and most interesting Biology class I've ever taken.

Took Dr. Morris online Bio 109 class. The lectures were informative, visually appealing and even had humor. I haven't taken science in years and Dr. Morris made this process enjoyable and informative.

I didnt personally meet Professor Morris but I took his 8 week online class and found it to be very fun! I wasnt ever a person to care about this material but his lectures were great and insightful. Be sure to take advantage of the extra credit (its fun too!) and review the material before quizzes/exams. Thank you for being awesome!!

OMG, Doc Morris is the most entertaining prof at SAC. I admit I got choked up in the last lecture when he makes you take an oath to help the ocean. Not an easy class. Cant miss class and make a study group. Labs are fun with a different prof. Most def would take another class from Doc Morris. Take this marine bio class instead of Bio 109!!!

I took Prof. Morris for Environmental Biology and his class will always be memorable. He loves to teach and makes class entertaining. I learned a lot while having a good time. He is straightforward but you have to put in the work to get a good grade. There are opportunities to get extra credit and put more emphasis on lecture info. Take him!

This class was great! Prof. Morris makes the material fun and it is straightforward. There are quizzes that are done weekly and two exams. The field trips are very fun and if you read as well as focus on the lecture material then you will be fine. Take him if you can.

Dr. Morris in an excellent professor. He is passionate about our environment and teaching. It is a tough subject especially if it's not your major. Tough exams and not enough time to complete them in my opinion. I did learn a lot in this class and I did enjoy learning about basic biology.

The class itself was a large amount of work. His lectures dont always follow the text (I did find that some info even contradicted). The exams are a bit hard but it was easily my favorite class he works in the field so he knows his stuff. I heard the last lecture made some cry but I fell asleep tbh because I had stayed up cramming for the final lol

He's extremely passionate about what he teaches and definitely very knowledgable. His lectures are interesting for the most part. Tests are extremely difficult though and he is a tough grader. He does have a few extra credit opportunities throughout the semester though. You really have to work for a good grade in this class.

Everything about this class was reasonable except the exams. Quizzes he is flexible on due dates and 2 attempts, but exams were extremely difficult and you only have about 1 min per question and 90 questions. Extra credit is offered which helps a lot and is fair. I learned a lot from his lectures, class only has two homework assignments.

Take him. You wont regret it. I came across an old lecture recording (which by the way are very helpful in his class) and I just wanted to stop by and say that this professor is amazing! Hes very passionate about teaching and this course teaches you a lot while still having fun. Highly encourage, you wont regret it! Best professor on campus.

Very inspirational in what he does and makes you feel the same way! I ended up switching my major to Marine Bio after this class. But I had to work VERY hard for my grade. Some info he says in his lectures contradicts the book, but always go with what he says in lecture over the text. I never missed class because I actually looked forward to it!

Professor Morris is the best! He is so passionate about his field of study and it really shows. He does great lectures but they're information-heavy so record lectures and listen to them later. Also, it might be easy to forget about the textbook, but that info is fair game on quizzes/tests. Don't take this class at SCC like people say! Morris rocks

Best lectures you could ever ask for. Emails are always super informative. To do well in this class, you should always prioritize the lectures. Rewatch them constantly. Read the textbook as review.

His lectures are the best. I wouldn't have passed without them. You MUST watch the lectures to do well on test. I took his 8 week course, and it is a lot of work, but manageable. He is always in communication with the class and responds to emails right away. He makes learning Bio fun and is a great professor. Highly recommend. Offers extra credit.

You won't be able to pass this class without participation. Heavy lectures with lots of information so consider to record his lectures. He's really nice so don't be afraid to ask him when you get stuck. He takes attendance so don't skip class! His exams and final are not as hard as you think when you work hard!

Definitely a difficult class but Dr. Morris is the best professor. He has great lectures and makes learning interesting. You MUST listen to every lecture. Lots of test questions come from the lectures. Tests are difficult and lots of reading, but it was an accelerated course, so I didn't expect it to be easy. Proctored tests, so study!!

NON-BIO MAJORS!: Only take this class if you're really willing to put in the effort. Dr. Morris seems cool, but his class is extremely time-consuming. Start on things early. Watch all the lectures, skim the book. Make sure you know how to contact Proctorio. His free responses are hard. He's very passionate though, his final lectures are the best.

Three midterms and a final (and 16 timed quizzes) for a 8-week summer class is a lot. Midterms and final are timed and proctored (time is very limited). His lectures were fine and easy to understand, and his tests include materials from the lectures and notes. He gives a good amount of extra credit because people do not do well on the tests.

Prof. Morris's lectures are awesomely interesting, but tests are super difficult. If you have problems with this class, talk to him, ask him questions, email him. He's always available. He's passionate about marine life. I had low grades on the tests, but since he offers extra credit, I was able to get an A. So do the extra credit and go to his OH.

Dr. Morris was a very nice guy, but his tests were incredibly hard for me. I took his 2 month summer class and managed to pass with a C. If youre great at studying, I suggest this class because you will learn a lot from him. If youre not, find someone else.

Dr. Morris is one of the most wonderful professors that I've had the privilege to learn from. His lectures and lab sessions are very informative and exciting to experience, especially the field trips that he takes his classes on. Exams are fairly difficult, overall BIOL 212 is a very fun class. Would take it again if I could!

DrMorris is one of the best professors the biology department has to offer. His lectures are interesting and are able to help one understand the concept he's disccusing. However, this is an 8 week course. So be ready to study the lectures since he uses proctorio on exams and the final and they are a good portion of your grade.

Warning; do not take if 8-week course w/busy schedule. Love biology, but this was a hard class to take. 4 lectures per 2 weeks (1 hour or more). Quizzes based on lectures so can't really look them up. But, knows his stuff and taught really well. Great quality and understanding about workload if email him in advance. Exams proctored though.

Even though it was my first time taking a college course as a high school student, his lectures were amazing. There were many quizzes and tests to take since it was a summer course, overall, it was easy and he really cares for his students. Nice professor!!

I took the 4-week course, which was rigorous but easy to follow. I am glad I decided to take this course with Professor Morris because he provided everything. Expect a lecture, textbook reading, and quiz every day, Plus one midterm exam at the end of the week and two essay assignments. Just keep up with the daily work and the class will fly by.

Dr Morris is a great professor. He is passionate about the subject matter and wants us to actually learn something from the class. This course will take time and effort. Take notes on the lectures and utilize the supplemental material and you'll do fine

Ended up with a C, not because of the professor, but because I've always struggled with biology. That said, the professor was very straightforward with lectures, videos, and textbook material. Everything was clearly laid out, which made the class manageable. It was actually a fun course, and I'd retake it just for the structure and teaching style.

Good Professor, Biology is not my thing and tests are a lot, but a overall good instructor.
