Much note taking and readings/worksheets in class but nothing hard...he makes everything simple and interesting. Even ties in some Texas history. His exams are all MC; but you must study. All of the questions come straight from the info given and anything/everything can be used. Good prof.

If you expend effort, you will not only learn quite a bit, but he will work with you if problems arise. Extremely fair, and gives extra credit for everyone.

I felt as if he was a lazy professor. He never used the textbook except for when you have use it to fill out review sheets for tests. The tests are 50 multiple choice questions. The study material for each test is about 10 fill-in-the-blank sheets, a review sheet for 5 chapters in the textbook, and any notes. He's alright.

Great Teacher. He gives you a study guide review at the library for every test. Class lectures are not long, but helpful and interesting. He gives extra credit for every test, and curves so that the highest grade is always a 100. He is very understanding, all you need to do is talk to him and respect him. Professor Bane has been one of my favorite professors. His lectures are clear and his note are helpful. The lecture notes will be verbatim on the test as well as the class/home work you will do. Bane also provides you with an extra credit opportunity with ever exam you take, so it is pretty much impossible to fail his course! It was interesting!

I had him for Texas History 2301 at 9:00AM lets just say it was a great way to start my morning! He really gets into his lectures and makes little jokes. His quizzes are all open notes so super easy and his exams are closed notes but if you listen in class you'll be fine.

Texas History with Professor Bane is easy if you study. Make sure you write down all the notes he writes on the board, if its written down it will be on the test. His saying is, "If it's on the board, it's fair game." Beyond Myths and Legends textbook is required if you want to pass his class.

You are required Beyond Myths and Legends which tests questions go over and then "A Lone Star Reader" which you only need if you want extra credit( i recommend it either way theres some cool articles in it). Even though i had a low grade (my fault) id take his class again!

If you have the chance to take him, DO IT. His lectures are so interesting (about past and current Texas culture) and he is so caring. I had Proffesor Bane this past semester and he is a very passionate proffesor. He enjoys what he teaches and makes class interesting, but the test are almost impossible to take. Even though the material you have to study is exact word for word for what's going to be on the test, you have to memorize at least 300 terms for each.

The most amazing professor I have ever had. He gives great lectures that are hard to ignore. Taking thorough notes is a must! Don't skip class. He made this class so interesting. He gives extra credit papers for each test, but they are not hard at all. If you need this class, TAKE DR. BANE!

Professor Bane's class was one of my favorites so far!! Would take him again! Come to class because he lectures everyday and his notes are needed for the tests! he gives a course packet with tons f questions he will pull from for tests. If you come to class and do your course packet and study its an EASY A . i had 3 exams that were 100 questions.

Bane is a great teacher & is very clear on the info for exams. Lots of material for the exams: anything on board is fair game, worksheets in class and material from out-of-class HW packet, but exam questions are straight forward. Quizzes are open note. Extra credit offered for each exam. Would 100% recommend Bane to any student.

Professor Bane is an awesome professor. You have quizzes over your notes during the semester. His exams are 100 questions multiple choice. There is A LOT of information you have to learn, but if you are good with memorization, it shouldn't be a problem. Attendance is taken every day. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE NIGHT BEFORE TO STUDY, THERE IS TOO MUCH!!

The tests in this class are basically all memory but every question is straight from notes and readings. Make quizlets and you'll be fine! If you miss class, you will get behind. Since the only grades are quizzes (open note) and tests, studying is really important. He's passionate about history and very fun to listen to. Highly recommend.

This class is fairly easy BUT you HAVE to study. The tests are basically all information on the in AND out of class worksheets, textbook reading questions, and in-class notes so memorize it ALL. Altogether if you were to make a quizlet it's like 400+ terms so start studying EARLY. Quizzes are open notes. No other grades ONLY test and quizzes

Professor Bane is amazing! He gives really interesting lectures but if you dont go to class you will miss some stuff. The test is pretty much all memory so make sure you know dates and how to spell names, but overall its a pretty easy class if you put in the effort.

Best Professor I have ever had!! His lectures are amazing and made sure that everything he talked about in class stuck in your head. Sometimes I would even leave his class wanting to look further into the topics because they were so interesting. Tests are not hard as long as you study and do the work he tells you to do. Overall an amazing prof!!

Bane is an awesome professor but there is a lot of material on the exams so you need to begin studying 3/4 days in advance. As long as you show up to class and keep all your worksheets you'll get 100's on the quizzes. Do the extra credit for the exams even if you are confident because at the end of the semester he helps students who help themselves

Bane is one of the best profs I had throughout my college experience so far. His test can be a little difficult but if you go to lecture, take good notes, and study the out-of-class assignments, you'll do great. His grades are made up of quizzes (open note) and tests.

His texts are 100 mult choice but he is very clear and tells you exactly what to study. It is A LOT of material, so start early, not a class you can cram for. But the good thing is when you take the test, you have seen all of the questions before, you just need to memorize them. Questions are a combo of wrksheets, lecture, questions for txtbook

Dr. Bane's TX HIST class is my all-time fave history class. His lecture are always entertaining, and the tests are supereasy to do well on as long as you study. The tests have a LOT of material, but if you read the textbook & prof packet, you know almost exactly what could be on the test. LOTS of memorizing, but easy once you memorize the material.

Good prof overall. Lots of outside work needs to be done for the exams. Each exam is 100 questions and if you made a quizlet of everything it would be 400-600 terms long so start studying early! He loves Dallas and TX business history which is basically all the lectures are about. I now have a lot of random TX knowledge though which is lowkey cool

I absolutely loved this class, Professor Bane made his lectures interesting and enjoyable. The content learned in his class were things you actually want to learn about rather than boring history stuff. Lectures keep you engaged. Easy grades if you study the materials learned. Only reason I didnt get an A in the class was bc i bombed the first test

Kirk Bane is awesome. He makes it very clear on what you have to do to pass the course. The lectures are fun and entertaining and he does all the talking. He is one of the most structured professors I've ever had. I'm not gonna lie the tests require a lot of memorization but if you want the A bad enough then its easy enough to get. Good luck!

I absolutely love this man. He is such a good professor and really cares about his students. He lectures on interesting things about Texas History. He tells you exactly what is on his exams, but there is a lot to memorize. Everything on his exams can be found on Quizlet too! Take this class!!!!

One word, YES! Dr. Bane is my favorite professor that I have had thus far. His lectures were entertaining and had me excited for class. All questions from test are STRAIGHT from textbook and lectures. Follow his instructions and you will pass with flying colors. Corona cut his class short but man do I miss him! Ive always struggled with history but I look forward to his class. Everyday the lectures get better and better. He makes sure EVERYONE is clear on instructions. He truly loves his job and students. You will need to put in work, but nothing too complicated. Highly recommend taking this course. My family likes to read my notes after every class!

I enjoyed his zoom class and the notes were always short and sweet but also were related to today's world. Test are open book/notes if you participate in class. Professor Bane made passing his class easy. All you need to do is attend his zooms, participate in class and read. Literally that's it and you will get an A. His exams are straight out of the notes he provides and the readings from the books, there is no miss! I definitely recommend you take him for any of your History classes, you won't regret it!

He is energetic and excited to teach. He is lecture heavy and if you miss class you will not pass your exams. He does not require attendance, but make sure you go anyways! He will let you take exams open notes and open book if people attend class. There is lots of reading from the textbook, you literally read the entire thing.

Hes a good and knowledgable professor, he even co authored the book we use in class, my only gripe is that its one of those classes that has 4 exams and a final and thats it. I was finished from the start because I got an 80 on the first exam. Even after doing well on the rest I still ended up with an 88 i think
