Besmer is a cool guy! There are 2 quizzes worth 40% of your grade...the homework is worth 20% so do it! The final is worth 40%, review for this, and you'll do fine! Also, he looks at the ground when he talks, funny, funny guy! Certainly a character! Take him for 101, and 201 if you can. Liberal too

Your entire grade is made up of two exams and ONE tiny chunk of a homework grade. He doesn't even put your grades in until then of the semester which is terrible. He also just expects you to memorize what he thinks rather than to think for yourself, and if you miss class because you are sick he doesn't let you turn in homework

It is the end of the semester and he still hasn't put one grade in the grade book yet! He also only puts the midterm and final in, they are worth 75% of your grade, and the rest is just by one grading of homework. If you are sick and miss class, he won't let you turn a homework assignment in and don't know how to use canvas for that. He's awful.

Do not take him at all! There's a lot better Phil 101 professors out there.

I was dreading philosophy but I actually really liked it. He is really helpful in showing shortcuts on how to understand more complex topics that were at first confusing. There is homework for basically every class but it's not difficult and does not take long to complete. Don't get the textbook, we used it like twice and its not necessary at all.

It's the end of the semester and I have no idea what my grade is because he never put the two exams in the grade book. He is very selfish and expects you to just memorize what he thinks, even though it's philosophy. Do not take him at all!

You are only graded by two exams and one bit of homework which is absolutely ridiculous! The worst professor I have ever had.

If you get sick he won't let you turn in your homework and for some reason can't figure out how to let students submit an assignment through canvas so he never uses it. Selfish!

It is the end of the semester and I have no idea what my grade was in this class because he didn't post the grade! I don't know the logic behind it but literally throughout the whole semester he didn't put the mid term or the final in the grade book and he hid our class on canvas so we can't see our grades!!!! Do not take him, he is difficult!

He's a cool person but your grade is pretty much based off of two exams which is ridiculous and not beneficial at all.

He's engaging but you are only graded by two exams which I think is wrong since this class is reasoning and there are definitely better philosophy 101 professors out there. I don't recommend him at all.

He doesn't put anything in the grade book except for two exams. He won't post your grade until the end of the semester and you can't even see it until after grades are posted so he just keeps the scores from you.

The worst professor by far, you won't know what your grade is the whole semester and he only grades two exams! That's ridiculous for a philosophy class especially since it can be seen in so many different ways! Don't take him!

He won't put a grade in the grade book throughout the whole semester and when grades are due he will hide the course on canvas so you will not know what your grade is, and your grade is mostly based on 2 exams which is absolutely insane. He's selfish! Do not take him

Dr. Besmer is very nice and funny but his course is difficult, especially for first years. Homework is a small portion of your grade, yet there's daily homework. Your grade is largely determined by the midterm and final. Additionally, he does not put grades into Canvas until grades are due. It is possible to do well but it's difficult for a 101
