Prof. Daykin is a solid choice for CH 101. As long as you pay attention during the lectures and take good notes, you should be fine in the class. She tends to go pretty fast which requires you to look over some of the material outside of class, but that's expected. Homework and the top hat review questions are super helpful to fully grasp concepts.

Dr. Daykin is a very good professor. Chemistry is a harder subject and you do have to try to do well, but her lectures are helpful and her tests reflect what was taught in class. The only downside is that you do answer "tophat questions" for attendance credit right after you learn a topic but the powerpoints and questions are online the day before.

Dr. Daykin seems like a nice professor, but her teaching is awful. You can attempt to use her office hours, but she is rude and doesn't help. The class grade depends on tests with no curve. She believes she is a good professor because kids do well, but actually they are just smart already. Engineering and biology majors beware RIP periodt.

Compared to the rest of the chemistry department, Daykin is a very solid choice. She gives practice tests on WebAssign for extra credit before tests. Though she does use Top Hat and randomly takes attendance, the questions on there are very helpful to understanding topics. Just pay attention to the lectures and you'll do well.

Professor Daykin is a great teacher and you can tell that she knows what she is talking about. I took this class with a 4 on the AP exam because I wanted a refresher before I started organic. I don't think I would be doing as well if I had not had such a good high school teacher. Do the test reviews for extra credit and come to class and study and it shouldn't be too hard to do well.

Great professor! Sticks to the powerpoint slides and actually teaches the material. Based on the opinions of my friends taking CH 101 with a different professor, Daykin is 100% the best out of all of them. The homework she assigns on webassign actually helps you prepare for the exams and she always gives out practice exams before the actual one.

Dr. Daykin doesn't believe in curving grades and doesn't seem to understand that CH101 is a prereq for many majors, not just chemistry. She is just using CH101 as a stepping stone to teach higher level chem. Daykin has honestly been the worst teacher I've had to date. For the entire semester we were behind so her lectures were constantly rushed and confusing and when she was asked a question, she ignored it and simply said to watch the recording. She treated students as though they weren't good enough to learn and never once seemed to care about us.

Not a good teacher. Wont allow people to ask questions openly in class, always scared of people cheating, speaks in a passive aggressive tone, and most importantly doesnt know how to take a deep breath and relate to people with lesser knowledge. Dr Kramer is a decent professor, but she just does not explain a lot of concepts well. She goes over all of the content but the way she explains stuff is not the easiest way to solve it, like I will look up a YouTube video and it will make way more sense than she does. Not the worst though, tests are easy.
