Talks too fast, writes too fast. Difficult to keep up, in her class. Can't make out the spelling. Don't wait for the last minute to study for her class. You will need to know the material...know the material!

Likes what she teaches and will help if u go to her office hrs early friday morning. Tests aren't very hard but can get tricky, study what is on the study guide and u'll do alright.

She's a great prof...very hard though! I wont miss a class, you get so far behind. Very helpful, but tests are extremly hard. Be happy if you get a C in this class. Take it with a diff prof, unless you like a challenge.....and i mean CHALLENGE!

She's nice and a good teacher. Her handwriting is a mess though! The class is hard and don't expect much higher than a C! If you work REALLY hard you can pass though.

Very organized, very clear in lectures, but very hard!! All about the math. 50 minutes to take a 40 question test, and every questions requires 2 minutes of calculations. = impossible. I passed with a D! If you can call that passing.

Great teacher. Uses real life examples to explain the concepts. Gives you study sheets before each exam. If you know whats on the sheet, you'll do fine on the exams. Lots of math equations and graphing but she provides a lot of practice.

Great prof! always willing to help makes time if office hours don't suit. Had 21% in class w/ different prof, got B+ in Madden's. Tough material explains it extremely well, gives tons of examples, do the classwork and ask for help you'll get a good grade

I had her class at 8am and cut all the time because she didn't take attendance. I was doing poorly and she made a personal deal with to actually count attendance for just me so I would come to class. I did and passed! Thanks KM!

Wow. I've never had a college course that went by this quick. She knows her stuff and gets right down to it. Tough but worth every second of it.

If you need an energentic teacher shes the one to pick, i don't think ive ever seen anyone asleep in her class. Though her tests aren't that easy.

Ridiculously difficult, writes super fast, I worked like a dog in that class. She will push you hard. I got a C, but damn did I learn. You have to wonder when the first three letters of a persons name are MAD.... If not for the grade I would take her again....she kicks ass.

This prof is def very demanding and hard. ended up w/ a C+ in her class but I have never learned nearly as much in any of my econ classes. She gives TONS of examples to try to help you understand. Definitely is not boring at all. I recommend!

Favorite professor EVER! She rocks. Very helpful in putting what she is teaching into every day prospective. Take any of her classes that you can. If you don't mind working to earn your grade, you'll LOVE her! She's definitely the best around!!!

Hard as hell! Toooooooo much work. Don't know how in the heck I passed her class. Funny, I still remember most of the material. Ok I still think she is awsome. I would take her again only because I am into pain, and I don't mind the B or C. Learned a lot in this class.

Lots of homework to help pull your grade up from the hard exams. Go to class, pay attention, read the book for definitions. She's available for help frequently.

Madden is so passionate about what she teaches and tries to give the best examples and analogies. She made class really interesting despite the topics and always held study sessions and office hours for anyone who needed help. Take advantage of that and study a week before the exams and you will do fine.

she's a good teacher. she does activities in class to help us learn. there are review sessions before every exam. i'd take her again.

Best teacher on campus. Loves to teach, loves her students, works super hard and long hours. I learned more from her than any other professor ever. She does talk fast and move fast, so see her if there is some point you missed along the way.

Keeps you on your feet and is an all around great professor. Warning: She moves very quickly, and her lectures never have a stopping point.

Really a great teacher, but be prepared to do a lot of reading and other work outside of class if you plan on recieving a B or higher.

Macro class was very difficult. She is a GREAT professor and is great when you need a helping hand. Unfortunately,you will need help a lot. Her tests are extremely hard and the comment about decieving questions is true. Still, great professor and if I need to take the class again, I will take it with her.

Dr. Madden is very nice and energetic. She tries to make sure you understand everything and offers a lot of help. But, she is VERY tough with exams. You are gonna work a lot with her, so get ready.

madden is very nice and always trying to help if you need it. test are CRAZY hard, no extra credit, no curves, limited homework. if you are a bad test taker, id change the teacher. heard she is the easiest econ teacher here. go to class EVERY day or you'll miss alot. she moves VERY fast. a chapter or so a week. 4-5 chapters covered on one test.

Dr. Madden loves her material. She moves incredibly fast. I consider her to be biased, but you'll have to make your own decision there. Will help students outside of class, but doesn't like slowing down in class. Overall, she is an extremely nice prof who want her students to understand the material...I'm just not sure that they do.

Seminar should be mandatory for all Economics majors. The work load is heavy because you are writing a 'thesis'. Madden will give you all the time you want outside of class. Very rewarding class. Start early, stay on top of things, and be prepared to learn how to write...

Really really tough, reading and writing intensive.. it should be considered a Writing class, but isn't. It's like she doesn't care or realize you have 4 other classes and gives you homework that takes like 7 hours to do. It's a LOT of work. a LOT. I don't really recommend taking her...she is really fast paced.

4 problem sets + 3 exams + final= grade. mandatory attendance. lectures the whole time. puts notes up on projector for you. study problem sets!! don't really need the book as long as you buy the study guide. always keeps a copy of book in library if you don't buy it though. good for use outside of class. has study sessions once or twice a week.

She made economics fun! I enjoyed going to this class. Despite what others have said, I thought the class was relatively easy. You just need to study and get help if you don't understand something. She cares about her students and makes a point to learn everyone's name! Plus: She's a vegetarian!

Probably one of the nicest ladies you'll ever meet. Class is a challenge, but it's college, so get over it. If you ever don't understand something, contact her in any way shape or form and she'll help you to the point where it is crystal clear.

Dr. Madden is a great lady. shes funny really cool and makes the class fun. Shes extremely nice and she really knows her stuff inside and out. She moves fast so pay attention. her notes can be difficult to follow at times but dont let that scare you. shes a great teacher and will go the extra mile to make sure you know the material. DO THE HOMEWORK

Very nice professor. Very helpful outside of class. However, I must warn you. unless you are VERY good at math and analyzing charts, be prepared to study your butt off. She goes through the material way too fast and tries to cram 2 weeks of stuff into 1 lecture. For the mathematically inclined, you should be fine. If not, find another professor.

Excellent professor with genuine personality. Bends over backwards to help her students. Very clear in her expectations. Test are very difficult. Do the practice homeworks and dont miss class.

Class can be difficult. She told us the avg was a C across the course. She is a great teacher though! Knows her stuff and is passionate about it. She's always trying to find examples to help you understand. Open book Open note tests will either help you if your organized or kill you. Def Recommend her!

Dr. Madden is the most passionate professor I've ever come in contact with. If you go to class, take good notes, and study them, the class shouldn't be bad for you. But, STUDY THEM. Her notes are extremely important for her tests, which are difficult. Listen to what she says. She is always willing to help and genuinely wants her students to learn.

Dr. Madden is the best woman alive. Don't take her class if you don't want to learn. Period.

Kirsten is a very knowledgeable person. She wrote her own textbook, and it is genius. You have to work and be willing to learn in this class. I highly recommend taking her class. You also don't have to buy a textbook, which is always a bonus!

Dr. Madden is by far one of the best professors I've ever had! Not only are her lectures really interesting, but she is super helpful and encourages you to think with an open mind. Took her for Macroeconomics, and it was much easier than I expected. Don't have to buy a textbook, which is nice. Exams are multiple choice, and for me were pretty easy. Nice professor who seems willing to help.

Dr. Madden is great professor and is very passionate about what she teaches. Her class is a lot work and requires you to do a lot of out of class studying if you want to succeed. Read through the online textbook and do the practice questions, the practice questions will sometimes appear on the tests. The tests are difficult, but manageable.

Dr. Madden is like that nutty high school librarian, which is not a bad thing. Her lectures are exciting and keeps you interested. Gives a lot of homework, but if you do the homework and check the answer sheet before the test most of her questions from the homeworks are always on the test. Great professor!

Prof Madden is the best professor I had this semester. She gives very good lectures and she saves you $400 by writing her own textbook. As long as you follow along her lectures, take notes, and do the study problems in the text, youll do great. She is also very available outside of class for help.

Professor Madden is a fantastic professor with a deep breadth of knowledge about economics. She makes intro-level classes easy to approach and she is interested in the more human sides of Economics. If you do her homework and review the answer keys to that homework, youll do fine.

Dr Madden is tough in upper level courses. Our class averaged a 48% on the midterm. Trys to teach the material but can be disorganized. Very helpful though and is there for you. If you need macroeconomics take her but her upper division courses are insanely tough.

I was lucky enough to have Dr. Madden as a professor and an advisor during my time at Millersville. I had my last econ class with her, Econ 488, and I truly could not say enough nice things about her. Yes, she is tough, but it is because she cares more than any other professor I've had. She is truly the best professor out there!

She is an amazing person, my mother passed away this semester and she was very helpful on getting me caught up. Loved going to her office hours and asking for help definitely going to get another class with her.

Dr. Madden was an amazing professor! Her lectures were always super interesting. If you don't go to class/miss lectures, you may struggle in the class. Exams really test your critical thinking/analysis skills, but if you go to class and keep up with the readings/assignments outside of class, then you should easily pass.

I have had multiple classes with Dr. Madden, including econ 488. Having her as an econ 488 professor was the best thing for me because of her vast economic knowledge beyond mainstream economics. If you only rely on the lectures to learn the material, you will never get to form your own critical thoughts, which is what she really cares about.

Professor Madden makes Econ interesting. Her lectures are engaging, and she's super helpful outside of class. Using unstuck ai alongside the textbook was a game-changer for me. Tests are tough but manageable if you put in the work.

Took 101 and 102 with her and learned a lot. She really cares about you and your professional development. Econ classes are hard regardless of the instructor, but take her, because all the help she offers, and her teaching styles, cannot be found elsewhere.

I love her. I had her for econ 101 and 102. Most of your grade is from exams. If you show up to class and are engaged the whole time it's super easy, but if you miss class or don't pay attention it'll be hard for you. She gives out packets to follow along with the lecture which are suuuper helpful. And she explains things very clearly.

I felt that Dr Madden was a professor who wanted to see students succeed. Economics seemed like a pretty boring topic to me but she did her best to create engaging lectures. She also provided packets with note shells and gave plenty of practice problems, which mirrored the exams very closely.

She speaks in high level vocab, but do not let it scare you. she walks you through how to do problems at the base line level, and what she expects from you. She will provide multiple real life examples to make it clear. She is very accessible for office hours. I took her for macro loved it.

I liked Dr. Madden! She sets you up very well to succeed, giving lengthy notes with formulas and everything you need to do well. As long as you show up and pay attention the exams are not hard. Take advantage of the practice problems and answers in each module, because that's literally all the tests are. She also has a pretty fire music taste.

She made me more interested in learning more ECON. Easy to follow lectures with provided note outlines. Very clear about expectations and gives reminders about important upcoming dates. The only people who complain about this class being hard are the people who don't do the multiple choice problem set - the tests are EXACT questions from the sets.
