Hated him. Dry, boring, and talked about stuff that didn't relate to the course too much but yo were expected to know it.

Talked about everything but course related material. Instead of His. Amer. Ed. it became colonization of indiginous people and his views... If i wanted to take a class on that i would have signed up for it.

Dr. Holder is very African American oriented. I don't know that I had a chance of anything better than a B+, but it was okay. His class wasn't too tough.

All you have to do is show up and talk in class. I didn't take one page of notes the entire semester. He's very opinionated, but not too hard.

Extremely ignorant and opinionated! But I did not take one note, and never did the readings and got an A. If you don't care about learning, take him. But if you want to get anything out of the class besides a decent grade don't take him.

Easy if you can sit through it

This class was really easy - he gives everyone the same grade, and you can't really fail. DON'T answer questions in his class, keep your mouth shut, because even if your answer makes perfect sense he'll make you look like an idiot in front of everyone and pull a random 'correct' answer out of nowhere. This was the most pointless class EVER.

Oy... I can't complain too much; I got an A-. However, the class is quite boring and he makes no effort to amend that fact. It seems like he is only in it for the money, and he really doesn't care about... anything. I wouldn't say he's ****, but he does say things like "White Supremacy" often. I would LOVE to know how he got his doctorate.

Really easy class, he doesn't expect much at all, just that you attend and participate. sometimes he says things that are a little insensitive but whatever, its an easy A-

Go to class, it will help your grade. Books are used twice in the beginning then never again. He can be really mean for no reason but he thinks he's being funny. He totally makes up your final grade by how many requirements you completed. Didn't learn anything.

Dr. Holder basically lectures about his personal opinions on topics that sometimes aren't even relevant to History of American Education. His classroom environment was uncomfortable, and he wasn't helpful. But, you'll end up with an A if you show up.

Holder assigns a lot of reading, but I know many people, myself included, barely did any of it. He goes off on a lot of tangents, which isn't necessarily bad, because they're usually worthwhile or entertaining. Definitely, definitely show up and participate in discussions. I think we had maybe three quizzes and then one project.

Dr. Holder does not seem to care about his students. He does not know any of our names. Everytime you ask him a question he tells you to "leave him alone." He's very rude and frustrating when he takes points off tests for no reason. I would take a different professor honestly.

His classes are easy but this class is boring/annoying. He lectures the whole time and sometimes gets off topic. He focuses a lot on white-supremacy and slavery which is annoying because it never has anything to do with American Education. I learned more about slavery than American education.

He's an interesting guy, but you don't really learn a lot of stuff about education. He relates everything back to slavery/ white supremacy. Not a lot of work, just 3 quizzes and a project. Attendance/ Participation makes up a pretty big portion of your grade as well. If you show up and do all the requirements, you'll get an A-

Not clear on what the tests are about they kind of just happen. Lectures a lot but if it is something you are interested in it is interesting.

Took him for history of American education he doesnt use PowerPoint or give any notes talks a lot and its mostly off topic. Write down everything he says itll be on his quizzes it was an easy class. Dont except more than an 80 on your quizzes he said I wouldnt even get a 100 on my own quiz. Theres one paper and its confusing way too long.

As long as someone signs you into class youre good for attendance because youre not missing much anyways. Pretty funny guy but the most boring lecture ever. I learned absolutely nothing but the class was easy.

This class literally made no sense. I walked in ready to take notes. He had no powerpoints. He just talked. Even then I would attempt to take notes. He very often would go off-topic and talk about his grandchildren. He even has brought his grandchildren to class, which just distracts the whole class.

This professor will literally waste your time. He has a sign in sheet for attendance, and he spends the whole period straight talking. Honestly he just gives homework to make it seem like your learning and you will only use the textbook for about 5 chapters. The class is so boring and repetitive it drained me.

The professor is a nice guy but his class was very frustrating. He constantly contradicted himself with due dates and directions. He would assign things for homework then never go over or grade them. He grades heavily on participation but has no system of tracking it. He would forget which students participated, making the grading unfair.

A good person but a bad teacher. Had to take him for PCI so didn't even get to choose his as my professor. But I know other professors required a textbook for the class and he did not require any of that, so maybe he was an easier professor, but his grading was just very subjective and all over the place and god knows how he calculates your grade

do not take holder for your own sanity. if you like somewhat organized do not take him. granted this course is a guaranteed A/B but it is not worth it. he is mad rude, always asks vague questions looking for specific answers. he told us we needed two textbooks (1 you have to pay) that you dont need. I reached my limit, but more to say!!

not a bad class, but he grades on a vibe. if you go to class, try to answer questions, etc. you'll be fine, but ATTENDANCE MATTERS.
