Believe the hype, he is THAT good. Teixeira is far and away the best math professor at BMCC. He is crystal clear, friendly and encouraging, professional, and has a passion for teaching. I didn't see him make a single mistake on the board all semester. After Calculus II with him, I feel I can integrate anything and am very prepared for Calculus III.

Best Statistics Teacher! Dr.Teixeira is a passionate professor who really enjoys his job. As long as you study and do the homework you will pass. The test are fairly easy and the final project is a group project. If you have any questions he will do his best to help you understand. I recommend his class :)

OMG this professor is hilarious! Such a great personality. I think he missed his calling because he should have been a comedian! He really CARES about how you're doing. One of the best professors I've EVER had! He is so patient and he explains everything so clearly. I hate math and I thought I was going to hate the class, but Professor Teixeira made the almost 4 hours classtime worth-while and easy. The only problem is that he teaches mostly in the night, but it was worth the inconvenience. I got an A !

Prof. Teixeira is one of the best professors at BMCC. I do o.k in Math but was afraid this class would be diffult. However, Prof. teixeira makes statics seem so easy and goes above and beyond to ensure that you understand the material. His tests are easy and straightforward. Only complaint is that he only teaches night classes. Other than that, the best option for any math class.

Statistics is not easy subject but Prof. T will lead U to understand every single point. Some profs just care about the progress of their classes and it makes students fall behind and drop the class but Prof. T will make sure students follow what we are doing and what we're supposed to do. No collecting HW but U BETTER STUDY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD.

Study for his final hard even if you have a few other finals on the same day. You will not get an A in his class if you don't do well on the final even though you did well on all the exams.

He is nice not tricky, he gives review before test. Questions from test are simular to reviews or examples he did on class. You have enough time to do it. His explaination is clear. He encourages student to ask questions, but avoid to ask sth in precal or cal1,he will explain why in the class. Easy A, if you study. Reasonable and profeson.

Professor Teixeira is VERY SMART and nice professor. He is very fair to all students. Further, he taught us ethic in class, which is not many BMCC professors don't do it. AMAZING PROFESSOR! 3 tests worth 20% each and a final worth 40%. He's super helpful and he explains clearly, and he doesn't collect homework its mainly for practice. If you miss class you will be lost and confused especially since he basically does a lesson a day. You will not regret taking him! Easy A

BEST professor for intro to statistics!! I am currently in a WRITING INTENSIVE class that he has and it has been great! 3 tests, one final, and I also have a paper. Professor Teixeira is a great guy overall. He is very clear and concise in his explanation of statistics. I was worried before, even though I'm pretty competent at math, but he has made it crystal clear and I've performed well on each test, which is basically what your grade is based on. Professor Teixeira actually cares for his students to the point he gets to know you and calls you be your entire government name throughout the entire semester. His lectures are very clear and exams are fairly easy, just make sure to pay attention to his lectures and always attend his exam reviews. He is amazing. Got an A.

Calculus 2 is not an easy class but Prof Texeira works hard with you through his great lectures that make the material easy to understand! 4 exams total, great exam reviews but the final is cumulative which means you need to study in order to get that A! Math is not my best subject actually the thought of taking math especially when you hear the word statistics makes me nervous. This professor was GREAT. I took his class on a Friday night after work in my second trimester of pregnancy and I never felt the drag of not going. I looked forward to going. His teaching method is clear, he's graceful. A+

He explain everything thoroughly and gives you enough example on the topic dicussed so youll understand it. My only complain is that he starts slowly with easy (mean, median, etc.) topics, and then he rushes with hard topics (probability); and he lets students to talk unnecessarily.

Gives a review before each test. The homeworks given are more for extra help and not graded. The extra credit given can help boost your grade and he allows you to do it over if done incorrectly. Really enjoyed taking his class made learning statistics enjoyable and makes sure everyone understands before moving on to a new topic , Must attend class

Amazing professor! U will understand statistics very well with him! 3 tests and a final and trust you will have enough study material in your notebook to pass the tests (especially since he allows for a formula sheet!) Overall he was a pleasure to have definitely recommend!

At first I thought I was going to do poorly, being the fact that I didn't do so well on one of the exams due to other stress, but he gave a lot of opportunities to improve my grade and I'm happy with the results. Impossible to get a bad grade just as long as you try and don't give up. He's very straight forward and a good professor overall. :)

Dr. Tex is good. He brings you up to speed slowly as you learn about the integral and the various techniques to tackle it. His mid-term exams are straight forward and he offers extra credit on exams and in support of your final grade. One caveat - after he brings you up to speed he wants you to "bring it" on the final - that exam pulls no punches.

One of the best professors I have ever had. He likes to teach, and you can clearly see that he enjoys what he does. Just take him if you have to take math, trust me.

Prof T is great, but he is a math prof, so his brain is wired differently. He sometimes overcomplicates subjects. His well-intentioned extra credits are so difficult that you might as well spend time on studying the course material. Very enthusiastic teacher and you will have fun and never fall asleep in class! (because he will wake you up :) )

Dr. Teixeira is an amazing professor. Probably my favorite professor in general at BMCC. I am terrible at math, and his lectures were broken down in a way anyone can understand! The only math class Ive ever enjoyed and it was until 9 at night. You would think that would be annoying but I loved his class. Hes clear on what you will be graded on. You literally just have to show up, his tests are easy because he lets you have a formula sheet .

He does only give 4 exams and thats your grade. But he is a great professor. Math is my weak spot and he made it so easy to understand and doesnt mind explaining things over for you to understand. Professor Teixera's class was heavy on the lectures, attendance is super important.. he will drop you if you skip class. 3 tests and a final, use your classmates to help out. If he sees you put forth the effort you can get an A. Plenty of chances for extra credit.

This guy is awesome! He recorded lectures for you to watch anytime you want and reviews them with you in class, the lecture videos are super specific and prepare you really well for the tests. You need the textbook to do your homework but you can rent it on amazon for a good price. I wish every math professor taught like him!

Professor really is the best math prof at bmcc. His lectures are pre-recorded, and very detailed. He has a very clear grading criteria, and has q/a sessions with the class to address any questions or concerns. I really recommend doing the homework (you are not expected to submit them), and you should be on top of this class!

Professor Teixeira is the best professor for MAT 209. He is very knowledgeable, explains so well in different ways that there is no possibility you wont understand. He gives great feedbacks and is always available to help his students. You must complete assignments, be an active participant and do not be absent. Take him if you want to learn.

Professor Teixeira is one of the best in BMCC. His materials are clear and organized. The course has three tests and a final exam, an informal paper, and a research paper. (Writing Intensive Course) In general, he taught very well and made me interested in statistics. Take him and thank me.

Dr. T is very cool! His videos are clear and in class he explains everything that is needed. I emailed him like 5 times and he answered easily within like 3-4 hours! If you are not super good in math - take him because his explanations are very clear.

This class was fantastic! The attendance was highly recommended, and the content was decent, getting the job done. Clarity was mostly clear, and engagement was excellent, with the professor always interactive. Helpfulness, grading, and the classroom atmosphere were all great. Prof T gives great and easy to follow lectures. If you are unable to attend class, he posts all of his lecture vids online. He likes participation and gives real world explanations. There is no graded homework. There are 4 tests worth 20% each and attendance worth the final 20% of your grade (easy points). He also gives extra credit opportunities.

Really great Professor and funny! Exams can be a bit tough but the lessons taught in class are also in video format on brightspace - in case you miss anything. He also gives plenty of opportunity to gain IN CLASS extra credit. Attendance can make or break your grade - SO GO TO CLASS. Would for sure take again! totally recommend.
