Strict, but has clear expectations. One of the few good MIS teachers at CSULA.
A bit strict but clear and helpful and very enthusiastic about students understanding everything. One of the VERY VERY few CIS teachers at CSULA in whose class you can actually learn something.
He tells you exactly what is going to be on his exams. He goes over it with you.
Good teacher but tooooo much homework and quizzes.
agree. Professional but there are a lot of work to do, too many readings, never feel like relaxing, every week either quizs or midterms are given, never make you stop doing things, you'd better have good preparations if you wanna get a good grade.
Ok, so Wasley is boring and gives us a lot of work. HOWEVER, the midterms and finals are so easy, if you don't get a "A" or "B" in the class, it's cause you just didn't do anything. I wish he taught more of my classes.
He's a cool professor, very easy. He gives review sheet which is exactly the same as the review sheet. Although he gives alot of works, he's still easy for me. If you listen and take good notes in his class and you know what your doing then you will pass
Gives lots of homework but midterms and finals are just like the review sheets which help out a lot! Got a "B" in the class. I'd take him again.
He sure was strict; however, if you go to class and listen - you'll sure get a "A" or "B". Very good teacher. You'll learn a lot. I wish he taught more courses.
this professor like to yell at peeps. it's his hobbie. "you do this you do that",gosh! i wish he could just calm down for a sec.His test is very easy. i wish he could just stay calm and teach like a "good manager". well, if he is a boss at some company, if i am the employee, i already lost loyalty.
Good professor, pretty easy, but you have to go to class and take notes like mad.
You got time to study? You don't want to do group projects? You don't want to learn? You want a good grade? Are you willing to work for it? If you answered yes to all the questions, then this is your proffesor. Not a fun class, but I had a very easy time there. Nice guy. Okay teacher. Good stories.
Very strict professor. Alot of hw and memorizations. But he goes over all the answers for the midterm, quizes and final!! How EASy is that!! There is no way you can fail his class, unless you are stupid or something. =)
he is extremely boring but there is a need to go to class to take good notes. There was one midterm, final, and like about 4 assignments. The assignments were not difficult and his midterm was easy the hardest part was the final.
nice class
If you hate to memorize terms, this isn't the class for you. If you have a great memory, all his test are memorizing terms. He'll give you a study guide, everything on that study guide is on the exam, DEFINITIONS ONLY!
this was my first class on CalStateLA. Prof. Wasley speaks very fast. The mid-term was so easy because he gave us reviews from last quarter. However, the final was not that good. It had a lot of memorization, and new terms. The 4 assignments that he gave were so easy. He wanted us to appreciate him, by telling him if you are going to come late.
he yells in the class, and he's not very helpful with your questions and concerns. Basically he doesn't care about you or your problems. But the mid-terms were pretty easy. he'll go over what's going to be on the exam, and he puts a previous quarter's exam on reserve at the library, so you'll know what is exactly going to be on the tests.hw easy
He's full of energy! Talks very fast, covers a lot of material, gives a lot of homework and reading. But it's an easy class, and enjoyable.
Bring some ear mugs because this guy has a loud voice when he teaches. Other than that pretty straight forward....tells you exactly what you will see on the midterm and final. So how can you fail unless your an idiot. Only thing i dislike was to many writt
This is a very straightforward teacher. He will go over exactly what is going to be on his midterms and finals, no trick questions when test time comes. Tests are a bit lengthy but manageable. If you are a CIS student, you should take this class your first quarter, it is a great foundation course.
If you are a CSI student, take him. If computers bore you, as they do me—well good luck. Way, way, way too much detail on every aspect of computers. His Finals and Midterms are over 100 true/false questions. One has to bring multiple scantrons.
This man loves computers, so do I. CIS is my major but this guy covered more material then necessary. Its a 10 week quarter, Wasley, when you emphasize material that is not suppose to be covered in this course, you are spending less time on material that should be touched on better. We know you mean good but your philosophy is not doing well for us
Very monotone voice. Treats his class like bootcamp. Doesnt even remember anybodys name and if u dont approach him he will never want to help or talk to you. He expects for you to know about 250 questions worth of true and false and matching for about 8 chpts and it is annoying. Not good if u r takin this class for a higher general class.
Prof. Wasley, in other ratings, make him sound like an ogre. He tends to be abrasive and gives 200+ questions on the midterm and final, but other than that he is a great professor. He goes over the midterm and final question by question. Go to class, because most of the questions will be answered during lecture. Oh, BE ON TIME! You've been warned!
Great Prof! I would reccomend him. Yes, his tests were very long (200+ questions) but he went over EVERYTHING one of tbe questions, and if you were not in class or did not pay attention you missed it. He reapeats concepts A LOT, so even if you have no intrest in computers like me, you will be able to understand his lectures and do well on the tests
Very clear, very helpful. Learned a lot from him
He is not so patient for the students, plus he is very strict with the students. No fun at all during the class. Take lots of points all for a small mistakes
Wasley is one of the best teachers at Cal State LA. Don't listen to anyone. He is very helpful. Yes he a bit loud at times but tha't how he gets to you. You actually learn something. There is no way that you'll fail any of this tests of quizzes unless you are stupid. He gives you a sample test beforehand and every question is the same. Very easy!!!!
Very good instructor. He wants the students to learn and he is very professional in the way he teaches. I loved his class even though it was hard, but now that it's over I can say that I learned a lot. Thank you, Dr. Wasley.
Very straightforward professor. He does give A LOT of information, but he does emphasize which will be in the midterm and final. The textbook was a complete waste of money and was barely used during my quarter. There are about 190 questions in the test, but the questions are easy and most people finished them in about an hour. Highly recommend him.
very good teacher. very helpful. willing go out his way to help students. highly recommended.
What it do! to tell you the truth I never knew what the hell was going on in this class yet I still managed to get a B in the course. Dont bye the book it's on reserve, you don't need to go to class just go to his review and listen well because he speaks faster than the speed of light. easy B and maybe A
Pro. Wasley is awesome. Downside to his class is the amount of info. But he reviews the info more than once and his lectures start with a brief overview of the past lecture. Fair amount of homework which are cases from the book. Don't even need the book to study. His tests are based on his lectures. If go to his reviews, ur set for the tests.
Just memorize the study guide. The study guide is essentially the exam. There is no way to not get an A in his class.
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! STUDY THE STUDY GUIDE AND YOU'LL DO FINE. 2 MIDTERMS, FINAL, AND 2 CASE STUDIES FOR EVERY CHAPTER. SHOULD GET AN EASY A. GREAT PROFESSOR.
U must take this professor! he gives study guide that will exactly be on the exam. but the exams have more than 150 MC. but not hard at all if u memorize the study guide. 2 midterms, 1 final. no projects at all. by the way, this one girl was cheating during the exam (with her ipod) & he took her to hell. DON'T CHEAT. I MEAN IT!
easy class .. dnt need bk .. gives u a thural review on mdtrm & final long but easy .. cases r easy too .. hes fun
I didnt think he was fun at all. Boring class, gives atleast 150 questions on exams, not hard but alot of info to memorize.
This class is waste of time and the exams and the way he takes the class really shows how immature his teaching profession is when compared to his age! hope he realizes this, well no use even if he realizes at this age(:: dont take this stupid useless class! you will not gain anything!
Easy class. All you have to do is come to the class and study his study guide then you will get an A. About 150 multiple choice / true false questions, but they are very easy, and straight forward no tricky.
So far, an easy professor. Try not to be late to class, he will call you out. also, if you leave early, he will make sure everyone knows, unless you tell him you must leave early. other than that, lots of info, but he repeats in different ways to make sure everyone understands. Show up to class, nothing is covered from the book except case study
Hes one of the best prof at CSULA..hes strict but for a good cause..dont show up late and dont miss class and also dont walk out during his lectures and you'll be on his good side..7 short case studies which is basically home work do all!!..1 mid term 200 ques and 1 final 150 ques..take good notes and also pay attention..
I think he is a good teacher. He gives alot of advice, alot of stories, and some jokes. He teaches things that you will encounter as a business major and not all that BS u learn in books that u will never use. i recommend this professor
He's so loud! The class is easy. Just study the studyguide. For casestudies, focus on "Format" rather than "Content". Follow his guideline.
Helpful direct great teacher!Bring book goes over in class need for review. lets you everything tested on.Useful insight into workplace. Recc this Prof.know world, national, local news as an incentive. great stories.
I like the professor, however he takes a lot of test...and a lot homework. His test are around 100 to 200 question. Good luck. He goes fast. Test every day.
12 Case Studies (1 question per case), grade on format rather than content ** 2 midterms, 1 final which compose of more than 150 questions ** Though, give study guide 1 week before and tests are exactly the same from it. Yet, lots to memorize. Overall, the material is easy to understand and remember, so not hard to get A. Attendance is not mandator
2 midterms, 1 final, and case studies (easy). Review handout prior to midterms/final. Easy A or B. Wasley makes the class interesting.
2 midterms, 1 final, and case studies (easy). Review handout prior to midterms/final. Easy A or B. Wasley makes the class interesting. SORRY FOR THE DOUBLE POST. THE SUBJECT WAS FOR MGMT 307 NOT MGMT 308.
Very straight forward and tells you exactly what he wants you to study for the tests. Case studies are easy. This is one of the teachers that you will learn a lot from. Definitely recommended. Tests are kind of long (160-200 multiple choice questions) but to the point.
Prof. Wasley is an excellent professor at Calstatela. He is very knowledgeable. He let you know what to study for all tests. You can even record his classes. 2 midterms, 1 final, and 10 homework. Just follow his instructions and you will do just fine. I would take him again in the future.
He is super LOUD, there is no way one can fall asleep during this class. Easy homeworks, tough on grading but once you follow his instructions, easy A is ahead of you. One MUST follow his instructions. 1 midterm and 1 final (not cumulative) contained 150-200 questions but will give you detailed study guide. I learned a lot from him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seems like an ok guy but lousy manager. Loud, annoying, control freak. Lectures mostly pointless but study guides very helpful. You won't learn anything useful about management but there is some interesting info.
great teacher, go to class every thing he says in class is on the test, he gives a long mid term/final of about 200 questions but everything is covered in detail on the study guide i'd take another class with him :]
This Prof is an excellent manager and teacher. 2 midterms, 6 case studies and a final. He comes across as real strick but hey, that's the real world out there. Managers are'nt going to be all nice with you in the real world. Enjoys his class alot. Easy A if you just read the book.
2 midterms 1 final, all easy even if you somewhat study his study guide, which is very similar to what is on his tests. i only read the book to do the very easy homeworks. basically u should be fine as long as u put at least some time to study his study guide. yea hes strict, but its not as bad as people say.
THE BEST YOU CAN GET! TEACHES CLASS LIKE A COACH, YOU WILL LEARN SO MUCH THAT BEFORE YOU KNOW IT YOU WILL BE APPLYING ALL THAT HE TEACHES YOU.
Very strict but he just knows how to run his class. Class was not hard at all and Prof. Wasley is a great teacher. Highly recommend!
Great teacher. You learn a lot from him and he goes beyond the textbook which is a +. Highly recommended. If you get anything below a B you're just a loser that somehow made it to where you are.
Tests are 200Q each multiple choice. 2 midterms and a final. plus 12 or so homework assignments, very easy. Overall its a easy class but this dude needs to stop saying "look up here" drove me nuts! Hes very loud and slightly obnoxious. First day of class was my favorite, by the time it was over i couldn't stand him. easy class though, good teacher.
Knowledgeable, understandable and clear. Attend class, pay attention and review his study guide. He teaches the fundamentals that some teachers expect you to know and is always available. I wish he would teach other classes. 3 tests, homework cases and no group project! Highly recommended.
good teacher. But u need remember everything. 94+ is A, 92-93 is B. I try my best but only got A-. overall, if u put effort, u can easily pass.
Good Prof, study guide is EXACTLY test. Class can be boring because their is 0 class participation and 0 group work. he just stands up their and talks the ENTIRE CLASS. Kind of comes off as rude when approached during office hours, but he still helped. Recommended. Study and should be an easy A
Great Instructor, keeps you focus on the prize
One midterm and a final exams. You have to take good notes in class, he talks very fast make sure you write down everything he explained. He gives us study guides for midterm and final exams. You don't need to read the book, but you will need it for homework.
The first few weeks, I couldnt stand him. He has a really short temper and if you look down for literally 5 seconds he gets all crazy and tells you to "LOOK UP HERE" and goess off about "HOW HE WORKS TOO HARD" but you somehow get used to it. His class is very easy. Hw assignments can be done in 5 min. 2 tests. All multiple choice/true&false.
He is so annoying with his "look up here..and i'm workong way too hard here" comments. U cant even write notes well coz he has a bad handwriting. He is very anal on the format of the HWs and will try to deduct points from u. Tests are confusing and hard. He is very strict as u cant even look at your cellphone.
straight forward class but he can be a bit annoying. he expects to constantly keep your eyes on him. even if you're taking notes. the hmwk is pretty easy. a few questions per chapter. this keeps you on top of reading the book and helps you follow along in class. overall, i'd recommend him as a professor
He is very strict, uptight and can be rude sometimes. Don't ask stupid questions or he will yell at you. 9 Hw, 1 120 questions midterm, 1 191 questions final. The class was not very fun and too much material was covered.
Prof. Wasley isn't all that bad. Weekly homework assignements consist of answering 5 questions in the book. Mid-term and Final are 150 & 191 T/F & MC based on lectures. He does yell if he see's you're on your phone, he' not very entertaining but he will be helpful. He will keep you till the very end of class and he does take himself too seriously.
Wasley is a good professor. You can do well in his class if you try. ONE midterm (150 q's) and ONE final (200 q's. HE USES THE KROENKE BOOK and the HOMEWORK IS BASED ON THE BOOK. His exams are mostly True/False and matching, but they are dense and can sometimes be tricky. He teaches detailed and quickly. There is a lot of material that is covered.
Incredible professor. If you have a day where you're in a mood to zone out and not learn, you might get annoyed. However, he's extremely effective at teaching and instilling information into your brain. Not very much hw. Detailed study guides for midterm & final, pretty fair.
Great professor one of the best I have had. He actually wants you to learn something in his class so he puts you on the spot if you your sleeping or interrupting the class. Its fairly easy study the study guides all the questions for the mid term and final come from the study guides.
He talks really loud, doesn't like it when you text in class. His midterm and final is 200 questions EACH. Book is only for the homework. The tests are 99% from the lecture so you MUST attend the class. You don't need to read the book, but you need the code for HW
Did not use the $200 book. He likes to think his outdated experience is relevant, but he is obsolete. I will never use anything he taught in the real world. Pay attention to lecture because it will be on midterm and final. Did not cover book. 1-Mid & 1-final & 1 national test. The national test is also graded despite no review of topics to prep.
Not bad. Midterm, final, and national test. The first two exams are easy. Though, I did horrible on the national test, I still got the expected grade, a B. If you do your HW, go to class, and review the studyguide(this is very important), then you should get an B-A. Another great thing about his class was that THERE WERE NO GROUP PROJECTS.
Loved this professor! I hate computers and I enjoyed his lectures. He s very loud and very particular about his system in class, but he is very clear on the subject! Super knowledgeable! Always available! Responds to all emails! Attend his class and you will be good for tests. Truly cares about the students and their futures. I would take again.
Attendance is mandatory to truly understand the material, but he literally gives you the answers to the midterm and final the class before! BTW midterm and final are LONG! I just recorded the lecture before the midterm or final, brought my laptop to type down the answers, he literally gives you the questions on the study guide! EASYYYYY, do HW!
Don't you hate it when you check the rating of a professor and it's just like a few every year? Maybe you should participate instead of always only reading! As for Wasley, this guy is very straight up. He will tell you exactly what's on the midterm and final. 1 midterm 1 paper 1 final. Gives a study guide and answers before the exam. Recommended.
His class has long lectures but this is real world stuff. i do use a lot of what he talks about in real world. 1 midterm 1 final and 1 paper project. Record his midterm on your phone and review it. Practically gives you all the answers but you have to review all of the questions he provides for midterm and final. great professor!
His midterm and final are 200 questions but they're simple questions. Nothing too hard. Pure memorization. National Exam is awful, he doesn't prepare you for it because he doesn't care for it. You MUST attend class as there is no book. You leave at 10 PM everyday. No phones allowed.
He is really not a bad professor, don't know why so many people complain. Just go to every class and take good notes, that's what you're suppose to be doing anyways. A lot of the things he teaches is not in the text book, all homework is online. He pretty much gives you answers to the midterm and final.
Gives a good introduction to computer systems for business applications. Tries hard to teach and make sure students understand the material. Take good notes and attend review session to pass the exams. 12 quizzes online (open book). Easy paper as long as you follow the provided format. Take him for a LOUD yet enriching CIS 301 course.
Great class, Lectures are clear and makes sure you learn basic concepts that many professors fail to teach. You are there from 6-10 but no worries he keeps you awake. Class is doable. Keep it up Wasley!
The midterm and final are long. He has a lot of True and False questions and assignments in the format he wants. There is a additional ICCP two part exam on week 11. There is no textbook and expect to be there until 10pm. He has an odd style for teaching CIS and points people out for when he thinks people are not paying attn.
Okay he isn't the easiest tbh you have to study a lot although the study guide is provided the midterm was long his lectures are long he speaks very loud and clear I suggest recording and take fast class notes I got a B one midterm one final and one paper quizzes online every week straight from the book which cost 200$
Good prof.
He is the best professor. You actually learn in class. He is very clear on the subject matter and the exams are not difficult at all.
There were 16 textbook based question assignments, 4 essays (1.5 -3 pages), midterm and a final. Lecture heavy would help to record class, especially during review sessions. He is an engaging speaker (very loud and energetic). Expects everyone in class to be paying attention (will call you out). Very strict on formatting for homework and essays.
A man of his word, constantly proves that he is a veteran. Good grading scheme, may be repetitive in lecture but focus more on his core idea of the class. He will make you to listen to his lectures. Make use of his experience!!!!
Long lectures everyday and uses every minute of the class, class ends 5 minutes after its supposed to end. He has some type of bossy temper, maybe because he's a veteran, he wants you to look at him when he's talking the whole 2-3 hrs of class and if you look away he will get mad. Can't use electronics in his class, he gets mad. GO 2 CLASS 2 PASS
He knows what he is talking about and he talks about what he knows.
Absolutely amazing prof. He won't mind if you record his lectures, but you best study like a madman if you've terrible short-term memory like I do. Strict on the format for the essay assignments as well. Extremely informative, but if it seems like you're not paying attention, he will call you out.
He's very passionate about teaching but quite strict when it comes to rules he sets during the beginning of the semester. Assigns a fair bit of homework and reading (about a chapter a week). Has 2 midterms (100+ questions) but gives out a review sheet prior to each one. The class is hard, but if you ask questions he will answer.
