This professor is very nice and funny. When he sees that the class is getting boring he stops to wake everyone up with a joke or a story. He told us NOT buy the physical book but to use MyMathLab(MML) eBook. Do the MML Homework because it will count. Take notes, especially from the board because they will most likely be on the Tests.
Very funny professor and tells funny stories to wake everyone up if it gets too quiet. He's always there to help if anyone is struggling. Textbook is not needed, only the access code to MyMathLab. He gives activities after each lesson which is basically the test itself. It's an easy class, just do your work and you won't have any problems at all.
Oh the tests are brutal. We did have some take home tests but they took all day to do. There was one test the whole class failed but he let us do corrections. He tries to take a break every so often to talk about the latest news. PROLONG THIS PERIOD. He'll jump right back into math is a second. MyMathLab is horrible but you need it to pass. Jupiter
He already stated that he's just reading the power points that he puts on the site and if you want following help to look at the textbook. There's no point in going into his class unless for tests because he pretty much has an online class. I pass more of his homework and tests assignments by being in my dorm and reading and helping myself. Class-F
Kodwo was terrible. Possibly one of the most annoying professors on campus. AVOID HIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS. At first, you'll think he's funny and promising, but you'll soon learn otherwise. Personally, would never take him again. However, he does give a lot of take home tests which do help (the only positive about him).
Best math teacher ever, glad I got him on accident. I would not believe the other students who wrote those bad reviews, you only set yourself to fail. Kodwo gives you many options to pass and all of the questions from exams come from the notes. Also, you get a few take home test as well. Do the work, and youll pass. I dont even study and I have a A
Kodwo is a fun professor, always making jokes and trying to get the class involved in the discussion. Lots of homework. Sometimes he stops half way with explanations and expects you to do the work to figure out the rest. Tests aren't too tough, all questions come from homework assignments
Dr. Annan is a great Prof but you need to put the work in. MML is hard & it takes a long time to do, none of the questions are on tests. He is so funny & smart! You always have a laugh in his class. Bad with replying to emails, but can help if you ask. Lectures are pretty confusing, has thick accent. No quizzes, 4 TH tests.. I would take again!
Don't listen to the bad reviews about Kojo on here. He was a great professor and it was such an easy class. He gives so many opportunities to succeed. Anyone who is complaining that it was hard was lazy and didn't try at all. MML isn't hard either (the questions eventually repeat themselves.) He's always there to help and hes very funny. TAKE HIM
I won't go off on a tangent about 3311. I will just leave a very stern warning to any that need to take it. PLEASE, avoid his class NO MATTER the inconvenience. Offensive, rude, unethical, shocking. This man should be reported. Please avoid.
Assigns homework for every lesson he teaches(roughly a new lesson every other day or week) Hw is relatively easy, just worksheets. The tests are easy too, a majority of the questions from the test are from the hw. Apart from Hw in class he also assigns more hw online, so book is needed to get the code to do the work. Gets off track & tells stories
Really good teacher. Everything he teaches is available online. Just take notes and MAKE TIME TO DO MY MATH LAB. Hated whenever he got off topic cause some of the things he said were offensive and annoying. But other than that easy class to pass if you do all the work.
He makes a lot of jokes, you won't hate your time in this class if you talk to him and joke around with him, if you don't do this, you'll probably hate him. There is a handful of tests but they're not too tough, he's a good guy and a nice teacher if you show him you care and allow yourself to like him. if you aren't about that, don't take the class
He talks about topics that are NOT relevant to the math very often during the class. For instance, he would spent 1 hour out of 3 hours class time talking about current news or soccer games. if you want to seriously learn math, he is definitely not for that. however, if you are attending the class for credits, he is definitely your professor.
Understanding his thick accent/being able to handle a heavy workload (most of it being online homework) you should be okay. He isn't the best at explaining things but hopefully you have enough knowledge of previous math classes to pass. He is a funny professor but due to him being hilarious he doesn't do serious very well which can be frustrating.
You have to allow yourself to joke around with him and talk to him in order to like him. His class is very easy, just do the work. He's there to help you. I enjoyed his class a lot and would definitely take his course again. I slacked off and got a B at the end. Could have gotten an easy A if I put forth the effort. He's very laid back and cool
A great teacher! The accent is hard to understand at first, but after a while you don't notice it. Attendance is mandatory. He really helps his students succeed. 9/10 recommend!!
Dr. A has an accent but nothing too difficult to understand. Gets off track which i was okay with because 2.5 hrs of just calculus is bit too much for me. Funny, Understanding and Caring. Lecture style teaching! notes, problems on d2l. Test problems are same as note problems, pay attention and do your notes, easy A. MML needed for HW.
Kodwo has to be the best professor in the school. He really wants you to do well in his class. The first test was take home and the second test was in groups of three. He has a few hilarious stories per class to relieve the stress and then goes back to teaching and that really helps. Students voluntarily work out problems on the board.
Dr. Annan's calculus class is my best math class ever. He knows how to make a difficult class stress free and encourage student to learn more. His class is always fun.
Mr Kojo knows how to teach math to someone like me who bad in math. He gives worksheets in class and make us work in small groups. I like that because I learn more. GGC got it right this time!
Dr. Annan is very good about what he does in the classroom. He simplify difficult topic to the understanding of all students and makes it fun too.
I took this class 2 semester ago and it was fun. Dr Kodwo was patient with students and he tried his best to explain math to student like me who shuts down any time I'm in a math class.
I love this professor! Examples Dr. Annan gives n class is very helpful for my understanding. He's my best math teacher!
Dr. Annan is a sweet professor but you have to work hard. He's hilarious and sometimes gets out of the topic. His tests though are really hard in my opinion. I would study all day and still would have no idea what the question means.
Very lenient grader but makes you work for your grade.
I love Dr. Annan's calc. 1 class. He applies calc to real life and makes it fun as well.
Dr. Annan is an excellent professor. Just attend classes and you'll be fine.
I love Dr. Annan's class. Very relaxed class but you'll learn a lot without knowing the time.
He was one of the best professors I ever had. Although he gives a lot of homework on mymathlab, he is generally an easy grader and is a great teacher. He is also funny and gives good lectures.
Professor Annan is the funniest man I know. I am not good at Math and it had been over 10 years since I was last in a math class. We had 6 test and various activities(homework) to complete each week and you must use MML. Some of the answers to homework(MML) are directly from the book. I would take him again. He was funny, made it easier to deal.
Fails to accurately teach the subject well. His way of handling exams are easy as he picks directly from the worksheets, but comes across rude at times and does not "explain" things well. His accent makes it extremely difficult to comprehend. I would not recommend him if trying to learn concepts clearly
I absolutely adore this man. He is so helpful and seriously could not make math anymore simple. I've taken him for 2 different math classes now, and will continue to take math with Kojo. His accent isn't bad at all. Don't let the endless joking fool you.. this man is extremely smart. You have to be dumb to not get an A. Literally spoon feeds you.
I've taken Kojo twice for different math courses and he was great both times! He strives to ensure his students understand the material. He understands that math can be difficult, so he makes his course as easy as possible with some take home tests. His accent is very understandable and he is hilarious! This is a very stress free class. Take him.
Dr. Annan is hands down one of the best professors in the Math. His class gives a lot of worked problems but his charisma makes the workload very enjoyable. He's a very fair grader if you show that you're putting in the effort and is more than happy to help you out if you're struggling.
Great Professor. He is genuinely interested in student's success, always offered extra help opportunities, and makes himself available to help or discuss any topic. He love his job and it shows.
Awesome teacher!! I wish Dr. Annan taught all of my Mathematics classes. He loves what he does and is very engaged with his students. He has been the most helpful instructor I have ever had when it comes to Math; he's an excellent teacher. His
Dr. Annan is a wonderful Professor and is very fair. Extremely heavy course load. But, you will love this class. He is animated, charming, and funny. Grading is very fair and he is very accommodating. Can't say enough good stuff about him.
I love this man. He is funny, and keeps students interested in the topics he discusses. I wish he taught more of my math classes. Best professor I have had yet.
AWESOME Professor! Lots of work every week, but you'll have fun in his class everyday. He's very helpful and have patience with every student and just an enjoyable guy.
I LOVEEEEEE THIS MAN...!!!! So much positivity, so much help in every class lecture during the whole semester... Taking his class this semester definitely made this semester on of the best so far in my education path. Cannot believe class is almost over with him:/
He is the best math professor at GGC. We had three tests and two were group tests and one of them was a take home test. He also made the final exam really easy. He does get off topic in class sometimes but it's good because the math doesnt fry your brain.
He's the absolute BEST!!!!!
This man is hands down, the most amazing math teacher i have ever had. He makes maths as easy as ABC. I am so glad i picked him this semester. I enjoyed every minute of class. If you care about learning + your grades, look no further!!!
Probably the best math teacher I've ever had. Not only is he a good teacher with a hilarious personality, but he is also beyond fair when it comes to the way he formats his class (gives take-home tests!). 10/10 would recommend teacher's bomb!
FUNNIEST TEACHER!!!! He too funny but teaches the material well.
One of the best professors. He takes time to teach and his lectures are always on point. You will never get bored due to his random jokes. Though he gives lots of homeworks but that is worth it. Never skip his class, study his lecture notes, do your homework and you will be fine.
I've taken two different classes with Dr. Kodwo and he truly wants to help his students. He's not out to get anyone. He's a really nice man. Pay attention to lecture and do your homework. Take notes if you struggle in math because you'll get lost (lecture gets boring fast) so it'll help you keep up. He knows what it's like to be a tired college kid
He is a pretty good professor. Our first test was a take home, the second one was in class but he added 30 points to everyone's test, and on the last test he gave 30 points worth of free questions. He likes to make jokes even though they weren't very funny in my opinion. Overall I would take him again.
TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!! I had him for College Algebra and he hands you everything you need to pass! Super easy as long as you study the sheets he gives you. Do your homework on Pearson, he'll give you many opportunities to finish it but it's better to do it and not wait until the last min. He is super funny and caring.
Dont take him for Statistics. Homework is very time consuming and doesn't even go over what you learned in class. He sounds nice and thinks hes trying to be helpful, but DOESNT reply to your emails or texts. He's a lazy professor and that'll make you lazy a well. shouldve dropped his class but now i have to deal with the grade i have.
He is a fraud. He is very lazy and dont want to help anybody like dont take him for stats he is not helpful with this topic.
He is very caring and wants the best for his student! What a great teacher!!!
Great teacher. Explains the material well. Nice and funny.
Professor Annan is great. He gives good notes that the exams are based on. Come to class, pay attention, and know what you are doing. You will definitely get a good grade!
There was 4 tests, a final, and MML hw. Attendance was taken and it was worth 10% of my grade. Four tests were not quite difficult but you need to study hard for them. For the final, study the four tests he gave out and nothing else. Take him if you get the chance. This professor is full of surprises; in a good way!
I really love Dr. Annan's style of teaching. He makes math very doable.
My best professor so far. I took Statistics with him and he was awesome!
This is my second math course I took with Dr. Annan. He's so good at what he does. Calc I was very easy for me because of him. Thanks Dr. Annan.
Most valuable was the instructor, he was very enthusiastic and made learning interesting.
He was very professional teacher, very understandable, comprehensive. I would definitely choose him next semester for another class.
Dr. Kodwo is a highly respected instructor. I will recommend him to anyone taking or thinking about taking this course. He is such a wonderful teacher and is always willing to help students if they do not understand the material. There are very few instructors that have genuinely cared about my performance, and Dr. Kodwo is one of those.
I love Dr. Annan's teaching method. Best Math Professor at GGC
Kodwo is a gem. He knows how to deliver math to students like me. My best math class
Dr. Annan is fantastic! He totally changed my mind on my mathematical abilities. He was willing to help outside of class, but expected us to put in work. Fair grader and extremely enthusiastic about the class.
Dr. Annan did a great job explaining the concepts related to Calculus 1 without being overly complicated.
I found his teaching to be insightful and engaging. He made sure to explain how each topic would help us in the future.
Kudwo is a very thorough and patient teacher always willing to help out students in need!
An excellent teacher, his instructions were very clear, and always available to helps the ones who need help.
He is a great professor and is always willing to help. He gives you muliple ways to earn a good grade in his class. Theres 4 to 5 tests and homework is online. He is one of the best professors i've had at this school and i would take him again if I could. No one should make below a B in this class.
he is a really good professor, lets you use notes on the test. We only had about 4 test the whole semester and make sure you do your homework. HOMEWORK WEIGHS HEAVILY!!! and attendance is mandatory!!!
Really great teacher. Has an accent but It was easy to get past. Apparently he's from Mars and loves Chick-fil-a. He hand out worksheets for every single day and walks through it all step by step. Review your notes when studying for the tests. Overall pretty easy. Just make sure to show up every day.
Dr, Anan took over my class when my professor announced she could not finish the semester. I feel like if I had Dr. Anan from the beginning my experience would have been better but I did not enjoy the class. The class was not interactive at all, the whole time you just watch him answer problems on the board. The class is boring.
Dr. Annan is a pretty good professor for calc. His classes are lecture heavy so do pay attention. Be sure to ask him about the questions he didn't answer on the notes because those are the questions that come up on the exam. There were 2 take-home exams. Overall, he's passionate about the subject and you should be able to get an A or B.
Dr. Annan is a great choice. I took him at GTC and he was great. Don't miss a class, you'll miss a lot! Attendance is not mandatory, but it helps a lot. He's obsessed with Chick-fil-a and is very funny. I would definitely take him again. He cares about his students' grades and gives lots of extra point in the Unit Tests. Easy!
Told his class to go seek help elsewhere because he has done his job if you are struggling. The majority of his class failed his 2nd exam yet he failed to look within to see if there is something wrong he's doing. Exams are nothing like the in-class worksheets nor MML HW. Don't let the jokes fool you. His heavy accent complicates learning.
TERRIBLE!!!!!! Things taught in lecture and homework on mymathlab were nothing like the test at all. Absolutely impossible to prepare for tests. Spent HOURS studying for tests and material on the tests would be nothing like what we would learn in class. Do NOT take for statistics if you care about your GPA
So funny, but stats is so hard. He is not up for further clarification if you have questions and tests are VERY unpredictable. I had to learn from mml homework because I didn't understand his lectures, very monotonous. I'm a good student and wanted to fall asleep. He is caring but won't EVER answer emails and won't help outside of lecture,if then
He takes "Participation" grade for attending his lectures but they're a COMPLETE waste of time. Everything you need to learn, you learn on MyStatLab and his classes are more so 'review'. He's too slow and has such a strong accent. Takes forever to respond to you and overall not as useful as a professor should be.
I literally taught myself!! he does not explain very well, he just goes over notes. He doubted people for cheating and was ready to give 0 bc student work was not similar to how he did. He wants his tests to answer exactly the same as how he did in class. Do not take him! I taught myself all the chapters and lots of hw on MyMathLab.
He surely is a good professor. His lectures make me understand the material better. Don't expect to be babied.
Curves tests occasionally. He is a great professor overall. In order to ace the final, you just have to study the 4 tests he gave you. Cares a lot about his students and wants you to pass. However, he won't baby you. The problems he doesn't work out for you which is what you work on your own will be some of the test questions that you will see!!!
The professor cares about his students he goes over a lot of topics every class. Be prepared because he excepts student to go into his class knowing calc 1. Other than that he wasnt a very hard teacher. He gives two take him test . Half your grade is homework and pre-work and attendance. Doing well on the first two test will send you a long way.
He expects you to know Cal1 and algebra fundamentals. He goes over the topics in class but he skips steps often. He does his best to explain whats going on. The homework isnt close to the classwork sometimes. Understand the worksheets and you will pass the tests. The rest of your grade is homework, pre lecture, and showing up.
Homework was on MML. Some examples from the notes were in the tests. If no one asks for help on an example, he will skip it in the notes. Two attempts on MML tests. Three days on take-home tests. He is helpful if you ask for help.
He's an okay professor. He bases test questions on the questions we covered in class; however he doesn't give good feedback on your exams. The homework he assigns don't help with your exams in class. He's awful at responding to emails -- you're better off speaking to him in person.
His class is incredibly fast paced and will barely stop for questions. Attendance is graded every week, the homework is around 70+ math questions per unit that don't help with tests. He does not answer his emails and he won't take feedback.
ALOT OF HW! In total you will have to do 300 questions on mymathlab. He grades hard so make sure to understand each topic. He does provides study guides so that's good. Here's how the class is weighted. =Tests are 40% of grade /attendance is 10/ Hw is 25%/ Final is 25%. only good thing is that there is no midterm. He is funny. talk to him in person
I can't really say much except that I had to leave to "use the restroom" to use my phone since he wouldn't allow us to use them in class. I left so I could drop his class and pick up a Saturday class. It was the first day.
He is a lazy teacher. Does not want to explain things, skips steps and concepts, leaving you to learn everything by yourself. relies heavily on MyMathlab to teach you which can be frustrating sometimes. Lectures are sometimes confusing and the test are extremely hard, so if you did not constantly teach yourself, you will not do good.
I took his online class, you have to teach yourself on MML (my math lab). He has a heavy accent, has 4 test worth 40% of your grade. MML homework 25%, participation is 10%, and final exam 25%. If you watch MML videos and take notes, you will be okay.
straight lectured from powerpoints in class and when he did do examples, always skipped major steps which left everyone confused. soo much hw assigned which were never taught in class. always expected us to just magically know the content in seconds. only did good bc i taught myself. caused sm stress on me tho def wouldn't do this again...
I would definitely take another class from this professor. He explains the problems in a way that's really easy to follow, he's fun, and he makes class interesting by telling us stories or explaining real-life scenarios where the math applies. He always welcomes questions. If you show up to class and keep up with the homework you'll be fine.
Dr. Kodwo is one of the best professors I ever had, he is a incredible who wants the best out of his students.
An amazing professor, he has an amazing sense of humor as well! He cares so much about the his students and is super flexible. He does have a good amount of homework, as long as you study and do the work, you will be fine in this class. You will enjoy this class due to the environment he creates, which is light hearted jokes and riddles.
The professor from Jupiter, In all seriousness, Dr. Annan is a very solid mathematics professor and while I would not consider his way of teaching atypical, he does have his own methods of teaching some topics. His grading and class is straightforward, do your homework and look over and study the packet he hands out at the start of every unit.
I somehow got this teacher for calc 2 TWICE (only class with open space at the time) in a row and failed both times cause i was unable to follow his lectures and then somehow got him in differential equations 1 (the only class at all at the time) and had to withdraw. he is a curse that follows me and i will not make that mistake a 4th time
Apparently Dr. Kodwo is from Jupiter, that's pretty cool. He has multiple tests, no quizzes, but lots of homework. Attendance counts for apart of your grade as well. Beware of his heavy Jupiter accent. He also gives out a lot of extra credit. He does skip steps to problems often, but you can always ask him to go through the steps.
Strange sense of humour, but except all of that he is fine
He is very hard to understand and doesn't seem to understand what he is teaching. He was very confusing and it was hard to follow with what he was teaching. Just use the packet he gives you and figure out how to do the problem on your own.
Professor Annan likes to be challenged and loves questions. He wants students ask questions, than to be silent. He knows what he is doing and takes some creative leeway on teaching. He also must find math to be a heavy topic, he will often go on a 5-10 minutes student-inspired rant about something very unrelated, but welcome. Also, do the homework.
Professor Annan DOESN'T respond to email so if you have a problem (like a link isn't working), you are on your own. He comes online once a week to most an update on Mondays but doesn't interacti with students aside from that. Terrible experience.
He is not accessible out side of classes, he will not answer your email. You must buy textbook in order to do all the works. He does give some day off if the class is a head of works, but there will be a lot of homework so make sure you are stay on task.
The professor expects you to be independent, but his lectures are worth attending. Using unstuck study and the textbook alongside the course materials can really help you succeed in this challenging yet rewarding class.
