4 papers total for the semester, but she gives you plenty of head's up and shows you how to write them well. She's pretty open on topic which is helpful. I got appointments with her after each rough draft was due and she went over the draft with me. She's really an easy grader, but she does expect correct grammar and proper English. Great class!!!

I had her for a hybrid class and she is a pretty tough grader on her essays. She helps you out and gives you clear instructions on what she wants on the assignments. Their is a TON of reading and she does random pop quizzes on the sections. She grades you on attendance, DO NOT miss class. Super nice and wants her students to pass. Lots of writing!

Professor Lightfoot is so awesome, and I am a better writer because of her. The lectures are all so well composed and she takes time and dedication into what she does. You go to class expecting to learn what is on the syllabus and come out learn twice that and you learn random awesome things, and awesome words. You won't regret taking her classes!

She is good person and I learn a lot from her, but I will not taking her class again. I cry several times at night because her homework drive me crazy. Every week I have to do reading homework, mark the point(she's going take points off), write long review. This situation is getting worse when you have more than 3 courses or essay at the same time.

Professor Lightfoot is awesome. For the essays, sometimes she can be very specific about what she expects, but it's not like she gives you one lesson in swimming & then tosses you in the deep end. When I first started Professor Lightfoot's class, I thought about dropping it after seeing the workload I was going to have to do. I stuck around until the end and I am very glad I did. Professor Lightfoot is a very good at what she does. She assigns three essays and a fourth for the final exam. There is also a class novel. She grades papers very intensely but gives a lot of good feedback.

My only complaint is that there was not a day you did not have homework. Professor Lightfoot cares for her students and she even sets up appointments with her students to make sure they understand the material. Angel, right?!

Professor Lightfoot is a great teacher but I have never been more stressed out with a class before. When people say there are 4 essays, they aren't including that she makes you pre-write, draft, put your paper through an online tutor, correct everything, and then make a final draft. I have homework every single night in this class. Too much work.

I am currently taking her 8 week English 102 class and let me tell you i love love love her! I have learned so much and her intelligence is admirable. Ms. Lightfoot wants you to do good in class and she offers extra credit. Even if you forget to cite or quote something she will give you a chance to fix it unlike other professors. alot of reading

I took this class online during the Fall! I work better on my school work in person, but she explained things in great detail.. She's also soo sweet, and understanding! The Chapters that we would read in our books were interesting as well.. I would recommend this class.

Anytime you need help with anything, she emails you right back. if you have a full schedule and work, don't take this class, but if you do have the time, take this class, you will learn a lot, regardless!

This is one of the best English teachers I've ever taken. 102 is the last English class I needed to take and she ended it with a bang (in a great way). She's fun, smart, and a huge geek like me! For all the essays I thought I was writing what was expected and when the papers were returned, the entire page was red. After this course, I've changed my major from English to no emphasis. There is literally homework for every single day. So if you don't like homework everyday, don't take her. She is really nice though and responds to her emails quickly. Yes there is a lot of work but it isn't anything impossible to do just manage your time well for essays they all have prewriting which is great. She will help you if you need clarification. I HIGHLY recommend you take her, you will learn a lot!

No textbook was required but there will be weekly readings to print, annotate, and answer questions on. All of them are extremely interesting!

It is required to buy two short novels which were very cheap, and she provides parts of larger readings for you to print. Requires 5-7 Annotations including a response to another student annotation; discussions is your typical online discussion. 3 Papers + Annotated bibliography. The papers aren't actually essay papers but instead essay prompts you have to answer. Super nice and chill.

This class had set up consistent weekly modules for the entire semester, with two major essays that you're given plenty of time to prepare for. Feedback is given in discussions by other students, and the professor provides good feedback as well.
