Professor Benefo is a very good professor. He has a very thorough knowledge of the subject. Also, he makes the class very enjoyable. I definitely give my recommendation to take a class with him.

I took this class. I won't say it was a piece of cake, but he really helped us out on the projects. And open-book tests (you could do very well assuming you came and wrote notes down)? Come on. I think he was fair.

He is jut a great professor and there are no doubts about that. I took him and I had to work in the computer lab and I'm not so good with computer. He helped me out all the time whenever I needed his help. He was just an extraordinary teacher. His is great in the classroom.

I think that Prof. Benefo is an excellent professor. He is very knowledgeable about population issues. His teaching technique is very comprehensive. He takes the time to explain the material he is discussing in class. The class is very interesting and I recommend taking it, if you have not.

Is he a Professor that cares? NO .. He's classes are extremely boring and he is very difficult to understand.. But if you need an A take his class, you seriouly have to be an idiot to fail it. And for all those students who have received below a B Just drop out of school now, you'll never graduate.

Very good professor gives U a ideas of whats on he test a week before. All you have to do is study. He grades paper very hard finds every error but grades fairly, will edit your paper if you turn it into him a week before its due.

I had benefo for methods and thank GOD I did because I learned so much from him.

He's extremely knowledgeable and you will come away better for having him as a prof. Just complete your assignments, he'll give you outlines on what you need, and the rest should be fine. He's an excellent educator although not very available in person, but very good via email.

The class was very interesting, mostly discussion with some lecturing. He gives alot of work but as long as you do it and put effort into it you will get a good grade. Another great thing is that he gives you a review sheet for the midterm and the final, as long as you study you will pass.

Professor Benefo is a great professor, yet a very tough professor. He makes sure that the material was understood by all if not then he always responds to all e-mails. In this course he gave 10 low stakes where you have to write a page reaction paper at the end of class and 6 high stakes that are take-home and consist of about 10 questions.

Professor Benefo is a very intelligent man. Soc. 346 is an extremely hard class but this professor goes out of his way to help you. He is a very fair man and he is wiling to walk you through the difficult lessons. He is one of the best teachers at Lehman. You actually "learn a lot" in his class. I would reccommend him to anyone!

If you truly want to learn this is the Professor for you. Professor Benefo is extremely intelligent and he goes out of his way to help you if you do not understand! I have taken him a few times and I believe he is one of the best Professor's Lehman has! This is a tough class and if you want to actually LEARN SOMETHING Benefo is the man to go to.

Very good professor. He demonstrates that he knows the subject. A bit demanding but for good reasons-he wants to give you a competitive edge. His pre-test reviews are very good (almost the same as the test). Uses the subjects in the book.

This class is helpful in understanding the Census and how it is used. U will learn alot and the Prof really tries his best to help you throughout. He is really great and wants his students to learn!! Good Prof!!!

Professor Benefo is very excellent. My suggestion is if you're going to take SOC346 with him. He's very strict about attendance and assignments. As for the labs, there's no makeups. What I'm saying is to always be on top of your work.

SOC 346 was taken during my senior year. Professor Benefo was great. He is attentive, knowleageable of subject and the most helpful professor I have ever taken. Do not short change yourself in this subject and take Professor Benefo. It is a tough course, writing intensive and a lot of work, but you will undertsand upon completion.

The best professor I've had at Lehman College. This guy knows his stuff. He is strict yet fun. He truly cares about his students. He really wants you to learn the subject at hand. There are too few like him. Please take a sociology course with Prof. Benefo. You won't regret it.

Prof. Benefo is a wonderful professor who wants all of his students to succeed. By making the work complex, yet meaningful, he prepares us for the climb to the top and professionalism, but makes it so that we don't forget the struggle and the dilligence it took to get there. I feel priveleged to have been taught by him!

Professor kofi is a very nice guy that cares about his students. He's willing to help you in the assignments. Gives out 8-9 assignments which at the end all goes to your proposal. I must be honest the course overall is hard but the professor does his best to help. Best professor for SOC 346. Don't expect an easy ride for SOC 346.

Highly recommend this professor, I was backed up on my assignment due to health issues, this professor took the time out of his busy schedule to assist me in bring my assignment up to date. Sure A once all assignments are submitted. You can even go in early or stay after class to be complete assignment. Very devoted professor to his students!

He is a great teacher. He would stay with a group after class if you need help, does not matter for how many hours. He would repeat 10 times what he has thought if need the help...he is one of the best!

All I can say if you are looking for an easy A take this class. All you have to do is do all your assignments homework & labs. He gives you extra credit just so that all his students pass. He allow you to redo all assignments, just so that you can pass. It's best to talk to him after class if you don't understand something. Loved this professor

The profesor can be confusing sometimes but he is always there to help if needed. Easy to pass with good grade. We did not get any exams but we had lots of HW and labs to do. Grading is a little confusing at times. Other then that great professor to pass.

Best Sociology professors at Lehman College!

This professor knows what he is doing, money well spent. I learned a lot from this professor he is understanding and is clear in his notes as well as his lectures. His exams are multiple choice, T/F w/explanation and essay all taken from the comfort of your home! I would take him for every class if possible.

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR ! Yes he gives a lot of homework but he goes over everything. He is very clear and he makes the class interesting. Show up to class do your homework and you will do great.

Professor Benefo is a great professor, I'm glad I took his class. His lectures are very interesting, and his assignments are doable. Some low stake assignments, 2 high stake assignments, midterm and final. Take him .. You won't regret it, he's a great professor!

Great professor. He uses every single minute of class so don't expect to leave early or get a break. Do the work and participate and passing is simple. He gives low stakes assignments every class, with extra credit at some point in the semester. Take him you will learn a lot.

Exams are tricky , meant to confuse you a little bit. Other than that just come to class do the work, and participate. Great class learned a lot.

His written feedback is hard to understand, but if work is turned on time, he gives you a fair amount of time to revise for a better grade. He is a hard grader but, he also makes the work simple in the sense where he explains all instructions very very thoroughly. He responds to emails fairly quickly. Doesnt seem flexible. I am very satisfied.

Labs are very long. Takes the whole class time (6-930pm). Sick from corona virus, I missed a few classes, and that throw me off so hard, I struggled to catch up, but he was understanding and graded fairly to late work. Struggling to keep up, I did the minimum to pass n opt to cr/nc. But I would advise not to do that bc its a core credit.

Kinda confused about why he got low ratings. He listens to students and explains. He also helps u WAY TOO MUCH on projects. Midterm n final are fair n it’s not bad tbh. I think it’s a good class. Professor Benefo is precise and detailed, and his assignments are well organized. Homework assignments involve computing, so please pay attention to the formulas. Stay on top of your work; he will only deduct points for wrong answers or late assignments. You will do weekly homework discussion boards and 2 exams. Great Professor Overall.

Professor Kofi is humorous and encourages thoughtful communication. I took his class last term, which included 14 low and 2 high-stakes assignments. He fairly penalizes late submissions and is approachable. I think he deserves a higher rating. Despite my initial hesitations, I'm glad I took his class. Remember to take ratings with a grain of salt.
