New and inexperienced professor who may have some difficulty teaching Physics properly. Has some kind of "professional" reason to refuse to curve, and in turn unprofessionally fails the majority of the students taking his class. Not completely terrible, but I'd recommend the choosing the better physics professors at FAU if you can. Good luck.

He wasn't terrible, it was mainly the class that was hard. The in-class physics demonstrations were fun and helpful. The clicker questions he provided were helpful also. As it was a summer class he did not have time to teach slowly and answer a lot of questions in detail.

If you dont have a nack for physics I would take it with someone else.He spends too much time deriving equations and none helping you understand how to do problems.Over the summer his class was really hard to get a decent grade in, maybe over the reg semester you would have more time to teach yourself, which is what you need to do in his class.

I took Physics 1 with Dr. Sorge. I would highly recommend him; he clearly explains concepts and helps students understand this difficult course. He is also my advisor (as I am a seeking a physics degree), and has been very helpful--he has even assisted me in applying to another university. Very helpful guy with LOTS of office hours if needed....

He is extremely helpful and clear. He gives a lot of great demonstrations that make the subject quiet clear. Class with him is a lot of fun and I highly reccomend it!

Take someone else! Took this class in the summer and found it to be a waste of my time and 500 dollars. He gives homework via the U of Texas and takes points off each time you get it wrong.THe clicker questions have to be answered fast so useless to if you are not quick thinkers. His tests are hard and he does not explain enough. I taught myself.

The absolute worst professor I have ever had. He accusses everyone of cheating constantly and will not give credit for anything. His lectures will not help you in anyway. Avoid this professor at all costs. He is rude and has so much attitude towards his students. You will also end up teaching yourself everything. There is no winning in this class.

Professor Sorge when giving criticism to discussion posts has largely gone about rudely. Rather than taking this as a moment to guide the student, he almost belittles them as a response. Idk if this is an attempt at jokes but it flies over my head most, if not all, the time and comes off as rude. Really unprofessional conduct.

Should avoid at all costs. He is very arrogant and doesn't answer his emails. Physics is hard, but he makes it harder.

The class is mostly self taught and not that hard to follow along with, but the professor is incredibly rude and unhelpful. Genuinely was surprised by some of the comments made on my discussion boards as well as my peers. Had backhanded responses and made me feel stupid for missing small details instead of correcting in an educational way.

Don't do it! He is known for tough grading and minimal feedback, often giving unexplained zeros. He relies on self-study via syllabus and textbook and lacks traditional lectures. His responses to questions are dismissive and condescending, creating a disrespectful classroom atmosphere unsupportive of student learning.

Avoid at all costs. Took online and I was noticing that I didn't score as high I wanted on quizzes. I look at the professor's feedback and I mainly had points deducted for not putting the formula. In the next quizzes I start applying his feedback and I noticed I started scoring lower and no improvement in quiz scores. Somehow you can't win.

One of the best professors I have had in college! He is very passionate about teaching and wants everyone to understand the concepts. He structures his class really nice and makes it very easy to follow along. With that being said his class is very challenging. Do not be fooled by open book tests-- they are MUCH harder than a normal test.

He's amazing! His online course is organized super well and you can tell he is passionate about what he's doing! He adds plenty of resources for you to succeed, connects physics to real life, and is super thorough. He is an incredible teacher; everything is super easy to understand. He sets you up for success, you just need to put in the work!

HORRIBLE, Just awful. My rating is as real as it get.Everyone in the group chat complaining. No matter how much work you show on the quiz, its never enough, don't let me start on his quiz grading. Running 5 marathons in 1 day is more achievable than scoring 100% on a quiz. Discussion boards are always back and worth, He never satisfied. NEVER AGAIN.

This might be the worst professor I have taken in my existence of living. The grading on the quizzes is insane. Nitpicking everything on those quizzes. The discussion posts are absolutely worse. You gotta talk to him as if you're some certified physicist just to get the point.

This class is old videos of him doing physics problems in a notebook. Get something wrong on a quiz you'll never know why, he will NEVER show you the answers or explain how to get them OR tell you why he marks you more than half off a problem when you have the right answer and show the work. Just "Where is the rest of your work" for every problem.

Dr. Sorge is passive aggressive + a tough cookie. But--Canvas is incredibly neat and organized, the point system he uses for grading is thorough, and Dr. Sorge knows his stuff. He uses LA meetings to encourage us to work in groups on a set of problems. I thought the course was easy. If you need help, he replies quick. 3-6h/week, MEMORIZE FORMULAS!!

HW has to be clearly written and he's kinda specific on grading. three exams, all take home. bunch of extra credit built within the exams. You can only message him through canvas and he's usually happy to answer any questions.
