This class is really easy. The grading consists of Capsim Simunaltion (8 rounds), 1 midterm, 1 final exam, and 1 Comp-XM. I would say the hardest part of this class is understanding how to use the simulation.

Professor Shafi is a really nice guy, very lenient and not harsh. He is willing to help you if you need it and very quick in responding to emails. The class is definitely not easy, but if you put in some work it is definitely manageable. 10 case discussions, Capsim group project, 2 midterms, and an individual Capsim simulation. Youre on your own after the first two weeks, you do weekly case discussions that are easy, doesnt provide a study guide for the midterms, capsim isnt that hard if you figure it out early on, compxm is much more difficult than capsim, do the extra case discussion questions to get the extra credit you wont regret it. In the beginning of the course the weekly quizzes were more opinion based. After hearing many other students struggling with the quizzes I spoke to the prof. He gladly changed the way the quizzes were formatted so that all students could succeed. As long as you talk to him he will work with you on any problems you may have. (MGMT370)

I took Professor Shafi for MGMT 385 and I can tell he has never taught in a big lecture hall before because his voice is not loud and he has an accent hard to understand. However he cares about the students offering office hours outside of class. Quizzes every week, 2 midterms, and 1 final. Just follow lectures and study guides, you'll be good.

This semester went by fast. The layout of his class is straight forward. He does have quizzes in class, but they are easy. There is 3 exams( 2 midterms, and 1 final) and a group project. For MGMT 370, this Professor was very informative about the topics and the class was pretty simple to follow along with. Professor Shafi, Is a kind and fair instructor and is understanding if students are having difficulties at home or with group members. Also very detail oriented in his lectures. MGMT 370 Cared about our understanding. Was very helpful when needed. Allowed students to give feedback throughout the course. Lessons were to the point and current. Gives a quiz every other class. Not too bad, 5 questions in 10 mins. Takes out 2 lowest scores. 2 midterms with a final exam along with a group project. All weighted 20% of grade.

I had this professor for 2 classes and he had the same layout for both which made it easier to not feel overwhelmed. He has pop quizzes, group project, extra credit, and 3 exams ( 2 midterms and final). If you do all the work you should pass the class. Would take him again.

The Proffesor is able to teach the martial clearly but it may be difficult to hear him you are sitting in the back. Even more the lecture notes that he provides are useful for the pop quizes he has every week.

I took Dr. Shafi's International Business class for Fall 22. He is pretty clear with the details of the syllabus from the beginning of the semester and upholds them throughout. An important group project is due at the end of the semester and quizzes are frequent, so attendance is necessary (this is where I may have had struggles with this class).

This professor has good lectures with real life applications. I like the textbook we used because it had graphs, examples and good definitions. We always had good discussion and were able to apply what we had learned the whole semester into our group project which was cool. This teacher is also available for office hours responds to emails.

My recommendation for students taking this class is to pay attention to all concepts covered in class as they are present in his quizzes which are randomly given during class. Midterms/Finals aren't too difficult as they cover same concepts on quizzes and in class.

Professor Shafi is great for each of my management classes and really works to make the curriculum fun and exciting to what is happening today.

Professor Shafi is an amazing professor. He cares about how well his students do in class, and will do everything he can to make sure you finish the semester with a good grade. Attendance is somewhat mandatory as he would have sign in sheets on days we had quizzes, so that he knew who showed up and who was just taking the quiz from home.

Really solid professor best I had the opportunity to take in my whole undergrad career. Not like others very lenient and understanding, run don't walk to this amazing professor!

I took Strategic Management Capstone (MGMT 693) with Professor Kourosh. Overall, he's a great professor that will get you thinking about business strategy concepts. You'll have class notes, two writing assignments, and two group projects. So choose your group wisely. Overall, great class and would highly recommend taking him for capstone.

Professor Shafi is very easy going. He knows his subject, during this class we had a group project with a few minutes presentation. A few quizzes on the the different chapters and sometimes attending class was required, other than that the class was very easy.

Professor Shafi was very passionate about his lectures. He lectured about companies and leaders and helped students consider alternative solutions to difficult management issues. I don't always speak up in classes but in Professor Shafi's class, I felt comfortable sharing my opinions and feeling listened to.

Professor Shafi would rotate between lectures and guest speaker depending on the topics covered. Topics would then need to be applied to two Individual papers and group presentations. The Professor is very constructive with his feedback, but allows ample feedback throughout the project period to solicit materials, assistance and feedback.

Prof Kourosh allows you to do your own research with his guidelines and his class discussions are very interesting. He listens well and provides his students guidance when they need advice on how to do something. 10/10 would take another class with him again.

The professor is very clear on his grading criteria and will help you find materials for your group project. But he lets you come to your own conclusions with your reports. Took MGMT 370, now in MGMT 499 (Capstone). In the capstone, conducted a 10-page research group, collaborated with partners, and delivered a 7-minute presentation. Learned a lot during the research. If you're looking for a place to learn and have fun, I recommend Kourush Kourosh Shafi.

I've taken both mgmt 370 & mgmt 499 with this professor and have enjoyed both! He's a really great professor and really wants his students to succeed! Being present for quizzes is very important and lectures are interesting!

This is the second class I've taken with this professor, and I appreciate the insight of his lectures and how he brings in case studies and real-world examples. He is helpful in offering feedback and guidance for presentations and reports before and after submission.

I love to take this class, and I has learnt a lot from his class. Group project connect all members group together, and my professor help and give good feedbacks to our project. He is helpful and nicely to give all suggestion on my individual essay. i am really appreciated for his teaching and help.

Professor Shafi is a great professor took him for MTGM 693. The articles, case studies, and class materials are guidelines to the individual papers and the group projects assignments. Professor provides feedback and gets you thinking about business strategies and opportunities by applying the concepts learned in class. Strongly recommend!

I enjoyed his class! Liked how there were different guest speakers for some class sessions. We did two group projects for this session and after the presentations, I appreciated the feedback he would give on our project/PowerPoint presentations.

Overall, this was a great last course to take for my MBA program. Professor Shafi is very knowledgeable and provides valuable insights towards business strategy. There are no exams, but instead two group projects and class notes due weekly. He was also understanding if matters arose. It was a manageable course for folks in their final semesters!

Professor Shafi brings real-world insights through guest speakers. The class focuses on discussions, not just grades. unstuck ai was a great study tool alongside the textbook-free format.

3 Midterms and a fun group project that is 20% of your grade. There were around 8 pop quizzes used to take attendance and check your knowledge. He drops the lowest two scores which is helpful if you couldn't make it to class or did badly on one. Very accessible by email and Professor Shafi wants to help you the best he can. This professor cares about his students. He engages with everyone to confirm everyones understanding of topics, reaches out for reminders of deadlines and is very understanding if life gets in the way. 2 midterms and one final that requires lockdown browser, no webcam. 8 small 5 question quiz that he gives minimal notice ahead of time.

Teacher is fair and kind. I'm a student athlete and he kept that in mind when grading and giving me time to do work. Grading was also good and class wasn't difficult or unclear at all.

Overall a great professor, He really cares about his students success and will help you get through the semester. Take this class it will be very helpful. As long as you show up and participate and do your work you will do just fine.

Professor Kourosh is very understanding and easy to communicate with. The class should be easy if you pay attention to his lecture and take proper notes. Regarding the group project, you should be fine if you have a good group that does their part.

Professor Shafi really cares a lot about what you learn. Class isn't too hard: 3 tests (including a final - with questions coming from past quizzes, lecture slides, and class discussions), ~8 quizzes, class discussions, group project (including a 8-10 pg paper + group presentation). Just ask him anything and he will gladly answer your questions.

Honestly as long as you attend class and do the assignments the class we be easy to follow with. Professor is very open to working and speaking with students even outside of class, and he cares alot about students and the workload. Not much homework, some quizzes fairly simple, and a group project.

One of the better professors I've had at CSUEB. He is very understanding and incorporates students' feedback well. There's one group project, so make sure to be part of a good group. For the rest of the course, if you show up to class and follow along with the material, you will do just fine on the quizzes, the midterms, and the final.

By far the best professor I've taken at CSUEB. He challenges his students but supports us throughout the course. He explains topics thoroughly. The group project was fun. We were given the choice to pick the topic that relates to lectured topics. I would definitely register for his class again!

Professor Shafi is really caring and is very passionate about the subject he teaches and he really cares about his students as well. We have a group project that runs throughout the semester and it is a pretty fun project and as long as you have a good group, it will be pretty fun to research and work together. I would highly recommend this class!
