Very good teacher
He was a great teacher. Know the study guide like the back of your hand and you will ace the exams. He has a lot of knowledge about his subject and is always willing to help.
he publically humiliated a friend of mine and made her cry right in the middle of class. whats worse, she didnt even do what he accused her of. later he appologized, but still unneccesary to treat the class like 1st grade.
I had him for SOC 101 and 201(minority relations) and he was really good. He knows his stuff, but sometimes forgets that we're not all Sociology majors. If you don't miss any class you get 40pts extra credit, that was a bonus!
I had Mr. Archer for Soc. 101 and his test can seem hard if you don't study, but as far as homework and outside work, the class is easy.
Offers lots of extra credit opportunities!
One of the best professors any college could ever hope for. Made SOC 101 a highly enjoyable experience.
great teacher, good class tests are kind of hard so study for them
It was really easy, but most of the assignments still had a point. :) The best thing about him is that he really cares about your grade and understands that things happen.
great teacher, very informative and wise
He was a greeat teacher and fairly easy. If you turned your work in a time and study for the test you should do well. he gives alot of extra credit too. he also keeps it interesting by doing group acticves once in a while.
Same boring stuff everyday. Very timid and BORING!! Take him if you enjoy falling asleep everyday.
just not a good teacher
Tests are easy. They are word for word from the review sheets. Lots of extra credit. He is rather boring, though.
Anyone who can't pass this class or thinks it's hard is just pathetic. Archer was the best instructor, take some notes and just study the study guides, it's easy to pass. Just put a little effort in it and you'll do fine.
he's super nice!!
I took it online, he was a great teacher and a great help!
the class is often boring, but he tries to make it interesting sometimes... nice guy, and very easy class

He's a good teacher, and the class is very easy. The best way to get through it is to start some interesting class discussions. Ask him how he proposed to his wife, that's a good one.
awesome class. so helpful if needed. very understanding...
I like this class a lot. I started off really lazy in it but I geared up and even if you start off in the C range you can easilly pull yourself back up to an A. Great class, good times.
Great experience
great teacher, I think he puts up with too much tho.
has a realy passion for teaching... and if you need any help he will help you...
I really enjoyed going to this class. And he will def answer and questions and help you if you ever need it. Gives tons of e.c.
He can be a bit dry at times but always gives great examples and detailed notes. Will always help and will stay after class long after it is over to help out.
He looks like Kurt Russel from " Miracle " Great teacher, great class when being taught, very helpful, very clear, easy if you put the effort into it..recommend archer for any class you can get him for.
when he talks he looks at his papers, and he talks really soft. Bring grandmas hearing aid.
He is way too easy. His teaching method is o.k. but he needs to speak up. There is never enough time for lectures. Then he lets people speak when they have nothing interesting to say... or they give their whole life story, how annoying. I would not take his class knowing what I know now... I wanted a college class not a "FLUFF" class!
I haven't learned anything;I A.) Already knew or B.) Could have looked up... the information. The book will give you half of a theory, why make us buy a book that is unfounded. On top of that we rarely learn the context. I have a lot of little things that I hate about the class. So far I only learned to do essays like outlines. Maybe few tidbits
Very soft spoken during lectures, learned a lot in his class. Not a typical SC4 class, you actually have to do work.
I thought the subject material was very interesting, but the class right in the morning and I found it was hard to concentrate. Mr. Archer is an excellent teacher and he loves what he does but talks slightly monotoned, I would recommend the class but later in the day.
I liked Professor Archer... a really nice guy; however, I think he wasted time on some areas. For example he gets people in groups to talk about what topic they are doing for their research paper... but people either goof off or we could look up the info for the topic! I just don't see the point. MORE DEBATES PROF. ARCHER = MORE FUN!!! Overall good
Very nice..lot's of work but well worth it...pretty much guaranteed a good grade unless you slack...tons of extra credit opportunities...
Awesome teacher! He teaches like an actual college professor and doesn't dumb his class down. He sets high standards, but they are completely achievable! If you take the time to read his outlines and take notes, you'll be fine. GREAT TEACHER!
I think Mr.Archer is a good teacher. But it just seems like we're always rushed. I do recommend him. (REMEMBER: He has a 200 PT. Research paper due on Children issues of the World. GOOD LUCK!)
Great teacher, I've never met a man who can stay so impartial in a debate he is really great. Good class you learn alot, take it if possible. Berger
Awesome teacher who gave a ton of extra credit opportunities. As long as you do your homework and take adequate notes, you should be fine
Archer was a pretty good teacher who gave a lot of time for homework and was always there to help. Lots of extra credit oppertunities and could redo papers with a bad grade. Overall Good Quality.
Class is very easy. As long as your there everyday and take good notes. Exams are easy gives you a review sheet with the essay questions so you know what is going to be one there. I have over the ponts possible. Offers lots of extra credit. Very easy class.
Mr. Archer was a great teacher. Easy to talk to and took time to answer questions when they were presented. Made the class interesting and enjoyable. No reason not to pass with an "A". Take good notes and study in a group and do your essay questions first, get them out of the way.
VERY easy class. wayyy alot of extra credit opportuities!!no reason you should have anything lower than an A. Didn't really have to read the book. Teacher is kind of too quiet sometimes, and sometimes tries to teach to much at once, but its a very informative class, you can learn a lot of you pay attention!
Take this teacher if you get the chance! He's really laid back and really nice. You'll like the class no matter what.
Mr Archer is a great guy. he keeps his class very interesting and has alot of really cool experiences to tell about. He is very respectful, clear on his lessons and expectations, and a down to earth guy.
Mr Archer is an awesome guy. He is very respectful, clear on his lessons and expectations, and a down to earth guy. His class is pretty interesting too and he has alot of cool experiences to tell about.
This class is a joke. You are required to buy books you don't need, he dosen't warn you about book report until last minute, and hasn't had a lot of experience dealing with minorities. When confronted with a difference of opinion, he doesn't want to hear it. This class should be taught by someone else.
He appears to have done the course on memory. The textbooks are almost not used, and his presentation of infomation is inaccurate. Opinions are not wanted or encouraged. The class could be an engaging experience, but his lack of real life experience and narrow opinions leave the student wanting more. Another instructor should teach this class.
class is pretty easy. gives u a review for tests. goes over things well. lots of extra credit.(i think i had over 100% at one point). all around nice guy.
One of the only teachers that seems to really care about his students. Lots of extra credit. Doesn't use the book that much, he does give alot of handouts. He also hands out review sheets before the Exams, which is very helpful.
Extremely easy teacher! His lectures are boring. I don't reccomend taking a four hour class with him. He's extremely helpful, except he doesn't return e-mails on time. He offers tons of extra credit. He hands out study guides for the the tests and quizzes which you will need. He doesn't care about texting which is a plus in those long classes!
Loved the class going to take him again in the winter. Though he does not use the textbook directly alot of the handouts come from information in the book and other credible resources. I enjoyed the fact that we had other literature to compare to the book. My only regret is that I took it in the summer and was only in the class for six weeks.
his class is really boring, his test use to be multiple choice but now he changed them so that they are fill in the blank with short answer and you have to write a huge essay all in the hour that you have. i didnt like the class so i just dropped it
all these people are hatters because they are to lazy to try. he has long exams yes but all the answers are on the review you just have to actually i dont know READ them! i thought he was a great teacher and i learned alot! lectures can get boring though but stilled aced the class
Take notes on his lectures because all the tests are on them. As long as you do the work and study every now and then you will pass and do fine! Pretty easy class.
He is a very good teacher, who deals with a lot of crap from students who think they are still in high school. He is a nice guy and willing to work with students. All his classes are easy A's!
He's a tough teacher. Requires homework every week, if not then you have a quiz or test! He is a nice teacher and really knows his material but be prepared to work your butt off! Lots of reading too. Test are fill-in, multiple and short answer.
Incoherent, you have no idea what's important enough to note. Book only has half the information you need, so extremely hard to study for tests. Asked him to write on the board what's important to remember, now he talks to us like we're two. NOT a 101 class. Never taking him again.
He seems to feel as if he is at Harvard. His study guides are hardly that, they can be multiple pages long and don't help you get ready at all. my entire class scored miserably on his first few exams and his response was "This isn't high school and I won't spoon feed you." Also required us to buy an additional book. If you're sane avoid this class.
Easy class if you put in an honest effort. He is more than accomodating for the many slackers in my class who miss all the time. Most in my class think it is hard, but they're just being lazy. You will have an exam or quiz or homework every week, and lots of extra credit available. Ended up with an A-, but could have easily received an A
He seems like an ok guy, his teacher skills however are few and far between. This class is noting but a worksheet and irrelevant lecture every time. He is very boring and I find it hard to focus in this class. He doesn't really explain himself very well, and when he lectures, it's difficult to pick out what's important.
Knowledgeable.Incorporates real life examples.Wants your success lots of extra credit.fill in the blank study guides, which he helps you fill out.gives it back as a quiz, but also allows you to work in groups.Expects you to read the chapterbut what college professor doesn?t?Easy A.If you have a will,he will help you find a way
His class was very easy, All of his test and quizzes are based off of study guides he gives you, usually he gives you the direct answers to the study guides, very easy to pass if you pay attention.
This man knows his stuff, yes, but what he lacks is teaching ability. Needs to understand he is teaching a 101 class. Although I passed the class with an A it was a terrible experiance.
Overall this professor wasn't as bad as I expected him to be. Honestly if you pay attention & do your work you'll get an A. Just don't expect to slack off. There are a few test & a couple of short easy assignments all together. He also gives you frequent progress reports so if you do bad in this class its your own fault.
This is one of the worst classes I've ever had. I'm an A student and I come to class prepared each day. However, this professor hardly gave any guidelines for projects and often messed up my grade. He never responds to email in a timely manner, and I even found him to be rude at times. I would find another professor if I were to take this again.
I liked him very much. I thought his instructions were very clear and he was easy to follow. Very easy instructor-would take him again.
I liked this teacher, he made great examples and being a student who was still a junior in high school I felt this class was a breeze. The tests would be difficult for someone who didn't study but if you do you'll do fine. Just listen and take good notes, follow guidelines, and you will do fine.
SOC 101 with Kraig Archer was a very enlightening course for me. It greatly expanded my view of society. Prof Archer is very knowledgeable and an efficient lecturer. He actively seeks feedback from the students and regulates class discussion. His use of PowerPoint aids in note taking. He is easy to meet/contact out of class for help or questions.
He was an okay person I didn't care for his teaching style, he should have been more together with projects and exams
A lot of work in class but is fair
Mostly all note taking. Not too hard. He's pretty easy going.
He's vry nice and will work w/u BUT his lectures r so confusing that u don't know what to take away.He requires reading besides textbooks and his test ?s are confusing n not@all true to the text&guides.I'm an A student in PTK but this class made no sense to me the way it was taught so I'm retaking with a diff teacher.Don't take him if u can avoid!
Prof Archer is a very good teacher. He knows his stuff, and he expects you to do the same. If you take good notes, and read your book, and study for the tests, you'll do fine.
I had a bad run in with this professor the second week, but I stood my ground and he respected that. His lectures are confusing, but just take a lot of notes. His test are super easy and he gives a very detailed study guide. Don't be lazy and you will pass with an A.
He's a really good and very friendly teacher. Take good notes and you should do fine. The tests are very easy
This class is interesting and really not a hard class. It was one of the first class I've taken at sc4
Mr. Archer was an excellent teacher when I took the course. He was very zealous and made the class interesting. He was very understanding if a student had a problem and had many anecdotes that made it easier to link terms/concepts together.
Prof Archer is a pretty good guy who genuinely wants to help students learn. I had no problem s with him at all and found the class to be interesting. He can be long winded and his notes are very, very long but as long as you pay attention and follow his study guides and put in the work you will be fine.
His class was easy and the tests were easy as long as you study the review and pay attention to his lectures. But if you have a question and want to email him, I wouldn't even bother. He doesn't respond.
Wouldn't take a class with this teacher again. He doesn't respond to emails, doesnt like to be fair. If you miss a class and have a quiz next day, you still have to take it, even if you were not present the day everyone else got work. Pretty rude of a teacher. I have never disliked a teacher til now.
Kraig is a great professor, very helpful, kind, and cares about his students passing. I had some health issues and had to miss a lot of his classes and he worked very closely with me to help me pass and made sure I knew what was happening by staying in touch when I couldn't be there. I really respect him, he's a very nice guy and wonderful teacher.
Don't be lazy, and participate and you will do great. Make sure to take notes during lectures. He gives extra credit for showing up to class. Great teacher, sometimes his lectures were boring, but other times they were super interesting.
He is a wonderful man that really cares about the topics he discusses. He has you write essays and keeps the class interesting.
Professor Archer's class was very insightful, he's a cool guy and will help you with anything you need. Expect to take the time out of class to do the readings and homework assignments. He can also be flexible and reasonable with due dates, but you need to put in the effort as well. you will do good if you make this class a priority.
Pretty easy class overall. Lets you use a note card on the exams, which is just the homework and quizzes compiled into one. The homework is annoying, but just put some effort into it and he's a pretty fair grader.
Good guy Good Teacher. Test are not very fun but he is a good teacher and you will pass.
He expects you to read a lot and his Q&A sessions demand that you know the material. I usually skim the material and had to rely on my friends for help. You get to take quizzes as a group.
He was not very organized from day one. In the syllabus there was no chapters in the book to pre read, and on the first day he had us do exercises that had nothing to do with Sociology. I don't recommend taking this class with him as the professor.
We did some cool projects and he really helped me understand the basic concepts of soc.
He is really good at answering any questions you may have and most of the time with the homework, you get the answers from his power points.
Fair grader and easy class to pass if you put a little effort into it. Easy homework, a lot of reading, also gives out extra credit. He has been late to almost every single class; not talking a few minutes here and there, anywhere from 8 to 20 minutes late.
He is very boring to listen to all lecture. Nice man but not a good teacher. Too much homework gives it to you and cant be found in any textbook or reading given to us. 10/10 don't recommend. I get straight A's in most classes and rcived a c
Interesting class but not too difficult either. Lots of group quizzes and extra credit offered. Study the homework packets since it's basically the quiz/test.
Lectures a lot so you can get a lot of notes but he gives a lot of quizzes, exams, projects, and essays but is an easy grader. Quizzes are usually in groups and study guides are given. The lectures are boring though
Great teacher, for the most part, there are a lot of lectures but he makes it entertaining. The study guides, however, are very difficult to follow and some of the answers you cant find. For the most part, if you do the work and pay attention it's easy.
A very sweet man who clearly cares about his subject and students. Although I thought his class was almost too easy, he made this class fun and thought provoking. He has a clear political bias, but never forced it on the class. He actually made us think critically about society, which should be the goal of any sociology class.
Hes a great professor- but dose give out alot of reading and make sure you pay attention in the lectures the answers fly by- the way he does his quizes are a little different then normal. He gives good feedback and does offer extra credit if needed.
Lectures non stop but lets you take quizzes in groups.
I think he was an average-to-great professor. He was a bit unorganized, however he always tried to make up for it the best that he could. After the first or second exam, he takes a week to ask each and every student what he can do better to help prepare them for the next exam.
He is a really nice guy but wow his class is really boring personally I blame the subject. He has group quizzes which are ok if you are in a group with people who actually study but if not your on your own there ... write everything down during lectures because the quiz and exam guides are sometimes word for word what the slide says
Class is pretty boring. I wouldnt say its the teachers fault. Its more the subject. A TON of information in the lectures and he does go by fast. But they do mean a lot to tests/quizzes. He is very passionate about his work. The biggest things that bugs me is the fast/heavy lectures and the fact that you cant see your current grade.
I loved this class, it was my first college course ever taken and it was a great one to take! I was interested with the subject and enjoyed talking in discussion, I was really inspired and I would 10/10 recommend taking a course with him, sociology as it is is interesting but he made it enjoyable to learn about it
Mr Archer is a wonderful Professor! I am so thankful for the opportunity to have him! He is very passionate about the subject he teaches and gives lots of extra credit opportunities! If you do your work and go to class you will get an A! He is very caring and kind and as well understanding! Need more professors like him!
Professor Archer is very caring and really looks out for his students. Archer lectures a lot but you can tell he is interested in marriage and family. There is only one presentation at the end.
He is very nice and class is mostly lectures with some videos. The quizzes are group quizzes so you dont need to stress about those but the test are harder. Theres written responses, fill in the blank, and multiple choice. Only homework is extra credit and theres one project at the end. If you study and show up for the lectures youll get an A.
He is a very nice man that cares for his students, he tries to get to know you. His lectures are thorough and directly tell you stuff that will be on the test. If that's not good enough, he also gives you very thorough study guides that practically have the entire test on them. Some quizzes he lets you take in groups. Not a lot of homework.
This class is bang for your buck. I can tell that the curriculum was finely crafted over years of experience. Theory is realized through the study of real-world examples and his passionate advocacy. He hands out extra credit like candy and allows people to improve exam grades. The class got progressively easier as he reacted to low grades.
Professor Archer was a nice guy and good to learn from, but he was so unorganized. On the group quizzes, my group always got different grades, so many things went missing, and I ended up dropping a letter grade because he couldn't find my exam. He offers extra credit, but if you take him I suggest making sure you document everything you turn in.
Very boring and a lot of the exam material is not on the study guide. Tests were quite difficult.
The professor leaves a good impression.
He was a very friendly teacher for my class. The study guides were similar to the tests. He offered to help students outside of class and gave extra credit. Very passionate about what he teaches.
Professor Archer is one of my favorite professors. He is EXTREMELY understanding, and he understands that people have a life as well, and that things can pop up and happen. His lectures contain useful information, and you will get an easy A. The review sheets he gives for exams are extremely helpful, and he really just wants what's best for you.
He can ramble a little during lectures but generally the material is interesting. He's pretty funny and we did some interesting group activities. He's also really kind and caring about his students - I had many good conversations with him outside of class about sociology and other topics. Genuinely a nice, caring guy.
He gives out a ton of papers that are long to read, it might just be me but I thought the subject was very boring, he is a nice guy just the class is very monotonous.
Mr. Archer is a great professor for anyone looking to take sociology. He is one of the few professors that I have found who actually shows love for what they are doing and definitely cares about his students. Although there are a lot of lectures, they are manageable and he keeps them interesting by discussing current topics that can be related.
If I could give this Professor a 0 I would. Archer is a boring professor to begin with and expects you to listen to a 3 hour lecture on stuff thats not even relevant to the course. Not only that but he also discriminates students based on their career choice. Especially criminal justice students. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Mr. Archer is a very nice guy outside of class and I've had lots of good conversations with him after class but his teaching style is very chaotic and random. He is not organized at all and his lectures show it. He is an easy grader but his grading system is confusing. If you are an organized person who needs structure Archer is not the guy for you
I am taking Professor Archer again! Great class participation! We discussed ongoing social matters. He listened and gave feedback, whether he agreed or not. The quizzes are grouped with approximately 3 classmates and are about 20 questions. His Study Guides (for quizzes & exams) reduced my test stress anxiety! Extra credit available! He cares!
I really enjoyed professor Archer for both my Soc101 and 110 courses. The lectures can get boring at times but prof Archer is always ready to help you. He loves giving extra credit for pretty much anything and everything. You literally cannot fail his courses if you come to class and pay attention!
Professor Archer truly cares about his students in the classroom and beyond, he is very understanding that we also have other things going on outside the classroom. We did a lot of fun group projects that broke up the lecture part of class. We had a few tests that could be completed with partners.
Mr Archer is a very nice guy but he has no idea how to teach his class. He gives outs loads of papers and does not go over them. He expects you to know his lectures before he covers them.I found the class to be pretty boring .
Proffesor Archer was very kind, he would make jokes and was understanding of outside activities and reasonable on due dates. However, he is very disorangized. At times we would be held thirty minutes after class then he would give us papers and homework. If possible I would give him an 2.5. I wouldn't take this class again.
He was consistently late. He lost over 6 people's 200pt projects. His lectures are disorganized. There is also a group project where he makes you hug him. I contacted his superiors and they did nothing. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASSES.
I thoroughly enjoyed Prof. Archer's class. As long as you pay attention to lectures and take notes during, you are set up for success for both group quizzes and exams. The reading from the textbook is also important but majority of test material is from lectures. He can get off topic from time to time but always circles back to the topic at hand.
Really liked this professor, very funny, enjoyed this class.
he is very nice and teaches his corse very well, he gives good exam reviews to make sure all students do well on his exams
Mr. Archer is very nice and his class was an easy course. He gives great study guides for you to do well on your quizzes and exams. His lectures are very informational and teach you exactly what you need to know and more. I would recommend taking one of Mr. Archers classes.
Prof. Archer is a very nice person and cares about his students. His class is just very unorganized. He also does not respond to emails. The lectures, homework, and quizzes set you up perfect for the exams, you just have to study them. He does hold class over every class because he gets off topic in class during his lectures.
Professor Archer was a really thorough and thoughtful professor for me to take. He always had time at the end of class if you had any questions. If that was not the case he would make time for you later. I really enjoyed the class content as well.
Mr.Archer is very knowledgeable about the topics he covers. Gives the opportunity for lots of extra credit that is relevant to topics. Gives reviews and quizzes that help you to take the exam. He allows you to make up work or exams that you miss. Overall I enjoyed the class and would definitely recommend taking it with Professor Archer.
I completed his Social Psychology class in Dec. 2022.Last winter I completed his Principles of Sociology class. Lectures often times involve real life scenarios for easier relation to topics covered. He provides handouts and PP slides. Lots of opportunity for extra credit. Very helpful exam review guides. Great Professor!
I took the SOC101 online class. Listen to the lectures, take notes, there wasn't much homework. Professor Archer gives so many opportunities for extra credit! He doesn't utilize canvas much, but I didn't have a problem with that. I did not find the structure confusing nor his point system. I would take Professor Archer again; he is very caring.
Mr. Archer was great! He really cares about his students and wants them to pass it's all about communicating with you professor. The last 3 tests can be used for extra credit or allows you to miss one due to unfortunate events. I would definitely take home again. Loved his class
Really nice and smart. Be ready to remind him about stuff like extra credit or anything missing. He needs an assistant. I took him fall 2022, but I really liked him! He will work with you.
Professor Archer is an outstanding teacher that really understands the material and it takes a few lectures to get in the groove but once you do it's really a great trip.
Mr. Archer is a very nice professor who cares about Sociology. However, he is sort of unorganized and VERY test heavy. We had about two assignments in the class and fifteen quizzes and tests. If I were to take this class again, I would make sure to be very organized and write good notes from the lecture, as you can use those on the test.
It is very clear that Mr. Archer cares a lot about sociology. His lectures are full of stories that help you understand the material. Unfortunately, the class felt disorganized, but it was manageable. Also, his lectures can be over 2 hours long, with up to 4 lectures posted in a week.
I liked him a lot, the work was pretty easy, We had one True or false quiz one matching quiz, and one exam (open notes) Every week (I took him as a two-month course) (online) He provided lectures and YouTube videos to watch, so it was fun. I needed the online textbook however I didn't need the "Ripples" book
Professor Archer cared greatly about his students, and that showed with the amount of leeway and extra credit offered. Although, his lectures that were posted biweekly were very hard to follow, long, and often went off task. It often felt like a hit or miss with whether or not he was going to respond to your email, which became frustrating.
hes a nice and supportive human being and really wants his students to succeed and achieve their goals and overall help improve.
He is a very caring, passionate professor who clearly cares about what he is teaching. His class is very nicely structured and the way he covers topics is very engaging. Each week we had a true/false and matching quiz with a 30 question multiple choice exam and written questions. He offers LOTS of extra credit in his lectures. Overall great dude!
I really enjoyed Mr. Archer's online Sociology 101 class. It was lecture heavy and there was quite a bit of work, but if you put your time into it, your grades will reflect that. He was very supportive and encouraging in his responses and gave lots of extra credit. He also gives review sheets that will help you ace every test. Would take it again!
Though the work can be overwhelming if you procrastinate, you will find that K. Archer gives amazing feedback and lots of opportunities for extra credit.
I took SOC-110 online. Professor Archer gives good lectures & explains things in a way that is easy to understand. The content of the materials is very interesting to learn. He gives enough time to read the text and listen to the lectures before giving quizzes and exams. He cares about the students and is willing to work with anyone who needs help.
Archer's SOC101 class has engaging lectures, but can be heavy on work. Using Unstuck study alongside the textbook helped me stay on top of things and ace the exams.
Great teacher, offers extra credit and communication is very good. He is very understanding and gracious. I strongly recommend this teacher all around especially for athletes because if you get the work done and give effort he will work with you.
Mr. Archer was an amazing professor, and his class was an absolute dream to take. He ensures that each topic is easy to understand, will help with any questions a person has, and is quick to respond to emails. The courseload was not daunting and quite manageable. If you watch the lectures, read the material, and take good notes, you will be fine.
Mr. Archer was a fine professor minus the fact all of his lectures and announcements were reused from 2021 and all the dates were wrong which didn't match up making it confusing when assignments were due.
He gave out lots of papers to the point where my folder for his class weighed a ton! He lectures a lot and often has typos on any handouts passed out to the class. Make sure to bring scantrons because you'll need them, and he never mentions them prior really. He can often be late to class so don't sweat it if you walk in late yourself.
I was very confused and disoriented when it came to due dates. He provided multiple different due dates for assignments and sometimes even accidentally changed last minute. The lessons also included multiple hour-long+ lectures that were difficult to stay focused with. I likely would not take this class again due to the large work load and stress.
Mr. Archer was a great teacher! I took his online sociology 101-60 course and I throughly enjoyed it. His class is very lecture heavy but all the information you need for the quizzes and exams are in there. He also offers LOTS of extra credit if needed and is quick to respond. 100% would take again!
Most of the information you need will be in his lectures. I liked that way better than having to search through different articles, but he does it in a way that you know what you need and how to prepare for upcoming quizzes and tests. All you have to do is pay attention and take notes, you're sure to get an A in his class.
Mr. Archer did a very good job teaching this class through lectures and extra videos/readings. I took the online course and anytime I needed help or had a question I would just email him and he would get back to me within 1-2 days. Study guides are very helpful when it comes to quizzes and tests. He also offers a lot of extra credit!
Very well-done class, a lot of lectures but they help out a lot with understanding the material, easy tests and notes.
I had a great semester in this class, I would definitely reccomend one of his courses. Mr.Archer provided many opportunities for extra credit and his lectures were both interesting and relevant to test material.
He used profanity in front of the whole class without regret, a ridiculous amount of handouts, did not use canvas at all, difficult to know where your grade stands, repeatedly shared his personal political bias and would claim to “debate” with students even though it's more of just arguing, very uncomfortable setting.
I believe Prof archer has the ability to be amazing. Sadly the course was disorganized and lacks efficiency. He posts announcements with assignments due at all hours of the day and night.1:54 am is an odd time to address the class.Very disheveled and unorganized. Online class and I feel as though he struggles with that. Nice guy, Poor instructor.
Very unorganized and inefficient. A great deal of writing assignments. So many opportunities for ec. The professor is Computer illiterate. Assigns items with due dates that have passed. He is personable but just so disorganized it shows.
I attempted to take this class twice with another teacher but that teacher made it impossible. This was my last class, and Mr. Archer was my last shot. I faced numerous health issues in my family and he was very understanding and kept in contact throughout the semester.Without patience and understanding I wouldn't have been able to finish my degree
Professor Archer is mediocre. The lectures are generally in excess of 2 hours and mostly his opinion. College should be unbiased and this class is clearly left leaning and extremely bias. Requiring online students to take tests in person and purchase books that present one sided opinions is ridiculous. Would not take again, and would not recommend.
