This class is killing me, but Prof. Clark tries her best to make sure her students do well. DO NOT skip her classes or you will be forever lost. Accounting 1 is not easy:(
very engaging professor
really loves teach intro acct... the course itself is challenging, but clark is a very good lecturer.
Clark rocks my socks off. She's awesome!
although she is a fairly good teacher, she is so unforgiving when it comes to makeups or extra credit, the words extra credit are not in her vocabulary. if you are not willing to come to every class and work really hard, dont take her class.
She has an excellent grasp on which material is easy to pick up and what's not and alocates lecture time accordingly. The small breakout groups are where you get any needed individual attention. However, you still MUST do the assignments and attend the lectures to make this class work.
Wonderful instructor. She actually knows what she's talking about - which is a refreshing change. If you are willing to learn the material, the class is no problem.
Very good professor. But u got to go to school do to well.
If you have to take this class take it with her. She makes the tests and the tests are directly from the study guides she passes out. Homever, if you don't want to work, then just don't take accounting dumba$$.
She's a good professor and her breakout sessions really help (so take her class 3 days a week), but Acct is just generally hard at GSU. What killed me were the last 2 tests which I THOUGHT I did well on. All her notes are on webct and in the breakout sessions they go over all the hw and answer any ques. you have.
She's great, I'd definitely recommend her.
Excellent teacher, but the class is no cakewalk, which is due more to the nature of accounting than any fault of her own. Very cheerful, helpful, informative and witty. Tests are multiple-choice and based off of pre-issued study guides. Homework is assigned nightly. No extra credit or make-up work offered.

she's always in a good mood and excited to teach the subject. goes by the slides, speaks very clearly, and has to have her diet dr.pepper. the exams are departmental, but they're always fair, and manageable to get through if you study.
she explains a hard subject very well. she knows what she's talking about and really trys to help you. you need to study though, lots!!
Grade consists of 2 midterms, a final, 12 homework assignments, 10 online quizes and in class participation. It is work, but it isn't that difficult. Just make sure to study for the tests. In general, she's nice and easy to understand. Her class isn't that boring most of the time.
The subject is hard but she tries to make it bearable. She's helpful and available at her office hours to clarify any questions!! Keep in mind the subject is not easy but she's an excellent teacher. Pay attention in class everything in the class will show up on the test.
Very passionate about the subject matter. Accounting for some can be seen as being dull or tedious, but she utilizes engaging examples and practice problems to make class time worthwhile and enjoyable.
Good teacher...but this lady will fail you so don't ****
Subject matter is a bit difficult, but she's a very helpful teacher. Explains everything clearly, but if she misses something...she's more than willing to clarify for you. Friendly.
Very thorough professor; explains topics clearly, responds very quickly to questions & concerns, & is available for any help. Uses the book religiously.
Great teacher I took her for maymester class. She's the best accounting teacher I've had so far. I wish she taught Acct 2102
Loved this teacher. She is clear, concise and effective. Highly recommended.
Great prof. i changed my major to accounting after taking her class. She knows her subject perfectly (she was a contributor to the text book you use in class). This is a hard class, but if you go to classes and breakouts and use the study guide, you will do very well. (Unless you are dumb, which she can do nothing about)
got first C in college b/c of this class. Tests are hard but depends on how you study. have to learn alot in 50 min. MWF w/ 300 people so its hard to ask questions in class b/c of the time frame b/c she lectures as if she's running out of time...very helpful during office hrs or after class. do all the required assignments. HW graded on effort
Hard Class . Make sure you go to class for participation points. Homework is graded on effort. She is helpful and replies to email quickly. The exams are 50 questions , 2hours to take it and all exams are on Saturday.
Very hard class, but a very helpful professor. Dont make the mistake I did, keep up with your readings and go to the breakout sessions.
She is a pretty good teacher at times, but sometimes it sounds like she's just nagging the whole time! She says she does not require attendance, yet she gives participation everyday. The tests are very unfair and difficult! Although if you must take ACCT 2101, take Kris Clark because all of the other teachers have no idea what is going to be on
A terrific, enthusiastic professor. A model for professors. Turns difficult material into an enjoyable challenge, instead of a dreaded class.
Great professor, Aced the Class. Don't listen to whiners on here. Just do and Understand ALL of your and read the book. It's just some business math that makes sense. Her Study guides are extremely helpful.
Okay so first let me say, this is the class that made me change my major from Business! She is an effective teacher and is probably one of the better teachers for Acct but I struggled in this class. I suggest taking this class with a lighter load of classes because it can be a headache! Most people take this class more than one anyway! Good luck!
She was a really great professor. Many people complain about the difficulty of the class, but its really not hard at all. Like any class, study for the tests and you will be fine. Make sure you look in detail at her study guides - they are very helpful. Also, make sure you go to class because they will really help you to understand the material.
My advice to anyone reading this is: Always show up for class and take advantage of every single point available, they add up quickly. For most people it's a hard class! For Business Majors it's a C- or better course. We started out with 300+ students and ended up with about 260. Work hard and you'll do well. Good luck
She a good prof. and her lecture notes are helpful in doing the homework. However you need to rely on the textbook for exam prep. But she does give a study guide before each test which tells you specifically what's gonna be on the test. Overall, I recommend you take her.
Professor Clark is absolutley useless. Her lecture notes make the material seem fun and easy...do not be fooled. When you actually take the exam you will be shockd on how hard it is. She also expects this class to be your life. No reason is good enough to miss class. Have a funeral to go to? Thats a zero. Having surgery? Zero. Stay far far away.
This class made me change my major. It's really hard. If you're planning to take this class make sure you give 150% because it will accumulate...If you miss one class it will take a lot to catch up! Full of homework, quiz and the exam is extremely hard! Stay away if you can!
This class is insanely hard but you must pass it with a C if you are a Business major. There is no such thing as an easy ACCT. class at Georgia State. She is probably the best one to take from if you suck at this stuff. Go to EVERY single class, do ALL quizzes, study A LOT for the exams, !! Do not miss ANYTHING! Then you will likely pass with a C.
She is great teacher and has a very good teaching methods. Make sure you go to class every time! Do your homework, it is really important to visit breakout sessions, you can understand a lot there. Clark gives extremely helpful study guides. Otherwise, she is a little bit cold as a person. Doesn't treat you personally, I guess because the classes a
1st of all take advantage of every possible point you can get! The class is extremely hard and you have 2 teach urself everything. ur lucky 2 get 1 example for an entire chapter. if it wasnt for breakout sessions u wouldnt learn anything. Final was the hardest i hve ever taken. No personal interest 4 the students whatsoever. Quizes r xtremly unfair
Decent class. She's very organized as she is an accountant. She is always enthused about teaching this subject. Not a difficult class at all.
Teacher is very helpful. The best professor at GSU
I love her. I took the summer session and she really break things down so that you can understand. I highly recommend her. I had an A. You have to study if you want a good grade. Acct is not hard but it's not a breeze class either. But take her, she is very good at what she does.
She really connects with the students. I took the summer session and the class just flew by. It's not an easy class, you have to read A LOT and stay on track! Her examples are very helpful. Great teacher. Our quizzes were online and we could use our books and had an hour. Exams are kinda hard, so study! Would recommend for first accounting class.
i took the summer 7 week session & really regret it. the material was hard, the concepts didn't come easily, but kris clark is very helpful & organized. she really understands what she teaches and can teach it a couple different ways to help all students. if u can, take the full semester b/c it gives u the extra time to study & learn the material.
I love her. she's a great teacher. Orgnized, helpfull, very kind. Highly recommond, take her class you will be enjoy it.
i love professor Clark! she's energetic and very helpful. Grading is done by a point scale and the homework she assigns are a big help on boosting the grade. I suggest if you take this class to study for at least a few days (not just one night). The tests can be tricky so you need to know your stuff well! I definitely recommend taking the course.
Fantastic professor. Really cares about you learning the material and doing well. I was a transient student taking her class and found that she was one of the best professors I have ever taken. Very funny and tries to make material interesting. Great professor-- definitely suggest taking her.
Great Prof. She definitely takes charge and knows her stuff. If you have any questions she'll answer them during office hours but its hard to get her attention in a class of 300+ students. She is very easy to understand and communicates well. Take her!
She knows her stuff. She is clear, organized and helpful. she is a great teacher. its hard to get class time with her 300+ students in one class. do your hw go to breakout sessions. and study weeks before the test to make a. class is hard but its acct and there's no easy way out. she makes it understandable and clear. she a great prof. take her!!!
This class is very very difficult.Since there were over 250 people in a single class you cannot get one on one attention.A lot of material is covered. There are only three exams including the final, and it weighs 80% of your grade in the class. The worst part is that the tests are very hard. no extra credit, all on Saturdays. 2hr long.final at 8am
I loved Professor Clark! She is such a gifted teacher and was able to make a difficult subject much easier to understand. Make sure you do your homework and go to the breakout sessions! And GO TO CLASS! This course is tough and you will understand the material much better under Professor Clark's instruction!
Ugh! HATED THIS CLASS! I'm an A student, and somehow the woman managed to pull my GPA down rediculously low. All she did was complain that no one goes to study sessions. I know accounting's hard regardless but come on! The only plus is your homeworks are 100s- if u turn them in. Take this only if you must! My condolences to all who have take ACCT 2
Tests ARE on Saterdays- u got 3 tests including the final- which should be noted: a FOURTH of my class did NOT complete in the amount of time she gave-and she still didn't curve- so be warned! Powerpoint is helpful, but she rambles. Studied three times as hard in this class than my others and still got a C. My advice? Pray!
great teacher...the class is not that hard, go to class and know how to do the problems on the homework and practice quizzes and you will be fine...if you can go to SI once a week, its extra practice that really helps
Very hard class with a very useless teacher. Worst part of it all is that tests are on Saturdays.
I am not an accounting major and have actually enjoyed this class thus far. Test are a bit difficult, but she's a great professor. 2 test on 4 chapters each and a comprehensive final. If you want to do well, you def have to put in some work! And go to the Breakout and SI Sessions!!! Incredibly helpful!!!
Her lectures are excellent. No need to read the awful book. Study the slides, take notes. To do well, go to class. The material is easy if you have strong algebraic skills. If not, go to the study and review sessions. Tests were fair. The final was filled with time consuming math. Overall, great class. She is a very effective teacher. A+
This class was difficult. Hwk every week, breakout problems almost every friday. Come to class because she counts participation points on your clicker. If you want to do really well in this class come to Supplimental Instruction. They help prepare you for the tests, which are difficult. Clark makes the information understabable and clear.
Class is very tedious, but all the HW and breakout sessions helps keep you on track. Tests are short but tricky. Medium effort is needed to make a good grad
Great teacher. Make sure you go to class to fully understand the course or till you hit your 40 points. Go to breakout and SI sessions. First test is more of concepts while the final is extremely time consuming math. IF she taught acct 2102 I wud definitely take her!! Practice ALOT before the tests. Bcos wat you think you know, you might not know
The worst class I've taken in my college career, and the only one to really take down my GPA. The whole course is a mess, so you really have to be on your toes to succeed. It will kick your butt, and she could care less
Best accounting teacher you'll ever have. As long as you go to class and breakout sessions you'll do fine. There are so many help options its impossible to fail unless you just don't try(I made a 97 on test 1). Her lectures are very clear and helpful. Attendance is required although you can miss three classes with no consequences. Slides are great!
Good professor. Does a great job of explaining concepts, and is helpful for the most part. Much studying and consistent attendance are required to do well in this class. The book is a must have.
Yikes! She was great but these test were awful. She gives you 2 free questions on every test, but it was an excuse not to fix the 6 bad questions on almost every test. You have to go to everything if you want to do well in this class, because the book is riddled with errors. GSU needs to fix this book cause it reduces the ability for success.
I thought she was a great professor. She made the material very clear! The course offers A LOT of different options for help. I did not go to any of the break out sessions and I read the book maybe 35% of the time and still got an A very close to an A+
Come to class, pay attention, do your best on the response pad questions, and do your homework. I never read the book, but i always did the homework. I also did the practice questions online and made sure I understood everyone of them before taking an exam. Almost got an A+.
She is extremely hard and very fast. She delivers class very professionally, but seems rushed when asked to help. This class has a lot of ops for points, but to get it all done consumes lots of time, so if you are a full-time student... don't take many classes the semester you decide to take accounting! Especially if you are not solid in algebra!
Great Prof! Would definitly recomend to others! Just make sure you do your homework and show up to class and pay attention!
hated this class. test are way too hard! went to every class & still failed.
The class was alright but it's so much material to cover and she goes over it so fast you don't have alot of time to understand what you went over in class before you move on to something different. Go to class and do all of the homework. Even if you BS the homework make it look like you did something on every problem.
The class is some what difficult but if you go to SI that will help you alot. Do all your homework and answer all the clicker questions. I got a B- in this class.
Professor Clark is one of the best professors I have ever had. The course was a bit difficult, but I was actually interested in learning more because of her. She requires for you to attend class on a regular basis. Attend the breakout sessions for homework and the SI's. Repetition is key when studying! Good Luck! =)
It's a difficult subject if you're not into numbers and theory. However, structure of class isn't bad. My complaint is with the professor because I tried to ask her for help when I had a fully loaded schedule, and she just told me that I need to set aside 3 hours a day for her course. She wasn't helpful and the class was stressful.
Great teacher for intro to acct. She really knows her stuff and gives great examples to help understand...there is a lot of work and only a couple of absences are allowed without penalty. I still hate accounting but she made it bearable.
Wonderful & dynamic professor! Tho the pace was fast & intensive (took it in the summer), she kept the lectures interesting & engaging(even @ 8 am!), was easy to approach, & was always helpful. Go to class, do the h/w, practice quizzes, go to office hours for help, & you'll do well. I wish I could clone her for all my other classes!
Professor Clark is very nice, but the lectures can be a bit challenging to understand because of the large size of material covered in such a short time.
There isn't anything to worry about with this class if you work at it. Do your homework, stay for the breakout sessions, print out the slides, writing sidenotes as she goes through them step by step. Gives study guides that have bullet points highlighting EVERYTHING you need to know for each exam! LISTEN IN CLASS! To sum her up - Very efficient.
This is the ideal professor. She is very nice, easy to understand, and will help you with anything you need help with. The class is not easy, but if you put in the work, she will do anything she can to help you out. She teaches this so well and simple, that it all becomes very easy. With some practice, you should be able to easily get an A.
Professor Clark is a good Professor. DO THE PRACTICE QUIZZES! They help immensely for the exam. Go to SI, and Break out sessions and you should be fine. She gives out a study guide so that helps.Another piece of advice: Get a study group going in this class! It helps a lot! I got an A-, so it's not impossible at all to do well in this class.
This class IS NOT an easy A! I studied like crazy for the tests and got B's on them! GO TO SI!!!! The SI teacher explains things better than the professor! Do the practice quiz and go to class for your participation points! She makes the tests with tricky questions so make sure you understand the concepts of everything! the first test's the hardest
i love her! she is extremely knowledgeable and teaches very well. she teaches like everyone is in kindergarten, she wants to make sure everyone understands and uses very helpful examples. u do have to go to class and pay attention, but she tries to make it interesting.
She is a good teacher and breaks accounting down into terms you can understand. The weekly break out sessions really helped me.... If you come to class and go to the break out sessions regularly you should do fine in this class
I'll be honest: this class was pretty damn tough. I got an A-, but not without lots of hard work. Go to every class, breakout session, and SI meeting to do well. Also, do the practice quizzes over and over again until you understand the material. Tests are hard, but they were not that bad honestly. The book is used for homework, but it sucks!
Wow, this class was extremely hard. You should take it with easier classes. Go to class, get ALL your clicker points. Do ALL your homework. You will really need those points. Tests are tricky so you need to be comfortable with the material. Do practice quizzes over and over, go to SI, and make a study group. It took all of that for me to get a B.
Well... the clicker attendance policy is a joke. In order to get counted present, you must answer every single clicker question. Once I stayed all class period and missed the last question and got counted absent. Also, expect to be at school early every Friday, and exams are on Saturday. Hard class. Hard Teacher. Boring Subject.
I took her for Maymester, She doesn't curve any grades but she was great at explaining things. I thought she was a good teacher. But I earned my first C ever in college. I am an honor student and I dont get C's so you can see how hard the course is.
Took fall 2010. accting is a hard subject. have to take for all business majors. got a C because i never really studied and never read the book. ATTEND SI SESSIONS. the reinforce the prof lectures. clark did baby us but that's because she wanted us to understand the material. she is nice even though she seems intimidating.
This is not a hard class. It is a time consuming class but if you put in the required effort it is not hard at all. Powerpoints posted online, practice exams online, detailed study guides for every exam, free SI sessions available every week. If you think this is a hard class try taking one at Emory or Ga Tech. GSU students are just lazy.
She is a great professor and is extremely knowledgeable. Study Study Study and do what she says. Not hard just time consuming. Highly recommended.
Best Accounting teacher you'll get but this is Accounting. It's not easy, in fact. . .if you're an aspiring business major this one class could derail that entire aspiration. The class is always 150+ so don't expect to get any personal time with her, but she's nice. She knows this class is hard and tries to help.
STUDY. TIME CONSUMING CLASS. CLASS IS NOT HARD. GO TO SI. VERY HELPFUL IF YOU ASK.
Ms Clark is great. Saturday tests, as everyone in ACCT 2101 has to take it at the same time. Grade breaks down as so- 2 midterms worth 275 pts, a final worth 300 pts, and a participation grade worth 150 pts, which you get by coming to class and using your clicker. Participation is a life-saver. If you put in the effort, you'll be fine.
She won't stop teaching until you get it! And she will teach the correct way. Attendance to use your responce pad is required. Also get your homework points, they will help you out in the end!
AWESOME teacher! Very helpful and great at explaining the material. Definitely study the response pad questions and do the online quizzes before the tests. Overall an easy class.
Dr. Clark is an awesome teacher! I took a 9 am Acct class and thought it would be terrible but Clark made Acct interesting. Clark is highly intelligent and explains the material thoroughly. She gives lots of examples in class and makes everything simple. Tests are tricky but she provides a study guide which is what the tests come from. Take her!
Dr. Clark is extremely knowledgeable and will help you if you go to office hours, SI sessions and Accounting lab. The class is basic foundation of accounting and she explains very throughly. Attendance is mandatory for the participation points. I wouldn't say this is an easy class and it will require to do the work outside of class and lot of study
Accounting is hard in general, but Professor Clark was super knowledgable and writes a good portion of the departmental exams. I recommend her but you really have to work hard!!
Review and print the power points before class and go to the SI sessions to reinforce the lesson and you can do great in this class. Ms. Clark answers questions that are posted to ULEARN quickly and clearly.
Account class you need not to miss any. It takes alot of outside studing. Ms. Clark is very good. too bad she doesn't teach 2102. I recommend taking her. she explains and have open hours after class if you dont get it.
Good Teacher. Easy class. Summer is a bit cramped though.
Very good professor! Take her for this course
The best accounting professor at GSU ! After this class , you will learn a lot and have a big picture and ideas about Accountancy
Professor Clark is really knowledgeable about the subject. Come to class its mandatory. Only thing is I wish she would have done more examples in class like the ones on the test. You have to spend a ton of time studying. Hard subject
She's excellent! You will be kicking yourself if you don't take her.
Best Accounting Professor at GSU! Only 3 tests & 150 Participation Points (10 points per class activity), so class attendance is a MUST!Pay attention to any/all problems that are worked out in class. You will see them on the exams.
An excellent professor!! I wish I could take her for 2102! She's very enthusiastic about accounting which was great. She used examples from the book but she also made her own. Going to class, attending SI sessions, practicing problems outside of class, are all keys to success for her class. A great introduction to my accounting career.
Overall she's a great teacher.she really knows her stuff and is always willing to explain something if you don't get it.you still need to study though.but if you need help you would do better to go to the accounting lab at Aderhold instead of SI
bEST ACCOUNTING PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD
Another Great Professor of the Robinson college! Prof Clark will probably be one of the best straight forwarded professor you will have. She is organized, easy to understand, and cares. She provides practice quizzes which are similar to the tests. You'll have to study hard with Lab and SI but overall I learn a lot from her.
She's a great teacher and very easy to follow. Her exams are hard but if you study you'll be just fine.
One of my favorite professors at GSU. She teaches a difficult subject with a lot of clarity. She does a good job of focusing on important concepts, and not overwhelming students with too much information at once. The class does move pretty fast, but you get outside support from the accounting lab if you need it. Glad I took her.
She is a good professor. However, she is not encouraging at all. I failed the first exam and she urgered me to drop her class. Obviously she doesn't put faith in her students. I worked really hard her class and made a B-. After failing the 1st exam the highest grade I could get was a B. Besides having no faith in her students she is well organized
Great teacher, hard subject. The accounting classes are very standardized. Pretty much each acct class at GSU is the same. Professor Clark breaks it down nice and simple and is very enthusiastic about teaching.
I took Acct 2101 with Clark. I made a C the first time I took the class. Never went to class, never studied, so not too shocked. Made an A- now. Study the bullets on study guide. Look them up and learn them. Go to class. 3 tests. 150 attendance points. I had a 86 going into final. Got a 100 on the final. Studied my butt off for it! Good luck!
She is very experienced and can be jaded with some questions and answer curtly, but knows her field. As far grading is very standardized and no room for mistakes. I would recommend her.
Acct 2105 is an easy class for anyone who is extremely good at math, like myself. I am a stat major who took this class as an elective. Professor Clark is an excellent teacher to have because she takes time to break down every piece of material, answers questions, and tell you how it relates to the real world of accounting.
She was good at explain concepts and giving you problems in class to prepare you for tests
BEST PROFESSOR! The class isn't hard, it is A LOT of information but she tries to simplify it the best she can. If you start the test study guides in advanced and study hard prior to the test you'll do well. I highly recommend going to class & spend time making sure you understand everything after every lecture. You CANNOT cram for Acct tests!!!!!!
Good teacher, but class is kind of hard if you are taking it for the first time. 50 Question tests on Saturday and they are quite tricky. This will not be an easy A for you. Many people end up with a C and barely pass!
Talks very fast and covers material quickly. You defintely need to read material ahead of time. The TA's in the Accunting lab help a lot. Professor Clark does not allow much time to ask questions and expects you to get help either in the lab or in SI. She is not very helpful, probably becasue there are 300 students in the class.
Prof Clark takes a ton of material and makes it manageable. She is straight forward, but nice. If you are a business major, you will go through her. Saturday tests are not pleasant, but that is the way it is. Show up and take notes and you will be fine.
She is not really a bad professor, she just teaches a tough subject with 300 or more students in the class. You really have to study for this class. If you are looking for an easy grade - this is not the person you should take.
She teaches the class like a traditional college class. No sugarcoating. She makes you do the studying, and gives you exactly what will be on the tests in her study guides. I got an A in this class because I studied and accounting just clicked for me. Do the practice quizzes and study guides and you should have no excuse to not get a B.
She is awesome! teaches by power points but only tells you what you really need to know, doesn't give you too much information. Study guides for each test and she tells you everything you need to know for test. But you still have to put time in and study the material.
good articulate professor. not an easy A. you have to put in a good amount of time to study for her class. do not wait til the last minute to study for her tests. they are accumulative. 3 tests. online work that counts as extra points. class isnt mandatory but she does do class activities. good professor either way.
She is an easy teacher. She gave us plenty of chances to make up work after the deadline. There are 2 tests and a final. If you study the tests are really easy. They are the same as the problems she goes over in class. She also gives study guides.
Very, VERY, authoritarian professer. One of those, "If I'm talking, you're not talking." type of people, probably was buliled as a kid and takes it out on us. It's almost the halfway point in the semester and I've yet to see her smile on her face. Too much stuff on study guide, hard tests. Study and take good notes and pray for a B grade.
She as a teacher isn't bad, but the class is hard, which isn't really her fault. She does go through the material pretty fast though, but she expects you to print out the powerpoints and bring them to class for this purpose. Just study hard. And don't cram. I mean it.
Show up to class with the notes printed out and pay attention, and you shouldn't have a problem. She's good at going over problems and examples, and she gives many chances to improve outside of class (SI twice weekly, accounting lab).
Professor Clark is awesome! She makes class fun and explains complicated activities very well. She takes attendance some classes through class activities worth 110 points, online homework 90 points, 2 tests worth 250 points each, and a final worth 300 points. This class is an easy A and I would take Professor Clark again.
This is a really hard class and Clark goes really fast. If you talk in class you get kicked out so no one asks any questions. SI and the Acct Lab are helpful and the study guide is helpful for exams.
A pet peeve of mine is when a professor says good morning to a lecture hall and they don't really say anything. Then, the professors says something like, "Oh, come on. That wasn't good enough. Let's say it again. GOOD MORNING!" She will do this. Every. Class. It makes me want to tear my ears off. That is all I have to say. Expect this people.
HORRIBLE!!!! Sadly if you're doing business you might have to take her but PLEASE find another professor! Incredibly boring lectures, very authoritative and power hungry, monotone voice, just a horrible professor. Avoid at all costs or your GPA will be at risk!!!
Professor Clark is one of the best professors I had. Don't miss class because she takes attendance through class activities worth 10 points each. Took it in Maymester and got an A+. The only things is she leaves things off the PowerPoint on purpose to encourage people to come to class. Prompt to reply to emails. Take her if you are an acct major.
Clark is easy if you go to class and pay attention. There are class activities that are used to take attendance. Accounting itself is a hard subject but if you put in effort, read the textbook, and ask questions, you'll be fine!
You know its going to be a tough class, but she makes it as straight forward as possible. Helps you with what will be on the test and explains everything very well.
Professor Clark is a good teacher, its just the subject matter itself is boring. She helps if you need. Is super nice, too. Don't talk in her class though or she will kick you out. Online assignments. Class Activities. 3 tests. That about sums it up.
One of my least favorite professors Ive ever taken. All of my pet peeves that teachers can do, she does. Blazes through her notes faster than you can write them down. Says you learn better with 20% writing and 80% listening, which is the opposite from how i learn best. Highly recommend a different teacher
Clark is a very good instructor. I've only heard 1 good review about her among many friends who have taken Accounting 2101, as well as taken her. But honestly, her lectures are clear and she gives great examples. The course itself is tough, and you need to study on your own but even so. Take a week before the exam to study, get A or B for sure.
Study for this class. It's not going to be easy. 3 Saturday tests, online homework, 2 Excel projects, & optional quizzes. Always go to class! You seriously can't depend on anyone for notes in a class that's about 350 people, even if you have friends there. & you need the info and examples to succeed. Incremental study before test is recommended.
The number rule to pass this class, is to not fall behind. You have to learn the material as you go and not wait till a day before the exam. My strategy was that I went to every SI which clears up tougher topics and took extra questions to the Accounting Lab. If you practice and keep up you will do fine. Clark teaches the class well. Tough subject
Very easy class to me. Study though! Go to SI and the ACCT lab to clear up questions you have. Personally I never attended the ACCT lab, I just when to SI. There are 3 tests with 50 questions each, 25 are math and 25 are conceptual. Do Learnsmarts on time, easy points, go to class for class activity pts you never know when she does them, easy pts
I literally slept in every class because it was so big and boring. She moves so fast, you cannot keep up unless you read the book before the lecture. Accounting Lab definitely helped me a lot. At the end of each week, make sure you know the chapter and you will not get behind.
She was the worst Professor at GSU. Not supportive. SHe doesnt care about her students and when I went to see her in her office she tried to discourage me and said I should change my major. She has a very negative and nasty approach. Do Not take her!!
The material is difficult but Prof. Clark is a great lecturer and tries her best to make it clear. There are weekly HW assignments online (easy) and 2 excel tutorials (also easy). The exams are straightforward but that doesn't make the material any easier! Provides study guide. The acct lab helped me pass big time!
Ms. Clark is a fantastic instructor. She breaks down challenging concepts to help you understand. The exams are standardized, but she gives you a study guide 10 days before each exam that has everything you need to know on it. Class is mandatory in a sense that there are "class activities" for a grade.
She pretty much brings the test to class and goes question by question. I'm not sure what else she can do.. You either take the time to learn it or you don't . I recommend taking her.
This professor is hilarious, as well as very professional. I took this class during the Maymester session. Beware: it is very condensed, very fast, and very easy to get left behind. With that being said, Prof. Clark is always willing to take questions, and to help in any way. She is a phenomenal teacher, and I would recommend her course.
Class was with 300+ people, and lectures are boring. She tended to repeat herself a lot, which I found SO annoying. She was very nice when I spoke with her in person. My biggest advice would be to go to the accounting lab. BIGGEST GRADE SAVER! Go before exam week though. It gets packed when exams are nearing.
Of course with it being accounting I knew it wasn't going to be easy. But she makes it really interesting and she's actually cracked some jokes here and there. She counts attendance so go to every class. Definitely recommend taking her. Just don't bs anything in this class and you'll do fine.
I mean Accounting at GSU is hard, but she isn't a bad teacher. The concepts are very challenging and her lectures try to reduce the stress that is being thrown at us. She does give motivation as I know, because I've took it twice.
Accounting is a hard subject so you really need to work for your grade! Go to the Accounting lab, it really does help, and do the HW questions and really study for the exams and you'll do fine
I did not like her class. It was hard. I had to work during SI sessions and I went to speak with her during office hours and she said that she was not going to help me . It was either I go to SI sessions or she would fail me and she did.
Accounting is one of the harder classes at GSU but it's not impossible. Definitely requires some time commitment but if you work hard you can definitely do well!
Professor Clark is awesome. If you show up to class, pay attention and do your online homework you can fail tests and still pass the class. I would put all 5's but it wouldn't be accurate based on the nature of the accounting subject.
There is no doubt that Accounting is a tough class, but Professor Clark do her best to explain the material well. She knows that it is tough criteria, but with going to class, homework, and studying you will do just fine.
I passed the class with a B- even though I got a C's on all three test. The key to passing the class is doing all of your homework and attending class to complete the class activities, those points really do add up. The test are just like the study guide so I would advise studying straight from the study guide and make sure you understand concepts.
Honestly, just read every chapter in its entirety and make sure you understand it. You don't even have to go to class to learn the material (but if you do, she's a great teacher). Do your homework to make sure you understand the chapters. You should do well if you're not a efffing retard. Got at least a 99 on every exam.
Professor Clark is great! Accounting is a pretty tough subject, but she does her best to make sure you understand the material. There are 2 test, 12 online assignments(easy A's), 12 class activities(attendance) & 1 final exam. Her powerpoints are posted online, so with those and studying, you should be fine. I passed with a C+ but I never studied.
I think her class was very fair. She built in throw-away points in every grading area, including attendance & exams. As long as you go over her power points, do the WileyPlus homework & Orion review questions, you should do fine. She WILL NOT curve up at the end of the semester, so get all the points you can!
Trust me, you do not want to miss class. Clark does her best to help us understand Accounting, which is a pretty tough subject. She offers class activities almost every week, and maybe twice a week, but they are free easy 10 points. I rather take her over any other Accounting teacher that teach 2101 because her material is constant.
i'm an accounting major and had a difficult time on the second midterm in the class. After going to her office hours and talking to her about my exam she insisted that I change my major because accounting is not "fit" for me and needed to really think about if accounting really was for me. I did not like her at all but still managed to get an a.
Twelve homework assignments, twelve in-class activities(attendance), two exams, and one final. Accounting is really hard but it is still possible to get A. She offers SI sessions and lab sessions. I suggest you also look up accounting 101 videos on Youtube to establish the foundation of accounting for beginning chapters of the textbook.
Prof Clark is great the material is tough. She really does try to give you the tools for success. PP of lectures are online, HW every week to reinforce what you learned in class, in-class activities to help gage yourself on the stuff you learned. Study! ACCT is hard she does give easy points in HW, Class activities, 10 free for doing survey at end.
This class is an easy A as long as you go to class and do the online assignments. If you pay attention during lecture, you should easily get an A. Also, the study guides are very specific and tell you the exact type of question that will be on the exam.
Kris Clark was an amazing professor! She relates accounting to the real world. You have to show up to class and really put in effort in order to understand the material. Homework and classwork are easy 100's. For tests, she gives study guides that bullet point everything you need to know. I wish she could teach all of my classes!
If you have to take accounting, she's the one you want. Any accounting majors should definitely see her during office hours, she gives great career advice.
Not going to lie, this class is not an easy A. However, Clark is a very fair professor. She lays out the entire course on the first day and sets clear deadlines for everything. Her study guides are very useful tools for studying for the midterms and final. Clearly knows what she's teaching, she's tough but honestly a very good professor.
Clark'sa great professor, but this is not an easy class. Truly have to put in the worl in order to do well. Also--has class activities so you really can't skip class. But class activities are always at the end so showing up late is okay!
Take Clark for accounting! Hard concepts but the class is doable, make sure your on top of your stuff. Attendance is somewhat mandatory as she counts random class activities as your attendance for the day, but only does one once a week. I would recommend going to lecture tho, its easy to get behind in here. Homework and textbook are online.
Class is heavy in material but attending lectures and SI will help greatly. Although she is a little rude sometimes, she is open to answer questions. Go to class regularly, review the slides, utilize the Wiley hw and text book and you should do well. There is no extra credit or curving.
We had 2 exams, 1 final, class assignments, and online assignments. This is one of the hardest class I have ever taken so far. The final was extremely harder than our other 2 exams, she sort of sped through our last two chapters of our course. Overall, she is an okay professor.
Looking at these comments about Clark, it's obvious they're upset they didn't do well on the final. Make no mistake, Accounting is not easy, but for teaching a class like this to 300+ people, I don't think it could be done better. If you keep up and go to SI, you'll get at least a B and won't end up whining on a review website. You choose S/O Gwork
Going to class is important. She speeds through her lectures, but she posts them online. She is available outside of class, and she really does care about the success of her students. Be prepared to put in the work.
Coming into this class I was so terrified because everyone says the material is hard & that she is intimidating. However, Kris Clark is an amazing teacher. might be a little snarky, but definitely worth it. do her homework, USE ORION ON WILEY, go to the acct lab, and ask her questions. Will do fine.
MISSED 3 CLASS ASSIGNMENTS AND STILL PASSED. MAKE SURE YOU REVIEW THE CLASS ASSIGNMENTS AND WILEY PLUS.
Alright so, this class you really need to dedicate yourself, everything on the exam has been gone over, basically how well you understand the material. I basically didn't pay attention in class and just did the homework and the exercises and aced the exam every time. Really depends on how well you understand the material.
This can be a hard subject for many people, but she does a great job of teaching so much in so few classes, given such the large class size. TBH she doesn't have enough class time to teach all the material, so expect to study a lot outside of class. Do that and you're golden. Wileyplus is your bff. I would definitely take her class again.
Accounting is by far the hardest class I have ever took. She is a nice lady that knows her subject but she does not make it easy on you. She does not make the subject any easier for her students. The test averages are around 73% & do not get better as the year goes on. The test are always hard but you can fail all the test & still pass (hw,show up)
This class was really hard and I have accounting experience. The tests are tricky. I did not find the teacher very helpful. Every time I asked a question she was really rude to me so I stopped asking. She is a good teacher however and I did well in the class. Use Orion on wileyplus.
Probably the rudest coldest teacher I know. She rambles gets off topic and her lectures aren't helpful at all. She does class activities so those are the days you need to be there. She's a teacher that's use to giving out C's so definitely gotta study way ahead of time cause she gives no extra credit.
A good professor but a hard class. If you pay attention in class you a bound to so well. Professor clark is very helpful if you go to her office hours as well. She honestly makes the class as easy it can be
Klark is a very like-able and respected professor in the accounting field. Lectures are very important to attend because not only will you learn from it but it will also reduce the amount of stress/time studying things you don't know. There is homework on wileyplus every week. Be sure to go over wileyplus and orion to help you study for the exam!
Easy class if you pay attention to what she says. 10 random in class assignments and 10 online homeworks. Not a hard class to pass but if you fall behind its hard to catch back up.
She is not usually clear or explanatory. She will talk and waste her time and breath about how important something is rather than teach it to us. Taking her class was a waste of my time and money honestly
Taking this class will simply be a course where you do a lot of teaching yourself. She explained some things, but not in depth so if you're okay with doing that, take her class. If not, don't. There are weekly homework assignments and class activities. Tests were long and pretty difficult. She kicks people out of class for talking too, so be aware
I attended every class went to the accounting lab and used study groups for the test and they were still hard! Test questions are worded differently and the format is changed. She expects you to know the Info after she says it.. she even admitted that majority of the ppl are forced to take the class for Business but still treats us like acct majors
Clark is a very prominent professor. If you attend lectures, do all of your homework, and study outside of class then I can guarantee you that you will pass! Her study guides outline what you really need to study and make the test easier. Make sure you understand what she is teaching, especially if you're an accounting major.
Half of these recent reviews complaining about their grades and rudeness are the ones who do not come to half of the lectures nor try in class. Understand that Accounting professors teach over 200+ students, it's hard to get the help you need. Which is why there are Accounting SI's available.
The tests are pretty straight forward if you pay attention. A lo of maerial but not that hard to catch on to.
Great teacher overall, however, accounting is had and she does not make it easier. She knows it too. I wish she gave more extra credit opportunities. Somehow finished with a B, which I'm grateful for, but I strive to finish with all A's and this was my first B so I'm pretty pissed. I can't believe I have to take accounting 2.. Good luck to all.
The worst professor I have ever had at GSU. She is not helpful by any means and makes snarky remarks about students that are struggling in the class. If at all possible, take someone else. 3 tests and thats it- usual class test average is 71 or 72. That says a lot about her abilities to help and encourage students. One of the rudest professors ever
she has a sense of humor that makes a lecture class less boring. the two midterms are easy but the cumulative final is very hard be prepared. SATURDAY EXAMS tho they are not fun. for in class activities, you just have to attend class and turn it in for 100. online homeworks are easy, you get 15 attempts each problem. would take her again for 2102
Decent professor. The class has 3 exams that are all on Saturdays. There is also in class assignments and weekly homework assignments online. The class isn't hard to get a decent grade but you have to complete everything and study for the exams thoroughly.
You cannot skip her class because every class is 10 points for attendance and there will sometimes be pop assignments (not quizzes). I received a C because its hard but KC is clear when teaching and answers questions well. Go to class,do ALL the hw, and youll still pass regardless of test scores!
everyone makes this class seem super hard when in reality if you just attend her lectures and actually pay attention it's not that bad. She provides "study guides" which is basically a list of what you need to know for her exams. There are online homework's weekly and she does do random in class assignments. But overall it wasn't that bad!
She is actual a great professor. She is knowlegeable and very focus. The only was to pass the class is to come to class on time, do the homework, and participate in class. Half the students on here complaining about her didn't pass because they never showed up after passing the first exam. She is an amazing professor, who is willing to help.
Class is lecture based and that's where you learn everything. I recommend taking course during maymester or june-mester to retain information for test better. Concepts get very hard after test 1 (Ch.1-4) so study up and use orion and you'll be fine. Made me more interested in accounting than I originally was.
Professor Clark is just fantastic. She is very clear on what she expects you to know for the exams, a fair grader, and makes lectures bearable. Her sense of humor helps, too! She makes accounting seem easier. My only complaint is that she doesn't teach 2102 and the professor that does doesn't hold a candle to her and it's reflecting in my grade.
Lectures are boring, but definitely helpful. She gives "class activities" for easy points, so definitely show up for those. HWs, there is alot, but they help with studying and are relatively easy. Tests are not that bad; Following the study guide she provided and using wileyplus practice/HWs helped alot! Not a bad professor to take.
Shes a decent teacher! She tells dry jokes and can be boring sometimes but she is helpful.
Professor Clark is a very passionate instructor and tries to make the content interesting. 3 Saturday exams. Attending lectures is not mandatory but is recommended due to the difficulty of the content.
Attendance isn't mandatory, but paying attention to lectures is crucial if you want to do well on tests. She is a great teacher, and really cares about what she is teaching, and tries to bring humor to the class every now and then. Tests are fair as long as you study and pay attention in class.
Accounting isn't the easiest subject but Clark makes it bearable. Very straightforward class. 12 chapters each with relatively low hw. There's "class activities" at the end of each chapter that you turn in at the end of class and that's your attendance. USE THE STUDY GUIDE and look back at hw problems and you'll do fine on exams.
It's not an easy course but she made me understand and I'm definitely a dummy in the subject. I even retained some. She is probably as close to an expert as you're going to get. Go to class, participate, do the homework and you will pass. You will have to work for it. But if you put in the work, you will do fine.
The class wasnt too difficult so long as you do your homework and review for the tests. Wiley is a great tool to study from in addition to her powerpoints.
I enjoyed Dr. Clark. Shes an expert. Final is cumulative but not too bad. I loved that she kicks the chronic talkers out of class. Shes a very fast test grader which was a huge plus. Accounting majors beware. In ACCT 2101 and ACCT 2102 you need a B or above. They wont even accept a B-. Has to be a B or above. Its very doable though.
Lots of hw and tests are not as easy as you think (2 tests, 1 final). Cover LOTS of material, so I suggest reading textbook, take notes, go to acct lab. If you try in this class, you can get a good grade. She's nice and gives test scores back the day of. NO EXTRA CREDIT!
Missed a test bc I was hospitalized n when I gave her my note she called it fake. Told me I couldnt have been too sick since I have been showing up to class but her random in-class assignments are 10%. Shes heartless n doesnt care about you as a student. If you are in perfect health n accounting comes easily to you go 4 it but if not steer clear
Mrs. Clarke was funny and engaging. I hate accounting but I enjoyed her as a professor. People are right when they say she's tough, she's quick to call nonsense and kicks a lot of people out of class when they're disruptive. I guess if you have a problem doing a minimal amount of homework and you're disruptive, don't take her.
She has very engaging lectures, and you can tell that she enjoys teaching. It is hard to teach such a boring topic, and she tries to make sure it is a little easier to understand. She grades very fairly, and has really helpful homework, rather than just useless memorization hw.
I personally think Kris Clark is great. Her lectures are very easy to follow. While she uses a PowerPoint, she doesn't simply state the bullets but is good at explaining content in a unique way. The homework helps a lot, and the study guide is basically an exhaustive list of the test materialuse it as the main tool to study for tests.
Clark is a good professor, I think shes funny. It's very possible to get an A, if you're not lazy. You have to be willing to study. In class assignments for each chapter. They're random so show up to class. Her study guides have everything you need for the tests.
The teaching ability of this professor doesnt work with to all learning styles. The most you will get out of this class is just heavy lectures!
She really tried to relate all of the accounting principles to practical examples for us. If you go to class, which is a must or you will miss so much, you learn everything you need to focus on for the test. Also, the accounting lab was amazing and helped so much before the tests.
Fine professor, you just have to truly be on top of things. Not a class you can skip or just cheat in. The textbook is pretty helpful for when her lectures aren't clear enough, and there's plenty of exercises within the online text book to make sure you perfect everything.
She understands that this is a difficult class for some students and tries to acknowledge that throughout the lectures. There are only 3 tests throughout the course with 2 free questions on each one. Very blunt. Gives an extra credit opportunity that the entire class has to participate in to receive( everyone always does). Really liked her!
Very thorough, basic examination of accounting. Not rocket science.
Dr. Clark knows her material very well, and she will give you help if you need it. She may not seem very approachable in class, but she really cares about her students if you go to her directly. Lectures are not officially mandatory, but there are class activities that are graded, depending on the day. Show up to class, listen, and you'll be fine.
Professor Clark is a very good and engaging speaker. The material is inherently quite difficult if you are not inclined to math/accounting principles, but she does a great job of breaking it down. She is approachable and nice but expect to put in the work if you want to succeed. Make sure to attend class if you do not want to learn it on your own.
Lecture heavy
She is a good professor and explains everything pretty well. The exams are weighted heavily and homework's are not much help for your grade. She gives in-class activities so I would recommend going to class to get those easy points (not graded for accuracy just graded based on being present in class).
gives a very good walkthrough of concepts and keeps lectures entertaining.
She is really clear but sitting in an hour and 15 minute class can get you tired. Her test are on Saturdays which sucks but you get 2 hours and usually you use about half. It is 50 Multiple Choice questions. Her study guide tells you what to study so first 2 test aren't that hard but the final is cumulative and really difficult. Take her
Professor Clark is a great Professor, would recommend for anyone who has to take Acct2101, lectures are long but she tries her best to keep your attention with funny stories throughout, do the homework and class activities and you should be fine along with passing the exams, going to the accounting lab is also super helpful for review or help
Clark is very knowledgeable and knows what shes doing. She can be rude at times , because idiots bother her constantly. Overall the TA and Wiley plus are the way to go. You work for your grade , and you can get an A if you put enough effort. Its not rocket science, its simple accounting.
Attendance isn't mandatory for this class but it's best to show up to every class because you never know when she'll give a class activity. The class is really hard but she does her best to explain things clearly and she's very approachable.
Don't expect to skate by in this class and not put in any effort. The subject matter is difficult but Clark attempts to be as clear as possible. I recommend showing up for class (class activities are basically attendance points but they're random) and take advantage of the accounting lab & resources in WileyPlus and you'll be fine.
Love her, she's a great lecturer and will help students understand a difficult subject.
I really enjoyed her class. She actually taught the material instead of just reading. The homework helps you understand more and the TAs are really helpful. It's honestly easy. Don't get why a lot of people don't like her. You earn the grade you get.
she gives out class activities at the end of the lectures. Sometimes I do feel like the power points are worth more than just reading the textbook. Although attendance is mandatory, but you can still pass the class with reading the power point and doing the homework. she's great at teaching!
The work is boring and arduous but that is the accounting aspect, not the professor's fault. She puts in work to her lectures and tries to engage the class to the point that it is genuine and not forces or cringey. She seems like a fun and nice person but she will hold you to your own.
Material is boring to listen to but she tries to make it interesting. Clark is lecture heavy but does practice problems each class to help give an idea of the kinds of questions that will be on the test, homework can be challenging, depending on chapter and study guides are very specific if you study you will easily pass the tests.
Professor Clark is very straightforward and tries her best to help you. However, her exams can be difficult still and it can leave much to be desired. Accounting is hard no matter the professor, but she will try her best to help.
Viewing the ratings, I felt that this class would go smoother but I was sadly mistaken. This professor does not care about her students well-being and when you have concerns, expect her to give you a smart remark and not help you at all. She's clear as far as what she expects but expect the worse when it comes to her teaching and attitude.
She was very clear on whats graded and it mainly consisted of online hw, exams, showing in class to participate. Although the lecture had 300+ people, she tried to help everyone that didnt understand. She tried to make the lectures funny and useful.
AMAZING
I took this class online this summer and the only thing I didnt like is that the quizzes werent open for us to see what we missed and I felt like some of those questions from the quizzes were on the final and I didnt score well enough because the quizzes were locked and we werent able to see what we missed. Which is totally unfair.
She doesn't post, unless it is negative complaints about how many people showed up to her Webex meeting... which a student asked her about an accounting question on there & she says "You should already know that." Also, Her exams are very early SATURDAY mornings. Useless waste of money for this prof's class that does NOT prepare you for 2102.
Most people say she has a bad attitude or she's a harsh person, I think you also need to treat her as a teacher. If you approach her in the right way, she'll be nice to you. Her lecture and book are important to the exam, also she is the course designer. Lecture rules are a bit strict but just don't interrupt others or make noise and you are fine.
Strict grading policy and doesn't care about her student's success. Simple as that. Exams are early Saturday mornings. I'm paying for an online class for a professor who does nothing. It's unfair to the student's in the class that this doesn't prepare them for ACCT 2102. When most of the class needs help... its clearly a professor issue!
Not a bad professor, just a difficult course. She posts lectures and hosts weekly virtual meetings. She really cares and helps students learn, you just have to be willing to learn. The grading is not easy however, as 3 exams make up 75% of your entire grade in the class. Study and go to her virtual sessions and it won't be as bad as everyone says.
Not recommended to take this class with this professor. She does not seem to care about her students very much. Her 'lectures' are not very helpful and do not prepare you for accounting 2. She does not teach and all assignments are graded online. The tests are difficult and will affect your grade heavily.
Dont take her. She talks ENTIRELY too much and does not care about her students. She relies on the textbook for everything and does not explain anything. And shes just overall a mean old lady. Maybe she needs to retire
Kris was terrible during the online season, she was not reading the environment as we were in a whole pandemic. She was very hard, her videos sucked and she did Wednesday Webex's but all we did was review problems. She didn't show us how to do anything. If you're a verbal learner you may do well but if you're visual it's gonna be harder. Good Luck
The class itself was difficult for me because I need to actually see what youre doing in front of me. The online lectures were long and boring. I could tell that she cared.
The class being online was difficult. Her recorded lectures were really good at explaining the topic. Although, the cons were that in her Webex sessions she never would explain how to get the answer but would assume we already know how to do it. Sarcastic responses when asking questions. Only homework and exams are graded. Heavily weighted exams.
She is a good professor knowing how difficult accounting can be. Although I only liked her recorded lectures and how her exam was in multiple-choice format. I work better with word problems so it was fine. Her Webex sessions aren't really helpful because of no explanation on the problems she reviews. Just wish a little more effort.
not lenient at all, seriously ruined my GPA.
terrible at explaining how to work accounting problems. exams are mainly multistep accounting problems. many struggled to finish as there wasnt enough time. her weekly webex is meant to teach how to solve problems but was no help. she gives vague verbal explanations w/o writing down steps or showing work dont take unless you can learn math verbally
Professor Clark was a very organized professor but truly she often acts like her students are the enemy and she really isn't lenient even if you have proven to be a reliable student. I friend of mine's wifi went out during her final exam and the professor acted as if it was her fault that her wifi went out. Would not recommend her for ACCT 2101.
The class is very simple. Weekly homework via WileyPlus. Her words "even if you score 50% on all tests and complete all the weekly hw, you should still pass". Test is extremely hard. Not lockdown. Attending isn't necessary but very useful. Very friendly and strict teacher. Like to dismiss class early if attending lectures.
Terrible professor. DO NOT TAKE
She is a really nice person and a good teacher. The problem with the course is the homework does not help at all with the tests and the tests are too hard! You will never really feel prepared for them but having her helped me. Her lectures are fun and she explains stuff well.
Genuinely one of the worst professors I've seen. A teacher that literally couldn't care less about you and your grades. Instead of teaching you and allowing you to exceed, she'd mock you for having a bad grade. Should be fired. Don't take..
This professor in particular was knowledgeable of all the content, but when it came to specifics was non-negotiable. Tests are non lockdown but unreasonably timed (75 minutes for 35 math based questions, coming out at 2 minutes a question) and she refused to extend time. The professor could have done more, because everything was graded for her.
Passed with an A. Watch her lecture videos and read the textbook. Weekly lectures are NOT mandatory. I would only go if you need help or have questions. Midterms/Final is NOT on lockdown! Just be prepared because the time is very limited!! Invest in chegg... its worth it 100%
Exams make up 75% of grades and the exams are very time limited, so thats the biggest downside of this class. The WebEx meetings arent mandatory but they help if you have questions. I would say this class is on the harder side but I got an A+ by watching the videos, attending lectures, and doing adaptive practices so i would recommend her.
Insufferable would be the nicest way I could describe Kris Clark. I did well on everything and through issues that I could prove weren't my own I was left with 9 minutes left on a test and she still failed me. $$ down the drain cause she truly doesn't care about her students. Every email from the beginning was replied to with an attitude.
A horrible professor and even worse person.
She was very right to the point, and is kind of harsh if you ever needed help. I got help from others and watch other people do the work.
I personally really enjoyed Professor Clarks class. It was a bit hard in the beginning to get the hang of things and to find a way to study for the class, but I got the hang of it by the second exam. Theres a lot of practice questions you can do in the textbook and her lectures are so engaging and shes very thorough. definitely recommend her
I did not like her as a teacher at all. She is extremely rude. She did not seem like she wanted to help her students at all. However, her videos are somewhat helpful.
Attendance wasn't mandatory, but there are a couple class activities (completion grade) during random days. If you miss an activity, you can't make it up. Personally, I spent a significant amount of time reading and watching her pre-recorded lecture videos outside of class because she often goes over practice problems during class, no lectures.
ACCT 2101 was hard at the beginning . It takes a lot of reviewing to understand the material. The lectures were helpful in a way, as well as the prerecorded videos. The homework questions doesnt help with the exams. The questions that she goes over in class will help with the exams.
Even though I did not get as good of a grade as I wanted, she seems like one of the better professors at school. All ACCT 2101 and 2102 classes have the same grading scale and exams, but the way they are being taught is different. My 2102 professor does not seem nearly as good as prof Clark was. So count your blessings. Make sure you show up.
Professor Clark isnt a terrible professor it is more so that she doesn't care about students success. If you are understanding the work than you will be fine, but if you dont understand the work your in trouble. She will simply say to follow directions and to go to tutoring, even though tutoring wasnt enough because this class is quite hard.
TAKE HER FACE TO FACE! I took her f-t-f class and I think the bad reviews are from who takes her online class bc she told us that she purposely makes the time periods for tests shorter to counteract cheating online (We got 2 hours they got 90m)!Take advantage of the study guide, complete your homework BEFORE Monday and get those attendance points!!
I took her Spring 2022 Face-To-Face course. The grading policy is out of 1000. Professor Clark has the powerpoints slides on iCollege which help a lot with notes. The Grading Policy is like this: Midterm 1: 250 points Midterm 2: 250 points Final Exam: 250 points Class Assignments: 50 points (You get one free pass.) Homework Assignments: 200 points
she is awful and the most incosiderate person ever
Imo Clark is the best accounting 2101 teacher. She can be a bit snarky in class but she really takes the time to make sure you understand the material. The WileyPlus homework is reasonably sized and WAY harder than the tests. For me the tests were ridiculously easy, and being the biggest part of my grade really helped. I though she was fantastic.
She really takes the time in class to go over all the examples especially the class activities. She'll break up the lectures if she feels like the class is slower in one chapter than another. Her lectures are primarily based on the most important powerpoint slides. Watch the videos because those are really helpful too in understanding the material.
Very strict on policies, no exceptions. Showed good examples and provided video lectures that were helpful. Harsh with words sometimes. Attendance was a negative, because of how she did it as 6 class activities throughout the semester on random days. Basically you have to attend or get an F on that class activity if she decides to spring one up.
Good lectures. Only takes attendance a few random times in the semester. Online homework and there is extra credit opportunity on Wileyplus. Tests are hard.
The actual course is what is difficult but Ms. Kris Clark is amazing. She is really easy to talk to in office hours. Now I'm in accounting 2102 I wish I had her as the videos she's way more lively and entertaing and gives good examples in her videos. Her off topic rants are so funny espcially when she talks bout her sons it made her more personable
I took her last spring in the 2hrs and 30mins class (Do not take this class unless you are generally interested in accounting). Great professor, easy to keep up with, and loves to answer your questions. Please study for the exams as a lot of students failed thinking they can go in without studying. Gives extra credit as well.
DO NOT take class if you need an empathetic professor. Has no understanding for any personal issues, no extensions, no extra credit. Attended every class for nothing. Environment is uncomfortable, not safe for you to speak your mind or ask a question without being judged. I do not understand how her rating is this high. Take literally anyone else.
Lectures are pretty good and she posts videos on each learning objective. The videos were enough for me to learn the content. Homework can take some time to finish but isn't too bad. 2 midterms and a final each is worth 25% of the grade. Study guide contains all the content you need for the test so study that and your notes and the tests are easy.
She has outstanding teaching capabilities, her lectures are NOT boring at all, tries to make it fun and gives great pointers on what students typically struggle on. Her grading system is known with 3 tests in total and homework. Her study guides were SUPER HELPFUL, and I learned a lot in this course. Take her.... 100% recommend.
Professor Clark provided excellent lecture videos to review on your own time. Her in class lectures were thorough and easy to understand!! She makes great jokes as well. Sad to see her retire, but her retirement is well deserved!!!
Failing the class is on you completely as her lectures, notes, and homework helped alot. ACCT is hard due to the test grading tho. Best teacher I have had and I acknowledge my grade was not on her but on me. Not many students are willing to admit that but she was THAT good. Hope her retirement is well and she lives the rest of her life wonderfully!
