He's a nice easy guy. He has his lecture notes online so that's a plus. You only have a couple easy papers and easy short assignments for each chapter. His tests were a little tricky, but if you study you'll be ok. The class is very interesting too.

Honestly take this class!!!! best teacher i have ever had. he made me want to come to class. he is hilarious. you have 3 papers, online quizzes, and tests but you play jeopardy before each test and it makes it VERY helpful. has online lectures that you can print out. Kris i freakin love you! pay attention in class though he doesnt like sleepers!

BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. Kris keeps the class interested and is SUCH an easy grader. Out of all the professors I have had, he is my absolute favorite. (I hope he doesnt get mad that I am saying this....but...) You don't even have to go to class (except for attendance) because every question on the test is given to you during review. TAKE IT!

Best teacher you will ever have! He shows cool videos that relates to the topics he will be going over for the class period. Always giving examples of terms that are hard to grasp by doing little fun projects. I would reccomend him to anyone that is interested in psych or soc and wants to have a good time!

This is the BEST psychology teacher ever!!! He grades hard on paper assignments, and the exams aren't really easy, but his teaching is the best(really funny too). As long as you study key facts and words your good.

Doc. LC is the SMARTEST man alive. Attendance is key to understanding, although his lecture notes are available online and incredibly accessible and organized..I missed his class ONCE and regretted it! But I caught up fast. He does grade hard, but like they said, it's deserving. I recommend you take his class for either course! Very interesting!

Great Professor that knows his material. Make the class as well as the material fun by taking a sometimes humourous approach. Certainly not an easy class though. He made this class really easy. His class incorporates extensive review opportunities. I sat back and relaxed, breezed through the whole semester. I don't think he likes when you yawn during class (like I was doing all semester). It was a morning class, I was just tired (so if you're reading this, it wasn't because you were boring). Take the class.

If you take advantage of the notes and review exams he provides on blackboard you will perform well in the class. Though it was an easy class you actually end up learning the material. Great guy and is very easy to contact for help.

Class easy, grades on a curve, and drops two quiz scores. Very nice teacher, but bring something to do, cause the class is boring, he reads straight off the power point and gives you all the lecture notes online, so you really don't need to come to class. Do not take if you want an exciting class!

He's really nice and did me a huge favor this semester. Took him online. Lets u take the quizzes multiple times, and u answer DB q's. He can be a hard grader...Just study the chapters and u should do well. There are 3 exams u get 2 chances to take them and up ur grade, and 1 journal paper, that he grades hard on. Exams are just longer quizzes.

Great teacher. If you are looking for an easy A, go elsewhere. You will learn in his class and to get A's on the tests you will be needing to read the book. Make flash cards and take practice tests and you should get an A. He's a great guy, but doesn't "hand" out A's at all. I highly recommend him and this is my 2nd class with him.

This class was alot of online work. He's an extremely hard essay grader and all of the material on the tests comes ENTIRELY from the book, so yes you HAVE to read!! He's a very nice man and is very knowledgable about social psyc. I would take him again, even though I had some gripes

Dr. LC is the BOMB! For real though. He is funny and makes coming to class fun. I can't tell you how many times I bugged him with questions outside of class by email and got immediate responses from him. If you need extra help just ask. This is the only Psych class I need for my major unfortunately otherwise I wouldn't want anyone else to teach it.

Kris is a great teacher. I took his class for both PSYCH 1 & 7. He tells jokes in class and has a way of explaining things so they make sense and are easy to remember. He has tests that are similar to his notes so if you study the notes and take the practice exams you will get an A in the class.

This guy is awesome. He really wants everyone to do well and keeps the lectures fun and interesting. In-class participation is mandatory, so speak up once in a while and he'll love you. Also, he'll let you do anything you want for the tests (use the book,, notecards, ect) all you have to do is "persuade" him. TAKE THIS CLASS. You won't regret it.

Hes a great teacher! Lectures most of the class but doesnt fear an interesting conversation during class. His tests aren't very hard weekly quizes and for Psyc 7 we just had to write a paper that he gives you good guidelines to follow. All in All one of my Faves.

Kris ROCKS! I wasn't interested in Psychology prior to taking his class. All tests are online except the final. Quiz for each chapter. Four major tests (includes final)-all are open book. Answers questions quick! Available to meet with you personally to look over your one paper that you write. Class is what you put into it. Not hard. Easy A!

kris is the bomb!!! i got a c, but i never even looked in the book, only during a test or quiz. if you keep up with the reading, you will easily get a b! he is really helpful and just an overall nice guy.

Great teacher. Brings humor to the classroom but definitely knows how to buckle down and get stuff done. He makes his lectures interesting, but you also have to skim the book in order to do well on the quizzes/tests. All-in-all, an excellent experience.

I took this teacher online and I have to say, by far, a great teacher. There are 4 units to complete. All sections are given to you at once w/ a due date attached so you can go as fast or as slow as you like (so long as you complete by the due date). Wonderful teacher! Quizzes are 10 questions long with a 1hr time frame & can be retaken 5 times! Same goes for teh final, 2 re-take attempts. Take this class..

The quiz system allows trial and error studying. Study the relevant and you will learn a great deal from the book (I do not recommend using google). As for the paper assignment, I couldn't seem to figure out how to condense a summary of the film and integrate a library source. Always answered the e-mails and had been very helpful in the lectures.

Great teacher. Really knew what he was talking about, and he made psychology fun. He requires you to do a lot of out of class reading, but if you can get through that you should be fine. I got an A pretty easily!

Psych 1 and 7...This is the best professor around. He will help you out with any situation you find yourself in. All of his tests and quizzes are online. the final exam is the only in class test. One essay, but it isn't too difficult and the prompt is very clear. I recommend him to ALL of my friends..And the ones that have listened love him too.

I <3 this professor. As I am a Psych major, I loved every minute of his class. Quizes and exams are all online which are incredibly EASY if you read all the chapters in their entirety. One paper based on a movie which is simple too. I am a psych nerd and I would definitely take another class with him, hands down!

Fun and interesting class. Very easy and wants everyone to do well. Cant pass if you dont attend though. All the quizzes and tests are online, and gives you multiple chances to retake them. Posts powerpoints on blackboard as well as all of your grades. I learned a lot from him and will definitely take his other class in the future.

I was iffy on taking an online course. But I loved this course, everything was so relatable to every day life & I always would write as much as I could in the discussion boards. You learn so much in this class, & its relatively easy to get an A if you put in the effort. I learned so much I want to take more courses in social psych! Take this class!

He is very sweet and intelligent when it comes to his work and teachings. Clear and concise about requirements, just follow directions and complete all the quizzes on time and you should easily get an A or B. A bit of a tough grader when it comes to his essay questions portions of the exams, and the journal critique assignment.

Very personable,clear, organized. Daily PPT lectures with interesting stories. Lots of memorization for tests and essays but gives study guides and allows small cheat sheet. Offers extra credit. Grades on a curve. Will negotiate your grade if you can demonstrate good reasoning for answers. Not a freebie class. Put in the time you'll be fine.

He is super helpful and makes it so you can pass the class (as long as you pay attention). There isn't extensive use of the textbook, but if you want higher than a C-B in the class, you should pick it up. His quizzes are rather simple and the exams are manageable.

Professor LC is amazing TAKE THIS CLASS! I chose this major after taking his course. He is great at what he does and is very fair in his grading. I had issues with turning in an assignment once and he was very understanding and allowed me extra time. Interesting lectures, makes the time go by fast. I'm definitely taking another class with him.

The exams were kind of tough, but they were fair and also based off the book and weren't cumulative. He grades harshly on the essay portion of the exams, though. Our class had to write one research paper (4 page minimum) which was 18% of our grade, and IMO he graded them fairly. If you study the material, it will be easy for you to get an A.

An excellent class, highly recommended but it's not an easy A prepare to attend and pay attention but if your interested in psychology or sociology at all you'll love this class and adore the professor.

Professor LC, is such a great guy and I can't emphasize that enough. I just took his summer Psych 30 course and I couldn't have loved it more. It was just 10 min short of being a 4 hour class but it felt like a breeze with his teaching style. Super funny and loves his job and he's extremely smart and helpful Thank you so much Professor.

Professor Leppien-Christensen is a wonderful teacher. I took the Summer session, but wish I had been able to take the full course during fall or spring. It was a lot of fun. This class is great! Professor Leppien-Christensen does a great job at making the class very manageable. There were 4 unit tests and online chapter quizzes. The quizzes were due at the end of the unit and you had 5 opportunities to take each of them. If you like psychology, you will love social psychology. It is definitely an easy A

Exams are easy if you read the book. Homework is 10 simple questions in the form of a quiz, which are easy if you read.

Kris was a really nice professor and was always in a good mood. The class was only a little difficult because a lot of outside studying is necessary in order to get good grades on the exams. He was always considerate of students though and he gives you all the resources needed to pass the class. He is very organized and great about updating grades.

I love psychology and I love this professor! He is funny, keeps lectures interesting, explains concepts well and his tests are fair(if you study). As for the subject itself, it's somewhat easy if you took any psych previously/in high school. Otherwise, you'll have to study a little harder for the tests. Highly recommend this class!!

Took this class as an elective requirement, would definitely recommend and take again. Professor Kris is absolutely hilarious. He makes you want to show up to class, and gives great lectures. Everything is easily explained, and he is always there to answer questions or emails in office hours or email. Also gives re-do exams online! Great prof.

This is such an interesting class and his lectures are great, a lot of the info stuck in my head. He is also pretty funny. No doubt my favorite teacher I have had. I didn't do well in the class and thats on me, but he gives his students best chance to succeed and interacts with his students. Assigns one relatively difficult paper for someone who isn't a psych/soc major. Tests are easy if you study for them. Overall a great class and awesome dude.

I really enjoyed the class. He really enjoys teaching which makes the class interesting. Quizzes require reading so you gotta put in the work. Exams are ok but he lets you use a flashcard with notes. i recommend this professor because of the clarity about grading and how smooth the class goes.

He's a super fun teacher and is always cracking jokes. He's a great teacher. He lectures pretty much every day but you can't just rely on the lectures. The book is a must have and his study guides also helped. I thought his tests were pretty hard and i never got over a low B on his tests because of the essays at the end (for PSYC 30).

I really enjoyed taking this class with him. He only assigned one essay and gave 4 or so months to do it. He makes the topics interesting, clearly loves his job. He also let me sit in on his another one of his classes just for fun.

If your looking for a psychology class I recommend Leppin-Christensen. He is a great professor and looks like he enjoys his class. He makes the class fun and cracks jokes but we are still able to learn the material. You do online quizzes so I recommend staying on top of those and reading the material to get the full points , its 5 point quizzes.

Kris is genuinely kind & patient. He has difficulty tying abstract concepts to real life applications in order to make statistical material meaningful. He risks impressions of impropriety w/girls begging for xtra-credit & unearned better grades by not responding firmly. He is a dedicated teacher & an asset to Saddleback College.

Best teacher I've had this semester. His lectures are interesting. Sometimes he doesn't have a filter and those are usually the best lecture days. Definitely, do the paper, its a huge part of your grade. Pay attention and you will get A's on the tests. Easy class and awesome teacher. Pls take this class. It's worth it.

Please do everything you can to take a class instructed by Leppien-Christensen. He has been my favorite teacher since my first day of his class. He is so funny and he's always wanting that pepper so LC, this pepper's for you! He's just incredible and you will not regret taking any of his classes. Genuinely going to miss him after I transfer.

Despite the fact that his lectures were sometimes too slow, I really enjoyed the class in general. He always made a lot of interesting points regarding psychological and sociological studies. He was hilarious, but he will definitely know if you did not research your article on the final paper.

He is an excellent teacher . Attend his class, it is fun . You could also read his lectures on line. He is very caring, friendly and supportive ! You will love the subject and the way he teaches . Take him ! I have learned a lot from him. Great professor!

He is an energetic teacher who makes you really interested in the subject and everything about it. He has by far been my favorite professor here and I would recommend him to anyone interested in taking psych.

Kris is an amazing professor who will always go out of his way to ensure each student in his class thoroughly understands a concept. He was hilarious throughout each class meeting, and seemed very passionate about what he taught. I recommend studying for his tests, as they are not easy, but also not hard. All quizzes were online, and those helped.

Kris has to be the greatest professor I have taken so far in all of my years in school. He is hilarious! The lectures are a lot and he goes quick but topics are interesting. Kris makes jokes to keep the class engaged. The tests/quizzes are not that bad as long as you read/study. Only one essay. 10/10 would recommend.

If i only had one word to describe Kris, it would be "professional." He really knows what he's talking about, and his mildly cynical jokes really add to the experience. There's a bit of work, but it's interesting and relevant to the topics you learn. I love this professor and if I get the chance to take his classes again, I will!

By far the coolest teacher i have ever had. he makes lectures interesting and fun, one paper with the whole semester and its fun to write. Tests are hard so you just have to study, NOT AN EASY A. Just have to work for it, online quizzes that you can do multiple times till you get 100%. he is very laid back, great teacher! TAKE HIM!

His lectures are great and hes probably the best psychology teacher at saddleback. Theres one paper in the class and you can go to him for help on it before its due. Theres 4 tests & as long as you study youll do well on them. The only thing that was annoying was that he said he curves but i ended up stuck with a C when it could have been a B.

Dr Leppien-Christensen is hands down the best professor I've ever taken. His lectures are informational and entertaining. He's hilarious and always kept the class interested in what he was saying. He's also very understanding and truly cares about his students' success. I would take his class again if I could!

Loved this class, tests are a little difficult but as long as you study youll be fine. Lectures are actually fun as he makes a lot of jokes through his personal experiences in the psychology field. Hardest part of the class was the essay he assigns towards the end of the semester. Would definitely recommend/take again. Very understanding.

Very easily my favorite professor I have had at Saddleback. He is absolutely hilarious, and his humor makes it easier to absorb the information that he teaches. The exams are doable with studying, and the journal critique requires a little above average effort to succeed. Love this guy, wish he taught more courses just so I could have him again.

By far one of my favorite professors that I've ever had. He's super involved and active in the psychology field. Really funny and not afraid to poke fun at himself, makes class exciting. You need the book, I've actually kept it and referenced this class/text for essays in most of my other classes(I took it a year ago). Just be sure to study.

Take him if you are to take any psychology or sociology class. He is literally the funniest teacher I've ever had. You only used your book once and that was for the one essay due at the end of the semester. Online quizzes every chapter (unlimited attempts) 4 Exams, he really knows his stuff and will gladly help you if you ask. No HW per se.

I'm definitely glad I took his class this semester. He can be really crude yet funny, which takes the edge off the "G.E. class funk" where nobody knows each other or talks to each other.

you dont need to buy the book. his powerpoints are short and his lectures are funny and interesting. he gives extra credit and only requires effort on the final paper. otherwise, it's an easy A and Prof. Kris is caring, available, funny, and an overall good teacher. he rounds and gives curves.

Kris is awesome!!! Hes hilarious. He had me laughing every class. I loved going to class just because of his lectures. Make sure to study for tests and take good notes. 1 paper due not hard at all and instructions are easy to follow. If you actually study/understand material for tests youll be fine.

Prof. Leppien-Christensen is a very funny and knowledgeable professor who relates his lectures to past experiences he had, which is really cool. He brings up some of the funniest things during class which makes the lectures very interesting. Make sure you take good notes and study for the exams as they are a little difficult. You will learn a lot.

Dr. Kris is very caring and sweet, I took his online Psych30 (Social Psych) class, and the class work was normal, and he was attentive on emailing me back. I believe this was his first online class so he is very late on grading. I would recommend anyone to take him.

Your grade is made up of online quizzes, tests and one essay due at the end of the semester. Don't wait until the last minute to do your essay!

Dr. Kris Leppien Kristen makes the lecture very entertaining and is full of charismatic! I took this along with Psych 30 and thought it would be difficult dull and boring but it was the opposite! He makes it worth wild coming to class with his enthusiastic form of teaching!!! Highly recommend!

I would definitely recommend taking this class! He makes the lectures I te resting and fun and has a great sense of humor. Boredom does not exist in his classroom as he gives amazing lectures with his great enthusiasm and humor! I would definitely take his Pscyh 1 as well I took both and I couldnt have asked for a better teacher!!!

I read some of the previous reviews and initially had some concerns. However, I found the Professor to be very knowledgeable. He has a gift for listening and communicates clearly. He's helpful, humorous and fun. Make sure you study for the tests and you will do fine. His detailed feedback on the final project, was appreciated and warranted.

As a STEMmajor, coming into a lax class with Kris was a relief. He is a really nice guy that wants his students to suceed and lets you use notecards on exams. Exams were straigh forward and not really consisting of stuff you wouldnt know. Quizzes are due before every exam and there is one paper. Overall, cool guy and would recommend taking him

Had few tests, you can use a 3x5 notecard. Had to read chapters in the book to take some quizzes on Canvas (unlimited attempts). Has a sense humor, class was always interesting. I didn't show up to 1 class which lecture consists of taking powerpoint notes which he posts, but he goes over information that is on the test & writes it on the whiteboard

Kris is a gem to have at SB. His lectures are engaging, hes so supportive and caring towards his students, just an overall amazing professor. Through the Covid-19 closure he has been incredibly understanding and has been there for us through it all. I highly recommend you take this course with Prof Leppien-Christensen, you wont regret it.

He is absolutely amazing! A true professor who knows how to make the class fun, joke around but also get his points across to his students. He loves engaging during the lectures and sometimes speaks about things that do not relate to the class (which is ok!) He does not overcomplicate the lectures/tests/quizzes. Mandatory reading for the quizzes!

You should take him at any chance you get. He is awesome, so nice, easy going, and understanding. There are online quizzes before each test (you can retake as many times as you want). Then 4 exams. One journal critique. He is always there if you need help, and really loves his job. I learned so much from him.

This professor is exceptional. His honors curriculum is designed to prepare us for the rigor of our upper-division studies - not an easy class by any means, but if you are looking for a free pass - don't take an honors class with a true academic. He is caring, kind, very intelligent, and more than fair. I learned so much. Highly recommend.

Amazing Professor. Allows for test retakes and often rounds up tests if certain questions are missed a lot by the class. Take notes of key words and remember studies as they are mostly what the tests are on. Allows for a cheat notecard as well on every test. Fun to talk to and knows a lot on the subject and is caring towards students.

Dr. Christensen has been the most understanding and fair professor I've had at Saddleback. Not only is the topic interesting to learn, but he tells you specifically what to remember for the test. Although the only things you can get graded on are tests and quizzes, he gives you a study guide, lets you use a note card, and lets you retake an exam.

Great teacher!! Let's us use a notecard on all the tests and sends out a video explaining everything that you will be tested on which makes the class very easy. no homework. teacher is very understanding and funny. I didn't even take this class. I tagged along with my girlfriend every lecture and needless to say I actually learned a lot. The topics discussed are always very interesting and he gives multiple good real-world examples to relate to them. It is very helpful, and makes the class fun. He uses powerpoints and talks about them. Good for memory.

Exams are a piece of cake as long as you take advantage of the note cards (yes, you can use a note card on the exams). All information on the study guides line up on the tests perfectly, no surprises. The professor is hilarious, he basically uses the class as a chat session while somehow getting through all of the information effectively. Pick Him!

Loved this class! He was very nice and vibed with the class. The exams are super easy, you just need to pay attention to the in-class lectures and study with the videos he provides. Put lots of time into the written assessment he gives and ask him any questions you may have. Overall, he's a very caring professor and I'm glad I took the class!

This class is one of the best psychology classes I have taken, he lets you redo three out of the four exams. You are allowed to use a notecard for exams. They are no curve balls on the exams. One major big assignment with clear and specific criteria and standards. Amazing lectures with engaging content, and overall a gem at Saddleback. TAKE HIM!

Dr. Kris made difficult topics easy to understand. He is funny and he cares about our success. I thoroughly enjoyed attending class. There are four exams based on great lectures, he has an exam review a couple of days before which you can later view on YouTube. There is one paper that you can choose your topic. He's helpful and responds quickly

His class is easy to pass, if you dislike your in class exam results you can retake them on canvas. He is funny, the only thing I do not appreciate is that he lets students loudly talk throughout the entire class period, and I often can't hear him over it. He needs to command more respect from his students, I feel like I'm in a high school class.

Very sweet man, talks about his personal life s he can connect to the class. Very clear on what is important to know for tests. Provides a zoom review session before most tests. Posts a study guide online but it is your responsibility to find it. Wears a different tie every class. Very good dude.

If you can take this class, definitely do it. Professor Christensen was amazing. Try your best to attend all lectures because the powerpoints only cover so much info that is elaborated on in class. He allows you to retake exams and does study sessions before each exam. You can tell he really cares about his students and wants all of us to succeed.

KLC's psych class was probably hands-down the best experience I have had so far in my college career. Really engaging lectures and conversations, the whole class would join in which I love so I always looked forward to his classes! He answers q's outside of class really fast too, which is great to get feedback before a due date. Would take again!

Great Professor - His lectures are incredibly engaging and packed with real-world examples that make the material come alive. one of the standout features of his teaching is the study guide Zoom session he holds before each quarterly exam. Dr. Leppien-Christensen does an excellent job of teaching in an accessible and humorous manner. Though there are a lot of exams, the review sessions and notecards make them easy. The paper is doable and there is plenty of time for it, though an alternative option for students unfamiliar with movies would be helpful. Lectures are fun and insightful!

It was a pleasure to be in Kris's class. His humour is stellar, and so is his personality; he made the class entertaining and enjoyable while making assignments simple. I took his classes back to back, so I'm not able to take him again however if I had the opportunity to do so, I absolutely would. Couldn't recommend him enough.

Christensen is really such a great lecturer and is hilarious as well as clear, and he is also very understanding and he clearly cares about their learning and success. Show up to class and beware wild conversations! This professor sets clear expectations, but he can talk a lot and go on tangents. If he doesn't finish a lecture, you're not going back to it. There are also 3-5 quizzes each section where you have to read from a free provided textbook and use applied knowledge on the quizzes. Great class though.

Dr. Kris is an amazing professor and lecturer. I took his Intro to Psych class and came back for his Social Psych class because he's that great. Engaging lectures, no busy work, and tests are very easy if you study according to the study guide and attend the review sessions that he holds. You can tell that he cares a lot about his students.

Literally the best prof ever. There is no busy work, just exams and a paper.e gives a study guide and cheat paper for every exam. He cares so much about his students and if you show up to class, take notes, and are engaged, you're passing with an A. Would take his class over again if I could.

Fantastic professor with peculiar sense of humor; has great, laid back and interesting lectures but still allows students to learn and grasp material. HW is almost nonexistent besides a few Canvas quizzes each chapter and a movie essay which is cool anyways. Tests are easy, especially if you watch the unit review videos he does before each one. A++
