Lectures are okay but not really thorough and you do most of the learning yourself by doing bookwork(a must). It seems he wants to see correct answers rather than if you have an understanding. Gives very little partial credit in exams-if you think you did B work, expect a C grade. Goes through material like he talks-too quickly.

He is very strict when it comes to grading! No notes can be used on your test, you will be expected to memorize every single formula (there is about 15), the course only consists of exams and exam reviews (homework is optional). Every point on the test extremely impacts your grade. Good luck.

His class is very straightforward and to the point. Homework isn't graded but for your benefit. The exams make up your grade, and he didn't do notecards so I had to grasp/memorize the material REALLY well. He's not rude, he's kind and professional but in my opinion, a little boring. But he is very knowledgeable and able to help anyone who asks him.

Very personable & takes his time to answer questions for those that may not understand. Homework is not graded but if you want to pass the class you should do the homework. Because the grading criteria is test heavy and homework is not graded you need to be able to manage your time well & study efficiently. Otherwise I may recommend a study group.

After taking a break from school for 10 years, I wasn't sure what to expect going into Professor Toler's class. I respect and understand his style of teaching. Proud of myself for passing his class considering that I never made it pass algebra during my high school years. Thank you for your patience professor, it truly was appreciated!

No homework is nice, it's like he's barely a teacher. His teaching style is very closed minded meaning his way or no way. His handwriting is VERY small so it's hard to keep up. Only grades exams and exam reviews, and you have to memorize a lot of formulas. Takes weeks to grade papers, weeks.

No quizzes or required homework. This might be great if you already know the material. If you're the type that likes physical notes and material that builds over time this approach might not work for you. Grades are pretty aggressive with only a few tests making up your grade. He makes the class a lot harder than it has to be.
