this guy explains everything you need to know...you won't learn crap in lecture, take him for lab and recitation and he'll help you out like no other...actually cares about every single student....real nice guy

Professor Krisanu is a truly caring professor. He gets to know each student and is very approachable. Lectures can get a bit confusing but he is very helpful in office hours. The tests and homework assignments are fair. He has a very sweet sense of humor, I would definitely recommend taking him =).

Dr. Kris is genuinely a great person. Both he and Dr. Deb were very knowledgeable, approachable and helpful during class and through prompt e-mails. That having been said, Dr. Kris is very bad at lecturing. He teaches 500 level courses but is unable to dumb it down for courses like 134/136 so he relies on his notes 100%.

Was such an awesome teacher! Completely cared about every student. I had him for lab, but he took time to make sure everyone was doing well in his lab and also the class. Continues to keep up with you to make sure everything is going well with you.

He is a great teacher. Really makes chemistry understandable and interesting.It's a hard class to start with, but he makes it a little easier by giving formulas and not overly complicated problems on exams. Makes himself available and does a great job explaining what will be on the exams. If you're taking chem, Dr. B is the guy to take it with.

Had him for both Chem 134 and Chem 136L. He is the man for chemistry. Take him, if you get the chance.

Dr. B knows all 300 kids by name and talks to everyone of them. he will come up to you and ask you how you're feeling about the material and ask how prepared you are. his jokes are funny since he's foreign. you have to study tho. he gives practice tests for a reason. only downside is his office hours are always booked. Great guy and great teacher.

Dr. B is awesome. He teaches the material really well. The book is useless, he tells you everything you need to know. He takes the time to explain everything, and answers all questions. His practice exams are the best because it gives you a preview of what the exam will be like. If you can get an A on practice exams, you can get an A in theclass.

Dr. B has been absolutely my favorite professor so far at umd. I had him for lecture and recitation and he ALWAYS made himself available to answer questions and makes sure you learn the material, even if it means staying an hour after recitation is over. Dr. B is the best! He is very understanding and wants his students to do well. He helps in anyway that he can, as long as you ask him. His class isn't too difficult but it is not one that you can blow off and still expect to get a good grade in. If you have the option, I would totally take him. He is awesome!!

Amazing teacher. For 280 students he knew everyones grade patterns and names. He made himself more than available to help. If you have the option to take him do it because he is amazing

He is a really nice teacher and is really concerned about each and every student. However, sometimes he assumes that his students know a lot more than we actually do, sometimes he would teach stuff and I would have no idea any of it was saying but when I'd read it from the textbook it made more sense. In the end, I love this guy :)

Dr. B is a good teacher! You can tell he really cares about his students. I would see him a lot in the science building and he would always ask me how I was doing in class or if I had any questions. His lectures are a little scattered sometimes but I thought he usually got the point across. Many opportunities for points other than tests!

GREAT PROF! He's a really cool guy and cares about all of his students. It was my first ever chem class and I ended up with an A. I studied but even if you do poorly on the exams you can do great b/c there are so many opportunities for points! Exams aren't too bad and lectures are fun(sometimes rushed tho). TAKE HIM if you can!

I never leave comments here, but feel compelled to do so for him. Such a wonderful lab instructor- so patient, funny, and genuinely loves teaching. I've never enjoyed lab so much. Still always makes it a point to say hello even though the class is over- cannot recommend Dr. B enough!!!

Made me love chemistry. No one better to teach you Gen Chem 1 than Dr. B. Go to class, take good notes, and pay attention to ctools and your email, (at night too) there's a lot of useful stuff Dr. B will post, so take advantage. First, let me say that I have rarely met a professor that cares about his students succeeding than Dr. B. He made chem enjoyable for me which is saying alot because I loathe chem. Advice is to study his sample tests and do the worksheets. His tests are very fair but you will definitely find a few that were never taught. Overall, I highly recommend!

Tests are fair and you should be fine as long as you do the practice exams and the worksheets that he gives out during lecture. Also attend lecture for the I.C.Es

I had Dr. B as a lab instructor and he was great Very helpful and always available to talk whether you need help with the subject or just some advice. Sometimes it might feel like he talks a lot but if you actually pay attention to what he's saying, its pretty much all the information you need to breeze through the assignment. Plus, he's funny.

Lots of online homework. But he gives practice exams which are nearly identical to the real ones. You can tell he loves chemistry and teaching. Always willing to explain things again and very approachable outside of class. Good sense of humor as well. He'll go out of his way to help you.

This was my only chem class I had to take, and I must say, it was worth it. Dr B. is one of the best professors this campus has to offer. When you ask him for help, he will ALWAYS help you out. He gives out a ton of points as well on the homework assignments and the in-class exercises. Only downside: sometimes he rushes his lectures.

If you have the chance to take Dr. B, TAKE HIM! Dr. B has an accent that you have to get used to, but after the first week you'll start to understand him a little better. He is an extremely funny professor and tries to find other ways of explaining hard concepts to understand. His exams are not too bad, but he does provide practice exams.

This class is the perfect level of difficulty! Not back-breakingly difficult but not extremely easy either. You have to work for a good grade. I would advise to read the textbook before lecture in order to save confusion. He also gives an extra credit assignment, which was awesome! Best professor at the University of Michigan! I seriously love Dr. B! Chemistry is hard, if you do the work (mastering chem) and go to SI you could for sure get a B in this class. Go to his office and ask questions, and read the book if you don't get something. Try not to skip class, he'll remember you more if you attend his class.

Best professor at UMD. Hes a very patient and caring professor. From the first day of class you instantly feel like you want to learn everything you can from him. If your having any problems or questions he will literally mentor you and help you as much as he can. He notices when students put in all the effort. Just work hard and youll do great.

Easily one of the best professor in UMD! Extremely funny and gives plenty of opportunities for a person to get an A! Make sure to do all the homework he assigns because they are worth a test grade in the end. As far as exams, they are almost identical to the practice exams he posts. By far one of the best professors I've had. He is clear with his explanations and makes lecture fun, but the coursework he gave was heavy and the tests were difficult and short on time.

Dr. B is the best chem professor you will ever have! He does make you work for it, but he does curve the class so don't have serious anxiety if you don't do well on an exam. However, DO show hard work and improvement, as this is what really matters! He wants to make sure you actually learn, don't be a grade grubber, and work hard in all aspects!

Dr. B is the easiest professors Ive taken at UMD and youll rarely ever find an easy science teacher. He offers 30 points of extra credit at the end of the semester. His practice exams greatly resemble his actual exams so if you master the practice exams and fully understand it, then you're ready for the exam. He truly wants his students to succeed.

Took 134/136. To get a good grade, go to SI and do practice problems/practice exams. Even if you aren't good at chem, he will make it easier on you if you put in the effort. He does not have any powerpoints so get ready to write fast with him and make sure you can read his misspelled words. He does not give you your exams on time and even for the practice exams he posts them close to the exam date. Get ready to read the book because he only goes over basics and you'd need to know the details for the exam and homework.

I took Dr. B for Chem 136 last winter and it was my favorite class. I recommend him if you are willing to work hard and put in the appropriate time for this class. Attend lectures, do end of chapter practice problems, and go to SI. Plus, he has an amazing research lab and recruits hard-working students from his general chemistry courses.

Dr. B is a great professor! You will not learn much during the lectures and you have to teach yourself everything. However, exams are straightforward and he tells you what is going to be on them, so just study the study guides! He's very nice and remembers everyone and will ask about you in the future!

He's a decent lecturer but you'll have to put in the time to teach yourself the material; read the book! He is extremely personable and I would take another class of his if given the opportunity. Makes getting an A in chemistry possible. You're given 2nd and 3rd chances in his class. Little mistakes mean nothing in the end if you're a hard worker. Tests are easy if you learn the material enough. study 2-3 hours and you'll get 85%+ every time. Funny guy. I skipped entire lectures and got 90%+ on tests. Again, just study and do the homework.

Dr. B makes lots of jokes and tries to form good relationships with his students. His lectures can be a bit confusing sometimes because he doesnt do many practice problems, but if you go to recitation then he can be very helpful. His practice exams have the EXACT same format as the real thing. Drops 5 out of the 13 recitation worksheets.

Course requires a lot of time & effort (as expected for chem). Lecture can be confusing @ times, but may be due to nature of chem. Dr. B gave 40 points extra credit. Made final exam v easy bc of low class avg on prev exams. Often reuses q's from worksheets, etc. for exams. Work hard outside of class, ask him questions, and u can do well.

DO URSELF A FAVOR AND TAKE HIM. Great lecturer, if he goes too fast ask him to slow down and he will. Teaches everything U see on exams so no surprises. Gives you the info on exam so you know what to study, has accent but easy to understand. Great teacher and person. Take HIM!
