He is very enthusiastic which helps keep me awake. He likes to crack jokes and use funny examples. This class was not very hard because it was kind of a mean nothing class. I would definetly take another class with Krishna.

easy class. of the few times I went to lecture, Krishna seemed very enthusiastic and interested in the material (which makes sense since he created the course from scratch). Very animated in speech and movement, but somewhat messy notes.

he really explains subjects down to the smallest detail so he is very helpful. He really got me intrested in economics! i think he is one of the best people to be teaching economics because he really enjoys the subject. Saying that all of his information comes out clear and understandable!

Tons of readings! (You cannot find a courseware from bookstore that has more pages than this course, and You MUST read). Readings & Lecture notes are not related at all. Easy to hit 'B' range but very difficult to hit 'A' range.

Trust me! Econ 103+105 is highly recommended before this course. If you are good at "BS", this is a course for you. As the one before said, "B" range is easy to get, "A" is near impossible and he won't curve

Krishna is the youngest econ professor and he really makes his course interresting. If you're good at making up "BS" that makes sense, you will probably do good.

krishna's classes were clear and enthusiastic. To the person who said all you had to do was make up a whole lot of BS, obviously you didn't in any way try for the whole experience in this class. In any way i hope you fail in life if that is your theory to follow by. Krishna taught well and, at no time, did making up some BS look as a good option.

Pendakur's gotten harder people. I think he's been reading these messages and taking them in consideration. The average for of the first exams of the fall semester was 23/40, which is roughly 58%. With 6 A's in this class on the second midterm and 23 F's, I don't see you anyone can "BS" this stuff. If you think you can, you're sorely mistaken.

It is not as easy as the rate showed. Getting a B is hard. Two much reading stuff. Focus more on his notes, and do not write on your own opinion, just write what he likes.

Govt&Econ - found out via TA middle of the sem. the course is not about govt/econ but about insurance, healthcare OTHER. TOO MUCH READING. Midterms TOO LONG. The only 'easy' marks were assignments. He thinks students who leave early in midterm means the MT must be easy for student. Can't the student leave early cause he gave up on the MT? U get C-.

not a hard working or smart student. i read the comments before taking the course. expected a B and got an A-. studied 2 days before mts & exam. key to doing well are read text, lectures, read notes posted online, tutorials and nice, lenient TAs. he was great at teaching and attending his lectures wasn't so bad. fun dude

Prof. Pendakur is an outgoing person, but the materials are too confusing for anyone who does not have an economics background. There was also a lot of reading, a majority of which was beyond the reasonable comprehension of first-year students. I probably would have regretted taking the course had I not receive the grade which I did!

Cool Laid back, easy going, what can I say. My only complaint is he tends to swear alot. Learned a tremendous amount and he was fair. What do you expect from a guy who graduated his Ph.d from berkeley.

He is a great prof! He gives interesting lectures and everything he talks about is related to the final/midterm. You will do good in his class if you attend lectures, go to tutorials, and read his notes. I didn't find the textbooks all that useful and make sure you ask the TA's for help when needed...they are great!

very interesting class and the prof is a great guy. Do not read the textbook because it's so boring and useless, just read the novel as it has every single concept of this course written in plain language. It's actually very difficult to get lower than B if you attend all the lectures and read the novel.

he is really fun guy... the lectures are often entertaining... but lots and lots of readings... in terms of grading, it really depends on your TA because he/she is the one that does ALL the markings... I had an okay TA so our class avg was avg... the other class had a easier TA so their avg was slightly higher... overall, nice class...

One of the coolest, most interesting and captivating proofs in the friecken universe! Before taking this class I had never fathomed that economics would be so interesting. I have turned into a believer.

I love this prof! Hes is so entertaining. The only complaint I would have would be the emmense amount of reading that is required. Also, the T.A's mark all of your work, not the prof, so your grade really depends on your T.A.

Insane amounts of reading, novel/courseware/extra they are long and parts of it are tested in midterms and finals. Class notes only help a little. Assignments almost every other week, and those require you to read more extra which arent too too bad.

Great class, Great Teacher!! He makes the class fun, the notes interesting, and he's really helpful. All you have to do is take some notes, read the book and attend tutorials. I barely read the book and still got an A. 5 mini-assignments, easyily marked. Chiller prof, sometimes hyperactive speaker. NO econ backround needed,class reccomended to all!

Painful mathematics class. The professor isn't very good at communicating the material, nor at the TAs. I haven't felt this nervous about a class in all my time at university, and I'm a good student (GPA ~3.5).

Tutorials are a waste of time, they should be spent teaching eviews, not going over the definition of "population mean". no clear direction or help with using the EVIEWS software. Slow to reply to emails. lab is useless and closed half the time (not flexible schedule). textbook and lecture will not prepare you for midterms

THIS COURSE IS NOT WELL RUN.. HOW CAN HE EXPECT STUDENTS TO KNOW THAT LEVEL OF EVIEWS IF THERE IS NO GUIDE AT ALL ON HOW TO WORK ON THAT PROGRAM, EVIEWS TA IS USELESS AND SO ARE "LAB" HOURS. EXAMS AND QUIZZES ARE NOT BASED ON TEXTBOOK OR NOTES.

I WARN YOU. DO NOT TAKE THIS WITH HIM. HE IS EXTREMELY HORRIBLE. I don't ask for easiness, but if he wants this course to be hard, then he MUST explain the materials very clearly. Seriously, I didn't understand about 2/3 of his lecture.

Worst teacher ever. He makes the class impossible to do. Takes 20hrs to do the Eviews assig, and the TA does not help. Quiz average was 20%. Midterm average was a fail. I hope he never teaches this class again. Has no idea how to explain the materail and makes it math intensive. AVOID him at all costs.

I want my money back. Quite possibly one of the worst classes I've ever taken; poor explanation, way too math intensive, no teaching of EVIEWS which we need to know how to use. I hope they never let him teach this class again.

he is a tough prof, very hard assignments in eviews without giving any sort of guide on the use of the program. He doesnt really know how to communicate, confusing lectures and very high expecttions from students. i will say, AVOID him at all costs!

don't be fooled by his hippie appearance and easy-going personality. writes insanely tough exams and communicates more ineffectively than an immigrant peasant. assignments are mostly based on eviews which isn't taught in class. TA is condescending and unhelpful. not to mention this isn't a cmpt course

TERRIBLE JUST PLAIN TERRIBLE, tests us on material which we were never taught. TA's were terrible except for one of them! The only good news was that I used geico and saved on car insurance!! TERRIBLE, OH MAN!! SHEESH! I WANT A REFUND!

His delivery of topics is horrible and he is lazy when explaining in class to fully explain certain things. Exams are tough and most of the TA's are useless. Assignment expectations are ridiculous, this isn't even a compsci course... Worst class I've ever taken.

I have no idea what i have learned in this class. Exams and assignments are VERY tough. Pendakur doesn't know how to teach nor explain the notes clearly. TAs are useless and marked unfairly. Avoid him at all cost!!

I think Pendakur did zero preparation before teaching the calss. Has no idea how to comminucate the materail. TAs are usless except BEN, and exams are brutal. Eviews assignemtns are impposible to complete,and are never tought in class. The Lab TA is the most useless TA ever. His only answer is "look it up yourself through the eviews guide". REFUND!

Assignments are brutal, but not impossible. Lectures will make you unable to understand the course. Key point is the text. I'm <3.0 student and ended up with an A in this course because I only looked the text. Don't go to class, they are waste of time..sadly..

This guy is a goof. Its like he took a one way trip to dreamland after recieving his Phd and never came back.His lectures seem like he is in a hypnotic state and he can't communicate worth****. He is far from being the most organized prof but still is the best stats prof I had. His lectures can get complicated/assignments are tough but it's a 3rd year university Econometrics class and some students still expect to get it all served on a plate,grow up. My buds and I did our reading/assignments and retained a lot from this class.

prior to this course i heard that krishna has never taught this course. after this course, i believed it. it is THE worst courses i've taken at sfu. ever. can tell econometrics is his life but cannot communicate the material at all. the T.A. helped but he was off in his own double PhD world. the average for the midterm was ~40% 'ough said.

Stay away from this professor at all cost. Had him for BUEC 333 and it was the hardest course I've taken at SFU. Notes are not clear, assignments is not fair and final was extremely hard. He is the reason why I had to delay my graduation 2 more semester. We had a quiz where the class average was 1/10. STAY AWAY FROM KRISHNA PENDAKUR.

Not sure what everyone is talking about. Professor Pendakur is tough, but he is fair. Just because he doesn't hand out A's to every student, doesn't mean he can't teach. I went to the classes, and read the texbook, and when I couldn't understand something, he was quite helpful in clarifying

ZERO STRUCTURE. His notes are useless and different than what he says in lectures. His exam prep notes are also completely off topic. DO NOT take this course with him unless you're an economics genius... It's a shame because he's quite funny and also a good speaker. But he does not know how to organize a course... at all.

This course was a grad level applied econometrics course. I would say this prof was disorganized and his lectures were seemingly clear at first but turned out to be very confusing. The worst experience was that the assignments were all about his own papers: replicating his results all the time but never knew the correct answers. Very disappointed!

For Econ 383 inequality course, make sure to do the readings, make notes from each one, and study your notes. You'll get an A easy. Very knowledgable teacher, has a lot of impressive work he's done, and experience. Also passionate about econ and has a sense of humour :)

Krishna assigns very long papers as reading material, but the subject matter is pretty interesting. The quizzes are one question each and essentially free marks if you read the material. If you can explain each the assigned content of each lecture in a page or two, you can ace the midterm and final. He's also pretty funny.

He's one of the most passionate professors I've ever met in my 3 years at SFU so far. His passion for understanding and solving poverty is contagious. Not afraid to say what most of us are thinking, lively and hilarious, invited guest speakers to bring the material to life. LOVE IT! Be warned, there's lots of reading, it's tough work but FUN WORK!

He is a good teacher. His lectures are very clear and exams are fair. The textbook is simple and helpful. One of the hints to prepare for exams is to read each week assigned article and make a summary right away, it will be much easier than doing all of them before exams. He doesn't impose his opinion. He encourages you to think by yourself.

Dr. Pendakur is very laid back, and an excellent professor for first year students. That being said, his lecture structure is very poor and the concepts he teaches are very abstract. You would expect an economics course to be concrete, but he tries to avoid graphs and equations as much as possible, and his clarity sometimes suffers as a result.

He's a wonderful prof! Super funny and approachable, and very clear about what his exams are like. For the midterm and final, MAKE SURE you do the practice midterms that he provides AND go on his online website with past exams and lecture notes, as one portion will be identical to the set of questions and the other portion will be very similar.

He's a phenomenal prof. Lectures are interesting easy to understand with his explanation. He assigns lots of papers but goes through all the key concepts in class. Also, 40% of your grade is essentially attendance so if you just go to class your almost guaranteed a pass.

The class is very easy (attend every lecture and you're guaranteed to pass). Krishna himself is vey passionate about the material but he's unorganized in the way the lectures are structured. If you've done any econ classes before probably avoid, as this class is insanely boring and the content is pretty dry and won't further your econ knowledge.

He is hilarious - by far one of the most interesting professors at SFU. Class was very laid back. The topics he covers are super important and many aren't covered in other economics courses. He explains things in a non-technical way which is good for economics and non-economics students. Super fair exams and always available for extra help. A+++

He is the GOAT. Super hilarious lectures. You will learn a lot from him. Exams are fair - he just expects you to have paid attention in lecture and explain the basic material. Definitely an awesome class even though it's not required.

This course was excellent, and that's a large part due to Krishna's lectures. The highlight for me was the lecture on carbon taxes. It was fascinating to experience through the lecture and MobLab how carbon taxes are an efficient form of carbon reduction. I've legit relistened to the lecture like 3 times cuz I enjoyed it so much.

Krishna provides a comprehensive view of the world of economics and his lectures were engaging due to that reason. Also, his open teaching style made lectures enjoyable. My one complaint is that there could be an awful lot of reading. He also said that if you have a background in economics that this course would be a waste of time, but it was not.

Krishna was a great professor, he allows cheat sheets in all his exams. I was able to get an A without really studying my butt off. Pay close attention and watch lecture recordings and add to your notes. The details you need to know to do super well in his class are not really in the lecture slides themselves but in what he says during lectures.
