The class was a great choice. A professor is good when they can make you want to do the work and still keep a decent grade. The first couple weeks i was sure it was going to be horiable and when finals came around i was upset to end the class. Stick with this course you will be surprised by the progression.

After 20 years out of school wasen't sure what to expect. The tests are hard and a good understanding of the material will get you an A. Her lectures cover material well enough; if you actually read the chapter then the material will stick.

Very helpful if you did show that you were trying and working towards a goal. Lots of material but really took time to explain it. But dont take if you are a slacker. There is real work and if you are up for the challenge, an A is not at all impossible.

This class was alot of fun. Dr. Stilianos uses visual, and class participation. She wwrites alot of notes so make sure you get them all. Her test are word tricky, so read carefully. But overall I wish the class was longer.

She goes above and beyond to help you learn and so far she is the best professor I have had at OCC...she realizes her students have lives outside of class...she is great

I thought Professor Stilianos was a great teacher. While psychology is not my favorite subject, she made it fun. The class was mildly difficult, so if you have no desire to learn and actually try, I'd recommend taking a different teacher.

This class is for the hard working student. She is so passionate about psychology that she seems to teach it as if she wants you to have the same passion for it. Attendance is DEFINITELY a must, hw is very easy, but tests are somewhat difficult. Even with notecards. She is extremely clear in what she says so taking good notes is very important.

She keeps things really interesting. Granted, there is a lot of work, you will be relieved if you get it all out of the way early. If she knows you're putting forth effort she will meet you halfway. On all of the tests you're allowed to use a 3x5 notecard and whatever you can write on it you can use these were very useful. LOVE KRISHNA! Love Psych!

I have her currently. She is an awesome teacher and is very passionate. Textbook wont help for tests, but you will need it for homework. Tests are okay, you NEED to study. Very consistent in topics of Psychology and keeping tabs with homework, projects, and other assignments. Make sure to keep up. She will require you to do a lot of studying and work for everything, but it's worth your money to take this course.

This class was really stupid. I'm majoring in psychology so this was the second or third time I've taken a psych class and I learned nothing from it. As long as you do the work you get a 100% though. But the lectures are boring and she's really annoying and makes weird comments all the time. Overall, not too bad.

Online is really not great. Class consists of weekly "discussion" assignments and weekly online tests. I did not like that she doesn't give any individual feedback to anyone's posts. She responds in a mass email and honestly based on comments it seems like it a "general" form email based on pat responses. I did not get anything out of this class

Awesome teacher

Excellent instructor. This is the most useful class I've ever taken. I have applied so much of what she's taught me to my life. She's not too hard a teacher, provided you do the work. Sometimes she goes off topic and she kind of likes to hear herself talk, but she makes sure her content is useful to her students. Highly recommend her!

I absolutely loved this class, she made it easy to understand. But for the test you need to take really good notes. Other than that very easy and interesting.

She is INCREDIBLE. The best cheater I have ever had at OCC. She makes it so that you can get an A if you put in effort. She gracefully guides her students to success and teaches you about psychology in a way that is textbook but also relates it to life situations. I would highly recommend her. :)

I took her summer class at first the information on the site was not too clear on how to submit your work. Almost got a bad grade out of it but she excused it. Anyways, good way to apply things to real life. Mostly essay's that are presented to the rest of the class for feedback. Quiz's are easy just find the answers in the book.

Dr. Stilianos is a very good teacher, but obviously you need to place effort in her class to get the grade you want. Do no plan on skipping out of her classes because she has a lot of details on her exams. A group project is given and make sure you find reliable classmates because she grades each student individually based on participation.

Learning comes naturally because she makes it so interesting. Passing the class should be pretty easy, however it is not a "show up and pass" class. You need to put in effort and do the work assigned.

For a person who does not like the subject material I still passed the class. She has a good teaching style with various techniques. Everything is laid out in the schedule and she reminds you what is coming up every class. The only way you can fail this class is if you do not do the work and miss a lot of classes.

She gave me full credit on ONE assignment throughout the semester. She would mark me down for bad hand writing, wouldn't accept an assignment if I was late to class. Everyone in the class loved her but she didn't like me and it was very obvious. if you have ANY kind of special needs, don't sign up for her class. (I'm extremely physically disabled)

Very nice lady in general. Extremely knowledgeable in the Psychology field, and it shows in class. Very tough grader on tests, I gave a full answer once with relevant information, though still got 0/10 for that specific essay question. Gives opportunity for 20 extra credit points maximum for total grade which is out of 555 points. Just study.

This is a professor who really knows her stuff and knows how to teach. She teaches in a hands on visual method which makes learning very easy and enjoyable. This is a class that I learned a lot from and I would recommend this professor to anyone.

This professor knows her stuff. She is very knowledgeable in this area and lectures the whole class time. There is a not that difficult project, easy group project, easy homework assignments, you get the essay questions for the exams beforehand so you can study them and write out a good response. She does give out study guides and extra credit.

This woman seriously works so hard at her job and is very educated in her field. Her lectures are exactly like the test. She offers extra credit and always answers emails immediately. I would not skip her class though because her lectures cover a lot and it doesnt go with the book. Dont buy the book you wont use it at all.

took this professor in the summer of 2018. There were 4 tests. I got a 64 on her first test and 84's on the last two. I ended the class with a b+ and had one more point to get an A-! her study guides are exactly on the test. If you write out everything she writes you will do just fine! study because this class was hard! She was really nice!

It's easy to tell when an educator has a genuine love for teaching, and Dr Stilianos certainly does. She cares deeply about all of her students and offers "mental health breaks" every 1 hour of lecture. Very clear grading criteria and excellent lectures which truly prepare you for the exams. Her class is defienlty quite simple and to the point. She gives plenty of extra credit and her grading critera is very clear. As long as you do everything with decent effort you will get a good grade. Make sure to practice the essay questions!

This is the sweetest teacher ever. I had wifi problems one night and she was so understanding and still graded my assignment. She even offered tutoring zooms which is so nice of her because most teachers dont. I recommend her to everyone, best teacher ever. She makes it very easy to pass. I thought this class was going to be more difficult considering it is psychology but it was a lot easier than I expected. Zoom study sessions were offered, extra credit was offered, and this class was an easy A. Dr. Stilianos was the first professor I had since coming back to college. I really appreciated how organized she was. She was very responsive and really helped me get back into the swing of things at school. I loved the class and part of it was because of how well it was run. I knew what to expect from day 1 because she stayed true to her syllabus.

She's a great professor and genuinely cares about her students. The work load isn't heavy or hard, and if you turn in your assignments on time you'll get an easy A. Attending class is optional for the most part, just don't overdo it. She's incredibly organized and very engaged with every student. Her main goal is for everyone to pass the class.

Even though attendance wasn't mandatory, Dr. Stilianos made me want to attend class because of her interesting and calm lectures. No exams, usually about a page long discussion boards that are due (almost) every week with some 20-ish questions online quizzes. Some "longer" assignments spread throughout the course, but still super easy. I LOVE HER!

This was my second class taken with Professor Stilianos. I was a little shocked with how much tougher the second course was honestly. You need to be ready to read as many as thee full chapters a week, which is a lot, and admittedly I wasn't as much a fan of the textbook used for the course. The professor was incredible.
