Great person she really knows her stuff and teaches you things that you will actually use. It's worth taking for she likes to interact with her students and does a good job in getting us students to speak our minds.

Great Class if you are willing to open your mind and not afraid to say what you are thinking. She is in your face, but don't let her intimidate you! You may even change your mind about things you never dreamed of changing! Fulfilling class.

She uses the approach of bluntness to teach her classes, but face to face she is a wonderful person, and is friendly.

She is a very well-educated teacher and she knows her stuff backwards and forwards, if there is something she is not clear on, she will study and get back to you by the next class period. I am not interested on Anthropology so it was hard for me.

To sum up she's only like the best professor in the world. She not only teaches well, but most of her class is very interesting and she is such an funny teacher. If you want to take anthropology you have to take this Professor!!! I am serious.

To who ever said that she talks about her life to much needs to DROP THE CLASS!! What better way to learn about cultures than from a prof. that is from one? She makes the class fun and you wont, so drop the class. Take this class green card or not.

All of the people who say anything bad about her are stupid people who should not be in college! She is very highly educated, knows her material, and is highly respected by many students! Only the students who cant handle not getting an easy A-will weep!

Very educated in her field, makes the class interesting by provoking debates. Makes you think. It is a pretty challenging class for a 100-level and the tests are HARD. Be ready to read or you'll be completely lost. Great professor though.

Kali is awesome. She's funny. I don't think there is a class yet that we haven't laughed in. She is really good at getting you to look at your culture as if you weren't in it. The essay part of the test is the only part that is hard, but if you read and listen...*shrug* HIGHLY recommend her class.

I loved her class. She's very knowledgeable about the subject and she always starts interesting conversations in class. If you don't do the reading and take notes, you won't do well on the tests. I would recommend her if you're open to new opinions.

The only problem I had is that she is an extreme feminist and seems to blame the males for every bad thing a man has ever done, but she is a great teacher who tries her best and makes you laugh. And as long as you read the Chapters you'll do fine on the Exams.

I feel she is that kind of a feminist who is not anti-men but is definitely anti-oppression, anti-patriarchy, and anti-exploitation. So what is wrong with that? She is difficult, demanding and devils' advocate! Be aware, you might learn a fewin her class.

You really do have to read at least SOMEtimes, or else you won't do well in her class--she'll even come around and check your notebook to see if you've taken any notes. She is a feminist, but she's not as hard as she seems.. she really does care about all of her students.

Kali is a great teacher. VERY opinionated, but that's ok - leads to some interesting arguments. Fun to debate, and she WILL debate you. IF YOU CAN TAKE HER IN THE WINTER SEMESTER, she drives from Lansing every day, and so she cancels class a lot!!!!!!

I had her for Into to Cultural Anthropology. She's extremely intelligent and cultured; very much inspired my interested in foreign cultures. The trobrianders were boring, but she made them seem interesting. I always knew what was expected of me and my grade.

This was one of my most interesting classes, but make sure you read or she will make fun of you. Tests are moderately easy. She expects everyone to read and take part, but thats no biggie.

Kali~ Is a wonderful teacher. She expects a lot from her students, can get somewhat confusing on what your supposed to do. She is so experienced, and this class helps you to view other cultures. I think Americans should learn to not be so greedy, and see how other people live. She is wonderful.

An excellent professor from whom I learned a lot. I imagine that the students who brought their grudges to this page are, by now, wishing they'd paid better attention to their educations than their fragile egos. A class isn't worthwhile unless there are expectations. Intersting, engaging professor.

i like her unstructured in-depth dicussions. I learn more from these conversations that some structured power point presentations, which basically informs you without any analysis or critical thinking!

Kali is a GREAT teacher. She encourages her students to think outside the box and question why we believe and feel the way we do. It's challenging but well worth it. Study and follow her assignments exactly and you'll be fine. I recommend her!!!

I was nervous to take this class at first because I heard she was kind of mean. It was a pleasure to be in her class. If you participate you will have no problems. If you are a smart a** she will be one back. She is very laid back and fun to be around. Great prof!

I loved her!! She really peaked my interest.

I really enjoyed the course. I loved listening to her stories that related to the course. There is never a dull moment during class. She sparked my interest in anthropology. She may seem opinionated, but I never felt that I was forced to believe what she believes. I would recommend taking one of her course. It is quite an experience.

Kali is awseome! Stay through the first two weeks and you'll see why. Her comments along with her accent make you laugh! Great class discussion and good times with her! I am really interested in Anthropology now. TAKE HER!!! It's really a great experience and she'll always remember you.

Educated, Seasoned debater, and Highly helpful. She will introduce people to different ideas, ones that most people have never been exposed to. So, keep an open mind, it will not hurt you. Debate her in class, prove your case, however do not spit out stuff you hear from pundits or TV personalities. Use your mind. Talk to her outside of class.

Kali is a great Professor. She is so hilarious and is very interesting. This my second time taking her for a class. If you come to class do what is expected of you and study for test (use the book website to help with test) you pass with an A. Also participate in class b/c she loves it. Anyone who thinks different is crazy. Shes very sarcastic too.

This class is pretty easy. Just be sure to read the chapters she tells you to. We had quite a few discussions in class that were unrelated to the material, but very entertaining. I plan on taking her again.

Kali is one of my favorite professors here. She will open your mind and give you an entire new outlook on life if you let her. Granted, she is a radical feminist, but who doesn't have their own opinions? I hated the class at first and then i started to listen and i loved it. Plan on taking her again. Highly reccommend!

Love Kali, she will open your eyes to the world around you and show you the tiny things you overlooked before. Guaranteed. Take the class if you're actually ambitious about your education. Don't waste the time of your peers by taking the class if you don't plan to participate. You will love the discussions. I plan to take another one of her classes

kali is a great teacher. She is highly opinionated, so don't take the class if you can't deal with that. The discussions are fun and she gets everyone involved. This was the first time she taught this course and she made it extremely fun to learn. We even took a field trip! If your a forensics major you should definately take this as an elective!

I only took this class because I needed it, but I LOVE it! She's a very dedicated professor and VERY knowledgeable. She's funny and extremely opinionated. You -DO- have to read the book though; her class time is to engage students rather than teach the book. But if you read it, and it's easy reading, you'll be fine!

I took Kali's class back in 2001. I found it to be 100% interesting and I firmly believe that she tries to get her students to see the world through new eyes. I found her class to be extremely hard, but she is one of those professors who appreciate a student who is up for the challenge. I wish she could teach every one of my college courses.

Very easy teacher if you get to know her, but you need to read your book and get to know her.

She is a very good professor. She wants her students to engage and actually get something out of the class. I took it because it fufilled some requirements, but I found it to be very interesting. She actually teaches, unlike some professors who just give you a powerpoint presentation.

Kali was great! shes passionate about what shes teaching its a class thats kinda on the tough side but Kali makes it pretty easy just go to class listen to her exapmles and at least skim the chapters she tells you to. no HW which is good since its supposed to be a "fun class". since i was interested in the subject the class was way easy

Good class to take. Kali was very interesting and the tests/quizzes etc are not very difficult if you attend class regularly and read the book a little bit. Attendance is not mandatory. Kali's very opinionated but doesn't force her beliefs on you. Go to class with an open mind and you'll do fine.

I had Kali both at FSU and again this semester at MSU. She is a great professor, but has really difficult exams. She can also be vague sometimes in terms of expectations. Reading the book is mandatory and the only way to do well. She tells you up front on the first day that you will either love or hate her. She will open your mind if you let her!

This is an awesome class. I would highly reccommend it for anyone going into any field of healthcare. She uses lecture to expand on topics in the book - so be sure to read before class. She is very opinionated, but she loves it if you fight back too. Awesome discussions. If you ask as a class, you can always have take home exams that are easy-peasy

Kali is one of my favorite teachers on campus. She has a way of teaching that just makes the information stick. I use what she has taught me every day and Ive learned more about myself in this class than I have at my entire career at FSU. I recommend her to anyone who is willing to work hard, enter class with an open mind, and has a will to learn.

Great! Your main obligation is reading the book, but it's not overwhelming. Always responded promptly and is available during office hours. Has an accent, but not hard to understand. She's opinionated, but her delivery is hilarious, not preachy. I'm intelligent, but a professional slacker, and she's the first professor who's ever motivated me.

Read the book or else you'll fail - simple as that! The tests are split about half and half with book material and lecture material. If you don't respect her, don't bother coming to class, she'll tear you to shreds. You learn a lot with this class and it's recommended, but it isn't an easy A.

People say you either love Kali or you hate her. Although I have experienced both of those at times, I without a doubt came out of the class loving her and all that she stands for! She is an amazing person, and a memorable teacher! I will take the things I learned in her class with me forever. It's a tough class, but well worth all the work!

Khali is not for everyone, but I absolutely adore her. Im enrolled in my second class with her currently. As long as you do your work and listen in class, youll do good. Shes really easy to get ahold of outside of class and always willing to answer questions (she actually encourages them). Would 100% recommend her

Professor Kali can be intense, but her lectures are engaging. Doing the readings and using unstuck study for practice made the tests manageable. Overall, a challenging but rewarding class.
