HORRIBLE teacher. Short tests with all the questions worth alot of points. She is not very clear, and barley answers your questions. On tests if you don't answer the questions like she wants you to its wrong. DO NOT TAKE HER!

Relies too much on the MathXL online program to do the teaching, this class is pretty much an online class where you teach yourself. Did one example of each problem, which were examples from the book, then we were let to fend for ourselves. Don't take.

Aside from being a nice lady, I wasn't a fan of Mrs. Camilo at all. She relied too much on the Math XL program to teach us, so I felt like this was more of an online class. And when she does decide to "teach", she doesn't do a great job at it and vaguely answers your questions. If math isn't your thing, avoid this teacher at all costs!

If you are not strong in math; do not take this professor! She relies too much on the math XL program, and does not even teach at all!! In addition, the average for her course was a 50. Clearly there is something wrong with the XL program or her method of teaching. She should call it quits in the class room! Run for the hills with this one!

I never write anything on here, but I should warn everyone taking her. When she writes a problem on the board, she doesn't go over the problem. The majority of class are failing or on the verge and all she counts is the tests. Get a new method of teaching or retire. P.S Some students DO NOT need calculus. Also, hard to approach her if you need help

Her online class is so difficult

Don't take this class if you actually want to learn math. She does not explain her answers fully and does a lot of the work in her head instead of explaining it to the class and when you ask her to explain she simply says "well it's obvious" when it's not. Take it from someone who loves Algebra and Calculus, she is not a good professor.

Relies only on textbook examples. Does not explain material. Be prepared to teach yourself all the material. Also, does not give quizzes. Only gives tests and does not give you any idea what her tests are like. Does give opportunity for SOME extra credit points. If you need someone to Walk you through the course this is not the professor for you.

Take my advice, or take the torture and hope for the best. Im an honors student and this has been my lowest grade that I have ever received in my entire life. Its really ridiculous and patheticly hard for only being Pre-Calc! I didn't learn anything from it. Professor is very rude, not helpful, and not understanding. Want advice? Stay away from her

She really can't teach math. I did wonderful last semester in college algebra earning high As and now I'm barely passing. Makes the tests extremely difficult. You will never know what will be one them. No review, no help, only people who do well are the ones who either had are repeating the course for a better grade since they know it already.

As a student who struggles with math the most, I need a teacher to care especially in a 5 credit fast moving math course. I've never had someone as terrible and rude as her. When asking for help, she breezes through it and acts like she can not be bothered, when you ask her question you get looks, or she doesn't even acknowledge you at all.

AWFUL!! If you suck at math as is, do not take this teacher. she does not explain anything! I always left her class frustrated and all she does it take problems out of the book. She assigns HW and never goes over it unless you ask. She flies through her lessons.

Be prepared to be self taught if you are taking this class online. Instructor is unwilling to assist when requesting assistance. Disappointing considering I am good at math. I didn't pay tuition to teach myself. Withdrew to attend a real class with a real teacher.

If I could give negative, I would. She does not teach you. She glides through the lesson like you're already supposed to know. When I finally asked her a question, she got annoyed and barely explained. I left this class frustrated EVERY single day. Unless you have time to spend at the math center everyday, do NOT take her. I took her a few times, I made the mistake of taking her twice. She's quite test heavy and minimally explains the material. She doesn't like questions. And be prepared for self learning and doing online math homework. If you're bad at math DO NOT TAKE HER AS A PROFESSOR

I took this prof because she was rated 3 so I figured not that bad. Well she bases most of your grade on tests. The tests are so hard bc she flies through the lessons barely explaining. I've never gotten such a low grade and I'm still at the math center every week. And Hopefully you don't have any questions bc she'll give the shortest explanation

85% of your grade are 4 tests and the 30 homework assignments are 15%. She gives little review, just tells you to do the chapter review in the back of the book. If you have a question, she gives the shortest answer and doesn't really help at all. Even going to the math center 2+ times a week didn't help me. Would never ever take her again

Do yourself a favor & take a different teacher. She is so unhelpful and if you have a question, she will belittle you & give you minimal help if any. You spend half the class coin online homework that is only worth 15% of your grade. She doesn't even give you 1/2 points or credit for the work that is right. Stay away

Very nice lady BUT not a very good teacher. She makes about 3 mistakes in one problem. Its okay to make mistakes but she makes them way too often. She goes way too fast in her lessons and she will put up a problem up in the board and while students are working on it, she just may change a sign or number. If you're not good at math, don't take her.

She does not go over anything, only 4 tests no quizzes or final exams. pass the four tests be there each class and get extra help. The absolute worst teacher to have.

if you want to actually learn something i wouldnt recommend taking her. she will do 5 sections in a day and leave no time for questions. if you ask a question she complains then writes how to do it and skips steps and if you have another question she wont answer it. she doesnt care if you pass or fail, only here for her pay check.

You can tell Professor Camilo means well, but she is all over the place. Skips steps while teaching and when you ask her to explain she says you should know that or I did that in my head but to us students, shes pulling numbers out of nowhere. Consistently makes mistakes with numbers in equations and such, making it very hard to stay focused.

wouldn't take her class ever again

I took her for college algebra and it was the worst math class Ive ever taken. She puts like five or six chapters in each test and you go through like five chapters a day. Tests are the only thing your graded on. she gives you homework she doesnt grade it but if you dont do the homework you have no idea what youre doing. And shes rude.

professor Camille takes a long time to grade things, so it can get annoying having to constantly wait for a grade when there are only 8 kids in your class. Also, the tests are only on the hardest material learned.

Horrible at explaining material. Barely answers questions when students ask to go over something again. She does the problems on the board and doesn't explain what she is doing or how she got the answer. the only grades in the gradebook are the 4 tests so if you do bad on 1, you probably wont do well. would NOT recommend.

Do not recommend!! I had her online and probably wouldn't recommend taking calculus online at all if you have the choice. She takes a long time to get back to you, takes a long time grading the portion of the test that's not multiple choice and entering the grades from the online assignments. No presence in the class/discussions at all.

Easily the worst math teacher ive ever had. She is also easily the most boring professor and everyone is basically falling asleep or not showing up to class. Would never take her again

I decided to take accelerated precalc knowing that it would be hard but this professor made it even harder than it had to be. I had to drop the class a few days before the deadline because I already knew a month in that I wouldn't be able to pass. She doesn't explain difficult problems well and expects her students to be on her skill level already.

I am taking the remote class, and the tests are awful. Tests every two weeks, not on mymathlabs (program for hw). The hw is 16% and the tests 84%. In class, goes over powerpoint that is given in mymathlab. MML taught me more than her

Worst teacher I've ever had. Makes me appreciate every high school teacher I've ever taken from the worst to the best. She constantly has trouble answering her own problems in lectures and doesn't know how to explain any processes in proper human English.

Do not take her!!! Although she seemed like a very nice lady, she does not know how to teach. There were many times where the class had to correct her mistakes. Get ready to teach yourself the 10 sections worth of material that she stuffs into one huge test. The only grades were 6 huge tests and homework. Does not walk you thru any part of problems

DO NOT DO IT! Don't even waste your time as I did. She is unhelpful and doesn't know how to teach, she just does the work in front of you and doesn't explain how to do it. When I sought help from her, she was dismissive and told me to wait for the next test and do what I felt was best. THE REVIEWS ARE TRUE. TRUST ME.

I want everyone to please, please not take her. She comes to class, and starts writing on the board, expecting a you to solve the problem you have never seen before. Prepare to work double the time with her, doing khan academy, the organic chemistry tutor on Youtube. I learned trigonometry from watching youtube and I had to pay for her class.

Math is solely a hard subject due to the professor teaching it. Especially in an precalculus accelerated. I had to do Khan academy, watch YouTube for hours at a time to learn topics she is supposed to teach me. Plus I have to pay for all of this?!?!?! I know why OCC keeps her because they make money on people who have to retake this class.

I would agree with everyone, this was an extremely stressful class. I was already kind of good at math. But if you are not choose another teacher if you can. It will save you time and money.

She is the definition of incompetence and inability. It seems that everyone here is in agreement in regards to her ability as a professor, if you can call her that.

Not gonna lie, prior to taking her class and reading the reviews I thought maybe I had a chance to pass and all was fine. She seems like a nice person and all but as soon as you start class she has no waste in time as she writes down problems and gives no explanation how she got to the answer. If I had to choose, choose a different profesor.

People like her should not be math teachers. Her knowledge is limited as she barely answers questions with depth. DO NOT TAKE HER. her class was all test grades, no opportunities for credit. She doesn't have the character to address a class and you can barely hear what she says sometimes. More than half the class dropped.

Don't just don't. I am here to rate her just to hopefully stop you from taking her. I excelled in math until I had her. She doesn't teach at all, and you basically have to teach yourself everything. There are only 4 tests, and they all all only 10-20 questions, so if you get a few wrong, your grade plummets with average grades in the 40's.

This professor was the worst professor I had at OCC. Half of the class dropped this class by drop date and probably more after the drop date. She would give the hardest examples and rush through the problems missing many steps. She would be rude if you answered a question incorrect. The amount of homework was extreme for a 3 credit class.

Please don't take her. She doesn't know how to teach, painful 5 months, tests are the only grade in the class.

I did not learn a single thing from day one to now the third week (where I am now dropping this class, and we have a test tomorrow). I'd ask questions to be met with blank looks and no help. Do NOT take any course with this woman, she cannot teach nor help you in any way, it was the biggest waste of time in my life to date.

She is a horrible professor. It's unfortunate that majority of the professor's who teach this course are very bad. In my class, half the students dropped before the 3rd exam, which says a ton. I guess the college won't put the money into hiring better professors. Instead they give us older professors who do not know how to teach.

If you weren't religious before, well pick a religion and start praying because this professor will have you paying for sins you committed in your past life. His voice is monotone his jokes don't hit and the people that are laughing are definitely compensating for their grades.

I am very unsatisfied with Professor Camilo. She often forgets the material, and her notes are outdated. I can't even use a graphing calculator because it's "unfair". Tests are not to be compared to the homework, and the worksheets are not helpful. She's inflexible and would rather have you come in with a high fever than miss a test.

I'm usually not a math person but like dealing with numbers. I'm very appalled. She breezed through all the lecture work. As a disabillity student, I like the baby steps to prepare for the test. No notes at all, and some of the stuff on the test was not taught. I'm sorry but I have to retake this course because of incompetence and lack of education

Worst professor at OCC. Pushes you off and says to go to tutoring, asking about the course is like pulling teeth, would rather you fail than help you. Waste of time if you need step by step explanations, very note oriented, and like actually being taught, everything covered will lead you in the wrong direction during exams. I really wish I dropped
