Not bad, but not great. I liked her class though because i like learning on my own. She sort of just drops the assignments in your lap and leaves it up to you....i guess that is probably a good thing.

I think she kicks ass. She explains everything pretty well, and doesn't mind if you call her a ****. Good combo if you ask me.
she's tough, but fair. still taking her class, but so far a good balance between being pretty laid back and pretty tough when people need a kick in the butt. does not take sh*t in any form. really knows her stuff and i feel like i'm learning a lot. very sarcastic sense of humor and easy to look at
AWESOME! I love the class. Krista makes it very fun. She is a great teacher and she is very friendly. She is knowledgeble, and she lets you know when you need to improve. P.S. She smokes. If you dont... Give her a hard time. Just like im doing now! (compliments of the White boy Samurai)
shes a good professor, and gets right to the point. she doesnt beat around the bush and will tell you exactly what she thinks. she wont sugarcoat things for you, but its a good thing because you really get a lot out of her classes.
Krista is one of the best professors. At first she seems threatening, but she eventually breaks down the student/teacher barrier. She expects a lot from her students, and you should be willing to put in even more work for a good grade. Take her and don't be afraid.
Krista's really laid back and fun. She's the type of professor who isn't afraid to befriend her students and always has really interesting assignments. If you're looking to have fun in class as well as learn things, then she's great.
i think krista's great. she's that great blend between understanding, fair, and completely no-nonsense. she also doesn't mind laughing at herself to make the class more at ease. really, REALLY knowledgeable about art and design. projects will make you think and you will definitely improve. TAKE HER!
Krista is an awesome teacher. Take her if you are willing to work hard, think on your own, and be super-creative. If you have an open mind about the projects, and an open mind about her you should fit in very well. Take her, and don't think you will be able to fool her about anything.
This was my third class with Krista. I loved her, I loved the people in my class; but I honestly don't like drawing. That is OK, because Krista makes it easy to understand, and she explains everything very clearly. Still, though, don't expect to automatically get an 'A' on everything; she is a tough grader in this class.

When a teacher is young and pretty it's easy for people to try and tear her down. People need to mind their own busines and take Krista's classes if they want to find out what a great teacher she is. I've had her for two classes and would disregard anything that slanders her name.
Krista is the BEST!!
as a second quarter student, i already have a friend and a favorite in this teacher. she's not afraid to talk about anything that is off topic butalways manages to keep the class moving at exactly the right pace. i only wish she taught upper level courses. first week is really tough, look out
i had krista for drawing 1 and color theory, and id recommend her to anybody. not only is she always in a good mood, but shes always willing to backtrack to help you understand something. she grades fairly, and will tell you WHY she graded certain things the way she did.
i suck at drawing but krista really stuck by me and tried to help me as much as she could, she really wants you to do well so as long as you do your work youll be fine
Krista is such a sweetie! She is a really fun and energetic professor who is very laid back, but is also a good teacher- a rare combination indeed. I had so much fun in color theory! If you like creative projects, she should definitely be your first choice. No painting swatches here!
She's one of the few professors I've had who will discuss your concepts with you without you having to run after her, and she understands that it's not easy for everyone to talk about their ideas so she helps you along. And she's nice and funny and makes color theory more than a class on how to paint squares.
She has very interesting ideas for projects, which are amusing most of the times. They are a little bit challenging, but you overcome the difficulties. She is also a lot of fun in class.
Took Krista for two classes so far, 2D and Drawing II. Loved both of them. She's not slack, but she is highly creative and open to letting you have fun with the work. As you can see, nothing but good ratings... Kick-ass professor, take her

A nice person but can be bitter and moody. A stickler for craftsmanship. The projects are great and exciting. Overall, I highly reccomend.
Krista is such an amazing professor! She really pushes your creative limits. She is wonderful and always keeps the positive energy at full max! 100 % take her!
krista is great. she really makes an effort to help her students and makes the class more relaxed than any other class i've had at scad. she can be moody at times, but mostly when kids are trying to slack. she really goes out of her way, but expects you to do the work. take her and you will not regret it.
one of the worse teachers i've had at scad. what kind of teacher logs into facebook while her class is going on?
i've had krista for three classes and she is great. byt far my favorite teacher here at scad. she is open to ideas and really knows what she's talking about. take her and put in the work and you won't be sorry.
i love krista. she really goes out of her way to make sure everyone understnads the stuff she covers in class. she really cares and i feel like i had the best experence i could have.
She seemed great for the first few weeks, but she picks favorites--FAST. The projects are fun and interesting, but she expects a lot and they end up being very time consuming. Unfortunately, if you're not 'buddy-buddy' with her, she'll basically rip you apart with death stares and total a lack of interest in your progress compared to others'.
i've had krista for three classes. She has always been upfront about "picking favorites". She even said in class "I like kids who work hard can take the feedback and dont make excuses". isn't that what we're here for? and i never felt like she didn't care about my progress, she just expects alot. she's great overall. i recommend highly.
Krista is a delight as a pofessor. Some may think she's hard and most who think that want an easy way to an A. I'm not paying for easy, I'm paying to learn and I do so in her class as she pushes you to explore yourself in your projects. She knows what she's talking about and her demos are insightful. Krista's positive attitude is infectious!
Absolutely delightful. I always looked forward to her class. She's very entertaining and she knows all there is to know about 3-D design. REGARDLESS OF WHAT SHE'S TEACHING, JUMP AT THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE HARBERSON.
i love Krista. She has a great attitude aboout teaching and you can tell that she cares about her students. even when she gets annoyed with people for not doing their work, you know it's beacuse she cares. by far one of the most intelliegent and insightful teachers i've ever had.
I did not have an amazing time because I did not make the cut as one of her favorites. She taught ok but nothing spectacular.
KRISTA IS AWESOME. She's funny and helpful and engaging. And nice too, as long as you're not slacking on your work. Highly recommend her for color theory.
Basically, this class is a study hall. You go to class, do your assignment, THAT'S IT. So if you show up and turn in good projects, guaranteed A. Prof Harberson is good about individual attention and explaining what she wants, but as far as learning about color, I haven't learned anything useful.
I have to disagree with the previous post. Yes, Prof. Harberson does allow for a good deal of time in class to do our projects. Since I also have a job outside of class I really appreciate that. As far as learning nothing of any use, that kid must have been daydreaming or somthing. Krista speant a good amount of time with me and even helped me see
Krista is pretty laid back and spunky. She lets you use whatever materials you are comfortable with for the projects, but don't look to learn much about materials and techniques in this class. The project guidelines are clear and you have plenty of in class time to work on them.
Love, love, love her! The best teacher to get your foundations done, period. Her projects are fun and never tedious the way most other professor's can be. And she realizes (unlike all the other foundations profs.) that students are poor, so she encourages students to use materials they can afford. There just isn't enough space to list all her pros!
As with any prof., there are good and bad qualities. The good: the projects are fun, she is extremely helpful and will teach you a lot about 3D design. The bad: she can be kinda ****y, interrupts A LOT during critique, will defend the works of students she's had in other classes to the end, even if their stuff is falling apart. She's a hit or miss

I took Harberson for 2D and Color Theory. She's a very good professor. Her projects are very interesting, but fairly specific. She is also against using photoshop for any projects, so expect to do a lot by hand. This isn't a problem in 2D but in Color Theory you make a film poster and postage stamp that photoshop would have been very helpful on.
She is really nice and pretty laid back
A very fun class with great projects, the teacher is great.
Prof. Harberson is an attractive lady and people are always going to talk about her because of that. i was her t.a. and the stories i heard about her were ridiculous. if you want to know what she's like, take her class. she's great and very knowledgeable.
She is by far the BEST professor i have had at this school. I was dreading taking this class because i hate using color and cant use it. She grades easy and based off effort and craftsmanship. The final is deff the best project.Very easy and laid back class.TAKE HER!! shes really nice and is willing to help you with personal stuff or other classes
Awesome professor with interesting projects. Your allowed to pick your own media in your projects and she gives detailed demonstrations for different medias. Not your typical Color Theory class, no insane painting paint chip projects different schemes. She really tries to engage. Grades fair based on craftsmanship, concept, and risks.
BEST, PROFESSOR, EVER!!!! Take her for all your design classes, especially if you're not a visual art major. She will find the artist in ANYONE.
Yeah, She is a very good teacher. She gives very good examples of use of mediums. Hard work in her assignments , but pretty good assignments funner than some other classes. Overall, a pretty chill, cool person.
After reading reviews of this prof. I took her class and was really diappoinred. She is really overrated. She's a buddy to students not a professional. She obviously plays favorites and can be moody and rude. Most of her assignments were just busy work and boring and there was a lot of it. I do not recommend her!!!
I really enjoyed Krista's class. She's fun and encouraging. I got work done in her class and I now actually kind of enjoy doing still lifes. You experiment with a lot of different media and do some creative projects.
Krista Is a wonderful teacher and A Good friend she Gives clear intructions. Her goal is not to give you assi She can be a bit cryptic but thats mainly so you can interpret the assignment for yourself. Tip Buy as as you go not from the list what you need will depend on the piece you choose to create. I took all three classes shes taught A+
I love Krista! Her projects are interesting and she's a fair grader. I've taken her twice and would definitely take her again.
I'd say if you want a chill, laid back class, you're looking at the right professor. But if you're looking for a professional learning environment, you're definitely looking at the wrong professor. I personally hate 3D, but her projects are interesting, so it made this class bearable, and she's merciful with grading as long as you try hard.
have taken three classes with this prof. She is awesome. I have learned so much from her demonstrations. Which Help so much in other classes. If something is unclear she will work with you one on one until your are comfortable. Takes time with her students. Very laid back and approachable! Critiques are easy and helpful! great lady!!!
She is very lenient, and there to help you. Even if you are not the best artist, she focuses more on the effort you put forth. If you don't try, you don't pass. If you try with all you have, you will do well! She will be your friend, so don't treat her wrong! Definitely would recommend her to everyone. She's real cool.
Krista is awesome. I took her 3 quarters in a row and got an A each time. She's very laid back and loves to help make your ideas better. She's not a huge fan of slackers, but if you do the assignment and actually put effort into it, its an easy A. She has great examples and there's almost no way anyway could fail.
Best color theory professor you could wish for! Gives you lots of freedom on projects, while being really clear on the goals. Understands students are broke, so she lets you use any medium you wish. While my friends taking color theory from other professors were crying, I was having a blast with Krista's class
Mrs.Harberson has to be one of the best professor's I've ever taken for my foundation studies. She's hilarious, and down to earth. She's like your friend but at the same time, still your respectable professor who is there to teach you-which she does well. She makes class fun and allows you to be as creative as you want. Definitely recommend her!
She is the best design teacher ever!!! Gives you total creative control as long as you follow the guide lines. Will help you with anything! You only have a midterm which is super easy as long as you study the vocab notes, no final except final project. You do 4 or 5 projects. Put all effort into projects you wont regret it. Really Fun Teacher.
She is an amazing teacher. She is very clear on what she wants and gives good feedback. I am not artistic, but i still managed to get an A in the class. She gives you lots of class time to work on projects. Sometimes can require time outside of class, but I learned a lot. Participation counts in critiques. I am taking her again next semester!
Krista is without a doubt there for you, if you show effort, she will be the best person you will ever meet. Krista gives great assignments that help you look at things differently and develop as an artist. She will only give you attitude if what you say or do is actually really stupid. She gives amazing life advice, and teaches an amazing class.
I took color theory with Krista & it was a really great class!! She's a truly cool person, & her music taste rocks. Every class felt productive, & she was always fair with adjusting due dates to meet the class' progress. Only downside is projects were fairly dull, but its color theory, so I expected it. She grades heavily on critique participation.
She's really there for all her students. Consider yourself lucky if you get her!
I love all the projects she made us do and gives a lot of class time to do them. Grades heavily on critique participation, and if you do your best you'll get a good grade. There are only two quizzes that are really dumb during the whole quarter. She is really funny and all of her classes are entertaining. Would definitely take her again if I can.
LOVE THIS WOMAN! She is hilarious, open and down to earth, very clear and helpful in demos and instructions. 3D is 3D; it's never going to be an "easy" class, but Krista makes it so much fun. Will force you to think creatively. Very laid back classroom environment. and her deadlines give you the perfect amount of time to complete each project.
The amount of work that you put into the class is the grade that you will get. She will take the time to help you with anything that you need help with but if she is going to put work in she expects that you are going to too.
TAKE KRISTA'S CLASS! She's incredibly talented and hilarious. I was ALWAYS excited to go to her class. She's blunt and badass. If she knows that you work hard, she'll give you a good grade. She'll teach you tricks that will come in handy for the rest of your time at SCAD and will help you save money. Honestly can't praise her enough.
The only bad thing about is that her classes fill up so quickly because everyone knows shes perfect.
I took Krista for 3D and enjoyed it for the most part. I personally don't have any interest in 3D design, but Krista helps with that. She brainstorms with you to come up with a good idea. She includes critique participation in your project grade so you have to talk. Not necessarily an "easy-A" but also not hard. Projects are very time consuming
By far one of my favorite professors at SCAD, Krista is super sweet, kind and knowledgable. You put the work in, and you get the grade you deserve. I'm in no way a 3D person and I was able to do extremely well with Krista's help and guidance. Seriously take her if you can, its worth it in more ways than one.
You'll hear from many students about how great Krista is, and I would say it's all true. She cares a lot about students and keeps the projects interesting. From what I've seen, she gives mostly low A's for projects (I assume so you don't slack off), mid A if you follow criteria closely. Only vice: she's as bored as the rest of us during critiques.
Krista is one of the greatest human beings on this planet and I encourage anyone to take her class. Class with her is fun, educational, and just generally a good time. She's one of the professors I'm proud to actually call a friend. 11/10 would take again.
I took Krista for both of my DSGN foundation classes with no regrets. She is simply the best. Her assignments are real fun. I've compared my assignments to my roommate's and I wouldn't exchange for anything. Take her!
Krista is so much fun, she is really reasonable. She is a fair grader and she assigns fun projects :)
LOVE LOVE Krista!! Everyone has to take 3D, so you must take this star of a professor. This class made me realize I was in the wrong major and I needed to be doing what I love. Thank you 3
KRISTA IS THE BOMB she has such a great teaching style and our critiques were always so helpful and enriching. Being in a major that is not at all related to a 3D design class I figured I would really struggle with creating quality projects, but her demonstrations using alternative materials were really thorough and helped a lot
She is amazing and considerate. She is aware of how costly her class can be and after the second project you choose your materials to fit your budget. She is one hilarious, caring, and all around amazing person. She is not discriminatory no matter what your beliefs (even political) and is there for you. She is a freaking badass and I love her 3.
Krista Harberson is an amazing professor. She's incredibly caring and sweet and really connects with her students. I went into 3D Design expecting to hate it and she made it into my favorite class that quarter because of her teaching style and projects. I definitely recommend taking her if you get the chance.
Krista is great. She is open, caring, & truly unique. However, I do feel like she is a little harsh with grading sometimes especially after expressing her excitement when she sees your project. You really have to participate in critique to get a good grade. She has an amazing Late Pass policy that relieves some of the stress of the quarter as well
Krista Harberson is one of the most inspirational, caring, and resourceful professors at SCAD. In and out of the classroom she goes above and beyond to help her students excel in their fields. I took her once before for design 1 and absolutely HAD to take her again for 3D. If you're nervous about taking 3D bc of your skill set definitely take her
Made me want to go to class everyday. Always had nice things to say to everyone. Made class fun for everyone. and genuinely cared about everyone in her class.
Krista is amazing! She understand that most of the people taking her class have never built anything before. She is super nice, very funny and only wants you to succeed! I learned a lot in her class and didn't feel like I was drowning in work!
She is the bestest is the whole dam world. Cares about how you're doing, makes sure you understand how to work with the material and how to spend what you need and not go overboard. Gosh-darn HILARIOUS when she tells anecdotes. You will not regret taking her
Krista is the best professor ever! She is very helpful with assignments and has a lot of extra help sessions outside of class.
I absolutely LOVE Krista!! I have had her for DSGN100 & DSGN101. Her projects are really fun and her class is very laid-back. She is very understanding, the midterm is easy, and she gives you a re-do/late pass if you aren't happy with your project! TAKE HER CLASS!
I LOVED KRISTAS CLASS. She is the BEST professor. She makes color theory so fun, her projects really make you want to work. This has been my favorite class in SCAD so far. She really helps you understand color in fun ways. She is hilarious and caring.
Krista is by far one of my favorite professors! She really cares about her students, both in and outside the class. What really made her class worth it for me was the freedom to use pretty much any medium you wanted. She really focused on making the class actually helpful for your major. If I could take her class again, I would!
Very sweet, fun, and caring teacher. Not hard as long as you do the work, and she checks in with everyone individually. She lets you use almost any medium for your projects, and the subject matter is up to you, too. Doesn't let you color anything digitally (except one non-objective project), although she does allow you to make lineart digitally.
Krista is amazing and wonderful and fantastic. Gives such good feedback on your work and understand if you're going through a hard time and will give you slack. She is kinda like a mom and a teacher at the same time. love her! Also, participate in critique because it does matter and you're graded on it.
Professor Krista is a very fun loving and easy going professor. She was my professor for design 1 and 2 and i had great experience and lots of fun in her class. She is an easy grader but at the same time strictly expects you to meet the requirements of the project. I got to learn lot of fun facts in her classes and she gives great demos of media!
Krista is great, she's like my mom here at SCAD! The only problem is the projects are annoying, and definitely a bit tedious.
Proff Harberson is a really great teacher she is very accessible and the classes feel very smooth with no tension a lot of laughs and great projects. I will be taking her for my DSGN 101 class as well
Krista is super sweet, I took her online during Spring Quarter 2020 and she just didn't do classes, we had to read everything ourselves and basically teach ourselves how to do half of the work. She's easy to get a hold of for questions and is really sweet. I don't feel like she actually taught me anything, the textbook did it for her.
Krista is really caring proffesor at SCAD, if you have any issues you can always talk to her. Shes really clear with everyone. Her projects are heavy but you just simply put effort and it all goes well. there was only a midterm exam and the rest was the ELOs and Projects.
Krista is a beautiful human & being a film major, she made 3D design feel easy & completely doable. She has a super positive and chill attitude that makes being in class really enjoyable!! Would HIGHLY recommend taking her for any class and I would def take her again. She also lays out everything ahead of time & is organized which is great.
Online class. The tutorial videos she supplied were sometimes entirely useless, and the course content was the same across the board, and was usually too vague in instructions. She was nice and responded to emails quickly, but generally uninvolved. I am not sure if it was because we just started quarantine or if she teaches the same way.
Krista is an amazing person with so much care for each and every one of her students. There is a lot of work in these classes (I took DSGN100,101,102 with her) but the respect you get and the feedback you receive is beyond worth it. She is so understanding of anything you are going through and is always there to encourage you to be a better artist.
Krista is very nice and sometimes overly enthusiastic that it can be annoying. In her feedback for students, she often uses the phrase "this is an A" which can make other students feel less than the others. Her class is primarily just work on your project rather than learning and an actual lecture. She does care for each and every student however.
I took Krista for every single design class I had to take, (100, 101, 102). She is the best professor at SCAD in my opinion. Extremely respectful and gives the best feedback and solutions to projects. Really just a great environment and I learned so much. Definitely take her class you will make a great friend.
Krista is the absolute best professor I've ever had at SCAD. I've had her for two design classes. They care about you in and out of the classroom. They give great feedback, and the projects she assigns are very interesting and she is very open to your ideas! I love her so much, I highly recommend them!
She really does care about her students. She is very funny and is pretty laid back. Krista wants to hear your ideas and wants you to pursue them in all that you do!
Krista is a very hyper and preppy professor who cares about each of her students. She'll get to know you personally through each class and is always there to help. She gives more than two weeks for each project, and she'll host in-progress critics (which can be kinda boring). Make sure to come to class on time and don't ask the same question twice.
She is such a sweet professor. Color theory was fun and she has a lot of fun projects that get your mind going. Be careful though, during critique if you say something that you feel is wrong, and she says it's fine, follow your gut. She will still take points off of something she said was fine. She's fun and I recommend if you are not confidant.
Krista is amazing. She cares so much about her students and is fun, engaging, and intelligent. I loved 3D design and it has no relation to my major. I wish I could take more classes with her because she is wonderful. As long as you communicate with her she is willing to work with you and help you out any way she can. Very down to earth too.
GAY AUNT KRISTA!!!! Love her absolute queen. Textbook not require.
Professor Harberson is an amazing professor who really cares for her students. Her projects can seem intimidating but they are not! She is there to help you through each step of the way. She gets to know you throughout the quarter and is very personable. I am going to miss her.
Krista is super caring for her students, which is nice to find in the design department. She'll really help you with your projects and is super accessible outside of class. Will say, her projects are pretty intensive as she expects a lot from you. Be prepared to drop a lot of time and potentially money on art supplies. Grades easy, though
I have had Krista before and she is just amazing. As long as you respect her she will respect you. She helps you with projects and gives excellent critiques and advice for life. She provides great projects that push your mind and talents in ways you never thought they could. She is pretty forgiving and is not that harsh of a grader. Love her!
A great professor to take for non art major kids (you know what I mean). She was very understanding of me not having any drawing skills and graded me accordingly. She will literally let you use Crayola markers all quarter for projects if you can't afford to drop a ton of money. Love her!
As a professor, Krista is awesome, probably one of the best in terms of the work we actually do for color theory. Projects are interesting but not too much, you can kind of choose your own workload based on what you do for your project. as a person, she wants very badly to be everyones buddy, and made me uncomfortable more than once
Kindest professor I have ever had. She is really nice and the best. I want her to be my mom.
Krista creates really interesting/challenging projects that teach you about color. Although she is very cheery and welcoming she will get annoyed if you do not follow her guidelines. She is very clear on what she wants and is strict when it comes to craftsmanship and attention to detail. The first 3 projects are lengthy but the last 2 are easier.
I LOVE KRISTA. She is the most caring professor I've had. She genuinely cares about every single one of her students and wants them to succeed. She gives 4 projects and each project takes about 2 weeks. She checks on you through the classes and talks you through what you're doing. As a performing arts student, she made me confident in designing.
Most caring professor I've had. They give a lot of time to work in class, which is good because the projects can be difficult. Critiques are fair and she gives you time to work on the projects afterwards for a couple days. They try to make the class fun, and they're always full of energy. Make sure to study the vocab and you'll be golden!
Had her for both 101 and 102, she's a gem of a prof. Very understanding of different skill levels and encourages everyone to do their best. Lots of time to do projects (2 weeks) and 4 projects per quarter, and she gives lots of creative freedom for each project (within her guidelines). Really sociable + actually made 3D design fun for a SEQA major
Professor Harberson is super nice, pushes you to think more about your art and the 'why' when you make a piece. She believes in her students, and is very uplifting! Their class is pretty chill, and I don't mind critique at all, as Professor Harberson gives good feedback! Stay on top of your work and you should be fine :)
KRISTA RULES. She is an absolutely amazing professor who gives honest and constructive feedback. The critiques are always in progress and she gives you plenty of time between critique and submission to improve on what was discussed. I grew and learned so much in her class and would strongly recommend her as a prof.
Professor Harberson is the nicest person you will ever meet. the classroom environment is so warm and fun. furthermore, the projects are well thought out and expectations are clearly stated. best class i have ever taken!!
Krista is the perfect blend of passionate and easygoing - amazing atmosphere, relaxed, but great feedback and she wants you to succeed. She's funny and extremely caring, communicative, and adept at making students feel comfortable and seen. She has lots of experience is very smart and personable. 100% would take her again!
An absolute icon of a woman and a professor. She writes detailed project descriptions that really tell you what you need to do, and if you follow all the guidelines in her descriptions, you'll get an A. Very understanding that DSGN 102 is a foundations class and not everyone will have experience in 3D art.
Krista is the most caring professor that I have had at SCAD but she gives out double the amount of work that other DSGN 102 classes do.
Krista Harberson is an angel in disguise of a professor. She is funny, kind, comforting, and gives amazing critiques. I had her for color theory and she always made projects fun and flexible so you could do a lot of different subjects or forms of art. I was sad when my class with her ended. She is wonderful.
Professor Krista is great!!! She is really kind and open to conversation, and she makes sure that her classes are fun, even when studying for the midterm. Her class is on the easier side in terms of content, but it is quite a bit of work depending on the project. Because of this most of her classes are work sessions. Take her class if you can!!!
KRISTA!!! My favorite design professor ever. Had to opportunity to create some projects I'm really proud of. LOVE her feedback, her attitude, her approach to classes. TAKE HER!!! So understanding and kind and pushes you to do well. Clear deadlines, criteria, and due dates. Predictable, comfortable, interesting, & enough time to complete projects.
Professor Harberson is an amazing instructor who truly cares about her students. The projects can be challenging, but she provides detailed guidelines and plenty of support. Utilizing resources like Unstuckstudy alongside the free textbook really helped me ace this class. Highly recommend if you're willing to put in the work!
Absolutely loved Professor Harberson's class! I was nervous coming into it as I had never really worked on 3D stuff, but she was very helpful and guided the class with clear instructions and constant feedback. Her assignments were challenging, but I truly think they pushed me to be a better designer. If you can, definitely take her class.
She's super sweet and passionate about what she teaches. She cracks jokes here and there and engages with her students quite frequently. Whether that's about the projects or if she wants to know what fantasy world you would want to live in. She critiques well and gives pretty good feedback. Be sure to ask questions if needed!
Prof. Harberson goes easier on students who aren't up to speed, which can be good, but I think does students a disservice. I definitely learned the material though, and she does a great job at clarify what is due and when. She calls students 'kiddo' and is overly touchy which can feel really infantilizing.
Professor Harberson's DSGN 2 class was so much fun! The pacing of the projects was consistent and felt intense at times. You are always encouraged to explore your own approach on projects and to take risks. Craftsmanship is always recognized! She will repeat the project brief every class which takes up studio time and frankly feels redundant.
Krista is easily one of my favorite professors at SCAD. She wants to connect with her students and is hilarious. Her class wasn't too rigorous, but was still engaging. Don't pre-purchase materials and textbooks, wait until she tells you exactly what to get. I
Sometimes the class felt silly. She cares a lot and likes to chat but the class can be boring. Critique is usually boring and not very relevant/valuable but the grading isn't really tough so its fine. Lots of work time in class if you use it. Sometimes criteria was confusing but class was overall easy. A fairly easy A
Krista is my favorite professor I have ever had. Her class had lots of work time, lots of information on the briefs, as well as hands on demos that were incredibly helpful. The class was easy and she made it less stressful. She is super caring and would just sit and talk with students, it felt super chill and I always looked forward to her classes.
Out of all the professors I've had, Professor Harberson is hands down the GOAT! She's super helpful, gives tons of resources for each project, grades very fairly/follows the rubric to a T, and she is overall just an amazing human being! Sometimes she does yap, but nonetheless, her attitude towards her students and her teaching methods are stellar.
Seriously one of my favorite professors of all time. I came into the class thinking I was going to have such a hard time, but it ended up being my favorite class! She's so great at helping students through any issues, explains projects super well and will go back over anything if you're confused. She always checks in one on one with everyone.
Very strict attendance policy even on the very first day (Rising Star program, bus went the long way to Herstand and everyone on that bus ended up being late. She didn't cut anyone slack). Mocked my answer to a question, either because it was incorrect or I was too quiet I'm unsure. She might've been nice, but not to me :(
