Krista Peppers is an amazing teacher. I hate Biology in High School and now I love it, thanks to her. She is very clear in lecture and her tests are fairly easy. I really enjoy her class and would STRONGLY recommend her! She's wonderful!
LOVED it. Greatest professor i've had. She has an awesome approach at teaching the material, and her lectures are quite engaging.. I would recommend her to ANYONE who enjoys learning.
Very sweet. I loved her class, because I could tell she loved the subject and teaching it. The tests aren't to difficult if you study. She is VERY helpful in her office hours. She doesn't take attendance except in lab, but go to class. Her lectures are full of what is on the test. I would take her again if I could. I totally recommend Dr. Peppers.
She is really sweet and very helpful. Her tests are not difficult and she gives easy quizzes weekly. If you take notes in class and read the sections she assigns you will do great.
Great teacher! She writes everything she says on the board and that's what is on the tests. Four tests and a final-drops one test. Gives quizzes weakly for five points(very easy). No way you could fail this class. Easy to understand and very helpful. Only attendance is for lab, which is also very easy. I definately rec. her if you want an easy A!
I don't like science, and I made low grades in my high school biology class. I made an A+ in this class just by showing up and taking notes. Bio is the hardest class at UCA, and she is the best teacher to take for it. Take notes, Study hard before the test, and you will make an A.She is very sweet and helpful.
Great teacher.. you can tell she loves her job.. very clear to understand and gives good lectures for easy notes.. she dopes your lowest test grade, but if you miss a test you cant make it up.. great class and great teacher!
GREAT TEACHER! She is very good to her students and will do everything to help. Her classes are usually pretty interesting. Just go to class and take the notes and it would be hard to fail. She is a very friendly person and she makes lab pretty enjoyable.
She is a great teacher. She is very passionate about the subject. She doesn't take attendence, but you do need to go, because all of her tests come directly from her lecture notes...which are all over the place. She has no outline, she just talks about what comes to her mind. The tests are not hard and she drops your losest test grade.
Hated science until now! Best teacher hands down! Easy test IF you come to class! If you just go to class her lectures are easy to understand and cover all of the exam questions!! For your own sake! take her! promise you will love it!
VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT BIO, I HATED SCIENCE UNTIL I GOT IN HER CLASS! SHE IS WONDERFUL! YOU HVE TO STUDY IN ORDER TO GET A GOOD GRADE ON THE TEST BUT SHE DEF LAYS THE GROUNDWORK TO DO SO! NEVER USED THE BOOK AND MADE HIGH C'S ON THE TEST AND THATS NOT INCLUDING THE LABS AND WEEKLY QUIZZES THAT ARE GIVEN. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE ARTICLES, COULD MAKE U
Amazing teacher. Seriously. Her lectures are so easy to understand and she makes the topic interesting. I've never liked biology but I like this class. The tests are pretty difficult as the year goes so make sure you study.
I absolutely ADORE Dr. Peppers! Her classes are extremely interesting; her passion for what she teaches is infectious. She's willing to help you in any way she can, even teach you HOW to study. Fair warning: her exams are BRUTAL! They're 98% from her lectures; she doesn't take attendence but if you don't go to class you will fail. LOVE HER!
I love Dr. Peppers! She is amazing! Take her class if possible
This woman is hard.
Attending lecture is a MUST take NOTES. Weekly quiz over a news article and you MUST critically think. She is no nonsense! No room for error, no extra credit and the questions on quizzes and exams are not easy. It is almost impossible to answer the questions the way she wants them answered. Helpful but HARD. Think twice before taking this class!
Dr. Peppers is a wonderful teacher. She is very passionate about the subject she teaches. I never made an A on a test but with the news quizzes we took once a week and the bio lab grad I was able to make an A fairly easily. Study the lecture notes and you'll do well. Contemplating changing my major to biology because of this class.
Dr. Peppers is a SAINT. She's so descriptive and easy to understand. You HAVE to take notes and stay awake and pay attention, but it's easy with her. She keeps you interested. VERY helpful. LOVES what she's teaching. She knows that not everyone is a biology major. DEFINITELY recommend her.
She is incredibly hard, and you have to be EXTREMELY specific.
She is a great teacher! She loves what she does and it shows. Show up for class and TAKE NOTES. She is very easy to pay attention to. She is interesting and applies what she teaches to the real world. She is a very sweet lady and easy to talk to. She is always willing to help if you ask. Her class isn't easy. Study hard for tests. I recommend her!
Do not take her! hardest teacher ever! unwilling to help too! tests are almost impossible! very unclear on what to study for the test. the whole class is lecture and you take 6-8 pages of notes every day!
STUDY, STUDY, STUDY and even that won't be enough. Test are from the 8-10 pages of notes you take in each class. Weekly quiz over a news article, READ & THINK critically. She's nice & can be helpful but you must be able to "recite" the information back on short answers & the multiple choice are TRICKY. I studied VERY hard, think twice before taking!
She is a nice lady she is very passionate about what she does and it shows! You will never really use the book its like 4 questions out of the whole test from the book so it's really no point in reading it.! Test are over notes that she makes up and write on the board.! The test are very very very hard.! If you do not put exactly what she wants you to put on open response question you will never get full credit.! Multiple choice are tricky as well.! Think twice about this class.!
She's a good teacher for biology in general since it's such a hard subject. Her tests are impossible to get good grades on. I would study for at least 6 hours for each exam and havent made anything higher than a C. She's very specific when it comes to answering test questions.
Dr. Peppers is such a nice lady. She made this class fun! The only problem was her exams, all open response and difficult. It took 2 hours to answer 13 questions. If u don't answer the exact way she wants, u lose points. Her final was comprehensive, which was unfair considering its open response and how much material it was. Its asking too much.
One of the best professors at UCA. Her tests do take some getting used to. You MUST study your notes and be prepared to answer an open response question over any of it. The multiple choice questions make you apply the information, not just you to recite the notes. Drops a test, only counts 10/16 quizzes. Small point deductions add up. Study!
Very smart professor. She doesn't take attendance, but tests come straight from notes and reading assignments. It's hard to ace the tests so STUDY hard.
Dr. Peppers is by far the best teacher I've had, ever! Incredible communication ability, extremely nice, very thorough, understanding, and INTELLIGENT! She loves the subject and that is reflected in student grades. I literally have nothing bad to say about this class, even though I took the 5 week intense summer course. Loved it!
Dr. Peppers is one of the best teachers/professors I have had for Biology. She is definitely not easy especially for a gen. education biology course. But if you are interested in Biology and need this class, I recommend you take it. Attendance is MANDATORY to pass the class, her tests are 90% her notes.
She is a phenomenal professor, you can clearly see that she is passionate about the subject. Some students say her exams are difficult, although they are almost strictly based on the notes. I highly recommend taking her class.
amazing woman, great teacher. attendance is not mandatory but suggested. if you go to the class then you cannot fail. she is extremely helpful and practically walks you through the course.
Mrs. Peppers is a great teacher. She is very clear to understand, and she draws a lot on the board. The tests are a little tough but if you do the reading and take good notes in class, then the tests aren't that bad. I would recommend her to anyone!
SO HARD. study study study then study MORE. She's nice and willing to help. very passionate about it. But alot to take in. Notes are on the board. Lots of lecture. She does not use the book in class, but some of the test questions are from the book but most are from her lectures. STUDY.
Dr. Peppers is a great teacher. I learned so much. She's so passionate about Biology. For a Bio class it's not that bad. She writes everything you need to know on the board, so copy everything down. She also takes some questions from the book, so you have to read, but study the notes like scripture. YOU MUST STUDY AND BE AT CLASS TO DO WELL.
Dr. Peppers was a great professor! I had an A in the class up until the end and that was because of my own problems. Labs are mandatory 100% and are not hard, they brought up many of my friends grades I dont recommend skipping Wednesday because she gives article quizes then, but again they help you, she also drops the lowest test score and 2 quizes
If you have to take bio core concepts, take Peppers. She loves the subject of biology and does a great job teaching it. You have weekly quizess that are easy you make 100s on if you take the time to read the articles. Lab is beyond easy. Her tests are tough but definitely passable if you study.
Dr. Peppers (Yes thats fun to say) is a very intelligent, very friendly teacher. She will remember your name out of about 60 students and who knows how many classes by the second week. She teaches off the top of her head because she knows this stuff. She does a good job of explaining things and encourages questions. TONS of notes though :/
Dr. Peppers is an amazingly thorough and understandable professor. She writes the notes from the lectures with us, and most of the test questions were directly from the notes, so you need to attend class for the notes, and to pass. The weekly news quizzes will save your grade if you make Bs or Cs on the tests.
Gen. Bio. with Peppers is not a hard class to pass if you just DO the work. Just study for your tests & quizzes and GO TO LAB! Lab is easy so don't be dumb & lose the points just because your lazy. And by studying I mean an hour or 2 for like 2 nights before the exam & you'll be fine. She is a great lecturer so if you pay attention you'll get an A!
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. YES SHE KNOWS BIOLOGY AND SHE LOVES TO TEACH IT BUT SHE IS NOT EASY AND NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY YOU WONT PASS THOSE EXAMS. I STUDIED HARD AND I WENT TO CLASS FAITHFULLY; I WENT TO HER OFFICE HOURS AND ALL BUT I DIDNT PASS HER EXAM. SHE IS HARD YALL. I ONLY PASSED ONE EXAM WITH a "D". IM TAKING BIOLOGY IN THE SUMMER. (A+)
I loved Dr. Peppers. She gives you everything you need for the tests in her lectures. Take all of the notes she writes on the board. Study the notes for the tests not the book. There are weekly quizzes over science news articles. She counts 10 of the 13 of them in your final grade. Lab is super easy to get a good grade in.
this class is not hard to pass. But, it is hard to make an A in. I ended up with an A only because I studied my butt off
Dr. Peppers is the best teacher alive! She keeps everything very interesting and she always allows time for open discussion. She makes all material clear and easy to understand. Labs are very fun and interesting. I would take her again and again. Requires a lot of time with your notes though.
If you value science, you will love this professor. She is interesting, knowledgeable, down to earth, and helpful. After taking her class I am considering adding a biology minor to my degree. Excellent professor. You MUST study for this class and read for the quizzes, but the knowledge you obtain will be worth it.
Peppers was awesome! I have never enjoyed biology and she made this course interesting. She is very kind and would answer any questions that you have. She is the best professor I have ever had! I would definitely recommend her any day. All of her tests come straight from her lecture notes. You will not regret taking Dr. Peppers!
HARD AS HELL
LOVE HER
Dr Peppers is the most amazing biology professor I have ever had. Before taking this course I had no interest in biology, but now I am sad the course is only a semester. She goes above and beyond to help students who want to succeed. I highly recommend her.
She is really clear in the syllabus about what she wants. She is very willing to schedule appointments to talk with you about any questions you have. She doesn't give study guides, but her lectures are amazing.
She is very passionate about what she does. She is good but extremely tough. I would not suggest taking her if you are looking for an easy A.
Everyone says that Peppers is really hard, but I didn't think so. I hated science and especially Biology in high school until I took her! She's the reason I changed to a BS from a BA. It's lectures everyday but she keeps your attention. She also drops an exam at the end of the semester so you can afford to have a slip-up test. Would take her again.
Very tough grader and very hard test. Don't take this class if you don't plan on showing up for lecture or labs. She asks very specific questions on the test. She doesn't give extra credit opportunities or study guides.
She's a really great teacher, her lectures make sense and everything you need to take note of she'll write on the board. I'm not a biology major but I still got really interested. Her tests are tough but if you work for it you'll do fine. Study ahead.
Dr. Peppers is very passionate about what she teaches. She wants you to do well but you have to make the effort too. Her tests are tough so you need to devote your time to studying for them. Take notes and not what she just writes down on the board!! Write what she says. I liked her a lot though. She is a very good teacher.
Dr. Peppers does not take attendance, however it helps to be in class. Her tests only cover what was covered in class; You aren't expected to self-teach. Her grading criteria is very clear and fair. She drops your lowest test grade and only takes your highest 10 quiz scores. The quizzes are very easy, on an article that is provided to you each week
Dr. Peppers is a good enough teacher, but her class is not easy. You have to take good notes, and study you butt off for the tests. Also, there are weekly quizzes on news articles related to biology. Attendance is a must in this class if you want to pass. Especially since the final is over all your notes...
Amazing professor! I took her two years ago and can honestly say she is one of the best and I wish I could take her again! classes are all lecture make sure to write everything she writes on the board. she is a tough grader, I'm usually an A student but I am definitely proud of my B! don't skip class bc everything she says will be on the test
She is the best teacher I have had yet. If you study for tests, you will make good grades. She has amazing lectures and is super helpful.
She is a great professor and I would definitely recommend her if you need the class, I love biology and understood everything clearly! but her test ARE very TRICKY so be prepared!!
Dr. Peppers is the best professor I had this semester. She truly cares about the subject. As long as you show up for lectures, and review those notes, you'll be fine. I didn't use the book all semester. Dr. Peppers is concise, clear, and there for you. Any problems I had with this course was the easiness of the material.
the pop quizzes are based on readings which she gives you a week to read. also she gets close students in lab and really gets to know her students and wants them to pass. she also makes it easy to pass. but her exams you really need to read in between to pass.
If you're taking BIO 1400, get Peppers. It's not an easy A, but it was way easier than I was expecting (and science is not my best subject). Show up, take notes, and you'll pass (maybe with a B, but you'll pass). Also Peppers is just a cool person. She makes you enjoy coming to class.
she is a great person but a hard teacher. she talks too fast and includes every single thing in the tests.
She was pretty reasonable, but kind of a stickler at times. I'd suggest getting the textbook, I found it pretty useful.
Dr. Peppers was an incredible Professor. She ALWAYS had an answer to ANY question in the universe. The struggle came because there was just an overload of information. Don't get the book. Test are based off her notes. I'm dead serious. She is 100% a fair grader. If you take EVERY NOTE, you will pass. Definitely a grade you earn.
Dr. Peppers was one of my favorite professors! Pay attention, take notes (ALL that she writes on the board AND what she says) , go to lab, do your pre-lab, and take your tests. If you aren't good at Bio tests, you can still make it by on your other grades. Weekly quizzes are grade savers & tons of easy points just read the article a couple times!
Must read the book on top of taking great lecture notes. So many questions on the test come straight from the book, but she just suggests reading to supplement the lectures. She has a lot of students, so she didn't seem too concerned with how students do in the class, just doing her job.
Dr. Peppers has been my favorite professor in all of college! Her tests are 100% from her own words in lecture and if you come to class, write down everything she writes down, and study your notes, you can get an easy A. She doesn't try to trick you on tests which is very refreshing. She's also very respectful/helpful with questions!
Tests are straight from lecture. She writes everything on the board that you need to know. I made flash cards straight from my notes and aced every test. Loved the class, would definitely take her again.
Dr. Peppers is a great teacher, and she really knows her stuff, however, I took this class because it is part of the core at UCA, and I am not a big fan of biology, so I didn't do as well as would have wanted to. You do not need the textbook at all, unless you just like to follow along and have extra study help. You do,however, need the lab book.
Dr. Peppers is passionate about Biology and wants to help her students. She gives lots of reminders and is very helpful by answering questions after class. She takes into account that the class is large and doesn't let kids fall through the cracks. VERY ORGANIZED. I love that. And I really like that out of 100 plus students she learned my name.
I really enjoyed having Dr. Peppers as a professor for Bio1400. She was very clear in her lectures, easy to follow, and really cares about your learning. There was also a lab portion to this class that wasn't taught by her, but it was pretty straight forward as well as long as you were present.
The tests are straight out of the notes, you have all the answers. I never took longer than 20 minutes for an exam. The labs are boring, but easy points. Do not skip, she tells you everything you need to know, but you have to be there to know it. Overall, a great professor. I really enjoyed lectures and it was an easy A.
She is an incredible teacher. She extremely knowledgable of what she teaches. Labs are fun and boost your grade, but do not skip lab and always do your pre lab. All she gives is lectures in class; write down everything she writes. You will need to study a lot in advance because it's lot, but not impossible. She really makes the class interesting.
She tells you that most people students receive an F on the first exam. I got an F, but I climbed the ladder and eventually received an A on her exam. Lecture notes are the holy grail to the test, but she does throw a couple of textbook questions so skim the book at the library. Not enough questions to purchase it
Going into this class I wasn't sure what I got myself into. People said Dr. Peppers is so rude but that was not my case. She is so nice and helpful and a great professor. The tests are HARD and you have to know a lot of things so that was hard for me but Dr. Peppers is a great professor!
The material covered in this course is just short of what you shouldve learned in junior high. She gives amazing lectures and takes time to explain herself if youre confused. The tests are moderately easy if you study and DO THE READING ON THE SYLLABUS. Multiple test questions come from the reading.
Being on the first professors I encountered my freshman year I was quite nervous for how the class would go. Peppers turned out to be an amazing speaker and really helps you know what you need to know. My advice for all up and coming freshman or anyone who needs to take biology 1400, take it with Peppers!
Her lectures are extremely easy to follow. If you learn well through lecture you will do well in this class. Attendance is not required, but if you miss, good luck on your test. Super friendly and genuinely helps if you are confused on something.
I really enjoyed Dr. Peppers class! She made biology very interesting. If you attend class and read over your notes after each class, you will be fine! The only things that are graded are exams and labs, so lab attendance is very important! Overall, I loved this class!
Her lectures are amazing. If you come to class and take good notes (AND STUDY THEM) you will pass easily.
She doesn't take roll, but you should probably go so you can actually get the material for the exam. If you don't study then you'll probably do bad on the exams (she drops the lowest one) and her lectures are very good! There is light reading broken up by subject where at least 2 questions will come from for every exam. Attending lab is important!
She gives 5 tests, including the final, and drops your lowest test grade. Her tests are hard, and she has 2 questions on each test from the textbook. Her tests are based completely on the notes you take in class. While attendance is not mandatory, if you do not show up for class, you will struggle. If you hate science, you will be bored in lecture.
Do whatever you have to do to take her class! She is a real gem. If you take notes of at least everything she writes on the board and study them really well, you will pass. Always show up to lab, because lab and tests are basically your whole grade. Reading the book is not a huge deal (only two questions per test are from the book). She is great!
I loved this class and Professor Peppers. She truly cares about her students and how well they do in her class. I looked forward to going to this class because she made it so interesting to learn about. She loved biology and will take as much time on a subject that is needed for everyone to understand it.
Okay so Dr. Peppers is an amazing professor. Her love for biology is what makes this class so enjoyable. GO TO LAB. If you go to lab every week and do good then it can seriously raise you from a D or a C or B. Her test are hard because the only way to study is to read your notes and memorize them. Overall she is a great professor and loves bio.
Shes was one of my favorite professors! I would totally take her again. You´ll be bored if you do not like science, but she makes it interesting.
Dr. Peppers, what an awesome name, was the best teacher Ive ever had. Her lectures and labs were always interesting. If you have questions she is always open to answering them and is super helpful when you need it. Taking notes in her class is extremely important because there is no homework, just lectures, exams, and labs.
Wonderful professor. Great for freshman. Lab attendance is very important. She is so friendly and helpful. Reached out to me multiple times. If you have a disability/anxiety/depression she will work with you. Gives so much help and opportunity to succeed. Attendance not mandatory but you really need to go if you want good grades on the tests.
For someone who doesnt necessarily enjoy biology, Peppers made it very interesting! She is very explanatory and always happy to help you succeed. Four multiple choice tests and a final. She drops your lowest grade. I learned a lot but it is so important to study your notes! Not a lot of reading.
Her tests are directly from her lectures so if you go to class and study, youll do great. I really enjoyed her and learned so much.
One of the best professors I've had so far! She even wrote me a recommendation letter the next semester. You can tell she's passionate about what she teaches and that makes all the difference. You're only graded on four tests and the labs though so don't slack off! As long as you actually go to class and listen during lecture, you'll be fine.
The majority of my class were frat boys so I'm not going to tell you that everyone was engaged but I could listen to her lectures all day. She has such a way at explaining such intensive concepts in such a simple way. She is so knowledgeable and always answers peoples questions without making them feel stupid. TAKE HER AND DON'T MISS.
AMAZING lectures, you can feel her passion for her work through her words and the way she energetically writes on the bored. She never slows down unless it's for a student's question, however it feels planned due to how well she flowed. You definitely have to work for this A, in doing so you genuinely learn and love it while doing so. Satisfying.
She's AMAZING! Her lectures are fun to listen to and you can tell she loves what she does. It was an easy A for me. I never opened the textbook just show up to class. Labs are easy so just go. If I was a bio major I would love to take her again. One of my favorite profs.
Dr Peppers gives great lectures but typically talks very fast and it can be hard to keep up. It may seem overwhelming at first but if you put in the work you will receive better grades.
You can tell Dr. Peppers cares about teaching! She gives it her all in class but goes super fast. You have to study your notes or you won't pass her exams. There are some reading questions on the exams, but maybe one or two. Go to class.
DO YOUR READING! Her exams are kind of tough, some more than others, but if you try your best on the labs and show up to all of them you can pass this class. Do not skip because her notes are amazing and she makes questions based off the slides. Do your reading, the practice tests in the book, and show up. It's hard, but you can manage.
Dr Peppers is a very caring teacher that will help you, if you are willing to do the work. Yes, her class is difficult, but I would say that it's worth it. She clearly has a heart for what she teaches and I respect that. If you want a professor that will work with you when you're struggling, she's the professor that you should take.
ALWAYS come to class. ALL of the content you go over in her class is important and WILL be on the tests. She's really approachable. If you have questions, she will do her best to answer them. Her class isn't hard. No homework. Your grades come from your tests. As long as you write good notes and study them (read the textbook), you will pass.
Peppers is a very caring teacher who wants you do to do good. Her class is only exams and labs and exam questions come directly from class notes. Her tests are hard, but going to class and taking good notes will help a lot. She is always willing to help you with anything and is very passionate about the subjects.
Science isn't my strongest subject I struggled in this class. The professor jumps around the book so it felt pointless to use it. Also, I never managed to good on an exam despite studying the lecture notes that made up the exam. I've heard many good things about this professor but haven't had the best experience.
Dr. Peppers is AMAZING. I would not recommend taking any other prof if you have the option to take Peppers. Tests are straight from lecture and lecture is actually really interesting. Labs are super easy just show up. She made me love biology so much that I'm taking her for microbiology in the summer. 11/10 she is the best!! Take her!!!
Very nice and passionate about what she teaches. I'm not very good at science but I did my work and earned a B. Had to study pretty hard for the tests but overall the class was not bad. GO TO LAB. EVERY SINGLE ONE.
I liked Dr. Peppers because she was very clear with her instructions and lectures. Yes, you do have to study for the tests but everything on the tests is from her lectures. I also appreciated when she sent emails to remind us of things. Very sweet. It's easy if you watch the lectures and read like you're supposed to
Took this class during pandemic. Every lecture was online. Had a few labs during the semester. Will remind and email you OVER AND OVER to watch videos and take notes on them.
She is probably a nice person outside of class, but in class she is condescending (in her emails she says things including shaming for not doing the assignments yet), leaves rude notes on homework questioning your intelligence, has 2 homework, 2 lab assignments a week along with 9+ lecture videos and she doesn't tell you what to write down. no go!!
Tough, mean grader. Will literally insult you in her grades. Dismissive when you ask her a question. Rude overall. Not a fan.
Dr. Peppers makes class a little too complicated and frustrating, 2 homework assignments and 2 labs a week on top of tons of lecture videos that you need to watch leaving little time to work on the actual assignments. Even after turning the assignments in the comments she leaves are unnecessarily critical and mean Take this class with someone else!
Dr. Peppers is one of my all-time favorite professors. She is very passionate about her work, and that comes out during her lectures. She makes Biology very easy to understand and fun at times! I wish she taught the upper level Biology courses. Lectures are a must if you want to pass, a lot of her test questions were from them.
I took Dr. Peppers because she was rated high on rate my professor. Take someone else. While the class is organized, you know what you need to do to pass that is really the only thing I liked about it. She also comes across as very condescending during lectures. However, she will answer your questions if you have any.
She is a nice woman and is passionate about what she teaches. She makes lectures easy to follow and understand. Her tests are all multiple choice and have only a couple questions over the reading. Make sure to watch the lecture videos and take detailed notes. She sends emails about upcoming tests and drops the lowest test grade, final not included
Taking Dr. Peppers was the hardest thing I have had to do. Her exams are hard and complicated and she does not give clear direction on what to study and when you ask her what to study she just says "take detailed lecture notes and study those" and that's it. I am an A student and because of her class I almost failed and lost my scholarship!
Dr. Peppers is one of my favorite professors ever. Her lectures and labs are always engaging and interesting. She also reminds you multiple times of important due dates. If you have the chance to take Dr. Peppers, she is awesome!
I took Dr. Peppers for Microbiology in Summer Session 2. She did a phenomenal job of pacing the class. We were given a break during lectures for about 15 minutes halfway through. She was always happy to questions. Go to class to take notes and do not miss labs. Lab is easy points! Exams are a mix of MC and open response and you get to drop one.
I LOVED prof. peppers! Her lectures were interesting but very information heavy (I did a summer course so it is to be expected). She let me take the final early because of a scheduling conflict and she is very helpful if you have problems!
Such a wonderful and insightful professor who speaks with intelligence, you can very clearly see she loves what she teaches. She made a 50min lecture feel like 15mins. There isn't homework, but if you don't attend lectures to take notes, you will probably not do well on the tests so it is very important to go and take detailed notes.
Her lectures are very interesting and easy to follow. She lets you drop your lowest test grade after all of them are taken and it helps so much. The labs are not graded hard, and are really good grade boosters. Just be ready to study notes, the tests she makes are very similar to her lectures so if you take good notes and study this class is easy.
Dr. Pepper's lectures are so enjoyable and I always learned so much from them. I was scared of Bio before I took her, but her class changed that. Dr. Peppers shows so much respect from her students and it's very obvious that she cares about her job. There is a lot of information in lecture, but take good notes and you will be fine. Labs are fun too
Dr. Peppers was the first teacher who made me finally understand biology. I loved her lectures. She made it so easy to understand and not boring at all. She is known as the best bio teacher here so take her for your science credit!!!
Peppers is great I 100% recommend! She tells you exactly how she likes things and is very straight forward. She explains things very well but you will need to take good notes as she does not put them on blackboard. She is very nice and learns everyones names! Always has a smile and makes you feel welcome.
She's great!
Dr. Peppers was such an amazing professor. She is very good at giving examples that are easy to relate to so that you can understand concepts better. As long as you take notes, you will do just fine on exams. Most of the information for the exams comes directly from the lecture, so if you don't take notes, it may seem difficult.
Professor Peppers tries to be incredibly clear with her material and helping students understand. She sometimes indicates that she'll be writing a test question about a specific topic. I found this class easy to pass even with in-person tests and labs. If you take good notes and have people who will give you notes for absences, you're good!
I would 100% take Dr. Peppers again! She is extremely helpful when it comes to content, and will go out of her way to make sure you understand the concepts. Make sure to come to class, as she uses some examples given in class on the exams. Very kind and understanding woman!
Dr. Peppers is nice, enthusiastic, and helpful. She tries to make lectures interesting and formats her slideshows in a way that's easy to take notes from. She's not my favorite professor, and I wouldn't take a second class with her, but if I had to take this class again, I would ABSOLUTELY take her.
Dr.Peppers was super nice and this class was very doable. Short reading assignments and sheets for speakers that come to the class. No paper assignment, but we have 2 service learning projects at elementary schools. This was a great course, especially for the summer, highly recommend!
Dr. Peppers creates engaging lectures and is genuinely interested in helping students succeed. Though the content is dense, using Unstuckstudy and attending class makes this course manageable. She's an excellent biology professor.
Krista Peppers was a great lecture teacher but in my opinion, she made it very clear if she liked you or not. On my labs, I was never given 100%. I was always counted off by .5 . This was super frustrating considering the fact that I put something very similar to the person who sat beside me and they got 100%. I hated this class.
Dr. Peppers was by far the best professor I had at UCA. I genuinely was excited for class and lab every day. She connects biology to real-world current events to make it interesting for everyone. Truly such a wonderful experience! I took her over a year ago and still think often about how much I miss her class.
I got a D but only cause I took it in the summer and I only had 1 month to learn every single thing. But she was amazing and strict but not in a horrible way.
The professor was amazing! Her lectures were informative, and she explained everything clearly. The labs were fun and easy to follow. I absolutely loved her teaching style!
Dr. Peppers is one of the best professors I have had so far! Attendance is not required in lectures, but attendance is highly recommended since she does not post slideshows. Her exams are straight from notes and are all multiple choice. If you are not a science person, she makes biology extremely easy to understand. I excelled in this class!
I took Peppers Bio1400 class. when you attend class and take notes you will be able to pass the tests as long as you know your study needs. I had a TA for lab so I cannot speak on her in labs. However any time I had a question or need she would respond to emails quickly
I took this class my freshman year. Dr. Peppers had 93 students in multiple classes that semester and knew every ones names. I am not a science person but she made everything so understandable and I still remember things and I am going into my junior year.
The class has very few assignments, which come only from the lab, and the rest of your grade is based on the exams you take. I had 5 exams in whole. It is important to show up, she does not supply the information given in class anywhere other than in class, if you miss, get the notes from someone. You will not pass if you do not study or attend.
