Krista is the best! The way she teaches is fun she talks about the most random things its funny! I would recomend her. She is so funny. The tests are a little hard but they are dept. I'm not a good test takerandi was getting a low c and did the extra credit and ended up with a 86 so sheis awesome!

Miss Maple (Nickname) is the best. She rocks, and knows her stuff. I really liked the class, got an A, and wish I could do it again. Highly recommended!

She was awesome! Great sense of humor and really easy lectures and quizzes... tons of E.C. Tests are difficult to some degree but not bad at allllll... I recommend her completely!!!

Loved this class. Don't thinks rocks are fun but this teacher was. She's funny & i am sorry i didn't write down all her crazy quotes now. If you take notes , do labs, and come to class then her tests are easy. She does a few quizzes but you get credit just for doing them. She calls them attendance points. Plus she is easier when the bears win!

I took this class this summer, Krista is a awesome teacher and an even better person. She is nice, cool and very approachable. The passion she has for the subject, her job and Earth is very admirable! She is cute and makes the material as enjoyable as possible. She is also generous enough to offer 40 pts ext credit. She is a very cool teacher. Gives a lot of extra credit and as long as you do that, show up to class and pay attention you are guarenteed a good grade although her notes are somewhat vague and thats all her tests are based upon. Overall I recommend her!

Krista is a great teacher, I'm just not that good at the math aspects of Earth Science, so I doubt I'm gonna do well. Can't read a map to save my life, although she did explain how to. But overall, she's good, and offers extra credit.

The outlines and study guides help a lot on the tests. She offers a lot of extra credit, use it to make sure you don't have to worry about scoring high on tests. Highly recommended her!

Mrs. Syrup made the class really fun, she offered tons of extra credit that could boost your grade up a whole letter grade. She explained the concepts really clear, and understands that science is not for everyone. Test of course are a bit difficult because there is so much info that was covered.

She is kinda dorky, but fun. Exams are pretty hard, and she won't curve them. I didnt buy the text book, only the lab book. text book wasnt really necessary. Overall pretty good teacher, but she talks about geology a lot & rambles on sometimes. Ohh and booze cruises ha.

She was great I had her for a half online half earth science class. Online classes are usually harder but honestly it was the only A in a science class i've every gotten. she gives lots of extra credit and is funny in her own way. I would recommend taking her for a science class since those classes usually suck.

She is an amazing teacher...period! Sure science isnt the easiest topic, but she really takes the time to elaborate and make sure you understand the material. She sets s great mood for the class and never gets frusturated if we dont understand the work. She is also very funny and nice!

How do I put this....she was fine and all...but theres simply no way around wanting to shoot yourself in the head after four1/2 straight hours of listening to her babble about rocks...i never want to hear or see another rock again...ever.

Recommend taking this class in the summer.Even though it is long hours it is well worth it, plus you usually get out early.Went on some cool fieldtrips to get out of the classroom too. A lot of info is on the tests so STUDY! Attendance is a must to get easy lab points, etc. Great sense of humor and makes learning fun! Definitely take this class!

First of all, if you don't like hearing about rocks, then don't take Geology. :P That being said, I highly recommend the hybrid class. The labs are interesting and the time passes quickly, and though the independent study isn't easy, it's more relaxing and there are no boring lectures to sit through.

Miss Syrup is enthusiastic, fun ,and easy-going. She makes rocks interesting to say the least. She truly cares about her students and is passionate about geology. I always looked forward to her class as she is such an outgoing and knowledgeable teacher.

I took the online class and only had to show up on days we had a lab. Ms. Syrup was a good teacher but sometimes she would leave during the lab and wasn't available if you had a question. The tests were kinda hard but as long as you do the homework and discussion board postings you can still get an A or B.

I took the hybrid Introduction to Earth Science in the summer and it flew by! She made going to class really fun. She's funny but a lot of my class didn't seem to have a sense of humor, but i'd always laugh. Her tests can be a bit hard but you need to read/skim the book and use the study guides gives. She gives extra credit if you go to a museum!

My favorite teacher yet. Doesn't make the class easy or anything, but paying attention and doing homework makes it very passable. Jokes around often and answers questions clearly. A lot of fun.

Wow! Ms. Syrup was a great teacher! She was very helpful and made class very fun! This was my last class before I graduated and I'm so happy I was able to have such an awesome teacher that enjoys her work and connects with the students. She helped with any questions, and also made it challenging and used all if the materials needed for the course.

Well, tomorrow is my last day of class, and I must say I'm a little disappointed! Krista is an awesome teacher who's extremely passionate about science, and is very well-educated. This is a teacher that truly loves teaching, which is sometimes rare. The course offers difficult material, but if you study or ask for help, you're set. Fun class.

enthusiastic teacher thats cheesy at times. But you need a cheesy science professor. very nice, very understanding. I was pregnant during her class but she was very understanding to my situation. She said she cared about attendance but never really did. Tests are hard but if you do the work you will still manage with an A. I reccomend her. :)

I took her last summer and it was great! She is funny, helpful, and there for you. TAKE HER CLASS, YOU WON'T REGRET IT. Seriously. Book is rentable at the library but you'll need the workbook to turn in sheets. Lots of group activities so pick a good table to sit at on the first day. We took field trips and you HAVE to keep up with hw on blackboard

She's a great teacher and if you're bad at science like I am it will benefit you greatly to take her class because of all the extra credit she gives.

I took her hybrid class in the summer. Best decision ever. Final was not cumulative! Work was online - DBs and quizzes She's very nice and passionate about her job- I would have enjoyed her more is science was my thing. She also is very easy going with the grading system. If you have an 89 she bumps you to an A. Overall she's a very nice teacher.

She is a great teacher! The class is not the easiest but she is very easy to communicate with and very helpful. The lectures were very good and you can tell she absolutely loves the subject. If you do the work, and communicate with her you will do well. Also she offers TONS of extra credit opportunities.

Ms. S was hilarious. I hate science but she made it worthwhile. She is very enthusiastic for the subject and extremely knowledgeable. One of the best teachers at Moraine Valley Hands Down. Tests are long but she gives a lot of bonus point opportunities so as long as you show up to class you will pass.

Very nice and gets into it. Rarely gives homework, and the tests are pretty rough. Take this class if you need to get a physical science out of the way!

Best Professor I have ever encounter in the campus, she is full of energy and knowledge, I would not mind re-taking her Geology course. It was fun and entertaining, she is very understanding and of course you have to participate and do the work in order to receive an A.

I can't believe ANYONE would rate this professor anything less than a 5, professor Syrup was one of the best professors I've had at Moraine. She's extremely helpful, and she's very passionate at what she does. Professor Syrup also has a world of knowledge and is always willing to share that with her students. I would definitely recommend this class

BEST TEACHER EVER! I honestly love her. I took her 8 week summer class on Earth Science and wish i took the 16 week class just so i could listen to her lectures more in depth. She definitely made it very easy to understand the material and very fun to learn! I recommend her to everyone! Only summer class i was ever excited to get up for.

She is a good professor. I seriously barely studied for her tests and got an A. You need to show up to class to take notes and to get all the lab points. Lab points are easy points to keep your grade. Honestly, the notes and worksheets that she hands out do not really help on the tests. I would probably take her again.

Krista is really passionate about her work. She puts real life scenarios into perspective and makes you remember certain topics discussed in lecture. She's very funny. She's a great teacher, if you participate and pay attention, you should get an A! She's not too tough on her students, she wants to help us all pass.

Krista was the most energetic teacher ever. She made learning Earth Science fun. She treats everyone like a mature adult and makes sure we all get our "money's worth." Lots of labs & quizzes BUT the more points, the better grade you get. Online timed quizzes (but again-more pointsbetter grade) She was awesome-TAKE HER!!! You'll be happy you!

Makes the class fun, offers a lot of extra credit and lots of field trips. Explains the material and goes over it many times. The exams are easy and there is not much homework. I would very so take this professor again. Also I did not need to purchase the textbook.

This teacher honestly made my first semester of college easier. Although she cracks jokes, she still taught us a lot each class & got things done. The homework flow was okay & we got to go on several field trips with her class. The tests were a bit difficult, but she held review days for us and answered questions. Oh, & did I mention extra credit?

Took Weather class as hybrid. The tests were very hard. She still was an awesome professor. She's very funny. Only met one day a week for a lab. The labs are mostly math FYI. I would take her again no doubt. She offers extra credit as well, up to 40 points so take advantage of that. Overall, she is a good professor who loves her job.

Took Syrup twice, both hybrid. This summer class only met on Wednesday's and the rest online. Ms. Syrup has been one of the best professors I've had. She is funny but cares about you. She offers extra credit. I am going to miss not going to her classes anymore. Take her for both physical and life science classes like I did! You won't regret it! :)

This summer class was great! Krista took us to a waste water treatment plant and Brookfield zoo for lectures. She clearly explained the material and made the 3 hours fly by. Plus we only met on Wednesdays because the class was hybrid. Take Krista for any class she offers. She also offers extra credit which helps a ton. I recommend her 100%!

She is a wonderful professor! Funny, kind, overall a good class. I couldnt say enough good things about her. However she is not accessible outside of class. Often doesnt respond to emails or show up for office hours. Tests are hard but she does let you use 1 page of notes. You will have to work and study to do well.

Chillest teacher ever. She is so funny she builds nice relationships with her students and makes her class feel like a family. There are even FIELD TRIPS. The work/quizzes and some tests are online. She is very proud to be a geology professor so she will talk on and on about the Earth. Lectures might feel long but I swear she is the CHILLEST Prof.

She is not your average teacher, she tends to go off topic a bit but she gets what she needs to get done. she gives breaks for her classes, but sometimes lets her classes out early as well.

I hate science, so when I took Krista, I was expecting nothing but hard work. Krista was the exact opposite, making the class fun and worth the money. She gave work that made sense and was very honest about my progress in the class. I actually enjoyed science because of her. I wouldn't take anyone else except her. Make sure to take her if you can!!

This class isn't easy but Ms. Syrup helped us every day. The labs are hard but she explains them to us when we need help. I don't like science but she made the class more interesting. I will be taking her natural science class in the future. She is the bomb! Funny and passionate about what she teaches. The true definition of a professor!

GEL is not an easy class, but Ms. S. was very helpful. With the campus closing due to COVID, she still remained accessible . There was more work added because it switched to being online. Was not hard if you stayed organized and put in effort. I had a great experience with Ms. S. and I will be taking her again for my other science requirement.

Science is not my thing, so walking into Krista's class was a relief. Her exams are harder but she helps you prepare for them. I hate that we had to switch to online with coronavirus because I really enjoyed going to her class. I got a C in biology but an A in here because she helps you as much as possible. I would take her again if I need to.

Took Syrup 3 times. With being online with COVID, Syrup made the class as fun as possible! She helped with all the labs. She was very flexible with due dates. Read the book, follow her lab videos, and study. She really cares about you and wants you to succeed. You won't regret taking her. She puts in time and effort for students. She is the best!!!

Professor Syrup makes the work worth doing. She offers extra credit and is very knowledgeable of the content she teaches. Unlike the previous review, the tests are made by MVCC, not the professor. Take it up with the department and not the professor. I will be taking her again for my other science requirement. I highly recommend. No regrets!

Took Professor Syrup for the summer semester. One of the GREATEST teachers. Her class was online. She offered as much assistance as you needed, did INTERESTING Lab overviews and she loves what she does! Her lab overviews are very interesting and funny! Prof Syrup made the course very intriguing and engaging. Great teacher, would take course again!

Loved her class! Lots of quizzes & 4 very long exams. I took her 8w class, I am not sure I would do that again. She has 2 books a virtual one and the lab one, she never mentioned they are different. Well they are, the quizzes come from the virtual one NOT the lab she has you do, doesn't make sense. She is super nice / awesome, highly recommend her!

I think professor Syrup was amazing. As someone who took this class for the sake of a creditI really think she was a great teacher and the topics were very interesting. Professor herself is very funny. She is open to answering questions and knows what shes talking about. Her tests are a bit challenging but read the textbook and youll be fine!!

She seems like she cares for her students. Often posted video lectures to help explain difficult concepts. Her lesson videos are kind of like vlogs, but they all make sense. She posts the book so no need to buy anything.

She is the best and SO funny! She makes the most random and funniest jokes in class that have me dying at 9 in the morning. Her geology class is very easy, just participate in the labs and assignments and you'll be good! If you're taking her morning class, she has granola bars for everyone to fuel up :) Would definitely take her again if I could.

Had a fantastic time in this class, showed up and paid attention. There was no reason to miss anything if you showed up. Noticed some students had issues with the class but they averaged a late/missing attendance. Went on a few fun field trips that you normally dont get to take. Highly recommend.

This class was not too bad, Professor Syrup accepts late work for full credit until the unit is completed. There was a lot of homework, and I wouldn't recommend taking this class online if you are like me and struggle with science. Professor Syrup seemed sweet in her lecture videos, and always replies to emails.

I'm personally not that interested in geology I just took this course for the credit and this professor had good reviews. If you think you enjoy geology 1000% take this professor she is really good. If you're not interested in it I wouldn't recommend it. She assigns a lot of work to get you to properly learn the material.

I did hybrid, which I 100% recommend. All of my exams were online besides one, and she would urge us to use our notes. I didn't like the class because I don't like science, but she made it bearable. REALLY read what you're asked to do, because she lays it out for you. As long as you read the outline, you'll do great. SUPER funny & does love it.

This professor cares so much about her students, she's so funny and has snacks for students. I took her hybrid class and it was very easy. Exams are online. It may be stressful in the beginning but DONT worry after exam 1 this class goes by soooo fast. Take this professor you wont regret it

I could tell that she really is passionate about what she is teaching what she is teaching. There are a LOT of assignments, but that makes exams weigh less in overall grade. Uses honorlock for exams which is frustrating. I would take her again even though I hate science!

Earth sciences and geology is not my thing at all, and I am doing great in her class. There are so many opportunities for points and she gives a lot of extra credit. The class can feel long, but she will help you with any assignment/lab and most days, as long as you finish everything, you can leave early. She is very caring, funny, and chill.

Prof. Syrup is a gem! She is passionate, informative, and her work is super easy to stay on top of. I took it hybrid, and loved her style. Overall, a super easy A if you participate, turn in your work on time, and have fun with her. She's amazing!!

If u need to get some physical science credits, TAKE HER!! It's a class with a lot of info but she's super helpful + awesome lectures + you'll learn a lot! She provides lots of extra credit opportunities and lets u bring notes for tests/lab practicals :) I'm someone who isn't that great at science but I loved the class and passed with a 100%

Professor Syrup is amazing - super caring and makes the material engaging. Attendance is a must, but as long as you show up and use resources like Unstuck AI, you'll do great in this class.

The professor did her best to make the difficult class fun. She is aware that most of her students are not science majors, so she is not strict with her grading. The exams are not always what is on the study guide or lecture notes. She is a funny and upbeat professor though.

Mrs. Syrup was an amazing professor. I'm genuinely sad that I won't be able to take her again. Her class was not only easy as long as you paid attention, but she made it so much more enjoyable by how passionate she about about her profession. Just don't be on your phone excessively and show her basic respect. Overall, it was a fantastic class.

So funny and sweet. I do not like science and was worried about taking it here, but she made everything very easy. TAKE HER HYBRID, 2 hours once a week and you get extra credit every class for being on time. Some of the tests are online, others are in person. The online work is okay just a lil lengthy. She genuinely loves what she's teaching.

Krista is one of the best out there at Moraine. She's not only knowledgable of the content, she is beyond funny and makes sure each student is cared for. This was one of the only classes I wasn't nervous to be in. If you care about your success, she will be there to guide you to where you want to go. Would definitely take again!
