She is a very interesting teacher, and even though you may not have any interest in the subject, she is able to grab your attention and hold onto it. I would not consider this class an easy A by any stretch of the imagination, but if you're in class and you study a few hours for the exam, you should be okay. Highly recommend - ask about Odie!

She's a polite and courteous person, but fails to treat her students like adults. Every question I asked her was met with an incredibly patronizing and unhelpful response and information as to how grading occurs is scarce. I respect her, but opine that her regimen and communication with students needs improvement.

Initially, I was challenged at first but read the text book and did well on the media assignments. They are pretty advanced compared to other online classes. What I loved was the main assignment to go out, write about a work in a gallery and that was pretty cool.

This class was one of the easiest classes I've taken. I am an art major so taking her art appreciate class was common sense for me. I passed with flying colors and went through the class like it was nothing. This class is easy as long as you do your work on time and pay attention to what is being asked.

I had the pleasure of taking Dr. Ubbels's Art Appreciation class during the fall. I thought this class would be a drag, since I'm not into art, but I actually enjoyed the class. We had media assignments due every week, and one museum paper. Do the work, turn it in on time, and you should do great.

Dr. Ubbels was my favorite professor ever. She is knowledgeable and passionate about what she teaches. I was always excited to go to her lectures and I took one of her classes every semester I was at SJR. I'm at a major university now studying Classics & her tests prepared me for my higher level classes. She inspired me to go into the field I'm in.

I took her for Intro to Humanities. It was an online class and it was fairly easy. She's very helpful and not a tough grader, as long as you try in the class and prepare in advance it's an easy A. There's a huge midterm paper, which she gives plenty of time to prepare. For the final exam, I had to memorize art slides. Her class was supper fun!

Dr. Ubbels is amazing, and she's very easy to speak to outside of class. I've had moments where I contacted her late at night and she would respond early the next morning, which is very convenient if you need help on an assignment right away. As long as you do the work and actually care about it, you'll do amazing in her class.

I took Professor Ubbels for humanities and art history. She is very passionate about the subject but her teaching style is very outdated. She uses CD's and video scenes from over 10 years ago and isn't the most tech savvy. It's more of a class for people just want to zone out and get an easy A. Lectures were boring but easy to pass tests.

Dr. Ubbels is a great professor, I would take her class again. Turn assignments on time. Follow the rubrics are a must for success. Make sure you stay on top of the assignments in Revel. She will allow you to work ahead so no excuses for turning in late work. Dr. Ubbels would like her students to walk away with a new appreciation for the arts.

I absolutely adored her. She is the sweetest and soft spoken professor. I liked her teaching technique, she makes you write everything out and study, however, once you take the first test you get used to it. You need to know your vocabulary words and slides, after that the rest is a breeze. She also provides a lot of extra credit opportunities.

Great teacher! She really makes Art History interesting and welcomes student participation in the discussions, though it's not mandatory. Gives lectures with slides of various works and you have to memorize the name, location, name of the artist, and the time period. Really very kind and knows her stuff!

I had Dr. Ubbels for an online art class for the summer semester. She gave a good syllabus but thats the only bright spot of the class. If you're looking for a prof who posts grades throughout the semester DO NOT TAKE HER. We recieved two grades all semester and they were posted the day after class ended. I give her a 2/10. Don't really reccomend.

(I took Intro to Humanities) As a Professor she's the textbook definition of "too passionate." Her love of the subject will make this class insanely difficult due to how much she wants you to know, based very little on a pre-established curriculum. If she's our only choice be prepared to take very detailed notes.
