Shes a nice teacher, and gives about 5-6 essays total. She grades a bit hard, but gives a lot of time with revision.

Took class in summer session. It was intense but not its duable. We had like 7(1page Journals). 2 essays. 1 in class n one research paper. This class involves u to participate n become aware of the environmental issues. You have to read like 6 books but not the whole book. Just little parts from it. She grades reasonable for eng1c.

Took her Spring '08. She's an environmentalist who is passionate about what she teaches. Class is straight forward and simple. Field trips were fun and it didn't really feel like a class, besides the day before an essay was due of course. She's really mellow and gives opportunities to turn in missing assignments.

She has a certain structure for her essays, which you need to follow in order to get a good grade. She grades very hard, but you can do revisions on the essays for a better grade. Difficult class, but will make you a better writer and more knowledgeable about the ecocrisis.

Prof Walter allows the class to fuel the discussions, assigns group projects to have students teach each other, and only assigns a few essays and a journal. This can be AWESOME if you are a mature student, or it can be miserable if you were expecting a high-school style english class- I got in to Berkeley as an English major, and she def helped :)

Tough, but fair grader on essays, so make sure to get easy points from on-time drafts and completed reading journals. No exams of any sorts, one group presentation. Books are cheap and easy to read. Im greatful of the new things i learned and new habits I've adapted from her environmental conceptions. Dr. Walter is an exceptional teacher. I had her for both American Literature courses and I would definitely take her again. She's not lecture heavy and urges the class to drive the discussions. I took her in the Spring of 2017. The theme of the class was Environmental Awareness which was a good topic. All reading materials focused on how we need to think differently in order to make a change. Be prepared to read. She expects you to have the reading material for the day completed to come into class to discuss amongst the class.

I took her for both American lit. units and she is phenomenal. She teaches in a socratic-esque method where the students guide the conversation. This class was only once a week, so skipping more than once will not guarantee you a strong grade. A lot of reading to be done and genuine engagement in the class is necessary.

In the beginning, I had a C in her class and I struggled a lot because back in High School, none of my English teachers really taught me how to write an essay. Dr. Walter is extremely kind and patient. She helped me a lot during her office hours and not only I received an A in her class but most importantly, my writing skill improved.

Summer Session (6 Weeks), although the work seemed tedious it really wasn't, the grading criteria was straightforward and there was meaningful feedback/comments on every assignment. Units covered poetry, film, fiction, and skill-building for writing. Lessons on writing and analysis were helpful, and papers were also straightforward. Great Teacher!!

I took English 001B class in Summer. The best professor I have ever come across. God bless her! Gives constructive feedback. Responds to email swiftly, even on weekends. Lots of reading though. Four essays (1200+) throughout the semester that will determine your grade. Notify her if you are running late with your assignments, she'll understand.

I took this over the summer obviously, double the work since it's only 6 weeks but it's doable and manageable. If you know how to manage your time it's not a problem. Doesn't mind late work as long it's within 24 hours or if you let her know she's very nice. Easy A always leaves feedback on what you can do better in your writing.

She's not a tough grader, gives high scores for essays. Does require an effort to complete all the assignments though, but she gives a lot of time if u don't slack off till the very end. This course focuses on environmentalism. There are 3 argumentative essays and 1 self-reflection essay. As long as you do your work, it is not difficult to get an A despite being tougher on grading essays because she is understanding and empathetic of our efforts to get an A. She is also lenient with late work. Would definitely recommend her.

You can pass the class easily as long as you put the effort & manage your time well. However, I was once detected using AI even though I didn't used it. Supposedly she says grammarly scans as AI? Overall, the class wasn't too bad but get ready to read a lot and analyze texts. We often did journals for each module, discussions, and peer reviews.

Her class was great! We had a total of four essays, and essays 3 & 4 were pretty much free full credit if you put in the time and effort. There was a lot of writing in the assignments given, but you would get 100 if you completed it. Only the major essays are truly graded.

There are four required essays in this class with 3 of them being the main assignments and the last one being a share out of what you learned from the class. The only textbook required is the book for the third essay, and her rubric gives clear guidelines. She gives good feedback for the assignments and is always ready to help.

I took the 6-week winter session, so there is a daily assignment. They're either discussions, journals, outlines, or essays. Essays and journals (4 of each) are most time-consuming, so don't procrastinate. As long as you manage your time you'll pass. I am not good at writing but I got an A on all my essays and it was because I followed the instructions to a T. From other reviews I was a little worried but she was really easy as long as you did the work. She is strict on AI but that is it? so you shouldnt worry if you dont use AI. I was so shocked by my grades if I can get an A trust you can.

I had a great experience with this professor in my english 1BH class. She is understanding about deadlines, very compassionate. Just don't turn in anything late towards the end. Essays are a challenge but overall you can get a good grade as long as you follow the prompt. Great class overall!

Took her online english honors c1001 class. Gives a good amount of work, assignments are pretty easy but tedious. She gives full credit on assignments as long as you do them. She only actually grades the essays but isn't a crazy tough grader. Overall, her class is an easy honors class and I'd just take it if you're contemplating.
