She has really good work experience and shares. She gave me feedback after the 2nd week on how I can improve and lets you hand in your assignments early to be marked and you can fix them and rehand in to improve your mark
She is really helpful, and she tells you what you should improve on the next exam. She cares about her students. She is one of best professor I have ever seen.
She is a really good teacher. Everything was so easy but I didn't study that much for in class assignments. Easy quizzes every class and journal assignment every week. Group projects. 1 MT. All easy.
This class is a lot of work but if you keep up and review its an easy A; one midterm and final all noncumalative, simple and easy she lets you choose the test format, overall shes a great and her lectures are amazing, the weekly quizzes are easy and they help a lot for exams
Classes are so interesting and she shares her work experience. She also has lots of connections and introduced me to some influential people in the industry I want to go into. She really cares about her students and it shows. Her assignments seem like a pain at first but really helped me to learn the materials and improve my writing.
make sure to read all instructions because she is big on instructions and make sure you follow the marking criteria.
Really nice person but she's very precise. Students are treated like children; need a doctors note if ill, 1 full mark taken off for each class missed,an email template that you MUST use, etc. Other than her strict and irritating expectations the material itself is quite easy. Put in a great amount of effort and you'll pass.
She really cares about students. I wasn't doing well because it was my first semester but she got me help She makes us write a quiz and an assignment each week but that helped with srtudying Wish she taught more classes

Hands down to the best prof. Her explanation, opportunity, and feedback are good reasons to take her class. Sometimes, she's slow to reply your email. Some ppl don't like her class probably bc they didn't prepare for the class and put the effort in their works. Make sure to read the chaps bc of quizzes & test before the class. Don't expect easy.
She gives amazing lectures, forces you to interact more, participate more. Weekly quizzes and assignments, grade your own participation. Bonus marks available too. Very interactive and interesting lectures though. HOT as well.
Class participation is must. She give assignments and quizzes every week. Also give participation marks.
Best prof ever she cares about students and wants them to be successful and is very easy to talk to even if you are not doing great in the class and slacking she takes the time to and get to know you and still gives you respect I feel like i learn more from her than just the class material
Kristan is the best prof I have had and other people have said she cares... she rlly does and it shows if you have a group project and you have members that don't participate she will work with your team and treats it like a real work situation but it wasn't so bad dfntly rec her if you have to take OB
I never had a prof that cared so much about their students. There was a large group project and she made sure we all did okay by checking in with each group every couple of weeks. I've never had a prof mark midterms, finals and assignments so fast. It literally took her like one day not even. She is very educated and definitely recommend taking her

She is a real gym and this class is so interesting.
Kristan is amazing- take the time to come to her office hours! She loves talking to students. This class is really targeted at business students in their first semester, ie; you could take this class and know nothing about business and still do pretty good. if you've taken some business classes it should be an easy A.

This is the toughest class I took but Kristan has been so kind and generous with her time to help me out my classmates find it really tough but you just have to do the work and not be lazy
Kristan is super good prof. If your get the chance to take her, TAKE HER. She allows the class to decide if you want a cheat sheet or get to know the generally everything on the exams. Easy weekly assignments (takes 15-60 mins max). Participation will boost ur mark up!
did not like this class at the beginning of semester and I thought Kristan was terrible. This class and Kristan was a real game changer for me and I learned a lot about myself moreover I think I actually learned something When I shared this with Kristan she said she did not do anything and that it was all me. She is a real gem I earned my mark
this class is group project heavy so make sure you get a good group. It didn't feel like it was a lot of work until the end with the project and presentaiton

This is the second time I have taken this prof and she is good. She makes you work for it but because she cares it makes it feel less overwhelming. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of work for this class and especially because it is the summer I did not think it would be this much

She gives heavy assignments as if students do not have any other classes to worry about or have a job. Expect to spend 30-40 hours a week on this course (maybe more). Pretty sure she gives herself good ratings on this website because most of my classmates despise her. Save yourself and do not take her, this class is equivalent to taking 2 classes.
miss kristan really cares about students and you can tell she won't give you a mark you didn;t "earn" which is tough because I am paying for the class but I think I learned more from her than so far in my program I have had her for 3 lclasses and I hope for more
Kristan made my day lighter. She treated all students the same and wasn't biased to anyone. She genuinely cares about her students. She believes in earning a grade, not deserving it just because you paid. She was a decent marker on assignment and exams. She does do weekly assignment which help you prepare for the next class. Loved her!
I have had Kristan for three classes because I try to take all her classes She cares about her students but does not let us get aways without putting our best effort in and learning skills we will use in our careers I know some students just want to get in and get out and they may not like a teacher that expects you to put in an effort
10/10 would NOT ever recommend this prof. Does not seem to have a good grip on reality. Exceptionally tough marker. Gives a huge assignment every single week as if the students do not have full time jobs and a heavy course load. Closest I have ever come to dropping out of school. Seems nice in person but it is clearly a front.
You cant run away from her because shes the only one teaching this course. Probably one of the most toughest profs I have came across in my 4 years at KPU. She subtracts 1% from each class missed and assigns heavy assignments that are due each week. Don't let her niceness in person fool you. Moral of this post: Save your GPA and do not take her.
NO instruction or assistance for metrics. Recommended a tutor at the learning centre that told us WRONG info. Days and days spent trying to understand it only to be confused more. Doesnt teach in class, makes students present content every week so she doesnt have to prepare.
No help at all for metrics assignment, which is to be completed on excel. No class time allocated to learning the material. She recommends a tutor so she doesnt have to teach. Says the class used to be in a lab but wasnt necessary so she had it moved. THE CLASS WAS IN A COMPUTER LAB FOR A REASON KRISTAN - ur supposed to teach us the content on them
She is one of my favourite profs. She really helps to apply the concepts to real life examples. Her classes are tough but you definitely come out with learning something. Furthermore, she actually wants you to succeed and learn something. It is too bad some students are lazy and are just want an easy ride ... just wait till they get a job
Semester January 2019 , you must know proper reference format , lose participation marks if you not come in class on exact time. Weekly assignments.
Make sure you attend as many seminars/workshops to earn bonus marks. This course was overall good and taught us a lot about HR analytics however, Kristan does not explain the metrics assignment much and expects students to see her during limited office hours. I find she was biased against some students who saw her on regular basis outside the class
An amazing professor! Class is not difficult as long as you do your work. Quite a bit of workload but she prepares you for future opportunities.
Does not put lectures notes up online so people will come to class. Deducts marks if late or absent. But not to worry, you won't be missing much as she simply has class discussions where she doesn't really teach. Also, be prepared to do many assignments from which you will not learn anything. My challenge to you is to learn something in this class.

The most depressing course
Kristan is a professor who wants her students to learn the course material well. That also means she expects her students to do a lot of reading and put in a lot of effort in the class. Make sure you get into a good group and stay on top of projects. Her midterm and final are all long answers(1 question from each chapter). Participate in class.
Entire class is based on online text TEACHES ALMOST NOTHING IN CLASSES but attendance still mandatory. Tests are all written long-answer no multiple choice
You'll find Busi2425 very boring. You must find a good group cause you'll be with them for the entire semester. If you don't raise your hand to ask questions during presentations, she'll dock participation marks. She has a clear grading rubric for her written projects but no template on what sections to include. She always starts class on time.
Kristan is a nice person. She expects a lot and looks for perfection not considering that we are students. DO NOT BE LATE FOR THE CLASS and do not ignore any part of the rubric. She would dock a lot of marks and will not explain why she did so. The simulation part of the class in interesting but she is reluctant to answer any questions.
Nice teacher but worst class Ive ever taken. Expects you to know what your doing the day you step foot in the class. Not enough resources. You have a semester long project and every week it seems like the same thing is due over and over. Does not explain thoroughly and grades you super hard. We arent entrepreneurs yet so please help us properly
Kristan is awesome, you will learn so much from her. She does want students to participate and be "active" learners but she really does want us ready for the real world
She is such a good prof and takes the time to meet with you when you need more help. She really shows she cares about her students. She may not be easy but you learn a lot and she will help you if you need it. If you are lazy she will challenge you - she did that with a group member and the rest of us appreciated the help
Worst Prof
Kristan was a great prof when I had her for busi 1110 in person. With covid and all and online classes I took 2425 with her thinking shed be the same but no she never replies to emails. She never helps when needed and she expects so much work for a 10% participation mark. You must ask 3 questions from peers, answer 3 questions & then write 2 forum
Kristan cares about your success and wants her students to do well. She made organizational behaviour interesting and fun. The lessons require a lot of thought and effort so make sure to relate the questions to theory and examples. The textbook was free. Stay on top of lessons and youll do fine. No final but be prepared to put in weekly work!
Shes a nice professor, but has extremely unclear yet high expectations. Way too heavy of a workload for how easy the class should be. Shes also an extremely tough grader for things that dont have clear instructions.
Not a good professor, expects WAY TOO MUCH, super keen on citing the smallest things, and oh yeah, NOT CLEAR ON INSTRUCTIONS. Way too strict, I barely learned anything. She's a bit sassy and does not welcome feedback from students at all. NOT a welcoming class that allows students to excel. P.S I would look at other options. The rest is up to you.
Good and nice teacher, but this course is 90% group work which just doesn't work online. Final project is a business plan which can be in excess of 25 pages and isn't too hard, but takes up huge amounts of time. Trying to coordinate with group members virtually for it was a nightmare. Wait until in person classes return before you take it.
Weekly lessons online, but class is asynchronus. There are group assignments throughout the semester with really vague instructions. Our group still did well on most despite unclear instructions. There are 3 self reflection assignments that make no sense you basically have to guess. She is nice though, decent class.
Be prepared to spend at least 4 hours to finish your weekly assignments. Assignments were complicated and instructions were confusing. Loves to give 0s for plagiarism even you didnt plagiarize. NON NEGOTIABLE SUPER TOUGH GRADER!

If you're reading this PLEASE trust me when I say take ANY other prof for this course! She is unclear on her expectations & unrealistic about the amount of work you are required to do. There was no exam for this course so she just piled on the homework making it insane to be able to keep up with other classes. Provides no lecture or real teaching!

She cares about the students. She is always ready to help her students if they reach her. I will surely recommend taking her if you want to analyze the topics and are ready for critical thinking.
Kristan is an amazing personality. You will learn a lot from her. She shows you how things are done in real life. You will definitely need to work and improve yourself to get good grades, but you will notice the progress and changes in yourself. Besides, her lectures are fun.
This class is a mess. So much homework with no proper instructions. She is also a very tough grader. Choose any other professor other than her if you care about your money and GPS. She is nice and responds to e-mails on time, but that's about it. Everything is unorganized and will probably drive you crazy at times.

I do not recommend taking this professor. Her instructions on assignments are vague. Very tough grader, with not much help as to the expectations for metrics assignment. Apparantely, she never received my emails and decided to fail me on those assignemnts that I have been submitting on time and trying to reach out for feedback over a month.

Metric Assignment could have been designed into steps and way more instructions could have been added to it. 0 help provided only to confuse you more. One single criteria miss and you might fail the whole assignment. Craziest grader ever met. The course is not a third year level difficulty at all.
I loved her passion in teaching. You'll get a better grade if you work hard and you're always being honest.
Incredibly strict on marking for the amount of work assigned. You have to cite literally everything even if it is your own opinion. If you want your gpa to stay good I would say find another professor
I have not heard any good news about this professor but I took the risk by taking the course. Most courses only require a few hours a week but this one was by far more. The 28 positive reviews on this site seem fishy too lol
She was a tough prof but the class/course content itself is not difficult. I went into this course with little to no excel experience and still passed. Learn the basics such as sorting, filtering, and pivot tables and you will be fine. Don't leave things last minute & ask good questions (don't just say ur confused, be specific) and you will be okay
Lots of HW, has unique approach when it comes to citations, instructions are sometimes hard to follow. You might be a bit mad with her at first. But there are many safety nets in place, including extra credit, weighted grades, ample room to learn from mistakes; just get to know her unique style before dropping-out out of anger and you'll be fine.
She is undoubtedly good, caring, supportive, and very positive. BUT, when it comes to work, this course has tones and tones of things to do. Every week there are a minimum of 5 things to complete. Most of them take several hours to read, analyze and write. If you are reading Kritan, PLEASE REDUCE BURDEN; your students are always under stress.

BEWARE!! I would NOT take her ever in my life again. She assigns a million things every week and her grading system is so inconsistent and all over the place. Our group even scheduled multiple office hours with her to ask her about things and she vaguely goes over it but doesn't give any details. Just a mess of a class and honestly not worth it.
Has a great personality but her classes are so difficult. There are multiple lessons, assignments, and forums each week on top of your main group capstone project and huge e-portfolio assignment. Grades well IF you follow rubric expectations. You must cite everything, otherwise be prepared to lose a ton of marks. I would avoid taking if you can.

Easy course but marking extremely hard and labelling every group project and assignment as plagiarised with its not. Also she should be reported!
worst prof, assigns 5 millions things for you do even when the course is online. Is barely available and tells us straight off the bat that she has prior commitment will reply once a week. PLS RUN WORST PROF. she assigns you like 3 big projects every week, & a bunch of filler assignments. she doesn't realize that we have other commitments (other courses, jobs, etc) and expects us to put in like all our time into this course & its an introductory course.. gives no feedback whatsoever, yet docks marks bc we "didn't meet the criteria"

Absolutely unreachable. Do you have a question? Send an email and you can expect a response in a week or you can book office hours only for her to not show up (this has happened to me multiple times in just 6 weeks!). I sent an email 2 weeks ago. Did I get a reply? NOPE! Her marking is absurd - I'm convinced she takes marks away for fun.
I would say take another prof but shes the only one teaching. Worst prof I have had in the HR program. She thinks that her class is the only class u have and assigns sooo many things each week and she loves to take marks away too so beware u might be at 90% and the next day you will be at a 50%
Idk how she is a prof she is the worst prof I have ever had, dumps loads of work on u each week with not enough time to complete, is so stubborn and such a pain to deal with. Her mission is to make u as miserable as possible and make u hate ur life. The amount of work u get is unfathomable and not doable.
Unfortunately she is the only prof teaching sometimes. So sad. She seems miserable and is one of if not the worst professor I have ever had. I hope she gets some help because it seems as if she wants to punish the students for no reason. I really don't think she is meant to be a professor lol. Hope this helps you!

She'll give you good marks if you ask questions, come to class, go to office hours & post in the forum. Otherwise, you'll have a hard time in this class. She's hard on the ones who don't come to class. Her marking is a little weird, but try your best and go to the workshops for 10% of bonus marks and look in the forums for bonus marks sometimes
She is a very good professor and always help students to get good grades.
Avoid her. The amount of work this class has is unbelievable and she doesn't teach you anything. She has a flipped classroom approach which isn't useful at all. I was looking forward to learning something in this class and it was a huge waste of time not to mention money. I strongly advise anyone to take this class with another instructor.
Avoid her if you can. If you want to actually learn anything, take anyone else. With the amount of "teaching" she does, this class should be online asynchronous. Every week is tedious and meaningless tasks. Class on Fridays, assignments due Sunday, and she does not respond on the weekends. Her syllabus, grading criteria, and grading are nonsense.
Avoid this professor if possible. The workload is extremely heavy, and the grading is questionable. However, unstuck ai could be a helpful study tool to tackle the excessive assignments. Consider looking into that as an alternative to traditional resources.
If I were to stuck on a ship and have a choice to either take Kristan again or sink I would just sink. Run away if you can. She does not deserve her instructor title. She does not teach, loves to assign low grades and when confronted, proceed with saying she does not remember marking your assignment. Crazy amount of homework and lots of self-taught

Kristan has a unique teaching style that prepares you for real world applications. Yes, the course load was heavy, but it's a capstone course. As an asynchronous course, there is not a lot of direction, however there is more than enough material, resources, instructions and feedback to easily achieve high marks in this course, just no hand holding.
