Excessive amounts of online homework and poor lecture material. What you learn in class is not sufficient to complete the homework or perform well on the many quizzes she gives you. On top of that, she's boring and inattentive. Avoid at all costs.

She's very interesting. If you're looking to take 243, I do not recommend her as a prof. Material learned in class is not relevant to the exams or any of the homework. She gives no review for the midterm or the final so it's very difficult to be well-prepared. Also, terrible at communicating outside of class. Just take a different prof. if possible

I would not recommend Kristen Henderson. Neither the lectures or her office hours are enough to succeed in the course, and nothing justifies the difficulty of her exams. Be careful, the wording is intentionally tricky! Doesn't seem to understand it's an intro course and takes math too seriously. Take a different section.

Nice gal, but never-EVER take an 8:30 AM with her. Her lectures were really hard to get through, a good chunk of the lecture hall was always dozing off. I had to do a lot of outside learning myself due to her unstructured teaching style. Very difficult to take notes from, you won't learn much in class. Take advantage of your discussion professor.

The class itself was not too tough. Tests were simple. However, she did not do much to help us prepare for tests, just webwork. I got a B+ in the class, but actually deserved an A-. On one of the midterms she marked a multiple choice answer wrong when it was right and said she would correct it. Never did, and I finished with a 89.5 instead of a 91.

This is easily the worst experience Ive ever had with a teacher. She was unclear and rude when you asked clarifying questions. The entire class was either trying to drop the class or switch professors. If youre planning on being in this class: find a better teacher.

Possibly the worst professor I have ever encountered. The math should have been very easy but she organized in a way where the entire class had no idea what they were supposed to be doing. She was rude when talked to in person and over email. I highly recommend you avoid this professor at all costs.

Very disorganized (forgetting her notes, late to lectures) and made really simple concepts hard to get right on tests. The homework was insanely hard compared to the lectures, which were mostly review, and the tests were set up so you would fail even if you understood the concepts. I don't even know my final grade, or even if I passed.

She was a nice prof, but her homework and lectures did not match up at all. Homework was extremely difficult, especially her packets. The online homework usually had nothing to do what we did in class either. Overall, I wouldn't recommend taking this class with her.

Awful! She even doesn't know how to use thee projector and take attendance. She even doesn't allow students to use calculator. This is 243, it should be using calculator. Oh My Gosh! Unbelievable!

Probably one of the worst experiences I have ever had. During lecture, she does not stay on one topic, but will talk about bits and pieces of unrelated things, then tell us it's unrelated. Doesn't use the mic correctly so you can hear every little mouth sound. This is math not asmr!! Goes super super fast, and will teach things not on the test.

She is not a very good teacher. Numerous times she would show up to lectures not prepared. She was disorganized and would make WebWork due before she taught the material. She does not allow calculators on tests which is ridiculous because it is a statistics class. If you can avoid having her I would.

this professor does absolutely nothing to help her students. she doesnt teach or give examples of anything that is like any test given. she wouldnt allow calculators on a STATS test, but would use it during class. for math 111, she makes this class (a relatively basic algebra class) so difficult & discouraging. I have not survived this class without the help of 3 of my friends, 2 who don't even have her - and they all agree that she's awful. She's so scattered and unorganized so it's pretty hard to keep up. Her most common responses to questions are "Uh, idk what you mean by that" or "That is not something I can answer in a lecture". Don't take her class.

This is one of the worst classes I've taken at UO. I never took stats before this class, and she made it so much more difficult. We were taught in class how to use the calculator, but she wouldn't allow it on tests. GEs were also unapproachable. I'm at a major disadvantage now with my other data based classes because I didn't learn a single thing.

Very frustrating class. I realize that it is newly mandatory online classes which takes adjusting but She was very short with the class- had little time for questions. The online tests glitched every time- the whole class studied really hard on discord together and there was only two good grades for any given test. Honestly, steer clear.

Henderson is unfortunately one of the worst teachers I've ever had. She showed a disappointingly low grasp on what she was teaching for a college professor and was so disorganized it was frustrating to be in class. My only compliment is that I think she does care about teaching, however, I think her grading system is still lazy and hurts students.

She did not explain well and was always super distracted. I felt like I did not learn anything from her class which was very frustrating. Even when I went to office hours to get help, I never left with a good understanding.

The lectures and the homework did not match up. I have learned nothing in this class, and usually am relatively good at math. Tests are extremely difficult, including material we never learned or went over. Her online lecture vids are from years ago, and arent even lectures, shes just doing problems. would not ever take again.

Me failing this course is definitely partially on me, but this is one of the worst classes I have ever taken. The couple of times I tried to go to her for help her response boiled down to "just work harder and you'll pass". Kristen seems like a nice person, but I truly hope I never take another course from her again.

Felt stupid during the whole class even after asking for clarification. The class was unorganized and confusing. Henderson tends to assume that students are understanding the material. She doesn't explain concepts thoroughly and expects that you already know them. Would not recommend her class to anyone that is slow learner or needs extra support.

If you try to seek out help from her she just says "just try harder" I did not do good on either of her midterms and I asked if there was anything that I could do to raise my grade, she just said no there's nothing you can do. She's not willing to help her students succeed in class. She also confuses herself with her own teaching.

She didn't teach us half of what we needed to know, so I spent hours reteaching myself stuff JUST to finish my homework. I was not the only one who had these issues, I had multiple friends in the class who felt the exact same way. She also doesn't hire great TAs because my section leader was awful at explaining concepts

I would 100% give this teacher a 0. She assigns homework and only on the day before it is due does she teach what's on it. She teaches to us like kindergarteners and assigns not only a paper packet assignment but an online course of homework that is somehow always incredibly difficult. The quizzes are nothing like the class material.

Would teach very basic concepts in lectures but assigns homework that is absurdly more complicated. Have to reteach myself everything because she is so awful at teaching what you need to know in order to do the work. Took this class as a requirement but seriously considered switching to pass fail because of how bad she is at teaching.

I would rather die than take a class taught by this woman ever again. She is extremely disorganized, spends over an hour teaching us nothing and has to push back homework so that two assignments are due in one day because she cant teach. Teaches the most simple things in the most difficult way and the homework is 500x harder than examples in class.

Do Not take Math111 if she is your professor. Genuinely the worst professor I have ever had. Never was on the same page with TAs and often cancelled class. Midterms would look nothing like the homework/quizzes

Ms Henderson consistently was struggling to coherently teach concepts and the class was also very un involved. She does not seem like a natural teacher or natural people person, and is probably just a natural math fanatic. This does not translate to being a good teacher, I recommend no one to take this class and if you have to find a different prof

Just to give you a sense of Henderson's teaching style, it is currently week 10 and she has two WebWork assignments due tonight (the assignments that are unrelated to lectures), a homework packet due tomorrow, a THIRD MIDTERM on Friday, and next Friday is our final exam. All of this because she could not teach us what she needed to in time.

Professor Henderson was not a good math teacher. The lectures, which consist solely of easy problems as examples, are nothing like the homework packets, the online homework, or the midterms. Similarly, the online homework and packets are nothing like the tests. I am lucky I have taken a class similar to this recently, or this course would SUCK.

She was just about the worst professor/teacher I have ever had. She would often skip around to different subsections of topics without finishing the previous topics, and the homework assigned almost never had anything to do with what we had spent the day learning about in class. If you need help prepping for Math 241 don't take her Math 111 class.

I took a hybrid version of this class and I wish I didn't. We needed to watch videos that were made by her that were three years old, we used ALEKS which did not line up with the videos we were watching every week, and our weekly assignments seemed to have even less to do with the things we had learned. She made little effort to teach our class.

wouldn't recommend. she teaches by solving equations without giving written or verbal step by step explanations so you're both lost and cant keep up with her lectures.

This teacher refused to offer any help to several students that reached out about the overwhelming and unrealistic work load/homework. i DO NOT recommend this teacher

This has to be the worst class I have taken throughout my ENTIRE LIFE. I didn't learn anything at all. The material didn't make sense and the GE's are complete jokes. You will have to use Webwork and it will make you want to drop out of college. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this teacher at all!

The absolute WORST course I have taken in my entire life. Does not teach her lessons and lectures only consist of typed word problems with her solving for the answer. Does not teach how to solve for the answer and assumes the students already know how to. Webwork is an absolute hell to get through. Would rather sit on a hot grill than take again.

Content isn't anything too difficult, but the prof teaches in a way that is more showing herself do the work rather than teaching us how to actually do it. The worst part is the webwork which is much more difficult than what we are taught and what's on the tests. The GEs are not on the same page as prof and expect more from us than what we learned.

I would not take this professor. I had the worst GE, he did not explain things well at all. Kristen goes very fast in class and explains things so easy. But her work is nothing like what you actually learn in class.

I'm convinced she's on a power trip or something because the average midterm was 60% and she refuses to curve the grade. there is a crazy amt of hw on webwork that has nothing to do with the lectures. be prepared to spend HOURS in tutoring for them to actually teach the content. id takethe other professor if possible.

Kristen Henderson is honestly one of the worst professors and teachers I've ever had. She doesn't even teach, all she does is talk for a couple minutes at the beginning of class and passes out packets. She doesn't answer your questions when you ask for help, and ALL of her directions are COMPLETELY illegible. I wound NOT recommend her to anyone

Professor is unbelievably unorganized. Webworks were full of stuff we never used on exams or learned in class. So unnecessarily hard. I highly doubt she even looks at them before assigning. The final was terrible and nothing like the study guide. STAY AWAY. The whole class is struggling and she is doing nothing!

This professor was my first teacher at the U of O. She makes attendance required yet doesn't teach in the 50 minutes a day. Her TA honestly was a better teacher and told us he was a music major, how can you be worse then your TA whose majoring in music?? Do NOT have this professor.

She got sick twice, failed to post video content timely, assigned webwork that took hours and was never tested on, and had weekly packets and quizzes, too much. Awful class for a simple subject, it was a joke among tutors. Cheery in class and helpful 1on1. GE said 2/3 of the class was failing. Had to curve every exam and the entire class. joke.

Worst teacher at U of O by far. She does not know now to teach and gives homework that will take you a week to finish just for the one assignment not only to mention that the homework's are quite impossible to get above a B or a C on.

MATH241, she does not know math, simply reads out of a manual/textbook, often seems distant or unfocused on the class. Lab attend. is graded and that is where you will receive worksheets and do quizzes & exams. She is slow with the material and the classes do a poor job of teaching units. If taken, refer to youtube/chegg to learn the concepts.

Math 241, lectures were very unorganized, consistently did the problems incorrectly. Only able to get through a few problems a class. Canvas page unorganized as well, due dates incorrect and had incorrect grades showing all term. Take another professor.

This might be one of the worst math teachers i've ever had. The lectures aren't even on notes, she just does practice problems and even puts text in as well. She explains pretty well but sometimes she got the problem wrong. The practice test helps for midterms but half of it even goes on the test. She also "fixed" our grade so everyone lost 7%.

Spending entire classes on just three questions, each turning into a full essay? Seriously? Her support is a joke. Asking for a little understanding due to illness or injury is met with a cold recitation of university policy. It's like she's more interested in upholding rules than actually helping students learn. Avoid her classes like the plague.

She would just do random math problems on the board all class without any explanation of why or how she was doing them. We didn't learn any formulas. My notes always just ended up being the problems she did in class, so I never really learned anything from going to lectures. I ended up having to teach myself everything from the textbook on my own.

Insane amount of work, that is absolutely pointless and confuses you more. The lectures were not informative. get ready for a term of feeling lost.

This professor doesn't know what she is doing at all. She doesn't post due dates on Canvas, so make sure to keep up with the syllabus. Her lectures are ineffective, and she constantly gets the material wrong/won't correct it unless a student says something. Only take it if you wanna teach yourself the material.

Wouldn't give me an extension when my grandma died. Very unorganized, sends emails at 9pm, spelling errors everywhere.

If you can avoid her, please do. From being in her class personally, it seems like she doesn't run over her lectures (or even tests) prior to teaching them and relies on students to catch errors for her. In my recent test, TWO questions were obviously rushed and not read over because they were worded incorrectly and my GE had to help our class.

Only take her if you absolutely need to. She relies on students to find her mistakes + VERY confusingly worded questions on tests, like she had a middle schooler write them. Grading policies are very confusing + she's not very accommodating for students. i genuinely had a tweaker episode every time i walked into class i couldnt take it anymore

The worst teacher I have ever had in the 19 years I have been alive. Her lectures are incomprehensible, and half the class is spent watching her mess up her own example problems. I think she is going through some mental health struggles, which I empathize with, but she should be put on administrative leave. It's unfair to subject students to this

Awful. Inaccurate syllabus, poor communication w/ GE's. Lectures/ canvas notes are messy, incomplete, & full of mistakes in her math/rounding/spelling. She is easily confused by her own examples & relies on students to correct her. Prepare to teach yourself, she is useless as a professor. Only pro- she drops 1 exam of 3, so you can skip the final.

The Textbook is online and where you do your HW. It is so extremely hard and its 100 times harder than the test so you don't know what to prepare for

Practice tests are way simpler than the exams. Doesn't seem enthusiastic at all when teaching. Have had multiple substitute teachers. Practice tests are a horrible gage for course material so go back to worksheets and webwork.

She comes to class unprepared and only does example problems (that sometimes confuse her) without actually teaching the content. Instead of teaching, she gives the answers and doesn't explain the process. Some problems that are in the study materials she posts aren't even relevant to the exam, and sometimes exam questions are formatted confusingly.

Girl. This is hands down the WORST professor I've had at UO. Her grading was inconsistent, making it impossible to know what she wanted, so good luck figuring out what she actually wants. And the worst part? She straight-up left nasty, unprofessional comments on an exam, then had to send a mass apology email because she was just in a bad mood.

If you have to take a math course with Kristen Henderson, Im so sorry. She does not know how to teach, she places so much emphasis on the two midterms and final. If you mess up on the final you're screwed due to it having the most impact on your grade (doesn't matter if you 100% everything else)

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! Literally have not met 1 person who is passing this class.This prof does not teach, makes mistakes regularly, assigns so much homework, and has 80% of your grade be based off exams (final determines whole grade). Good luck teaching all the material to yourself and spending hours at the Knight tutoring center.

This class is extremely difficult because the professor often messes up problems and makes things extremely confusing. She is a bad teacher and just writes the material down. 80% of your grade is difficult exams. The class isn't impossible to pass but be prepared to teach the entire thing to yourself and be in the tutoring center.

Let me preface by saying she is fun and seems like a nice lady, yet her teaching isn't up to par of a typical University professor. The class is weighted horribly, and you have to do well on the final to pass. Practice exams and actual exams couldn't be more different. Examples are rushed and not explained in class. Nice lady, wouldn't recommend.

I think the biggest issue with her class is that there is no curve to the final score. The class average for the final was failing. Do not take this course.

I have never failed a class in my life but i failed her class. Your whole grade depends on the final and the class average for tests is about 60, worst class ever, i had to spend so many nights on khan academy because she doesn't explain the questions well or at all, there are also lots of questions on the test that just come out of nowhere.

This woman has made me fail two classes at UO. This term (S25) was what really threw me over the edge and made me change my major to something that doesn't require math classes. At the beginning of the term she told us that she didn't care if we passed or failed so I took note of that and went on after we took the first midterm a 55% average.I left

She makes easy concepts difficult to understand. It gets confusing a lot for no reason. On top of that, the tests are worth so much of the grade; it's like nothing else you do in the class, and discussions matter. The study guides for midterms are of no use. Unless math comes easily to you, prepare to get a tutor.
