She is really fun and knows what she is talking about. Uses powerpoint for every lecture and requires ALOT of notes, so i would suggest bringing a laptop to take them on or your hand will start to cramp. But she is very clear and you learn alot from her.

Professor Campbell was an awesome teacher. Had humor and she was really passionate about what she was teaching! Grade based on tests and homework. Doesn't give much of a study guide. Take notes! Not the easiest A but if you do the homework and study, you'll do fine.

To get an A, you must: do really well on all 4 of her exams, do all the assigned readings (about 10 chapters; only need 1 book) & write for each chapter (sounds a lot but its really not). In class, its all lectures from her ppts (powerpoints are usually posted on blackboard before class). Attendance is mandatory. History with her was very chill.

Kristen is awesome. She is hilarious and make going to class fun. Lets be honest most people don't like history but with Kristen she makes it interesting and fun. Would Defiantly recommend reading i on the tougher side but other than that not too bad as long as you pay attention to the review she does.

Kristen is a great teacher! She makes understandable power points and makes analogies so you can understand better. She is also pretty funny and has a good sense of humor. I would recommend her to anyone. She made me enjoy history! just do your work and pay attention.

She is very passionate about what she teaches, which makes the class incredibly interesting. The only bad thing is that she goes slow throughout the year so we aren't going to get past Nixon and the 70s. Textbook required only for homework assignments.

AMAZING professor. Enthusiastic and hilarious, which makes listening to lecture much easier. PPoints are vague but she does a great job of explaining, so just be sure you pay attention and attend class. Tests are relatively easy and she posts everything that's on the tests online before to help study. Very approachable if you need help! TAKE HER!!!

She is really fun and makes the lectures easy to understand and very animated. Easy to follow along with her power point. Assignments (4 total) are somewhat time consuming but are easy A's if you follow her very clear instructions, they are based entirely on the book. Offers extra credit. I would take her again, she is amazing! Highly recommend!!!

History has never been my favorite subject, but In this class Kristen keeps it interesting and made me want to learn more. Tests come straight from the lectures. She offers some extra credit and only assigns a few short paper from the book. Gives good study guides that will help you ace the tests. Would definitely take her again.

Kristen is one of the best professors I've ever had. I took her for 101 and liked her so much I decided to take her again for 102. If you pay attention during lecture and take good notes the tests are easy. She tells you exactly what you need to know for the tests and makes history interesting (which I didnt think was possible) cause shes hilarious

Don't take this class expecting it to be an easy A. Her lectures are long and drag after a while. Your entire grade is based upon 4 "quizzes" and 4 assignments. The assignments come from a book with essays and they're difficult to sort out. The tests are 40 MC, 10 short answer and 3 opinion. Personally, I would not take her again.

She is really funny which makes the long lectures not so bad. She gives a study guide & tells you exactly what to expect on the tests. The only bad thing about this class was the horrid assignments that were assigned. Time consuming and boring to say the least. She gives 2 easy extra credit opportunities so take advantage! Definitely recommend

She is a hilarious professor. Her teaching style is just like watching an episode of Drunk History. She is very clear about what she expects and is there to help anytime you need help. She doesn't grade on participation so if you are shy it's a great pick.

Kristen is a very funny teacher. Her personality is amazing. Lectures are very entertaining, and boy do I hate history. She assigns 4 assignments during the semester that are very complex and require a lot of research. Her tests are also pretty tough but if you study, you'll pass. You must attend her lectures. She grades on attendance. Boo.

Kristen is awesome. This is my second time taking one of her classes. She gives four assignments which are short papers, based off the textbook, three quizzes and a cumulative final. You get an attendance grade and she offers two extra credit assignments which are both super generous. Show up to class and pay attention and you'll get an A.

Kristen is one of my favorite professors at Palomar. She has these amazing lectures that are always funny, easy to understand, and because you are laughing all the time its easy to remember. I took both her Hist 101 and 102 class. There is one homework assignment per month and it's 2 pages. She also offers extra credit.

I loved her history class! She's so funny and really nice. She tells you exactly what's going to be on the tests and if you pay attention during her class, you'll do fine. She gives 4 assignments which she grades strictly and expects a lot from them. To be honest, if it weren't for her assignments, I would definitely take her class again

Professor Marjanovic is amazing. I took her for 102 and I am definitely going to take her for 101. She is super funny and keeps the class really entertaining. She really brings history alive. You have 4 tests including the final, and 4 written assignments. If you put in the effort, you'll get a good grade. TAKE HER!!

Kristen is such a great professor! I took her for both HIST 101 & 102. She makes the lectures interesting and funny. She has 4 assignments and 4 quizzes, super easy. Take notes, listen, and you will pass this class. I highly recommend her!

I took her for both hist 101 and 102. I honestly miss going to both classes. Imagine a comedian teaching history... That's her. I have always hated history but she made it so interesting and fun to learn. She really knows her stuff. The assignments are tough but the exams are easy as long as you study her lectures. TAKE HER!!

There are 4 "quizzes" and 4 assignments. The multiple choice is easy, the short answers are harder. The assignments come from the book and were difficult for me, be really specific and descriptive. Take good notes and you will pass the class. Gives some extra credit that was easy to do. Personally would not take again but good luck.

The best history professor I have ever taken! I had her for both the 102 and 101. She really cares for her students and is very flexible. I would definitely take more of her classes but she only teaches those two. Offers extra credit as well. Lots of chances to increase your grade. Her lectures are really interesting!

She's absolutely awesome! i love her! she's hilarious, and makes you laugh all the time. She keeps history fun and makes it more fun! If you just listen to what she says and take notes quizzes will be a breeze. She's always available to help! and is extremely knowledgable. and keeps the class involved.

She is a hilarious teacher. I give her props for making it an interesting class. The downside though is her hard grading especially on the tests. You'll have to write 2 essays during the semester which are a little difficult. Always go to class since missing a day literally can make you feel lost.

Such an amazing prof, she is hilarious and make the class so interesting. Quizzes are pretty easy and she tells you what to expect on the exams. Papers are time consuming but if you follow the guideline you will get and A on them. I definitely recommend taking this class with her if you have the option, you won't regret it.

Outstanding professor! She makes learning history fun, and makes it relatable. She's hilarious, and makes the lectures interesting. Quizzes are easy, as long as you pay attention in class, and she will go over what you need to know for the quiz ahead of time. The papers are a bit difficult, but the guidelines make it easy to follow.

Kristen Marjanovic was an amazing professor this semester she was HILARIOUS with her lectures, she made the class fun and her quizzes and tests are easy to pass just take notes during class or just listen, i would advise to show up for the journals, and she goes over material at a faster rate, but still very easy to keep up. and she's STUNNING!

I am a high school student that took her class and it was absolutely amazing! As long as you pay attention, take notes, as well as take time to write out her study guides, you will be sure to pass all of her tests and quizzes with an A. Good at presenting the material in lectures. Cant miss any of her classes though because all the notes you want to take are on what she says and writes on the board. tough grader, her tests are mostly fill in blank/written response and are not multiple choice. They may have been easier had I bought the textbook but she said it wasn't required.

Great professor. Really broke things down in a way that you could see it. Always making jokes, and actually funny jokes. There are some minor assignments randomly assigned, so show up as much as you can. But they're worth very little points so its not a big deal to miss one. She gives you a study guide that shows exactly whats on the test.

Professor Marjanovic was my favorite professor this semester. Her lectures were always super funny and interesting and easy to take notes on. Her tests are easy because she makes sure to review what will be on them, and it is all from the lecture. We did one paper, 5 exams and a final. Textbook was only needed for the paper

Her paper assignments are unclear and hard to get a decent grade on. I got A's on all my quizzes and did all the extra credit just to get a B in the class due to failing grades on the papers I spent days doing. You don't need the book as she test only on her lectures. Her lectures are good but have to much background household going on.

Professor Marjanovic does a great job keeping the class entertained with her personality whilst also banging information into our head. She's really funny and sometimes gets sidetracked, but she gets things done. There are some papers and in-class journals, but they are all fairly easy. Study hard for tests. There is a lot of material to memorize.

Took the clsss online and it was fast paced. You dont need the textbook because she has all the info in the lecture in order of the information in the text. That makes it easy and convenient. I find the lectures rather informal and dumbed down so I did not enjoy them and found them rather confusing at times.

Professor Marjonvic lays everything out for you in her on-line course. She is strict on research paper protocol. Her exams are fair with review outlines given ahead of time. You must answer the test questions using info from her power-points or you will get no credit. No googling answers! A few extra credit assignments offered.

With all the confusing required exam papers, this better be your only class, it is conducted like its the only class on earth. It felt like I was attending Harvard, but minus the scholarly professor, the grading was completely unbalanced and biased.

Lots & lots of work. Forget about "life" if you plan to take this class. Mid-and final exams are essays. You can almost write a book due to all the requirements she want. Lecture videos were recorded poorly (3-4 hrs. AGONY), too many background noises, and coughs directly to the microphone (geez!). I will not recommend this class.

Kristen is amazing. I've taken her class twice. Yes, she does expect a lot of you when it comes to exams, however she thoroughly prepares you for them. If you pay attention to lecture and study, you will pass with flying colors. She's also insanely funny! Makes you actually want to listen to lecture because her jokes are seriously hilarious!

Easily my fav professor I have taken. Her use of sarcasm and modern day terms for outdated history creates funny lectures, it makes you want to come to class. Exams are fill in the blank, but are very easy and each question is given in a study guide. Her quirkiness is rare and appreciated deeply.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE!!! She posts about 4 hour lecture long videos EVERY WEEK and your quizzes are ONLY based off of those lectures. She grades papers really tough. The quizzes are basically your homework & has chapter tests. Doesn't use a book so you need to actually pay attention to her long lectures. I heard she's better in person.

It was pretty good and I learned a lot, but the lecture videos are anywhere between 2-4 hours long and there are 2 of them a week. I got to the point where they were so long and drawn out that I couldnt focus. A lot of her test material isnt something thats on the video slide, but from her talking. I did like the class though!

I took her online and even though it was lecture heavy she kept them interesting and appealed to the younger generation. She wasn't monotone in her lectures. Also, when it came to the assignments she had she had very good feedback and was understanding. Take the quizzes on time since it is an online class there are really no exceptions!

This was an excellent class, the professor records her lectures off of slide show presentations, the course is very organized. You do not need to buy a textbook she gives link to a free one. Easy to get As on the weekly tests. At the end of each of the 3 units there is an exam with a written essay, a source analysis assignment and current event.

Kristen is a great teacher. She's funny, clear, and has a really well planned out syllabus. It may seem like a lot to do when you first start the class, but as long as you show up and take good notes you will pass the class easily. Hardly did I ever need to read the free online textbook she provided for us.

Professor Marjanovic has been the best professor Ive had in college thus far. She is passionate and extremely knowledgeable about the topics she is lecturing about. She is an excellent story teller, so good that she can even keep you interested in pre & post-civil war effects, crazy huh? Overall great experience definitely the class to take.

Professor Marjanovic really is a hilarious person. Her lectures make you want to laugh. Beware though, notes are required and she covers a lot of material in 1 hour and 30 minutes. Her class isn't too tough, but you do need to do the work, obviously.

I am taking online classes so I am able to work full time and also take classes. This professor is very smart and has interesting lectures. My only complaint is that since I am taking online classes I expected it to be more time friendly, but she post ideos that add up to 4-5 hours a week and base her quizzes off of them. Also heavy essay class.

This class is ideal for people who don't want to read history books and prefer online lectures. Because that is basically most of the class besides a few discussions. Also few "papers" which are all set up and formatted for you, its honestly a breeze. The class is a lot of work for a 3 unit class, but I would recommend because it was good quality.

So I took this class over the 8-week Summer session and it was alright, no MASSIVE complaints. Only thing is that because it can be lecture heavy, it can be difficult to understand or capture all of the things covered on exams. Also, be prepared for short-answer prompts to be answered quickly, and I mean QUICKLY.

Okay professor, but she despises outside sources. You're only allowed to use the sources she provides and nothing else. If you use outside sources, she will give you an F on your assignments, even if they're true or align with her sources as well. Be sure to take plenty of notes, or better yet, type everything she says in her videos!

She is a tough grader for the tests her lectures are 2-4 hours each online. If you dont watch the lecture dont expect to pass the quiz. She made me hate history but I took her class online she could be better in person.

I had a hard time as I take a long time to take notes. There were captions but they give the wrong word (as it's generated by youtube) and there was no transcript. The lecture was really long. The quiz was multiple choice but there was essay questions which was also hard.

She is truly an amazing teacher when I finished US History Before Reconstruction, she ended the lecture in the most mind-opening way possible. She teaches lectures so good that I basically took US History After Reconstruction because I loved her so much. I would argue that US History after Reconstruction is easier but that's my opinion.

Be prepared to type a lot! There're prompts at the end of quizzes, essays & discussion boards. Videos range from 40 minutes to 2 hours, & there're more than 2 lecture videos at times. The captions are automated, but you can get the transcripts. Quizzes are 13 questions long and are timed (40 minutes). You're only allowed to use her sources. Beware!

I LOVED this class! History is my favorite subject so I find it interesting by default. However, she taught it in a way that could keep anyone interested. Tests every week, long lectures, and a few writing assignments. All felt very easy and necessary. Study lots for midterm and final though.

Even though I struggled a little bit, I still learned A LOT from her course. Every bit of course work is super organized so it's impossible to get lost. The lecture videos range from 40-2hrs long. Do not use outside sources or you WILL FAIL. It's just better to get your answers from the lectures. Her class forces you to learn the material. its cool

Professor Marjanovic is the absolute best teacher you could ever wish for. She is caring for your grade. Be honest, don't cheat, do all the assigned work, and you are going to do very well in the class. She makes me laugh really hard, even in the recorded lectures. She is very kind and a fast responder to messages. TAKE HER! SHE IS SO AWESOME!

2 semesters in a row Prof M has been incredible. You can watch all the lectures via youtube on your own time, and there is no textbook and hardly any reading. The "paper" is literally already formatted for you, and she basically grades on if you do it or not. Really nice and caring, definitely the best history professor at palomar. Easy A with EC.

Professor M is awesome! By far one of the best professors that Ive have. She made History interesting by adding her own flare to it. Every week is a different section of history and is following by a quiz. They are extremely easy if you paid attention to her lectures. It helps that her voice is real easy on the ears. Also gave EC. 10/10.

It is a very easy class. I learned a lot about history. As long as you actually listen to her lectures and take notes you will do great on quizzes/test. She is clear upfront in the syllabus about requirements for the course. The discussion boards and other assignments are easy and she has directions for everything.

Mrs. M is my favorite history teacher I have ever taken. Her lectures made me bust out laughing at some points, while I almost cried at others. She doesn't hold back in lectures and speaks about all the difficult parts of history you didn't learn in high school. She drops your two lowest quizzes and gives extra credit. Take this class.

The lectures are heavy but very educational. She has removed the short essay questions from quizzes. Midterm and final are all written, no multiple choices. There are discussion boards throughout the semester. The textbook is free and is only used on select assignment.

I took her for Summer 2021. She is a very caring professor who wants her students to succeed. She is lecture only so no textbook is needed. Lectures are pretty heavy but they are interesting and very knowledgable. She's quite funny and makes History a lot of fun. Don't use outside sources or you'll fail. She's a great Professor! Take her!!

Shes great if youre the type of person who doesnt want to have to attend a zoom class. If you wanna make your own schedule take this class. There is a good 3-6hrs of lecture to watch a week but if you wanna manage your own time I highly recommend! Also take notes for the quizzes!

She requires that all course work is derived solely from her lectures, and makes frequent mentions that she is willing to fail you over even minute incidental deviation. Her cheerful attitude is often pleasant, and the course structure is pretty solid, however it could definitely be presented better. The lectures themselves are decent, but long.

I have never enjoyed history, but she made the class so fun. I took it online and while her lecture videos were pretty long, they were interesting. She goes into depth which is why they take time to watch, but because of that I feel like I understand all of the material really well. She is funny and entertaining as well and gives great feedback!

The whole class is centered around pre-recorded lectures that were originally posted a few years ago, there is no transcript that is readily available. Any outside information is counted as cheating, which includes "previously learned information". The 3 quizzes make up a large portion of the grade and REQUIRE approximately 25+ hours of prep each.

I attempted to take 8 wk fast track. Dropped because I got too far behind on the lectures. You have to take notes on every term / concept/ definition if you want it to be easy. It will prep you for the mid term. She is really funny and very nice. I recommend you sit at a desk and take notes while you listen to the lecture. That's the only way!

I loved taking her class. It was pretty easy taking it online. There were pre-recorded lectures and discussions every week. The lectures in this class are heavy and they varied in length. Three units in the class each ending with a big free response exam. Exams are heavy. No final but a paper. She is very personable and intelligent in her lectures!

Attendance is not technically mandatory but she lectures every class and covers A LOT in just one lecture. She does three main assignments and exams and the rest is just reviews on lectures. Professor M is an absolute joke of a professor. She demands that you only take information from her own ridiculously long lectures. She will fail you if you use outside information (completely discourages anyone from digging in deeper into subjects that they care about). A teacher who has become too paranoid about AI use leading to a highly restrictive environment and grades far too harshly considering that the average score on the exam was below passing for the entire class. It wouldn't be a hard class there was a different structure. ALL STRESS, LITTLE LEARNING

I just dropped the full semester class. She seems to be a nice person, but unless you transcribe everything in her superlong lecture videos, you will be lost. This was an online class and was horrible! Get ready for some unreasonable and crazy amounts of work. If you take her - good luck. I strongly recommend you find someone else...

I advise against taking her class. She gave my midterm a 0/60 and my final a 17/60, with vague feedback after multiple emails. She also threatened to report me to student affairs for suspected AI use on exams.

As others said, she has insanely long lecture videos filmed years ago with poor quality. Rules, due dates, etc are jumbled from being used for other classes and years. She is easily accessible but just gives vague grading reasons and fails to elaborate. She is paranoid about AI and will fail you without exception if she detects any AI use.

Took her HIST102 8 Week class. Oh my god the lectures; thank god for youtube transcripts. There was 2 weeks towards the end where, in both weeks, the total lecture time was just over 7 hours each. Imagine that, an hour of lecture a day, on top of 6 high school classes. Good grader with good feedback though. Exams are easy enough to prep for.

Took this as a summer class, and it was challenging. There were 12 different topics covered, and each topic had around 2-4 hours of mandatory video lectures. TAKE NOTES! Professor M only allows you to use info covered in her lectures in discussions and essays, so it is important you pay attention. 1 quiz per topic, 2 discussions, & 2 exams.

I absolutely loved taking both HIST 101 and HIST 102 with this professor. It was a completely online, asynchronous course and I took HIST 102 in an accelerated course. The entirety of the content is taught through her lectures, and you will be marked off points if you use anything other than lecture material so be warned. However I highly recommend

If you take the online class, be aware of how time consuming it is. I'm a history buff and enjoyed how detailed lectures were, but they were SO LONG, and after a while it became too much. Make sure to have the lecture open on one window and notes on the other, and you should be ok.

Lectures were educational, but missing one is rough because the slides have little to no words. Had humor and was respectful to students who were rude to her. Very few assignments, and only counted some of them and excused lowest grades. Hand written mid-term and final, but notes allowed on one page front and back. I would recommend her class.

Lecture videos are very long about 6-7 hours long. You can not pull from prior knowledge or other sources. You must forget about things you've learned and only pull from what she's spoken about in class. You are given barely any time on assignments and exams that must be very detailed. Would NOT recommend her class. She will gladly fail you.

6 hr/week lectures (3 hrs if use 2x speed), must be watched for credit. Can only answer tests/quizzes off lecture material, but grading is lenient + drops one. Lecture transcripts are offered - copy or summarize them for the final. Be careful with instructions/deadlines. Extra credit at end bumps 1-2%. Don't use AI (ever) and its an easy A.

LONG LECTURE VIDEOS . This online class is easy just very time consuming. It not a hard class just make sure you make the time for it . Professor Marajanovic was one of the best professors I've ever had at Palomar. Her lectures are engaging and memorable. She gives clear grading criteria, and makes it easy to achieve and A. All the review tests and exams you are allowed to have notes-the essay exams you can pre-write (she actually encourages this!). I couldn't recommend her enough!

Funny! I loved Professor M's lectures; they are, however, very long. I recommend putting videos in 1.25x or 1.5x speed so you can still jot down notes but can also get through it quicker. Definitely watch the videos; you can be dropped if you don't. The material itself isn't super easy, but as long as you follow the (clear) rubric, you'll do fine.

Mrs. Marjanovic has the best history class I have ever taken. Her lectures are fun, not boring, and insightful. The assignments are sparse and not difficult as long you cite correctly. Only downside is she gives very brief feedback, but she is willing to clarify and help via email. I like history now because of this class and her teaching!

I wasn't satisfied with the style of teaching in this class at all. It took up way more of my time than I thought could be possible for an online class. It felt like never ending lecture content every week, 4+ hours of rambling, could've easily been shortened if she had put more thought into students time and day to day lives outside of class.
